  • Lightroom 5 slideshow problem

    Lightroom 5 slideshow
After selecting "Preview" only black screen.
    The slideshow don't work.

    Hi everyone,
I am also facing this issue (bug?), indeed when choosing:
    - Preview
    - Play.
The result is quite the same: when choosing "Play" I have a whole black screen; With "Preview" it is the only display area which "freezes". In both cases the only solution is to exit LR5 (using Alt+F4).
I have not experienced the "pretty bicolor" screen.
I can export the slideshow in PDF as well as in JPEG. However trying to "export as video" crashes having the following message "An error of undetremined type occured". It does not depend on the slideshow length (here 13 slides) nor on the resolution (here 480 x 270). (Screen capture included)
LR3 worked perfectly. I have not tested LR4 directly jumping from LR3 to LR5.
    My configuration:
    - Micrososoft Windows 7 Professional 64bits (SP1)
    - Proc: AMD Phenom II x6 1045T
    - RAM: 4096 MB
    - HD1 (OS): 112 GB (with 18 GB free)
    - HD2 (catalogs): 212 GB (with 48 GB free)
    - Graphic card: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 (2040 MB) (driver version 9.18.13.783 - 2013/02/19)
    - Cache memory (pictures): 50 GB
    - Cache memory (video): unlimited
Looking into your configuration I have remarked your graphic card is also an NVIDIA model. Is there a link?
    Looking forward to your feedback.

  • Lightroom cc slideshow sync issues

I created a lightroom cc slideshow which includes watermarks, text, music, pan and zoom, etc.
I have the slideshow synced with my account. I can see the slideshow synced on my ipad and web.
When viewing the synced slideshow on the web and my ipad, , none of the slideshow features are included. There are no watermarks, no text, no music,  no pan and zoon etc.  The slideshow looks exactly like any other collection.
Is there a way I can view the synced slideshow so that it plays as in LR CC on my computer?
    Is this a feature limitation?
    Thanks,
    -Bob

You can only sync the photos in the collection, not a Slideshow, Book etc that you may have crated from same on your desktop. So, yes it's a feature limitation. If you want the slideshow to run on your iPad you'll need to first export it as a movie file from Lightroom then import on to the iPad.

  • How do I add a lightroom gallery/slideshow to my BC site?

I've tried to "publish" my slideshow gallery to first my blogger to no avail and now to my BC site that I have created.  Why aren't any of these Adobe apps compatible or able to integrate/communicate with one another?  I refuse to believe that there is not a way...there has to be!

    Hello,
Please refer to the below forum thread:-

  • Lightroom's Slideshow Module export quality issue

When I export a slide show, the resulting quality of the photos in the pdf is much below that of the photos I see in the Library module. There is a high degree of aliasing (jagged edges) and if I export the slide show at less than 100% quality or at a screen size smaller than my client's, the pixelization renders the slide show useless.
I am using a Mac with the latest OS with a 256mb video card, 2GB RAM, and plenty of harddrive space.
I have confirmed with two other experienced photographers that this is also happening with them.
I have resorted to using Fotomagico as a slideshow software vs. Lightroom for the results from Lightroom are too unprofessional to show my clients.

    Pat,
I just checked my slideshow output and it looks good. I can only suggest [and you probably have tried all of these: 1] Make sure your photos look good to start, high res etc. 2] make sure you have the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader [8 I believe] 3] restart LR [I hesitate to even say this]
Beyond that I don't have much to offer.
    Good luck

  • Lightroom 6 slideshow scrambling photos - how to fix?

This photo is a collage of images just to show what I'm talking about. I've created a slideshow in LR6, and it looks awesome in Preview mode.
However, when I go to Play mode or when I export/save it and watch it in any other player, anywhere from 3-13 of the 20 photos end up looking like this.
The originals are fine, the preview version is fine, and it's not always the same photos if I choose to randomize them.
Is this a known problem? Can I fix it? I didn't have any luck with a search. Thank you!

Hi, I do have exactly the same issue. And I never had that in a previous version of Lightroom. It looks like a bug to me.

  • Lightroom 5 Slideshow doesn't render on MacBookPro?

I have a MacBookPro 2,2 laptop and can use most other modules without difficulty, but when I try to create a slideshow, the program starts to render the first slide and then stops, leaving me with a black screen.

I was using the trial version, which recently ran out. Loved the software, so a couple of hours ago I purchased a standard license via download from Amazon.
Amazon sent me what appears to be a valid license key (6 groups of 4 digits). But Lightroom will not accept the key, with the exact same error message as you in your post.
I've sent Amazon an email message. Meanwhile, I have phoned Adobe Support...and I have been on hold for over an hour, without being able to speak to a live support agent. Your phone sucks, Adobe.
I wonder if something's gone wrong with their licensing/validation system.
    Adobe?

  • Lightroom 3 Slideshow Export

I recently upgraded to Lightroom 3.6 from PhotoShop Elements.
I tried to create my first slide show in Lightroom.  It took me a while to figure out that I needed a collection.  I finally got the preview to look like I wanted and tried to export this to PDF and Movie.
Neither will work for me.  The export to PDF gets to "Exporting X photos" and just hangs forever.  Export to Movie finishes very quickly, but you can't open the MP4 file.  The MP4 file is 2KB and the PDF file is 9KB.
I upgraded from Photoshop Elements to Lightroom in the hopes that some of the quirky behavior of Elements would not be present in Lightroom.
I have tried to run this as administrator also in case that would help.  I even created a simple collection with only 3 images in it and it still fails.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Dean

    Hi Paul
The slideshow module exports the selected photos to high quality MP4.
I use it regularly as at satisfies the majority of user play back needs and embedding or sharing on social networks.
You may find yourself stuck in the closed world of Apple and Quick Time but rest assured you can escape.

  • Lightroom 4 Slideshow

Lightroom 4-In the collections folder I have three slideshows-if I assign a soundtrack to any of the three shows they all assume the same sound track.

I've been messing with your issue for a while.
The only way I can get the slide show to end exactly with the music is to edit the music in Adobe Audition to an exact length to be used in LR.  Even then the rendering  throws the timing off just a bit.

  • Lightroom 5 slideshow problems

I am having display problems in the slideshow in Lightroom 5. lightroom 4 has no problem on the same machine (13"macbook on 107.7.5)
The display goes cloudy and the colors go negative, any help welcome.

There is no apparent workaround but if anybody can point me in a better direction, please reply to this thread.
I recommend using ShowBiz instead of Lr's impromptu slideshow feature:
    * Starts immediately.
    * Slides are true full-screen (or can/should be).
    * Previews are built asynchronously (i.e. concurrently, while slideshow is playing) and slideshow won't go on to the next slide until preview has been built (unless you explicitly configure it to do so), no never a sub-quality image is displayed, nor ever the "loading..." indicator.
    * Color and quality is "perfect" (unlike Lr's impromptu slideshow feature for some of us, which @Lr5-beta has wonky color/tone).
    * Performance is not tied to number of photos in filmstrip (unless thousands of previews need to be built for them, in which case Lr can start to crawl after a spell).
The other option is to use publishing services and maintain a tree (or flat folder) of all your images at the ready for 3rd party slideshow software (consider TreeSync Publisher for that).

  • Lightroom 1 slideshow?

  • Lightroom 2 Slideshow Templates Missing

I'm brand new to Lightroom. The first thing I need to get done is to put together a slideshow. Right off the starting line I have a problem in that th slideshow templates that are supposed to be provided with the product are not there. Any idea shy ?
    Thanks

    Just a guess:
    Go to the Slideshow Module.
    Open the lefthand panel.
Right-click and make sure Template Browser has a checkmark next to it.

  • Lightroom 5 slideshow music mac

When I select music, I select an m4a audio file for a slideshow, yet lightroom tells me this is not a valid music file. (Same message for various m4a audio files.)

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I don't think this was my problem. Besides the m4a audio file/slideshow problem, Lightroom wouldn't recognize any .mp4 files (which it had been doing). After consulting with Adobe support, I opened a New Catalog, and chose "Import from another catalog" (that other catalog being my old one). Both audio and video issues were fixed. Again, thanks for your help.

  • Lightroom 5 slideshow export video

So this is LR 5.5. Can you change the quality settings on export of your slideshows? Exported my first one and the quality is ok at small size but not so good when enlarged.

As trshaner says, make sure you select the correct output resolution. Usually you want at least 720p. The highest quality it will do is 1080p (i.e. 1920x1080). Lightroom doesn't output sharpen the images it puts in the slideshow video so when you display on a big screen, it is usually fairly soft. Unfortunately, you cannot fix this except for using a different slideshow creation software. Even Photoshop makes better slideshow video albeit in a very hard to use interface if you just want a set of images transitioning.

  • Lightroom 5 Slideshow Issues

I don't like that you have to wait for the previews to build in Lightroom 5.  Lightroom 4 had a way around this which really helps when you have large libraries.
I also liked how you could use the keyboard arrows during the slideshow in LR 4 to go back to a previous image / set of images shown in the slideshow.
It would be great if these issues could be addressed in the next update.  Thank you very much!

Yes, what happened to the option to render previews before playing (great if you have lots of time ) and the previous default to render as the slideshow is playing (great for almost every time I need a slideshow).
Even the Preview button has to render all the slides before showing!!!
Any chance this option is going to be put back?

  • Burn DVD of Lightroom 3 slideshow

Is there a way to export a slideshow to a DVD so that it will play in a DVD player?  Or a plugin?

Not directly out of Lightroom. Im not aware of any 3rd party plugin that will allow this either. Apples iDVD could be a solution if you are on a MAC. Not sure of the DVD creation options for PC.
