Lightroom 4 suddenly extremely slow after download free trial of Lr5

Hi I have Lightroom 4 and last night I downloaded Lightroom 5 with a free trial for 30 days, but I couldn't work on that because was very slow, so I uninsalled Lr5, but now I can't work in my Lr4, it is extremely slow and it was perfect before. I have a MacBook Pro OS x Lion 10.75, 2.8 Ghz Intel Core i7, storage of 591GB free out of 749 and I have all my photos in an external drive "my passport" with 737 GB free out of 999 GB. Could you please help me??? I am very upset and desperate, I have been trying to work for 6 hours already, something that will take me only 30 minutes, and I can't even finish it. Please help me!! Thank you.

Computer EXTREMELY slow after download

I have a Macbook Pro running Leopard. Last night I downloaded a large number of fonts (all free legal fonts, fyi ), although while it was downloading I was unsure of exactly how many I was downloading. When all was said and done it turned out there were about 30,000 fonts in the package. Although it was more than I was expecting, it was under a gig in file size so I didn't see any issues installing them. I installed all of them but last night had no issues. I turned off my computer when I went to sleep.
This morning I went to turn my computer on and found it to be EXTREMELY slow. It took 20 minutes for it to even turn on in the first place, it took 20 minutes to open the finder and its taken an hour for the library folder to open and I STILL can't get into it. Obviously the solution is to delete the fonts, but I can't do that if I can't get into the font folder.
Is there a way to delete things in "safe mode" or something? Because obviously I can't do it through the standard display.

A suggestion: boot up from another OS that can read hfs+, then delete the offending fonts.
If you have a firewire HDD that has Mac OS X installed on it you can boot up from it by pressing "T" during bootup.
If you don't, try another OS. If I were you I would use Ubuntu, a linux OS. This will do absolutely no harm to your system at all, since it is booting from a live CD and is completely sandboxed. Go to http://ubuntu.com/ and download the live CD for free (700 MB) and burn it to a CD. Before you boot up from it you should disable journalling on your HDD, since Ubuntu can't write to journalled hfs+. You can do this from your Mac OS X install disc 1, which you boot up from (press "C" at startup to boot from CD), the Disk Utility application, selecting your drive and selecting "Disable Journalling" from the "File" menu.
Then reboot and boot from your Live CD. Say yes to everything until you get to the desktop. You don't have to install it (unless you want), just go to the "Places" button on the "menu bar" and select Macintosh HD, or whatever you named yours, navigate it normally and delete the files. Make sure to leave a few behind. Then restart by pressing the icon in the top right hand corner. This approach is completely harmless, and I have used it several times on my friends' Macs which needed access to files while the OS was down. After you have done all that you should enable journalling again

I have Windows 7 on a 64-bit operating system, and have Firefox 19 and Internet Explorer 8. I tried installing Flash Player 11.6.602.171 from the Adobe Website and got an error message right at 47% download "can not contact reliable source." I also tried uninstalling whatever Flash Player I had, but I continued to get the same error message at 47% "can not contact reliable source." Finally, following the advice found in the link below under "Program Bar Hangs During Download," I downloaded Flash Player ActiveX (internet explorer) and Flash Player Plug-In (all other browsers). It appeared that both downloads were successful and I verified that the installation was complete in the link below under "Verify that installation is complete." It says I have Flash Player 11.6.602.171. My issue now is that whenever I watch videos that use Flash Player, the downloading of videos is extremely slow. For example, a 45 second youtube video might take 30 minutes to watch. Slow after download and installing Aperture 3 on my Mac with OS X Lion 10.7.3. Have any one else same experience and an idea of how to solve the problem ?

My recently bought and up to date MacBook Pro 17" became very slow after downloading and installing Aperture 3. Is there onyone out there who have experienced the same problem and have an idea of how to go about fixing the problem ?

Are you experiencing the slowness only when you are running Aperture or all the time since you installed it?
Have you done anything with Aperture, imported images, iPhoto library etc?
How much memory is in your system? Did you have any external disks attached? How big and how much free space is there on your internal disk?

Both my sister and I have experienced our phones to be extremely slow after updating them. The messages take a few seconds to open, same with the apps. Also while typing, nothing will show up then all of a sudden everything you had typed will show up. It just seems like everything on the phone is slow. I've done some research on it, and everyone said to restore it. The people at Apple said not to do that unless it's the last resort. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Why is my mac mini running slow after downloading Yosemite?

My mac mini is running significantly slower after downloading Yosemite and I am wondering if it is to better to try to go back to an older operating system or if Apple is working on a fix for this.

My mbp (mid 2010) is running extremely slow after installing some mavericks updates on May 22nd. Earlier I thought this behavior is due to spotlight indexing but it finished after 3 days. I deleted all caches from library. But no luck, still running extremely slow. I checked activity monitor for cpu usage, it shows above 90% is idle. The memory usage always shows PM - 4 GB, Memory Used 3.96 GB, VM - 4 GB, Swaped used 0 bytes, App Memory 1.82 GB, File Cache 1.44 GB, Wired Memory 480 MB.

Was it the combo updater that was installed or the OS X 10.9.3 update. There is a difference.

Apple updates available from the Software Update application are incremental updates. Delta updates are also incremental updates and are available from Apple Downloads (software updates are generally smaller than delta updates). The Combo updates contain all incremental updates and will update files that could have become corrupted.
Combo updaters will install on the same version as they're applying--no need to roll back or do a clean install. So if you think you've got a borked 10.8.4 install from a regular update, just run the 10.8.4 Combo Updater on that system.
"Delta" updaters can only take you from one version to the next. For example: 10.9.1 to 10.9.2. If somehow the 10.9.2 is missing something it should have, and that something isn't changed between 10.9.1 and 10.9.2 it will still be stale after the delta update.

USB2 is glacial, as I/O interconnects go. And USB2 disks have been known to fail, or sometimes to drop back to USB1 speeds, too. FireWire 800 is substantially faster than USB2, but still not as fast as the internal drive connections can provide.
Put another way, start varying your configuration, and see which configuration changes (still) have the problem, and which don't.

Has anyone noticed that iPhoto is extremely slow after upgrading to OSX Maverick

I've noticed that it isn't.
There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 8 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.
