Lightroom 4 does not recognize Photoshop 6.

When I go to Photo - Edit In, Photoshop is greyed out. I have reinstalled Lightroom 4 and that did not work.

It does not work in the library or develop module. Yes the photo is selected. It is a .dng file. I am working in Windows 7 home premium 64 bit. The computer is a new Samsung Series 7. Here are its specs.
2.2GHz Intel Core i7-2675QM Quad-Core
8GB of DDR3 RAM
750GB Hard Drive (5400rpm)
AMD Radeon HD 6490 Graphics (512MB)
15.6" HD+ Matte LED-Backlit Display
1600 x 900 Native Resolution
I have been trying for several days and finally tried reinstalling Lightroom 4, but that did not help. I had Photoshop 6 installed on my old computer with Lightroom 3. I reinstalled them on my new computer. Then decided to upgrade to Lightroom 4. After the reinstallation, the Edit In has not worked for Photoshop. I have several other programs that do work. Color EFX Pro, Silver EFX Pro, and Dfine, all NIK software.

  • Lightroom does not recognize Photoshop CS2

I installed on my notebook and all is well.
However, I installed on my desktop and Lightroom does not see that Photoshop CS2 is installed.
I'm sure a full re-install of CS2 then Lightroom would fix it...but I'm hoping for a less painful way of fixing this?
    Thanks!
    Greg

Ok - right after posting the message, I found my own answer back on the beta messageboard.
    Here's how to fix it:
    1) Run regedit.exe from start menu->run
    2) Look for this folder:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\photoshop.exe
In that folder, there should be a key "Path" and its value should be the folder where Photoshop CS2 (or any other Photoshop version) is installed."
My registry didn't have that folder, so I created it and added a "Path" key with the value being the path to Photoshop CS2: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\

  • Lightroom Does not Find Photoshop

I just installed Lightroom and have been toying with it.
I have Photoshop CS2 installed in the default location, but in Lightroom, under Edit > Preferences, in the External Editors Tab, it states "Edit in Adobe Photoshop (not found)." The option to Edit in Photoshop under Photo is greyed out.
Is there any way I can tell Lightroom where Photoshop is located?
As it is now, I have set up my Additional External Editor as Photoshop, but I am unsure if it is maxamizing compatibility when I save the file, and I'd really rather know why it did not find Photoshop on the install or first run?
    Any help greatly appreciated.

Check out 'Lightroom does not recognize Photoshop CS2 - Windows' under 'Compatibility Issues' at

  • Lightroom does not recognize the raw format of files loading from my Nikon AW1 and loads them as jpegs. I know there are updates that would allow this camera to be recognized as shooting raw but I haven't been able to work it out. Any help out there?

Lightroom does not recognize the raw files (necs?) coming in from my Nikon AW1. It loads them as jpegs. I know it is possible to update Lightroom so it knows my Nikon but I can't get it to work.
I would like files to be loaded as .dng.

update by downloading the files directly and then applying them for lr 4 and earlier,  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/
for lr 5.7.1, the last lr 5 update, use the below link:

I bought a Nikon D7100. Lightroom does not recognize the Nef Raw files what am I doing wrong?

Thank you for your response. I fixed the problem by simply importing the
images using windows rather than the Nikon Transfer.

  • Lightroom does not Recognize Capture Date

I have a lot of slides that I am scanning into Digital images.
The Nikon CoolScan does not include a capture date in the .jpg file so I add one using the ExifPilot program.
All other programs that I have tried correctly recognize this EXIF data, including Adobe Photoshop Elements. But the Lightroom does NOT recognize it and the file gets put into the library under "Unknown Date" Attempts to change the date with the Metadata/Edit Capture Time command do not work.
Any Ideas on what could fix the problem?

Yes, this is a problem, not only with files from scanner. I started a threat
called "Date/Time, Exif and Lightroom" on March 6 about that - have a look
    there. Alas, no solution.

  • Lightroom says that I have the latest version, but Lightroom does not recognize RAW captures from my new Panasonic DMC-GH4. When will an update for this camera be available?

Lightroom says that I have the latest version, but Lightroom does not recognize RAW captures from my new Panasonic DMC-GH4. When will an update for this camera be available?

The GH4 must be very new as it’s not listed in Adobe’s supported cameras, so wait until the next version of LR.  Usually there is one every 3-4 months with a release-candidate available at Adobe Labs before that:  http://labs.adobe.com/

  • Lightroom does not open photoshop using  "Edit in adobe photoshop CC-" command.

I updated lightroom and photoshop using the CC desktop. (LR V5.3 x64, PS V14.6.2 x64) This broke the “Edit in adobe photoshop CC…” command.
Based on advice from this forum, I unistalled both programs completely and reinstalled them.  The
“Edit in adobe photoshop CC…” command is still broken.
Is there a way to fix this?  I use this feature frequently.

    In reply to DdeGannes:
What’s broken?  --  The “Edit in adobe photoshop CC…” command does not open photoshop and the file as it did before the upgrade.
Is the "edit in function" not available? -- It is visible in the edit it menu.
    Was it working before?  Yes.
What happens if you click? -  Nothing.
Do you get an error message?  - No.

  • My computer does not recognize Photoshop CS5 Extended disc

my computer does not recognize CS5 Extended disc. Can anyone help me?

if you follow all 7 steps you can dl a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html
    and activate with your serial.
if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps.  the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

  • Lightroom does not recognize external disk in some backups

    Strange thing:
I have opened LR (5.3)  today. Last time was a few days ago.
I have 2 ext harddisks. 1st is called WDPhotoDrive with station letter 'F' and 2th is called WDPhotoDriveBackUp with stationletter 'G'.
This is so since a couple of years. Suddenly LR does not see F anymore in the latest backups. It sees the folders in G, that's a bit strange because they are not there. G is only used for import backup.
And there are question marks everywhere.
When I open a backup catalogue from two weeks ago or older then LR recognizes both drives and the folders in the wright drive (F). But then I miss some work from the last weeks of course.
I really don't know what happened. Last time (few days) ago I just closed the program like always  and with backup.
    Anyone??
    Regards,
    Michel
    The Netherlands

    Thanx.
No, Windows (or I) hasn't changed a thing. It sees them as F and G.
Strange is that LR sees F and G correct in an older backup and not in backups from the last two weeks. Then it sees the exact folders (but with ?) but on the G drive. And they are on the F drive.

  • Extrnal drive in after a shutdown and it came up a different letter. Now Lightroom does not recognize any of my photos..

I plugged  my external drive in after removing it to clean the computer. HP PC. When I plugged the external drive in again the drive letter changed and Lightroom could not find any of my photos 11,000 or so of them. I have tried the usual recommendations of locating etc and nothing has worked. The only thing I can do is load them one sub folder at a time. What is the easiest way to re locate all of my photos. No one so far has an answer, only the easy recommended ones which have not worked for me.Please help, i am soo frustrated have spend all afternoon trying things to no avail. If you haven't already guessed, I am not very computer literate

. Can I simple "Import them" back into Lightroom?
    No
It is very disappointing that Lightroom can be so adversly affected by simply disconnecting tlhlen reconnecting a  drive. The computert runs much better, by the way, now that it is relatively dust free.
It should be a simple fix. But if you start moving things in Lightroom instead of changing the drive letter, it becomes less simple.

  • Lightroom does not recognize serial number...help!

    Hello,
I had the same issue on my other computer, which was resolved a few months ago. I download Lightroom and when I type in my serial number, it gives me a red X, indicating that the number is incorrect. I triple-checked it, and it is not. When I spoke with the customer service rep, she guided me through a process in which I had to uninstall my current version (5.4 I believe), install an older version (4.something), and used the serial number with that version. It worked! However, I lost the transcript of our conversation and I can't remember which version I was supposed to download, leaving me unable to use Lightroom on my other computer. Anyone know what I should do?
    Thank you

I tried anouther part of the site and was able to get it,  am thinking the instructions were just wierd and seemed to say that I should append the two small numbers but I really should just of used the singular 7 digit SN.

  • AAMEE does not recognize PhotoShop Elements 12

Whenever I try to use AAMEE on Photoshop Elements 12 and point it to the installation folder where I see Setup.exe, AAMEE states "A vaild installer could not be found".  I'm at a loss on what to do next.  Another article stated I should be pointing to where I see an OEM.exe, but there is no such thing in the Photoshop Elements folders.
