Lightroom 3 beta 2 photos in LR 2.7

I own  Lightroom 2.7 and I not ready at this time to purchase the upgrade to LR 3.
I used LR 3 Beta 2 and had many photos stored under this version. How do i access all the photos that I processed under LR3 into my LR 2.7 version.?
I can't believe that Adobe is holding all of MY PHOTOS Hostage unless I upgrade. Adobe should have told us that if we used the beta and di not buy the upgrade that we would not have access to our own photos.

There isn't much I can do for you.  When I import images I choose the folder and drive where the images will be imported to.  I normally don't rename the files, so they are the same name as they were in the camera.  I can't tell you where Lightroom your images because that is something that you specify in your import options.  Like I said previously, use your OS search feature to locate your images.  If you are on Windows you could search for  *.nef or *.cr2 or whatever extension your files are, and you will be presented with a list of folders where those files are located.  Then you can import those into Lightroom.  I don't understand how you could just let Lightroom import the files and not pay attention to where they are being stored.  To me, that is of basic file management.

does lightroom have photo merge or do you need full photoshop?

You're welcome. If you have Photoshop or Photoshop Elements installed, when you right-click on an image in Lightroom and choose to edit in one of those programs, one of the options is to merge to a panorama using that program. If you don't have program installed that will do that the option will not appear.

  • Does lightroom update photos in bridge

does lightroom update photos that are shown in bridge?

    Hi,
as i said, this photo is displayed in PA20, after ulpoading from Frontend via Portal Appl,  so everything till now is in order. this a WDA issue, because the class CL_HRTMC_BASIC_UTILITIES use that method that is checking if the photo is buffred or not, if the photo is buffred, it will get the last URL from the cluster table (INDX), if not, after geting it using ArchivL FM, will get a new URL, in tis case it will be buffred in the cluster table with the new URL and with the timstamp (Timestamp is a future time (one Houre or one day, it depends) this is from SAP). and in the next time , if the user uploded a photo and after starting newly the Appl and clicking on the same person number, automaticlly this methode will be generated, and deliver a specialy Timstamp which will be copmpared with the timestamp buffred with the person number and  the URL of the photo. if its less , the new photo will be displayed, if not the old photo will be displayed.
    this is WDA issue

  • Adobe Lightroom Beta...

I have been running the Adobe Lightroom Beta since the beta released. I am wondering about two things:
    1. I heard that BETA testers are getting a greater discount than the public rate of $199.00 how do I go about getting this discount? Does anyone know? Also, I have had a problem with is re-exposing my images. There are no defaults set, however as soon as I import and image and click on it is adjust the levels automatically, making the tones more dull and the lighting much darker?? Any input regarding this, I would love to hear....

You can get it at a discount of $169 by using following promo code - Macworld07
It was suppose to expire on 2/19 but it still works.

  • Hello, after installing Beta photo I lost my photo stream folder in my iPhone. any idea how to get it back.

My iPhone 5S prompt me to install Beta photos and when it was installed I lost all my pictures in Photo stream together with photo stream folder itself. The photos are not in iCloud as well. Do you think is it possible to get them back

Restore the library to the backup made just before the problem occurred.  Other than that you'll have to manually reorder the albums.
Send a feature request for sorting albums chronologically to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.

  • Preparing my photo library for the beta Photos is taking the better part of a week. Is this normal?

The process of "preparing" my photo library for the beta Photos is taking the better part of a week. Is this normal?  I have around 2000 photos the iPhoto library I am uploading.

How are you preparing the library?  The only thing I would do to prepare for converting to Photos once it's released would be the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
    2 - run Option #1, Repair Permissions.
    3 - run Option #4, Rebuild Database.
Do this just prior to launching Photos for the first time.

  • Which is better photo editor Photoshop Element or Lightroom?

This is probably not the right forum for this question. You may want to check out some independent reviews (like Lightroom vs Photoshop Elements) or Adobe's product information pages.

  • Lightroom deletes photos while moving

When I tried moving photos from one folder to another (drag&drop within the lightroom library as usual), after moving most of the files 3 photos remained and I got an error that those three could not be moved. I checked on the hard drive and the files (dng) where gone - neither in the old, nor in the new folder or the trash bin. Nothing. The previews are still in the old folder within lightroom with the usual exclamation mark of missing files. Any idea where they went or how to get them back? I'm using Lr 5.6 on OS X Yosemite.

    Possible solutions:
Restore photos from your backups; if you don't have backups (why not?) then go to option 2
Use an "undelete utility" to see if you can recover the files from your hard drive
This is a rare but recurring problem with Lightroom, despite Adobe's adamant denial that they cannot find any such thing happening after intensive investigation
Moving folders in Lightroom - lost all my pictures!
Missing 6 months worth of pictures of my kids, HELP!
    Re: The lost photos
In the future, you would be wise to not move photos inside of Lightroom. Instead, you could move the photos in your operating system and then reconnect in Lightroom via Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders; or better yet, develop a workflow that does not require moving photos from here to there (problem solved!)

  • Aperture vs Adobe Lightroom (Beta 3) JPEG exports

I've been beta-testing the Adobe Lightroom product and comparing it to Aperture. I'm using Aperture 1.1.1 on a MacBook Pro.
Lightroom has some intriguing features, but I've noticed a wildly different color when exporting the same image to JPEG format from Lightroom and Aperture.
I took the same RAW image from a shot I took with my Nikon D70 and exported a JPEG from Aperture using default settings with no color adjustment. In Lightroom I exported the same image to Photoshop, and then exported a JPEG with default settings and no color adjustment.
    Look at the difference:
    https://www.carsonmedia.com/projects/softballphotos/phototests/photocomparison.h tml
Can anyone explain the difference? Aperture seems to export a JPEG that resembles the original.
    I'm perplexed at the difference.

Yeah, looks like a colorspace issue -- I'm guessing Pro Photo, but it might not be LR's fault. Last I checked, LR actually exports PSDs, not JPEGs, in Pro Photo space to PS. So 2 possibilities:
    1. LR incorrectly tagged the PSD output, so PS doesn't realize it's Pro Photo.
    2. You didn't do a colorspace coversion in PS before saving the JPEG. Try using 'save to web' in PS -- it usually takes care of the sRGB conversion for you. Does it look correct in PS before the JPEG export?

  • Lightroom imports photos to wrong folder

I've been importing lots of photos from my hard drive into lightroom and been moving/renaming them in the process. I only got lightroom a few weeks ago.
This has worked fine but i've recently imported a few hundred photos off my iphone and doing the same thing - move and rename. The trouble is, these photos keep going into the 2009 folder, instead of the 2012 or 2013 folders that they should be. When i look at the photos, they have the correct name, and the capture date seems to be correct, its just lightroom keeps wanting to put them in the wrong folder by year. Does anyone understand why this might be happening?
naturally I want all my photos sorted into the right date folders as this is the way ive decided to organise my photos...

hmm so still not making sense. it keeps wanting to import my photos into the wrong destination. have removed all the photo from lightroom. how do i change it so it automatically puts the photos into the corresponding year/month they were taken..
I understand its something in the import settings/destination but cant seem to change this. not sure what parts of the import box your wanting to see Dj.
the structure now is my pictures/2009/21-7-09 then its creating new year folders and sorting them within this 21-7-9 folder..
    can't see to change this?

  • I've send from Lightroom 5 photos in Jpeg format to my desktop that arrive as Archive and I'm unable to do anything with the photos.  I want to put them in a folder but can't. It seems problem is in them being in 'archive'.  Any suggestions?

I've exported photos from Lightroom 5 from my laptop to my wife's desktop.  The photos arrive as Archive and she's unable to do anything with them, such as catalog them in an IPhoto folder with other photos.  Is there an adjustment I need to make when exporting from Lightroom 5 so we can avoid this problem? Thank you.

  • Lightroom deletes photos

I just had something very strange happen that disturbs me greatly. I was looking for a particular photo and found it with a search. It was stacked along with similar photos. I no longer do that -- just stack versions of the same photo. So I selected the photos and did Photos / Stacking / Unstack.
The photo I wanted disappeared! I can't find it anywhere, nor several others that were in that stack. Before I noticed that I had also unstacked another stack.
I went to my backup drive and that folder on the backup contains 53 objects and the active one contains only 49. I used Bridge to look at the files on the backup and the missing pictures are there.
It is possible this was imported from Elements 5 and was stacked in Elements 5, but that should make no difference.
    Windows XP, Lightroom version 1.2.
This is the first time Lightroom has really frightened me as a catalog program!

Well, the lack of responses may mean that other people have not had a similar problem. Which makes me feel good. As I was putting them back I noticed something and it's possible I deleted them by mistake.
I did delete one of them on purpose, which was one of the stack at the time I deleted it. It's possible that I had the stack selected. I must say I do get confused about what is selected (compared to other programs) and always keep the bar that shows how many are selected visible for that reason.
However, I don't think I did that because I saw the missing photos until I did the unstack and then they disappeared from view. I thought at first that the unstacked members didn't have the right tags, since I was viewing from a FIND, but even showing all in that folder didn't show them and then checking the directory showed them missing.

  • Lightroom Missing photos

I have Lightroom 3 and Photshop CS5 on my iMac.  Suddenly Lightroom tells me that certain photos - held in the 'All Photographs' folder are either missing of offline (5247 of them).  I can open them in Photoshop, I can open them in Finder, but as soon as I go to Develop in Lightroom I am told they are missing.  Can anyone help, please?

    Diana,
Lightroom only keeps pointers to the photos. If you use some program outside of Lightroom (like Finder) to move your folders or images to a different place on your Mac, Lightroom loses track of where they are. You can tell Lightroom where to look, and all will be well.
Look at your Folder view in Lightroom. Do the folder lines have a "?" on them? If so, right-click on the highest-level folder and choose Find Missing Folder...  Navigate to where that folder now is, and select that location. That folder and all of its sub-folders will be thereby reconnected to Lightroom.
