Lightroom 4 serial numer not working for lightroom 5

I downloaded the triel version of lightroom 5 and entered by lightroom 4 serial number and it has a x at the end and it is not taking it. Having read some of the other forums I thought all you had to do to updgrade was install and enter the 4 serial. Pleas let me know what I need to do to resovle this issue.

We’ve had several questions around who is eligible for an upgrade to Lightroom 5.  Any Lightroom 1, 2 3, or 4 version of Lightroom, education editions included, can utilize the upgrade version of Lightroom 5.  The prior version of Lightroom does not need to be installed on the computer, however you will need the prior version serial number at the time of installation of Lightroom 5.  If the prior version is still installed on the computer, Lightroom 5 will automatically pick up that serial number so you don’t need to go digging through boxes or your email."
You still have to pay for the upgrade. This says that LR5 will automatically read your LR4 serial number but you still have to buy a LR 5 serial number.

    You have to install Lightroom 5.4 through the CC Application Manager. Before you can do this proceed as follows.
    Uninstall the LR 5.4 trial (Mac drag the application from your Application sub folder) win use the Control Panel feature to uninstall. Your user presets, catalog etc will remain in place.Reboot your system then open the CC Application Manager and the LR download should be available for download. You will not have to actually input the serial number.
    Both applications are the same just the licensing procedure is different in the Creative Cloud.

    I am trying to install the Design Standard CS 5.5 but am having trouble with Photoshop.  All of the programs installed and open correctly except for Photoshop.  When I try to launch it, the Adobe Application Manager comes up saying that the serial number is "not valid for this product."  The serial seemed to work during the install and both InDesign and Illustrator launch without any problems.  I have also tryed uninstalling and then reinstalling Photoshop, but I still have the same problem.  I am running Mac OS X 10.6.8.

    I just want access to the product I bought. Can anybody help me?

    I have legit CC serial number but it fails when I enter the last number. Version of LR I have is a trial version. I cannot download new version as the apps section fails when I try to run the pulldown Mac OS window. It says to contact customer service. You go to chat, they are hopeless. All my other CC apps run fine on this computer and LR runs on my other computer. What do I do next? How do I talk with someone who know the problem?

    I don't know what the point of that answer is but it is false. You don't need to enter your CC serial number into the downloaded version. The downloaded version cooresponds to the perpetual license version. What I would do is uninstall the trial and then see if LR is available from the Adobe Creative Cloud app. If it is not then log off from inside the Adobe Creative Cloud app, restart your computer and then log in inside the Adobe Creative Cloud app. Hopefully Lightroom will then be available.

  • Plugin not working for lightroom

    I have multiple plugins for my lightroom and the only one that is working is perfect effects.  They are all installed correctly, but they just aren't working.  Is this issue known?  I've contacted the plugin manufacturers and they all confirm it's a lightroom issue, but adobe won't help me.... this is so very frustrating.

    Brett, I spent 2.5 hours on the phone with support last week and specifically said that they all stopped working when I changed how I was using my catalogs...... I even gave up control of my computer for the technician to look at everything.  So, yeah, I gave that info many times.  As soon as I said the word "plugin", they told me they couldn't offer support of any kind.  Even when I told them they had always worked fine until I started using multiple catalogs and I felt that the new catalog usage was the issue.  Either way, I figured it out.  Just wish it hadn't cost me 2 weeks of no working plugins.

    I don't know where else to get advice soon.
    I bought CS3 Wed Standard, installed it and entered the
    serial number and all worked fine.... for about 3 weeks and then
    yesterday I was working in DW and closed it and then a while later
    tried to open it and was faced with the screen asking for the
    serial number, which when I enter it says is invalid!!
    I tried to uninstall but got an error message. Tried to
    re-install and also got an error message - telling me to use the
    original disk which I was using.
    I also tried to use it in Demo mode but got another message
    saying that there is a problem with Demo mode.
    Please, and ideas. I have literally spent all day today
    trying to get help from Adobe but don't seem to get anywhere. Each
    link takes me somewhere and I end up eventually back where I
    started.

    Is there a possibility that you are using a Mac S/N on a PC,
    or vice-versa?
    How about using a Suite S/N on a standalone?

  • Serial Number Not working for XSAN. PLEASE HELP!

    When I purchased the XSAN software it was version 1.0 well I installed the software on all the machines and then did the updates to XSAN 1.2, but when I go to add clients serial numbers in XSAN ADMIN 1.2 it does the Metadata Controller (which is running the XSAN ADMIN program) just fine I can see the clients but when I enter my password it says "Valid Serial Number with No Expiration Date" so I click OK. Now it has a green light next to it, but when I click Save Settings it goes back to orange and give me the error "Error while writing settings (Invalid Serial Number)". Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    When I had an issue similar to yours, it was because I had typed the serial number in capital letters (just like the license showed) but it had to be in lower case. When I switched them it worked just fine.

  • Camera Raw 8.4 not working in Lightroom 5

    Hi:
    did install the CR 8.4 Beta. Can now preview .NEF files taken with the Nikon D4S in Photoshop and Bridge, however in Lightroom this is not working. Any idea why this is? Is there a workaround or a solution?

    You’ve installed the Adobe Camera Raw 8.4 PLUG-IN for Photoshop.
    The term Camera Raw also refers to the version of internal programming, a coyp of which is included in the plug-in and in Lightroom, and in the DNG Converter, although each has its own copy.
    Updating the Photoshop ACR 8.4 plug-in that contains the CR engine 8.4 doesn’t change Lightroom 5.3 which contains the copy of the CR engine 8.3, still.
    What we’re waiting for is the next version of Lightroom to be released, likely called LR 5.4, which has its copy of the Camera Raw engine 8.4.
    The DNG Converter 8.4 beta has also been released and you can use it to create DNGs from your new camera’s raw files that will open in the older Lightroom, but I’d only do that experimentally, and not delete your original raws, in case something is changed by the time of the final release.

    I am getting a bit concerned about what is happening in your situation. Yesterday you posted your question in at least two different forums, one of them being here in the Premiere Elements Forum.
    Don't Have Serial Number for Premiere, Only Photoshop?
    Wherever you posted, the reply was to contact Adobe via its Adobe Chat. It is the only one who can sort out this matter for you.
    In the thread cited above I offered to help you with the difficulties that you were having visualizing the Adobe Chat in its web page. I was waiting for your follow up on that in the above thread. Instead, I find your same question in a new Adobe Premiere Elements Forum thread this afternoon with no refer the prior threads or prior recommendations given you.
    I will also mention again...when you buy the Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements bundled in one packaging and with installation files for each on the same installation disc, each program has its own serial number. The Photoshop Elements serial number does not work for Premiere Elements and vice versa. The serial numbers are on labels on a box which houses the installation disc envelope(s). So, if you purchased both programs and found the Photoshop Elements serial number, then the Premiere Elements serial number should be in a label right underneath the label with the serial number for Photoshop Elements. I recall writing this in your yesterday's thread on this matter.
    The moderator will no doubt be along shortly to close or delete this thread. So, just in case, please bookmark your yesterday's thread cited above so that we can continue this communication which is trying to help you.

    On you other machine with Lr5 installed or Lr3 installed search for a file on you computer called "Lightroom 3.0 Registration" or "Lightroom 5.0 Registration".  You may have to search for hidden/system files.   These files contain your Serial Numbers in plain text.
    Otherwise, if your order number is from Adobe you can log in with your account to see your purchased products or contact Adobe with that order number.

    The most likely explanation is that you downloaded the Creative Cloud version of Lightroom instead of the standalone version of Lightroom (which you can download from here).
    If that doesn't work, you'd need to provide a lot more details, including version of Lightroom, operating system, and exactly what you are doing that doesn't work.
