Lightroom 4.2 installation error - missing *.msi pathway

Hi
I am having some problems installing the upgrade to Lightroom 4.1
I ran the install from a 'check for updates' and experienced an error that there was a network error and that Adobe_Lightroom_x64.msi could not be found.
I cannot find this file anywhere on my system, and it appears to prevent the deletion of lightroom 4.1, as when I go to uninstall through control panel I have the same issue.
At present I have tried uninstalling in safe mode, and system restore, neither have helped.
Unfortunately the end result is that I cannot remove the products from my system to reinstall and I have not found an answer through forums of from anyone online.
Can you possible offer up some advice?
Rob

Could be permissions issues with the windows system restore and/or install cache. Dunno, since I don't use LR, but if this is the case, you might wanna check the relevant sub-folders in your Windows\Installer and Program Files\Uninstall Information directories. By default they are invisible system folders, so you need to use the respective Extras --> Folder Options or Organize --> Folder and Search Options to unhide them first.

  • Error 1316 network error missing . msi

I had photoelements 8 and trial 10 on my computer. Decided to postpone for now buying 10
    I uninstalled 10.
Something did not go right with the 10 uninstall as now 8 won't work.
I have tried reinstalling 8 from the cd. it starts uninstalling 8 and stops part way saying it cant continue because of above error.
I have tried a computer restore too.
    What next?

Hi, I got error while installing OEPE 12.1.3.3.1 on Eclipse Luna SR1 (4.4.1) with WTP 3.6.2. Am I missing something in order to install OEPE? Below are the errors :
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: GlassFish Tools 7.3.3.201412231459 (oracle.eclipse.tools.glassfish.feature.group 7.3.3.201412231459)

  • Itunes 7 Installation error ISScrip.msi

This is a newer one that i have not seen. Has anyone got the error during the uprade to Itunes 7 that says the "InstallScript engine on this machine is older than the version required to run this setup. If available, please install the latest version of ISScript.msi"? I have the most current version of ISSCript for Itunes 7 but it will not let me upgrade.

Did you ever get a reply. I got the same error message "1: The Install Script engine on this machine is older than the version required to run this setup. If available, please install the latest version of ISScript.msi or contact your support personnel for further assistance.

  • Labview installation error missing DLLs

    Hi,
I have installed Labview onto a PC and receive the following message when the PC starts now:
    NIDEVMON.EXE
"This application has failed to start because NIPALU.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"
I get this message 3 times when i start Labview:
"This application has failed to start because LKDYNAM.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"
I have reinstalled several times now. With the same result each time. For some reason the National Instruments s/w no longer appears in the Add/Remove programs file. I have been removing Labview using the CD to remove all components but I am not sure if this gives a 'fresh' base to install on.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
I have resolved my issue now. I couldn't use Add/Remove but did use the MIBLAST app and another microsoft app to crowbar NI s/w off my machine.
By installing one piece of NI s/w at a time managed to get everything working. I did the DAQ stuff last, and the installer crashed on me again when asked to change CDs. But by restarting and going to Add/Remove and doing a Repair on the DAQ installation, I got it all running.
2nd time I have had problems with NI installation CDs like this.
    Cheers,

  • Lightroom 5 updgrade installation fails

I just downloaded a lightroom 5 upgrade from adobe and tried to install it.  The default installation parameters failed with either insufficient disk space or a directory permission problem (it wasn't specific).  I have 45gb of free disk space, so it wasn't that.  Tried moving the "unzip" directory to computer/local disk/users/myusername/lightroomtemp. This time the installation went 100%, but then failed again with the same message.  Are there any log files?  any other ideas?
    thanks!

Thank you for your reply. I realize that this is a user forum;  Adobe support was closed until Monday, and the site "highly encouraged" users to use the forum as "the best place to get answers."
I read the "Readme" that came with the Lightroom 5 installation. I checked compliancy with everything except for the graphics card (Lightroom 3 works fine, so I'm expecting Lightroom 5 to also work fine.)
Here are the system requirements out of the readme:
    Windows
     Processor: Intel® Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon® 64  ( I have an AMD Phenom II 4 core, 3.2ghz)
 DirectX IO-capable or later graphics card (I'm pretty sjure my graphics card is compliant)
     OS: Microsoft® Windows® 7 with Service Pack 1 or later (Yes)
     RAM: 2 GB (4 GB Recommended) (I have 4gb)
 Hard Disk: 2 GB of available hard-disk space (I have 114gb free now out of 465gb on my hard disk drive.)
     Display: 1024 x 768 Monitor Resolution (yes)
 Internet connection required for Internet-based services (internet is connected)
Here are the messages from a screen shot from the failed installation:  it says:  (title bar) Photoshop Lightroom 5.3 installer
Error message:  a problem occurred while extracting some files.  Check available space on your computer and write privileges on the destination folder.
I ran the installer using all defaults, and again in a higher level directory that I seemed to have write access to.  Both times it failed after about 87% through the installation.
Thanks for any suggestions that you might have;  I really appreciate any ideas.  I'm pretty computer savvy, and am usually able to sort out a problem, but the lack of log files and specific error messages is limiting my ability to debug this problem

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Isokiller to confirm when you try to run the uninstaller you receive an error regarding the missing MSI file?  If this is the case then please attempt to use the Microsoft FixIt tool available at http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall/en-us to remove the entry for Photoshop Lightroom.
Once this is done you should be able to overwrite the existing files by reinstalling as Kglad as has suggested.

  • ITunes 8.0 installation error --- network resource is unavailable / .msi

    Hello.
When I was trying to install the latest version of iTunes I found an error message saying the following:
"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in the box below."
Yet, when I search my entire computer I cannot find any file named iTunes.msi.
To further the problems, I cannot uninstall iTunes because it is prompting me with the exact same message I typed out above.
I am also unable to open the iTunes program because of this same problem. I cannot access iTunes, yet I see it in my program files directory.
Oh, and after that message above appears, I click cancel and this message shows up:
"The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it."
    What does this all mean?
    Please help!

When you get messages about network resources and missing msi files, it usually means you need the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility.
Here is a method for removal of iTunes with clean up and reinstall.
    == uninstall with cleanup ==
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime (the one without iTunes)
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program. The installer doesn't give any message to confirm the installation.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/
(To run the program – All Programs>>Windows Install)
Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:
    XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    Vista
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
*If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry*, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
When you get to deleting Quicktime files in the system32 folder as advised in the method, you can delete any file or folder with Quicktime in the name.
    Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed – you should find entries the programs where the uninstall failed.
If you don’t see an entry for one of the programs that did not uninstall, look out for blank entries or numeric entries that look like version numbers e.g. 7.x for Quicktime or 1.x for Bonjour.
    restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
    If it does, install iTunes.

  • Lightroom - Installation Error - Exit Code 7

I was instructed to upgrade most apps to cc2014 editions.
Most have been successful although for some reason Creative Cloud says I have no apps installed at all now, however, the main problem I am having is that lightroom will not install, I am only using Adobe Creative Cloud as an installer (not third party as it states).
    I get the following error:

I have searched through for some solutions including deleting temp files etc but the problem remains.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks in advance
    Chris.

I have fixed this issue, if it helps anyone in the future I used this:
Microsoft FixIt utility at http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall/en-us to remove the remaining entries for Photoshop Lightroom.
Checked in Programs and Features (from the control panel) that there was nothing Lightroom related left, make sure you check under A for Adobe and L for Lightroom.
Reinstall from Creative Cloud, hopefully this will work for you.

  • Lightroom cc 5.5.3.0.0 installation error - 1624

    Hi,
Just purchased the Photoshop & Lightroom CC package. While Photoshop & Bridge installed without any errors, i get the below error on Lightroom. Any help appreciated.
    Exit Code: 7
Please see specific errors below for troubleshooting. For example,  ERROR:
    -------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------
    - 0 fatal error(s), 2 error(s)
    ----------- Payload: Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 5.3.0.0 Adobe_Lightroom_x64.msi_5.3 -----------

    MSI Error message:
ERROR: Third party payload installer Adobe_Lightroom_x64.msi failed with exit code: 1624

    Thanks very much Adam.
In frustration I decided to take the plunge and do as you suggested and Hey Ho. It has loaded complete with the licence number.
For anyone else following this exchange I did this>
Opened CC main load page on my desktop.
Went into Start -> and in the little box just above the start button type in %Temp%.
In my case this immediately brought up the folder temp which I then clicked on to open it.
I almost gave up at this point but used the search box at the top right above the list of folders and files.
I typed in  .msi and up came many examples but only one with adobe lightroom.
I simply clicked on this and it started loading the programme and as has been earlier described, the licence number had already been loaded correctly.
I have just tried lightroom and it works but I am also conscious of Dov Isaaac's warning that it doesnt correct all the problems. Fot the minute I seem to have a workaround though and thanks again Adam and Harish.
I am not very computer literate as you will see from this posting as I cannot get rid of the grey background. Perahps I should start a new forum entry. Thanks Guys.
