Lightroom 4 Adjustment Brush/General compatibility with CS6 beta

Hi the LR4 adjustment brush colour selection is not accurate, is there a fix?
Compatibility between LR4 and CS6 beta does not give the same results as LR3.6 and CS5.5, it is chalk and cheese and to get even near the same result takes a lifetime!

Printing with CS6 Beta on Epson 2880 ?

I'm having the same problem printing with CS6 Beta that I have with CS5 (but not with CS4): the colors are grayer than appear on my calibrated MacBook Pro screen. A difference with CS6 Beta is a redder red, but stil the same grayed out colors.
I've coordinated all the settings in CS, have an up to date printer driver, but the problem occurs regardless of the settings (ex. various printer profiles). I'm wasting a lot of ink and paper.
Hoped this would be fixed in CS6 Beta.
Any solutions?

If unchecking the scene-referred profiles box clears the display problem in Photoshop, you most likely have hit a known bug with defective monitor profiling packages building defective monitor profiles that affect Photoshop and After Effects — specifically, the defective profile is erroneously marked as "scene referred."
Version 4 ICC Profiles: If your are using v4 printing profiles, try Googling for more information...some symptoms of this bug are Photoshop prints a light cyan or blue in the page white areas. The Fix is to use Version 2 printer profiles.
there is another old known issue that has to do with trying to Hard Proof simulate press conditions (printing cyan in whites) but i am not sure what you are trying and i can't recall it right now

Cannot achieve the same result with CS6 beta/LR4

Hi I have LR4 and I am trying to work with it in combination with CS6 Beta and try as I might I cannot achieve the same result or anything like, its like working with a blunt chisel.
I am reverting to LR3.6 and CS5, I dont have the time to spend all day faffing about, there might be a few more tricks but they are worth diddly squat if it wont do the basics, curves awkward, levels awkward, something is wrong!!

Lightroom adjustment brush inconsistent with Camera Raw

I love Lightroom's adjustment brushes, but I find it annoying that I can't use them to take saturation all the way to monochrome, even with the saturation slider turned down all the way. Today, I noticed that in Camera Raw 5.4, the same thing is NOT true - you can remove color completely with an adjustment brush.
Surprised at this difference, I wondered what would happen when I loaded the ACR-adjusted file back into Lightroom. Lo and behold, Lightroom showed the result of the adjustment brush the same way as ACR, with all color removed. Excellent!
But what would happen if I changed that adjustment brush in Lightroom? Would it "forget" what I had done in ACR and revert to its normal behavior? No, it continued to behave just as it had in ACR. But in the same photo, a brush created in Lightroom did not behave the same way. So clearly, it was something to do with which program created the brush.
Then I took a look at my XMP file, and it became (somewhat) clear what's going on. This is one of the XMP attributes for the brush created in ACR:
<crs:MaskValue>1.000000</crs:MaskValue>
And here's the same attribute for the brush created in Lightroom:
<crs:MaskValue>0.375000</crs:MaskValue>
The obvious next question is, what happens if you change MaskValue from 0.375000 to 1.000000? Answer: The brush starts behaving like an ACR brush.
Now, this is kind of cool. I can get the behavior I want in Lightroom, by editing the XMP file by hand. On the other hand, editing XMP files isn't really my favorite thing. Is there some setting in Lightroom that can be used to achieve a MaskValue of 1.000000 for adjustment brushes? I couldn't find one, but hey, there are a lot of settings...

Ian, thank you! It was indeed Density that did the trick. I mistakenly thought Density had nothing to do with it, because you have to set it before you create a new brush stroke. (Each individual stroke of a particular adjustment brush can have a different Density value, along with the other Brush attributes like Size.) So I was changing it for my existing brush strokes, foolishly expecting it to work like the Effect sliders, and seeing no effect.
Jao, my flow was set to 100 all along, so I don't think that was my problem. It really seems to have been Density.

Lightroom Adjustment Brushes not showing in Photoshop Camera Raw

I hope someone can answer this for me please
I prefer to do my RAW editing in Lightroom (that's just the way I like to do it) but now I want to send the image off to photoshop to build a poster with the same image. So I open Photoshop and then choose Place Embedded from the File menu. The Adobe Camera Raw 8.6 Dialouge opens and I was expecting to see all my develop settings the same as well as the Adjustment Brushes but for some reason the brushes aren't showing???
Why is this and is there a way to fix it simply?

You could open the file in photoshop as a smart object from lightroom.
Or in lightroom you could go to Photo>Save Metadata to File, which i believe overwrites the original xmp file if you've already
opened it in photoshop camera raw or creates a new xmp file in the same folder as the camera raw file.
Either way, when you place embedded in photoshop the adjustment brush settings should be there.

Lightroom Adjustment Brush Use for windows

In Using the adjustment brush with exposure mode active I get a light red/pink color over the area the brush is used, this is not the mask that shows up when the curser is put over the pin. I also can not not make real time adjustment but when I click the adjustment brush to turn it off I can see the changes I tried to make. Any comments are suggestion would be welcome.

Lightroom adjustment brush not working

My adjustment brush was working fine, I took a break, and when I came back the brush won't do anything. The pin appears but the image doesn't change. I've tried adjusting size, feather, and flow all over the scale, and I've pushed the exposure down as far as it will go so I can see if anything happens. None of the regular exposure, highlight, shadow... settings are doing anything. It is showing up in the history bar but no change to the image.
I have tried closing and reopening the program and restarting the computer. It's been several days and I still can't get it to work

Usage limitations on files created with CS6 beta?

My gut tells me that the cs6 beta falls under the cs6 license sections "Non-Serialized Software" and "Evaluation software" which state:
"...for demonstration, evaluation, and training purposes only, and only if any Output Files or other materials produced through such use are used only for internal, non-commercial, and non-production purposes."
Am I correct in assuming that this applies to all files created with the cs6 beta? I don't see this discussed anywhere which makes me wonder. I have made some nice progress on one of my files and now I'm wondering if I have to stop and redo everything in my old version. I don't want to sink much time into the beta if nothing I create is publicly usable.
Official clarification would be appreciated.

It's completely awkward that I haven't realised this so far, usually I export everything to PNG -> resize PNG with ACDSee -> convert to JPEG and then forget about it Thank you for clearing this up!

My adjustments regardless of the effect I choose suddently are showing up on the photo in red color. What can I do to get the adjustment brush back to normal operation?

Hit the "O" key to toggle the "overlay".

SFP- Is Sony HXR-NX5 Camcorder compatable with CS6 Premiere Pro ?

My footage loses quality after importing into to Adobe. I record in1920x1080 30p HD and I set import in Premiere Pro to AVCHD 1920x1080 30p.
I had shot a live music video a 25 min song and the flash drive bumped to a new clip after 2.5 gig in the middle of a song. I called sony and they told me to import to Sony's content utility manger then bring it to a file. It worked, the the 25 min footage imported as one clip. When I reviewed the footage from the utility import it was great. Then bringing into Premiere Pro it was grainy and washed out compared to the original footge in the Sony content utility manager. Dissapointed to say the least. Is there a cure. Should'nt it be the same Quality? I view the footage at full resalution in Premiere Pro.

Dreamweaver 3 compatability with CS6

I have created a 48 page website using Dreamweaver 3. I have now upgraded to Dreamweaver CS6. Can I import the website created in 3 and make it work properly as I would hate to have to start all over again from scratch.

All you need to do is go to Site > Manage Sites > and create a site definition that tells DW CS6 where to your find your current site files.

General compatibility with Windows

I'm a new Mac user and was wondering what I need to do to have the basic office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) working in my Apple environment.

Another option, install Parallels or Fusion then install Windows and MS Office. Use Excel, Word, and other Office applications in the virtual Windows machine running in either Parallels or Fusion.

Local Adjustment Brush does not work in Windows 7, 64-bit

All other tools and functions work OK. My issue is just with the Adjustment Brush; The Adjustment Panel opens when the brush is selected and the brush moves, but none of the adjustments are applied to the image. The problem is clearly related to the new operating system. This was just confirmed, by removing the hard drive with the Windows 7, 64-bit OS, and inserting an old hard drive with Windows Vista, 32-bit installed. The adjustment brush works fine with the old OS and the same version of PS.
My normal monitor resolution is 1920 x 1200 with a DPI of 151; however, this DPI is not compatible with PS, so I reset it to 149 evey time I use PS. Lower screen resolutions and DPI settings don't resolve the problem. I mention this only because of a previous cursor problem that was resolved by changing the DPI.
I'm using CS4 with Camera Raw version 5.6. Version 5.5 also does not work.
Can anyone offer suggestions?

Problem solved. One of the recent upgrades to Camera Raw reset the flow rate to zero, which I did not notice until after posting the message.

Why my key assignment for key resets when i restart ps cs6 beta?

i've been using the shortcut ctrl+< but now with cs6 beta, it changes it into ctrl+& when i restart the program even if i save the preferences.
i think you start to use xml for keyboard shortcuts preference file(.kys) but this blocks me to use the only not assigned and close key near ctrl, shift and alt
could there be a solution for this?

i use it for application menu > layer > layer style > copy layer style and related commads. for paste layer style shift+ctrl+< and clear layer style alt+ctrl+<
even i tried it for application menu > file > new but it acts like the same. i start ps cs6, i assign the shortcuts it works.. untill i restart the ps cs6. then it doesn't recognize the shortcuts i assigned.
as i said i've checked the .kys file with a text editor. in prev version(cs5) the .kys file seems full of symbols
but when i save it from ps cs6 it is xml coding and the < key seems like that in it;

and it is like that in ps cs6 keyboard shortcuts and menu
