Lightroom 4.3.

I am experiencing two problems in Lightroom 4.3
The first is that when using an external editor ie Photo > Edit In > Elements 9 .... elements editor is launched but the image is not transferred into the Editor.
The second is that Lightroom does not recognise files I have edited in Elements and have saved to an external hardrive. It reads some of the tiff files but not, others similarly with Adobe photoshop files.
Any ideas please

Hi, thanks for your help. My mac is new but elements 9 of course is not. I could not find elements 9 editor or indeed support file you shown in your attachment. I think elements 9 either does not have it or the download was not correct. I did reinstall it but still no file.
I have however solved the problem by downloading a trial of elements 11 and setting it as the external editor in Lightroom, so I need to buy the update.tough but here goes.
The other problem I had in not getting Lightroom to read files from my external hardive may well be associated with the fact they are already in my catalogue albeit in an unaltered form. and different name I need to pursue this one further.
In the meanwhile very many thanks for your help, its good to know that there are people out there prepared to put time in to help others. Great Job

Runtime error in starting Lightroom

I receive the following message when I try to start Lightroom:

Runtime Error!
Program:...Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.2\lightroom.exe

Lightroom ran well for several days and then failed to open with the above message.
I have tried everything I know to do (uninstalled and reinstalled the application, restored the computer to a restore point before Lightroom was originally installed, etc.) and do not know were to go from here. Suggestions would be appreciated.
I am using Windows XP sp2 and have 4 GB of ram and 250 GB of hard disk space.

Lightroom imports photos to wrong folder

I've been importing lots of photos from my hard drive into lightroom and been moving/renaming them in the process. I only got lightroom a few weeks ago.
This has worked fine but i've recently imported a few hundred photos off my iphone and doing the same thing - move and rename. The trouble is, these photos keep going into the 2009 folder, instead of the 2012 or 2013 folders that they should be. When i look at the photos, they have the correct name, and the capture date seems to be correct, its just lightroom keeps wanting to put them in the wrong folder by year. Does anyone understand why this might be happening?
naturally I want all my photos sorted into the right date folders as this is the way ive decided to organise my photos...

hmm so still not making sense. it keeps wanting to import my photos into the wrong destination. have removed all the photo from lightroom. how do i change it so it automatically puts the photos into the corresponding year/month they were taken..
I understand its something in the import settings/destination but cant seem to change this. not sure what parts of the import box your wanting to see Dj.
the structure now is my pictures/2009/21-7-09 then its creating new year folders and sorting them within this 21-7-9 folder..
can't see to change this?

You might be quicker help posting in the LR forum rather than the ACR forum, but I believe the way to fix this is to delete the preview cache.
Find your catalog folder.
Close LR.
Within the catalog folder, delete the FOLDER called Catalog-Name Previews.lrdata
Start LR.

Is there a way to contact Lightroom help by phone? I have a complicated issue with missing files.

When I downloaded my photos into Lightroom today I used today's date on the folder, but got the year wrong, 2013. After I completed editing my entire photo session, and tried to export some of the images, I realized I had the date wrong on the folder. I used my Mac's "Finder" to locate the file and change the name to 2014, with the rest of the folder name. I see now that this was a mistake and I should have probably changed the file name IN lightroom instead. Now I cannot export because I am getting the message about the files being offline or missing. I have tried to correct this by changing the folder name back to the original incorrect name (year), but this did not solve it. I clicked on the question marks and tried to "find" the folder, but that did not work either. It would be nice to be able to save my work in editing, rather than to have to start over again. In addition, Lightroom now shows several extra folders with the same folder names have been created that I didn't plan or create, purposely at least : ) Now I am really confused as to how to fix this...

Can you show slideshow within Lightroom 4.4 (not export out from LR) in Adobe RGB color space provided that you are using a wide gamut monitor which is capable and hardware calibrated & profiled to show such color space?
If this is possible, what is required to do so in Windows 8 and i7-4770 & HD Graphics 4600 platform or does LR take care of it automatically?

Those settings are probably stored in a plist somewhere in ~/Library/Preferences. If you can locate the appropriate file, you should be able to copy it to all the network user folders.

Did you purchased the Full Perpetual License from Adobe for $149.00?, if so then what has happened is that you probably downloaded the Creative Cloud trial version which has now expired.
The license key for the perpetual version will not be accepted to activate the CC version.
Uninstall the existing Lightroom and then download the one available from the link below. The uninstall process will not affect your Catalog, Preferences or personal files but will just remove the application. Install the new download and you license key will be accepted.

I have hundreds of collections in Lightroom Mobile. Scrolling through them with only three at time visible on my iPad takes forever. A list view and/or small thumbnail view would greatly help navigation.
