Lightroom 4.4 Crashes when Printing
I recently upgraded from Lightroom 3 to Lightroom 4.4. I use a MacBook Pro, running OX v 10.8.3, with 8GB of RAM.
Since the upgrade Lightroom crashes whenever I try to print, to any of my printers. I could print without problems using Lightroom 3, and can still print from other applications.
Lightroom 4.4 can print to JPEG without crashing.
I have re-installed all my printers, but this has not made any change.

Any advice or suggestions would be really appreciated, as not being able to print is a major problem.

So, I had this problem tonight after experiencing no problems with Lightroom 4 previously. I noticed that in the print dialog box, where you can select to print "all" the pages or a page range, the page range radial was highlighted and the defined page range was "7" to "7". I was only printing one image so I changed the print range to "1" to "1". And it did the trick. Crazy, eh?

I've been using Macs since 1984. Have been using Xerox Phaser printers for ten years. But with the last update to OS 10.6.8 last summer, I've had problems with crashing when printing. My MacPro crashes when printing via ethernet prot with Xerox Phaser 6360DN or when the printer warms up. Worked fine with OS 10.6.7. Internet postings suggest this is a common problem for all Mac users with Xerox Phaser printers. Apple put out an update to 10.6.8 to address the problem. I downloaded it but it did not solve the problem. Have tried all the Xerox drivers along with Apple drivers. Can't solve the problem. Xerox says it's an Apple problem. Does anyone KNOW how to solve the problem?

Is anyone else experience their browser crashing when printing webpage to PDF? This only happens in IE8. This feature works fine in firefox.

When Lightroom first displays the image, it shows the JPG preview which includes your camera custom white balance settings. (This is probably also what you see in Finder)Then a few seconds later it renders the RAW image, with none of the JPG editing and with none of your camera settings applied. That is what you see in Lightroom.
There is no way to turn this off.
You then need to apply your own Lightroom edits to this RAW image to make it look pleasing. -
Indesign CC 2014 crashes when printing to Fiery server
This is to remind Adobe that issues printing to Fiery print servers from Indesign CC 2014 (10.0 or 10.1) on Mac have not been resolved.
A patch has been provided here: InDesign & Illustrator | Crash while printing to Fiery RIP | MacOS --- however, the problem persists after patching. I should note that the fix at that link only pertains to Indesign 10.0. If you download Indesign 2014 from Creative Cloud you would, at this time, receive 10.1. That script will break 10.1 completely. There is no fix for 10.1.

After speaking to Adobe on the phone, they tell me this isn't resolved yet because it affects only a small subset of people. I called some peers at other agencies across my region and learned they all use Indesign with Fiery servers. We are not an isolated few! (those fortunate individuals I spoke to are still using CS6 -- and I received some jovial ribbing for having my on-going CC subscription.) I have a lot of printing to do on the Fiery now that these projects are finishing, but i'm held up while down-saving these projects to be used in CC (9.x). Its frustrating, its time-consuming, and its simply unacceptable to CC subscribers as we move in to 2015. Bad crash when printing to pdf in Morningstar software - is it a 64 bit problem?
Had bad crash when printing to pdf in Morningstar Principia Pro software - is it a 64 bit compatability problem? All other software I have can print
to Acrobat pdf, but in Morningstar the Window 7 PC freezes and not even Task manager can
unfreeze the computer. Acrobat worked fine in my old XP 32 bit PC when printing from Morningstar. Recently a webinar using
an Adobe webinar software I was told I must only use a 32 bit browser, so I suspect Acrobat is incompaitble with my new 64 bit PC. Work around solution is to print to Microsoft XPS and then convert to Acrobat but I want to use Acrobat only! Is there a patch for people using 64 bit PCs?

export to Excel or Word. The only crash is when printing an Acrobat pdf from Morningstar Principia Pro I get a bad crash. The work around is to print to XPS and then convert the XPS file to Acrobat pdf. To get out of the crash which can't be fixed by Windows Task Manager shut down, is to open the printer file and tell the printer to delete the pending print job.
I'm using latest Version 9.3.4 Standard Acrobat; Win 7 Pro 64 bit, 10 g of RAM, HPE 390t standalone PC, no networking. -

I have the latest OS 10.8.3 and just recently Mail and Preview constantly crashes when printing.
It seems that it is missing a plug in or something. Error messge is Mail quit unexpectedly when using the est-e-Filing-pdes plugin.
Same message in Preview.
Actually I have experience more crashing (with Numbers) since last update.

RaoulLaunch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

Still in the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the process. The report name starts with the name of the crashed process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful. -

Uninstalled and reinstalled Flash. No change. The only thing that seems to consistently resolve the problem is disabling the Flash plugin.
I tried creating a new profile, but when I transfer the data suggested in this:

I get an error window when opening firefox with the new profile ...something about security settings not working correctly...but I can print every time even though the Flash plugin appears to be installed and enabled. So I assume there is some kind of problem with my current profile. Any suggestions on how to find and correct it or a way to get most of my data into a new profile...that works...would be appreciated. -

Thanks for any help!Now I have noticed other programs, if shut down (such as spysweeper or registry mechanic) will not restart unless they are stopped as a process.
It is frustrating to deal with vista the last 2 years. Should have stayed with XP Professional.
As for firewalls, no change if I switch to the Windows version or not.
I know now to start the task manager and leave it in the tray while I work on the web site.

Lightroom 5.4 crashes when attempting to print.
I am working on a MacBook Pro running Maverick and currently printing to an Epson Artisan 50. Earlier in the spring, after a previous LR update, every time I tried to print the application crashed. It did not matter which printer I was using (I also have an Epson Stylus Pro 3800), or if I was printing to a JPEG file. All other printing works fine, including from Photoshop CC. I could not find a solution, but I had to go out of town for several weeks, and by the time I returned Lightroom had been updated again, and I was able to print. I assumed the problem was somewhere in the previous version. Over the weekend Lightroom was updated to version 5.4, and yesterday crashed when I attempted to print. I am at my wits end, as I much prefer the quality of prints from LR, and I have several projects in the pipeline. The crash report follows, but I do not know how to decipher it. Needless to say, when the report is sent on to Adobe, the message I get back is that there is no solution to the problem.

Using the Print Module, LR3 crashes when selecting Acrobat 9 to print to a PDF.
Sometimes I will get away with printing a single file on one pages but
mostly it crashes.
Does anyone else have this problem?

Error message or program crashing when printing on Epson printer
In July 2008, I upgraded my computer from a MacBook to a MacBook Pro (and bought a Time Machine so that all my files are backed up regularly!) I then bought my wife a MacBook Pro in November 2008. We both used to have iBook G4s.
We have an Epson EPL-6200 Laser Printer that we print from using our Airport Express. It used to work fine printing documents from any program and printing wirelessly from the iBook G4 computers we had when we bought the printer around three years ago.
But since I have switched to a MacBook and now a MacBook Pro, I have all kinds of problems printing on the Epson EPL-6200 printer. At first, my MacBook did not print remotely at all. I had long conversations with both Apple and Epson, knowing there was a problem with the Epson driver. To top it off, the problems seemed worst with Microsoft Office, so both of them also said it was Microsoft's fault!
Now that Epson has upgraded its drivers and I have dowloaded the latest one, and switched to a MacBook Pro, I can print some files easily -- Word documents now print immediately, although I get an error message saying that the printer is not connected. But trying to print from other programs such as Firefox either takes a very long time (around 5-8 minutes for one page) or causes the program to crash.
Any ideas? The strange thing is that my wife's computer and mine are exactly the same (running Mac OS X version 10.5.6) but behave slightly differently when printing. I can print from Firefox, albeit after a long time per page, whereas if she tries to print from her computer in that program it instantly crashes.
I guess we still have driver issues with the Epson EPL-6200.
But I have looked on the Apple support forums and there seem to be a lot of printer-related issues like this. Do you guys have any suggestions? Or is there a printer that will work well with our MacBook Pros, an Airport Express and/or Time Machine (we have both) and when printing remotely?

well, i use the below machines with the current mac os (10.5.6).
i (kind of often) had issues with the network printer epson epl-6200.
of which every issue could be resolved by myself, more or less quickly.
i.e. until the last update (10.5.6).
none of my machines is able to get anything through the network to the printer.
at least they don't get the printer to print a page.
today i spent (almost) the whole day, trying out things to get it fixed this time.
none of it worked.
just to let you know:
i can access the printer through its http-interface.
i can ping it.
it gets recognized by the printer/fax-dialog in the system-preferences.
here's what i tried so far:
i tried to install the osx driver for the epl-6200 with every single protocol that's available in osx (i.e.: Appletalk, IPP, Bonjour, EPSON (IP), etc.)
i of course tried to update the driver with the latest software available on the epson-website. and did the thing with the different protocols again.
i tried the "generic" postscript driver of osx, too.
then it was getting interesting:
i tried to get "cups" for the epl-6200. i don't want to get into details here, but to drop some names:
foomatic-rip (combined with ghostscript)

gutenprint (doesn't have an epl-6200 driver included)
pxlmono (doesn't have an epl-6200 driver included)
to sum that up:
there are two drivers on the "openprinting"-site (foomatic). but one is (of course) the official epson driver.

well, i downloaded it, installed the required additional software (foomatic + ghostscript), all very fine. i could choose it in the osx printer setup menu.
but:
my printer still won't print a single page.
the error messages i got:
other than the above post none of my programs ever crashed, or was "dead slow".
but:
the printing job got constantly stopped, i could restart it, but it was then stopped again. without any error message.
there was the same thing with the halt of the printer (also monitored in the printing cue window). i could restart it, but it would stop again. without any error message.
but i also got two decent error messages: :))
the first involved the pdftoescpage.app, either it was failing (shown in the printer cue window), or it was crashing (i got the error message in a separate window popping up). according to folks on the net this malfunction involved user permissions, so i to set up the "right" permissions (giving everybody the right to do anything (rwx) - i know i shouldn't have :)) ). but it didn't help. still crashing or failing.
the second decent error message, finally:
"double free" - what that meant, i cannot tell.
conclusion:
i don't know. :))
required action:
i will await the next osx update, and hope it'll be fixed then. :))
