Lightroom 4.1 Update Question

I ordered a boxed version of Lightroom 4 upgrade  which is scheduled to be delivered by UPS tomorrow. Lightroom 4.1 has just been released. What is the best way to proceed? Install the disk and then upgrade to 4.1 via download? Or, just download the full 4.1 and use the registration number that comes with the box? Thanks.

Download 4.1 and use the serial on the box.

  • Lightroom 2.6 update-All palettes on left side of screen gone!

    I was just wondering
if anyone else had this same problem with the new lightroom 2.6 update. I installed the
    2.6 update and everything
works as it should except for this issue....When you go into the develop module all of the
palettes(navigator/catalog/folders/collections) on the left hand side of the screen are not there. When you go to click on the arrow to make them reappear the entire computer locks up. All you see is the lightroom screen but the mouse and keyboard will not work and the only option is to shutdown and restart. My computer is virus free...the graphics card has been updated. Im running lightroom on a 64 bit windows vista machine with a four core processor. This issue started with the 2.6 update. I even reinstalled the update using the repair function and the same issue is happening. Could this possibly be a corrupted install. Any help would be most helpfull.

  • Lightroom 5.5 update unusable:(  I downloaded the 5.5 (not CC) update yesterday

Lightroom 5.5 update unusable:(  I downloaded the 5.5 (not CC) update yesterday on my PC and now most functions are EXTREMELY slow to the point of making Lightroom unusable. It takes several minutes and appears to freeze when cropping an image, an export of a single image takes several minutes, and every click or action of any sort takes 10-20 seconds to respond. I didn't have any problems with the 5.4 version and would like to go back to that. My questions are: 1. How do I get back to 5.4? (do I just uninstall 5.5 and reinstall 5.4? and in that order?) 2. Will going backward mess up my catalog? Will I lose all of the work I've done since my last backup? (sadly, last week...arg!) 3. I also updated CS6 Camera RAW...if I go back to LR5.4 do I also need to go backward in Photoshop updates?
I've got 3 projects that require Lightroom and need to get done (like yesterday!), so any help you can provide would be great.
    Thanks in advance!

Just re-install Lightroom 5.4; you lose nothing.
You do need to make regular backups (weekly or more frequently) regardless of this issue.

  • Creative Cloud Lightroom unable to update from 4.3 to 4.4

I am currently on a Mac and my Adobe Creative Cloud Application Manager (AAM) is having some issues.
I ran the update this morning when I heard that camera raw had been updated.  The updated completely successfully for camera raw.
AAM is showing that my current version of Lightroom is 4.4.  When launching the Lightroom application it is still showing that it is 4.3 and that the update for 4.4 is available.  I checked the application manager in OSX and it shows that the current version is indeed still 4.3.
Since I am using creative cloud and not stand alone products, I thought that the AAM would update my programs and why is the AAM not updating my Lightroom from 4.3 to 4.4.  Is it because camera raw updated and it is erroneously reporting that Lightroom has been updated?
I have never used a beta or RC version of lightroom on this computer, only final products and updates that have been provided with creative cloud.
Is Lightroom a program that you have to manually update outside of creative cloud application manager? That doesn't make sense to me since it is one of the programs included with the subscription and was installed with the application manager.
My hopes are that I'm not the only one having this issue and by posting this Adobe becomes aware of this.

Yes, same issue here. It is a bit annoying that Adobe has not integrated LR fully to their Creative Cloud package. I would have really hoped that the AAM would be the hub for installing and updating all Creative Cloud applications. The new Camera Raw update for Photoshop works ok from AAM.
And I have a faint memory of having recognition problems when LR was installed outside AAM...
It would be nice if someone from Adobe could report the official update procedures - even if it would mean doing a manual update outside the AAM. It seems to be next to impossible to find any documentation on this anywhere.

  • Lightroom 5.2 Update in French

I just downloaded 5.2 here in UK and when I start the installation, the important information section and the terms and conditions are in French. I halted the update as I didn't want Lightroom to be updated and find it all in French! Anyone else had this problem?

    Thanks Victoria.
By the way, I recently downloaded your free guide to LR5. Although I've been using LR for a long time, I found it very instructive to go back to basics - there were things I had either forgotten or never realised I could, or should, be doing. I am going to buy your Missing FAQ book today. Keep up the great work.

  • Installed Lightroom 5.7 Update and Camera RAW 8.7 But still will not recognise my Canon 7D MkK ll even though this is now on the list

Installed Lightroom 5.7 Update and Camera RAW 8.7 But still will not recognise my Canon 7D MkK ll even though this is now on the list- what can I do?
    Operating System OSx Yosemite IMac.

What exactly does "not recognise" mean, Kathy?
You're on Mac (thanks for providing that detail): are you getting a "could not be read" message? If you are, it's a write permissions issue with the destination. Change the permission, and all should be well.

  • Lightroom 5.5 update file downloads just fine, but it won't run.  Any solutions out there?

    Hello all,

  • Can we make things more Useful...? not an update question.

Ok well i said its not an update question.. well it kinda is.
today is friday.. the release date of the new iphone 3g.. great.. i love my iphone.. im goin to wait a week or so before i go ahead and buy the new phone for sake of bugs and lil tweaks..
ok so today i dont know what drove me to update my iphone.. and it got totally bricked for 3 hours.. until i finnally got thru using the "clicking" solution... well i understand the server is overwelmed.. and everyone is updatin and the same time.. but there was a prompt askin if i wanted to update and get the latest iphone software and the latest version of itunes... good.. lets all download it.. most of us it will take 3-6 hours for the iphone to update because the whole problem with the overload on apples side...
    ..BUT...
what if we cant wait that long?
i SYNC'd my iphone before the update.. well everyone does... itunes prompts you to do so.. WHY.. emphasizing on WHY... if we synced the phone to our computer systems.. and a problem like for example is goin forth now with this update... CAN'T we just restore our iphones back to how it was before we even tried updating it?
IT did SAVE to our computers right?
why cant we just double click here, right click right there..
    and BOOM..
back for pre 2.0 days.. well until after the storm has passedt..
why cant we have that option in itunes... heck why not?
hey doctors will always have beepers to get in contact with.. so hey the whole life death situation thing means it isnt that that THAT bad.. but hey everyone needs there cell phone and people use cell phones.. this one in particular for business.. so maybe we could have avoided some confrontation to some conference calls and clients.. etc... well regardless.. as easy for the update to have made the iphone in a way "bricked".. i think it should have been easy to restore to pre 2.0 .
windows has that option in its system restore feature...
download something that messes up your system? virus? update that doesnt work well with the OS?.. restore to an earlier date is an option in the control panel..
i think itunes need something like that with the iphone version..
    last but not least..
    i love my iphone :-D

  • Lightroom 1.1 Update

The Lightroom 1.1 update will be available from Adobe.com later this week. I apologize for the confusion for those that are patiently awaiting this release, but during the course of delivery testing, the update was publicly available through the Adobe.com store for a short period of time this evening.(Monday, 6/25)
The update has been removed from the Adobe.com store and will be re-posted once all of the testing has been completed internally.
Thanks again for everyone's patience and we're looking forward to making the final delivery towards the end of the week.
    Regards,
    Tom Hogarty

    > What's hard about typing David?
You shouldn't HAVE to type anything, its a waste of time.
Imagine... I know I have a picture of Joe, Sarah, Corey, and Zoe in Chicago... but maybe I didn't add a keyword or two from that list, I don't remember.
I could take the time to type ALL 5 keywords (DONT MISSPELL), or I could just ctl-click the keywords from the list (or better yet a small checkbox next to each, that way I could interactively toggle one keyword off, and turn another on.)
Not to mention, if I have a FOLDER called Chicago, I get ALL those pictures too...
The way it works in Elements just blows people away when they see it.
I remember telling people I wanted to show them an image, and they'd sigh figuring it would take awhile to find it... they'd be amazed when I could call it up in seconds with no typing... and they'd inevitably ask to see pictures with different combinations of keywords, and their faces would light up, especially if they were in the image. That doesn't happen with Lightroom.

  • When will Lightroom 5 be updated to support tethered capture with the Nikon D5300?

When will Lightroom 5 be updated to support tethered capture with the Nikon D5300?

Nobody who knows is able to say, and Adobe doesn't pre-announce support.

  • Updated question: Both Mac & PC links possible??

I apologize right away for posting a new topic with my updated question. But I realized I didn't phrase it right to get any help.
The question is - is it possible make both Mac links and PC links available on one disk. They would be in separate chapters. (i.e., directing Mac users to this page and Pc to another) Anyone tried this.
    thanks.

    hi jujubes
I just realised I misled you in my replay to your earlier post due to my poor writing skills
    to clarify:
I suggest using Intellidisc to create the links for playback on a PC
you would also use DVD@Access within DVDSP to create the links for Mac playback
the links will work when played back on both mac and PC from this single disc
the Intellidisc website gives all this in a tutorial at:

  • Software Update Questions

    Hi everybody,
I'm still relatively green in the computer world, so, I'm sure these questions are way to "rookie" for you. Nevertheless; here they are.
    Software Update Questions:
    1. What is J2SE 5.0 Release 4, version 4.0 (39.3 MB) and, is it necessary to install?
    2. What is X11 Update 2006, version 1.1.2 (51.0 MB) and, is it necessary to install?
In case you need to know, I have Mac OS X (10.4.8) with a Verizon FIOS connection.
    Thanks,
    Wayhun
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

J2SE 5.0 is the latest version of Java. Mac OS X originally ships with Java 1.4 and this gives you the opportunity to upgrade to the latest version.
It's an optional upgrade since there are many changes between Java 1.4 and java 5, so some people might prefer to hold off until they've verified their Java apps work with the new version. For most people, though, it isn't an issue.
X11 (also known as XWindows) is a standard GUI interface for Unix systems. If you're using X11 you'd probably alredy know about it and therefore wouldn't be asking this question. It's not going to cause any problems if you update it, but it won't offer any advantage unless you're running X11-based applications.

  • Official Lightroom 3.3 update now available

    Lightroom 3.3 update now available.Details here:http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2010/12/lightroom-3-3-and-came ra-raw-6-3-now-available.html

It is absolutely disappointing that the issues regarding the editing of keywords with spaces have not been addressed again. Another release where nothing is done about it. How long is this gonna take? The issue was raised long time ago and existed already in version 2. Is Adobe expecting that the DAM features of Lightroom are used by professionals? Currently, the entry of keywords with spaces is awkward and because of wrong keyword completion can lead to faulty keyword assignments. Please, do soemthing about it. The bug is already acknowledged.

  • Where is the Lightroom 5.7 update, with HDR capability, that Lightroom tells me about when I load it?

here is the Lightroom 5.7 update, with HDR capability, that Lightroom tells me about when I load it? When I click download it takes me to a page to get CC, NOT the Lightroom 5.7 update.

If you want to purchase Lightroom 6, which is the standalone version, go to this website:
    Products
Scroll to near the bottom of the page and you will find Lightroom. The steps are:
    1. Click on the Buy button.
    2. Indicate what version you have. The price will change to $79.
    3. Follow the other buttons and choices to complete your purchase.
