No need to worry about the disk version. You would just have to install an update anyway as soon as it was installed. Download from the link provided below and use the serial number you have to activate.

  • Lightroom 5 installation stalls

I have Lightroom 4 and PS CS6, and I just purchased CC for photographers. The first thing I tried to do was install LR 5 from the CC app. It got as far as 47%, then stalled. After 90 minutes, I cancelled the installation, rebooted my computer, and tried again. Same result -- it is now stalled at 47% and has been that way for over 2 hours. I have over 200GB of open disk space, so I don't think that's the problem. I'd appreciate any suggestion as to what to do next.  Thanks.

KellyMC I would recommend reviewing the installation logs for the Lightroom 5 installation.  You can find information on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html.  You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.

  • Lightroom 5 installation keeps failing

    Lightroom 5 installation keeps failing.
Solution mentioned here doesn't work, because my default installation language is English. The installation process stops and shows there's an error but doesn't actually show the error message. The system language on my laptop is Russian.
I had a trial installed previously and now need to activate it with my Creative Cloud membership but it's been about two weeks since I purchased it and it still doesn't work!

    Hi,
I’m sorry to hear that! Not sure why it worked for me but not for you. I’d like to check the steps you made just to make sure…
    What OS or you using?
I removed Lightroom from Creative Cloud. – So there is no error showing.
I downloaded the: Lightroom_5_LS11_win_5_2 from the link.
Unpacked it to the desktop (any folder will do).
Then I navigated to the folder and installed Lightroom_5_LS11_win_5_2.
Re opened CC and clicked install. It then install the 5.3 update.
If you followed all these steps and still have no luck then A, let me know. And B, you may have to wait for Adobe to fix the issue.
I’ll troll the internet for you too.
There are still more things we can try, so don't give up!
I love Lightroom and feel your pain!
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • Lightroom 5 installation on two PCs

    Hi,
Simple question: If I buy a copy of Lightroom 5, can I install it on both my PC & laptop?

    Hello,
Thank you for the prompt response - this is exactly what I was hoping for.  Main PC being used at home and laptop for when 'out on a shoot'.
    Thanks again.

Yes, the Lightroom License agreement is for one user / owner and allows it to be installed on two computers with the provisio that one one is in use at any point in time. It is cross platform PC &/or Mac. You can install/ uninstall as many times you require provided there are only two in existance.

  • Lightroom 5 Installation Failed

I recently purchased the Photographers' package which allowed me to install Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5. I didn't install the apps until I received my new Ultrabook a few weeks later. Seeing that this was a fresh system, I had no issues installing Photoshop CC.  Lightroom 5 however kept running into failed installations. I kept retrying but everytime it reaches 43%, it fails. The error message is below:

  • Lightroom 4 installation problem (windows 7)

Hi, I'm having trouble installing Lightroom 4 on my Dell studio 15 laptop (64 bit-Windows 7, 4 GB RAM).  The installer seems to stop after the pop-up saying it is 'extracting Adobe_lightroom4_x64.msi'.  The pop-up disappears and nothing else happens.  I've tried restarting, uninstalling Lightroom 2, running ccleaner, re-downloading the installer, turning off Microsoft security essentials and the windows firewall, and starting up in safe mode (the latter gives a message saying it can't install in safe mode).  What else should I try?

It sounds like for whatever reason the installer isn't able to extract the 64 bit install files. Lightroom comes as one file but it is really just a bundled up archive with both the 32bit and 64bit installers included. When you run it the installer extracts these and then runs the one relevant to your system (in this case it would be the 64 bit installer).
As you have another machine where the install goes ok you could run the installer on this machine, it will extract the install files at which point you should be able to copy those files onto a USB stick or something, take them home and then run the installer directly. Hopefully this should get around the problem that the installer is having extracting the files and allow you to install the program directly.

  • Lightroom CC installation failure

I installed Lightroom CC via the Adobe CC installer after being directed there via LR5.7. When I tried running it, LR CC's splash screen appeared briefly then disappeared. It doesn't show up in OS X Yosemite's Activity Monitor as being a current process. I rebooted my late-2012 iMac and that didn't help so I uninstalled then reinstalled LR CC to no avail.

    I have the same problem.
Couple times I tried all method
    - sign out & sign in
    - move com.adobe.Lightroom6.plist it to Desktop then sign out & sign in
    - I also removed all Adobe apps from my mac & clean up all folders in ~/library from all adobe files.
Every times I "Launch Ligthroom CC 2015 application , by double clicking on Lightroom cc 2015 option under Apps list in Creative Cloud application"
    But it didn't work.
    Please help me

  • Lightroom replacement installation media

I recently purchased Lightroom 5 from B&H photo and received CDs.  Shortly thereafter I was the victim of a robbery and the CDs were taken but I still have my product packaging and activation code.  How do I get/purchase new installation media?  May I download lightroom rather than purchasing new media?
    Thanks

You can download the installation file from Product updates and then optionally burn this file to a DVD.

  • Lightroom 5 installer corrupt

I use Windows 7 64 bit, have LR4 and got the new LR5 release. When installing I get "A problem occured while extracting some files check available space on your computer and the write privileges on the destination folder.", just like I have seen other people get. This is from a Chrome based download. If I go IE10 download the download gets aborted stating something about the certificate not being correct. However, I still get the download but get the same error message when using the installer, both 829,765 KB. I have tried to run the installers as Adminstrator.
When I then try to report the bug, Lightroom is not a producted listed in the drop down. I know I am spamming the forum with something that is already reported, but this is a bit of a disappointment. For anyone that is about to get LR5, I would hold off until there is an installer that works.
    PeO.

Rob - you know the saying. Don't mess with what is working.   I will continue to think that Adobe has an installer that is not compliant with all aspects of a normal environment. I will continue to believe that until this problem happens for me next time for another software. Appreciate all the help I have gotten. Forums are powerful due to the people that cares to help. So a big thank you.
The only lead I have thought of after is that I have AVG antivirus on the computer that was not able to do this, and McAfee on the one where it worked. Perhaps a clue for someone else.

  • Should I "deactivate" my Lightroom 5 installation?

    Hello.
I am in the process of formatiing my Windows 7 machine
I need to know if there is anything I must know before I format my HDD where my LR5 installation lives, regarding my LR licence.
I know about some software (eg iTunes or Perfect Photo suite) which must me deactivated before going through this, so that when I get a fresh windows install, those programs will run with no issue as to my licence.
    Thank you.
BTW, all of my files and catalog reside on a different partition. Actually, on another HDD unit.

Lightroom (unlike Photoshop) does not require and activation/deactivation process. You will be fine.

  • Lightroom 5 installation stuck at "computing space requirements"

I am trying to install a new copy of Lightroom 5 from DVD, but the installation process gets stuck at the following screen:
It never gets beyond that point.  I have tried leaving it for up to 30 minutes but nothing changes.  If I click "cancel" nothing happens and I then have to use task Manager to close the installation programme.
I am using Windows 8 on a new Dell PC that far exceeds all the minimum specifications.
    Any ideas?  Thanks.

I have now managed to install Lightroom 5.  It seems my computer needed to reboot to install some Windows updates.  I am guessing this was the cause of the problem.  I tried to restart the compuiter but it hung for ages on "restarting".  Eventually I switched off the power and restarted, then tried the install again and it worked fine.  I hope this may help anyone else with the same problem.
