Lightroom 4 on Mac OS

I can't open the file Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.pkg. There is a message that says it cannot open this file and that I should eject the disk image. I have an iMac running on Mac OS 10.7.5, 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, with 6 GB of RAM. Please help. Thanks.

You should get a button with open on it that is not the default. Hitting
that should bypass the security.
If this doesn't work, try downloading the installer from:
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_lightroom
You can just enter your serial in that to get the fully operational
version. I just downloaded it and it opens correctly in 10.8.

I am having issues with my web module on Lightroom 4 (Mac OS 10.9.5). "an unknown error occurred" while trying to upload to my FTP (no changes in my FTP). Bandaid fix was to export to local folder and upload via Filezilla. However, now that is no longer working and although upload completes, the URL takes you to a "Forbidden - do not have permission to read this file" page. Lightroom is changing the permissions of each file to 000 instead of 644 for index files and 755 for all others. How can I change the permissions settings in Lightroom?

  • Lightroom 5, Mac. Problem with the Radial Tool. Marquee Lines disappear.

Lightroom 5 Mac. Problem with the Radial Tool. I use this tool a lot. I must have hit a hot key by accident because between photos the marquee lines have disappeared and i don't know how to get them back. Without the marquee lines there I cannot rotate or expand the radial tool.

I have attempted to uninstall, empty trash and a fresh download from Adobe. The problem is still there...

  • How do I import from Photoshop elements 12 to Lightroom for Mac OS?

How do I import from Photoshop elements 12 to Lightroom for Mac OS?

I never did it from Windows to Mac.
I assume you need to move everything to Mac PSE12 (or PSE 13) by downloading the 30 day free trial of PSE 12 or 13, and then once everything is working, use File->Upgrade Photoshop Elements Catalog in Lightroom. Your tags and albums will remain intact. I believe the face recognition transfers as well to keywords, but the location in the photo of the face will be gone as Lightroom has no such feature.

  • Lightroom and MAC Pro (intel) after Snow Leopard Upgrade?

I have heard several horror stories about serious operational problems with Lightroom and MACs after they have upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard.
I have been trying to get to the bottom of it, but all I have been able to glean is that yes, there are some issues, but I can't find out cause and effect.
Since I heard of the things I have not opened any Adobe Software, and won't until I can be assured that I too don't experience the same horror story.
Are there any people out there that have experienced any of these problems?  If so, do you know what caused them, and, more importantly, how to fix them?
Thank you for any help and direction you can provide.

Some users have reported that Edit in Photoshop CSx functionality is partially broken (e.g. Open as Smart Object launches Photoshop, but image doesn't actually open).
With Photoshop (and many other applications) there are reports of the application crashing when the user tries to save a JPG file.
    Source of problem? Snow Leopard
Is it really the problem that some would have you believe? Nope
Are there any workarounds? Ask Apple
BTW: I use Snow Leopard and don't have a problem recommending it to others.

  • Adobe Lightroom for Mac OS version 10.6.8?

Is there an Adobe Lightroom for Mac OS version 10.6.8?  I have a trial one but can't download it onto my computer

    Hi jdnels37,
Here are the tech specs required for different versions of Lightroom.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/system-requirements-lightroom.html
You can try with Lightroom 5, though it is not tested & approved with 10.6.8, if that doesnt work, go for lightroom 4.

  • Lightroom for Mac, PowerBook G4, Operating system OS X 10.2

    Hello all
Is there a version of Lightroom that can be downloaded for Mac, PowerBook G4, Operating system OS X 10.2. I have tried Lightroom 1.1 but that needs 10.4 or above. Any advice is appreciated.

No way. A lot of the system-level things that LR requires are 10.4 only.
Time to upgrade your machine ;-)

  • Problem with opening up Lightroom 4 (MAC)

    Hello!
I bought LIghtroom 4 via Amazon (MAC), installation was running fine, the serial number could be typed in as well, but then the registration form just shut down, the program did not start and nothing happened at all.
How can the issue be solved? I need to work with lightroom quite urgently...
    Kind Regards,
    Fee Tschörtner

    Hi Lee Jay,
    Thanks! It worked!
Well, I can now watch a couple of videos until the error occurs, and then do as you described, and then again watch a couple of videos.
I don't have to boot my machine - great
Do you know anything else about this problem? Why it's there at all?
Hopefully there will soon be an update.
    Thanks again!

  • How to Uninstall Lightroom for Mac

I just upgraded to Version 2, I want to uninstall version 1 without effecting V.2, Ive looked everywhere for the uninstaller, to no avail.

    hamish niven wrote:
Neither of those methods will competely remove lightroom 1.0 from your mac, there is a super little app that uninstalls everything related to a program, library files, caches, etc etc
Its called appzapper. It traces through all the relevant files and removes them all.
I dont know whether lightoom 2 uses the same caches, etc etc
    Just my observation

Then maybe you should NOT be recommending this. Good way to lose Presets, Galleries and other related items. Just do as the earlier repliers suggest.

  • How do I import photos from iPhoto to Lightroom on mac book air?

Iv'e read in several forums that to do this you must go into the finder right click on iPhoto.  Click show package contents.   This pulls up a file named contents.   All of the forums say to either look for a masters file or a original file and copy and paste it to the desktop. This is supposed to then allow lightroom to see the packaged file.   I can't seem to find either file.  Im not sure if its because the forum is outdated or if they just completely changed the name of the file with a newer update.   Either way I tried to do this with a couple of the files I thought might work i.e.. library, mac os.   Nothing has worked.   I am very new to using mac.  I just literally bought this computer yesterday so I really don't want to try to much blindly but being able to edit images with professional software is the whole reason why I bought it.    Pleases Help!!!!!!

I just looked on my computer and it appears that they moved the folder location.  In Finder, go to the "pictures" folder and then right click on the iPhoto library and select show package contents.  I was then able to find a Masters Library with a bunch of sub folders that contained the files.
I think the issue is that you were selecting the iPhoto application.
    Hope this helps.

  • Lightroom 3+ (Mac OSX) Spinning Beach Ball on Import only?

    Hello --
When I first starting using Lightroom 3 on my 27" quad-core iMac, detection of an inserted memory card (Compact Flash or SDHC) was instantaneous.  It's one of the things that really attracted me to Lightroom -- plug in, and go!
Sometime after around 3.2 or so, the spinning beach ball (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spinning_wait_cursor) started appearing for about 60 to 120 seconds every time I inserted a card.  I first thought it might be the cheap $10 Compact Flash USB 2.0 reader I was using, so I invested in a firewire reader from Synchrotech, since it appears the Lexar one has disappeared off of the market.  No change.
      Here are some other facts:
    - This happens every time I import with no exception.
    - Once the spinning beach ball goes away, performance is as expected (very fast).
    - The spinning beach ball almost never appears anywhere else in Lightroom.
    - Outside of Lightroom, the finder recognizes the cards immediately after inserting, and I can get to the files and copy them without any issue.
    - I have tried Sandisk and Lexar cards of a variety of speeds and sizes.  No difference.
    - The problem happens with catalogs that already have images and brand new catalogs (no difference in performance).
    - My catalogs are stored on local disk, and the photo files are located on a fileshare over GB ethernet.  This environment has been the same before and after I experienced the spinning beach ball during import.
    - During the spinning beach ball, the network switch is "bored," so I have a pretty good idea that the Mac isn't trying to scour or index the fileshare.
    - I have updated to the latest:  the just-released Lightroom 3.4.  No change.
    - I have tried both the "automatically bring up the Import dialog on card insert" as well as the manual approach where I have to click on Import in the Library module.  I have also tried going into the Import section and then inserting a card.  All have the same effect -- a guaranteed beach ball when Lightroom figures out a card is there.
I hope someone else is experiencing this issue and can give me a tip or two to make it go away.  Two minutes to wait for the system to do absolutely nothing every time I put in a card is ridiculous!
    -- Justin

a lock file is created every time LR is opened. It stops the database being accessed by more than one application. Sometimes, due to an improper shut down of LR the lock file remains. As  you have discovered, in this case, you cannot open LR until you delete the lock file.
