Lightroom 4 won't update Published collections to Smugmug

When I go to Publish photo's to Smugmug, it gives me this error:
An internal error has occurred:html passed to JSON:decode0:<html><body><h1>400 Bad request</h1>
Your browser sent an invalid request </body></html>
I haven't had any problems publishing to Smugmug until now.
Are there any fixes out there for this error?

Hi mikey,
LR never writes to original files, and it does not do sidecars for videos.
So in order to view your LR adjustments outside LR you need to use a format which LR can write to, like H264.

  • ICal won't update published calendar

I have a published calendar on .Mac and when I update in iCal, it won't update on my .Mac account. Also it shows that the published date is Dec 31, 1969. I have checked my date and time on system preferences. I have deleted and recreated this calendar, and it has not solved the problem. I have even unpublished and published several times, all to no avail. I have iCal 2.0.2 installed. Anyonw else come across this problem?
    Thanks.

When you publish, is "Publish changes automatically" checked? This would explain why updates don't happen. Also in .Mac system preferences under the "Sync" tab, there is a choice of how often to sync. Even if this is set to "Automatically" the sync isn't instant. Check this setting. I don't know if it affects published calendars or not, but worth checking nonetheless.
I wonder if in the Date and Time system preference ("Date & Time" tab) you have "Set date & time automatically" Checked?
Mine publish fine, no problem: http://ical.mac.com/dancingbrook/Social
Still no solution for web To Dos though perhaps via a webDAV server? Try:

Also, can I assume you've tried trashing your ical preferences? ~/Library/Preerences/com.apple.iCal.plist

  • Facebook upload stuck on "updating published collections"

I have had this problem since Lightroom 3 and I have just updated to Lightroom 4.4 on OSX 10.6.8 hoping that this problem would finally be fixed but it has not been.
Sometimes I can get one photo to publish and sometimes a few but most of the time the upload just gets stuck half way and will not progress and I have to restart LR and try again.  It's a roll of the dice whether or not it will work.
I have the jf Facebook plugin but it won't upload to my wall and I can't use Mogrify for my borders with it.
    Flickr works perfectly every time.
Would love some help and please don't blame Facebook!

Same problem here. The solution G.Lenn posted isn't working for me. I don't have an update ready in the App Store. My Photos version is 1.0 (209.52.0). Can you tell me what's yours?
My iPhone and iPad are syncing fine. It's Photos for Mac witch isn't updating anymore. Result: Library's out of sync.

  • Can't Update this Collection" After 4.1 update

Since the update yesterday (05/30/2012) to version 4.1 (official update), I now get the error code that Lightroom "Can't update this collection: Could not contact the Flickr web service.  Please check your internet connection." Exporting to 500px worked fine.  I tried reauthorizing my account, and while it connects fine to do that, I got the same error message when I attempted to publish to Flickr.  I tried exiting the program and restarting it, even reloading the Flickr plugin, all to no avail.

Lightroom 3.6, 64-bit, Windows 7, 64-bit, everything fully patched. Happens to me also. Doesn't matter whether I have captions or other metadata or not.
Just now I was able to upload a 17-picture set to Flickr, first time in a week I've gotten more than about 6 pictures to upload.

  • Some photos will not add to my SmugMug Publish Collection

Two days ago I upgraded to Lightroom 3 and I'm having trouble adding some files to a SmugMug Publish Collection.  I cant figure out why some photos will add to the collection and some won't.  I don't get an error message, I don't get any idication as to why some files will add and others will not.  I have tried to drag them to the publish section a single photo at a time and in a group.
    Any suggestions!??!?

Have you checked that it complies with Lr's system requirements?

  • Lightroom 5 will not publish a new gallery to SmugMug.

Lightroom 5 will not publish a new gallery to SmugMug. It will allow me to add new pictures to an existing gallery, but I get the message "Failed to create an album on SmugMug. Please try again or contact support." I have never previously had a problem like this, Lightroom has always worked seemlessly with SmugMug. The latest version of the SmugMug plug in is installed. Any help would be appreciated as I do have some galleries to put up and this is killing my workflow. Thank you.

You need to check in Finder using get info (command-I). Make sure that the destination that you have set in Lightroom has write permissions for you. Also double check that the destination is really in the right place and not trying to write into a root folder on your main hard drive or some such.

  • LR 4.4 Can't update this collection in flickr after Yosemite installed

Currently have LR 4.4. Just installed Yosemite as my OS on my late 2011 mac. Now when I try to publish a photo to flickr in LR I get a message headed 'Can't update this collection' and the photo will not publish. Any help appreciated.

Lightroom 3.6, 64-bit, Windows 7, 64-bit, everything fully patched. Happens to me also. Doesn't matter whether I have captions or other metadata or not.

  • LR3 - unable to publish collection to facebook

I can't publish to facebook.  Tried various collections and it won't work.  Everything was fine last week.
Error message #1  "Failed to retrieve item info" apprears when I try to upload to facebook.
Error message #2 (could be a summary), "Warning, can't update this collection.  Failed to retrieve item info.", appears as soon as I close the tab for Error #1,
    Anyone has a solution?
    Thanks,
    Joe

Publishing to Facebook from iPhoto does not work reliably right now.
As a workaround texport the photos to a folder on the Desktop and upload to Facebook with your browser until a bug-fix is released with the next update.
And send feedback to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html

  • Processing Updated Publish Criteria taking too long...

So I have installed Lightroom 4 along with an updated plugin for Smugmug....
My question is...everytime I start Lightroom or try to export to jpg etc. the following process starts with this message -- "Processing Updated Publish Criteria for com.smugmug.lightroom.publish" and takes about 2 minutes to complete.
I thought this was related to the Smugmug plugin and contacted the developer...he didn't think this was normal and suggested I post on here...
    Anyone have thoughts on this?
    Thanks,
    Chris

The same problem had been bugging me since switching over to LR4. The only way I found to fix it was to delete any of the smugmug publishing services you have set up; that would be the area on the left sidebar where you drag images to be published. Right-click (in windows anyway, I don't know how other platforms work) on the publish service, then click "delete publish service". I had to do that for ALL the smugmug publish services I had set up. Now go back and recreate your publish service(s).
This process will cause your new publish service to be without any references to images on your smugmug site. If that's important to you then you need to tell the plug-in to sync the photos too. To do that, go to the smugmug plugin, check the box "Sync Photos" and click Sync Now. It may take some time to do a complete sync and you may need to verify images manually.
I haven't found any other workaround for the problem, but this does work.

  • Flickr credentials fail consistently - "can't update this collection, Invalid auth token"

I've set up links to FaceBook and Flickr and am happily uploading images directly from LR3. Every couple of days, the Flickr link/authorisation seems to die, and I get the message:
    Can't update this collection.
Flickr API returned an error message (function upload,
    message Invalid auth token)
    OK
I need to re-authorise the connection by logging into Flickr using > Edit Session > Log In.
My password on Flickr hasn't changed (nor has any other detail), so there's no reason why the authorisation should be failing. I have a Flickr Pro account. The facebook connection is fine and never expires.
    Any clues?
    Thanks,
    Steve
    Lightroom version: 3.3 [711369]
Operating system: Windows 7 Business Edition
    Version: 6.1 [7600]
    Application architecture: x64

I can think of few ways the auth stuff can fail, based on the SDK example the publish service is derived from. But I bet folks over on the Lightroom SDK forum might know more than my inexpert guesses.

  • My I phone 5 won't update or download apps

I have got 3 handsets all
    I phone 5
Two of the phones have no problems both 16 gig
My Apple ID is the same on all my phones
The I phone 5 64 gig won't let me update my apps or download
    Any new apps
I have changed my Apple ID
I have changed my e mail address
    I have changed my password
    I have the latest software update I s o 7.0.6 installed
Every-time I go to App Store &amp; try update single or collective updates
The phone will just keep popping up with Apple ID &amp; apple password
It won't update &amp; it won't let me download
The other two handsets work fine &amp; the details are the same
I have changed the I phone 5 twice both times like for like &amp; still problem is they're
Please can anyone advise or help
    Very much appreciated

If you are using the same apple id on other devices and each of the other devices are updating the same apps sucessfully then you have an issue going on with the device being what's known as being a bit 'glitchy' What I would suggest you do is first to shut down the device completely by simply pressing on the sleep wake button, (power button on the top) for a period of 5-6 seconds untill you get the message to slide bar to shut down. Once the device is shut down and the wheel has stopped spinning, you are then free to restart the device.
Once the device is restarted then please go to settings>itunes and app store Once at this area of settings you can then click on the apple id is showing there you then can click on the apple id going to where it reads sign out, Once you've signed out go right back to that same area and sign back in with the same apple id.
What this is doing is simply logging you out and then back in with the same device.
    Good luck Friend.

  • Tags won't update

    Hello,
I'm a DJ and I use Traktor as my DJ software and iTunes to manage my MP3 collection.
Sometimes when I update a genre i Traktor, iTunes won't update the tag. Sometimes it does. I checked the file in another software, and the change is there, but not in iTunes.
I downloaded a script called "Refresh", but it won't work. I removed the track and re:added it. Same problem.
This happens every 20 MP3s or so, but it's a major problem because I use Smart Playlists and want that genre change to be updated.
Please help me with this problem!

    <Edited by Host>

I know I could always rip them back to my computer and then use a seperate program, but I'd like to fix this problem because it's easier in iTunes
Any reason you do not keep your music in iTunes and update it there?
What will you do when your iPod crashes (it will) and you need to Restore it, therefore deleting everything on it?
I used to be able to update genre tags, however it won't allow me
No idea. Can't say I have seen this before.

  • Blank space updatation to Collection field in Oracle 10g

    Hi,
we have the Oracle 9i database in the dev environment and Oracle 10g in Production environment.
In Oracle 9i, the below scenario works find, but in Oracle 10g it won'nt, The scenerio is ,
    Update table1
    set test_collection = ' '; -- works fine in Oracle 9i , but it wont works in Oracle 10g,
    Update tabel1
set test_collection = null; -- works in both the versions.
    Please suggest,.
    raja k

What is myv, is that the collection name ?? See post number 5 of this thread where I declared it.
    >
In Oracle 9i, we need not to specify the collection
name while updating the collection type field in the
table. 9.2.0.6 was notoriously buggy and wasn't considered stable till 9.2.0.7 if I recall correctly. And now (thankfully) it's unsupported.
The sql code was written in concern to Oracle 9i, now
while migrating to Oracle 10g, we are getting the
problem with this. The problem is , i don'nt have the
access to Production environment, which is migrated
to Oracle 10g, we develop the code on Oracle 9i, and
will release to deploy on Oracle 10g. Develop in 9i and deploy to 10g! Do you really think that's a good setup? How about upgrading your development environment to match production.
    update table1 set test_collection = null; - this
works fine in Oracle 9i ,
    update table1 set test_collection = ''; - this works
    fine in Oracle 9i ,
    but in Oracle 10g ,
    update table1 set test_collection = null; - this
works fine in Oracle 10g ,
    update table1 set test_collection = ''; - this won'nt
works in Oracle 10g , Yes, I already understand what your issue is.
as you suggested, do we need to specify the
collection name while updating the collection type
field. in Oracle 10g, In Oracle 9i , it won'nt
required ?? Yes, this would be the correct way to do it.
    Karthick,
because null is not same as ''
    SQL> select * from dual where ''=null
    2 /
no rows selectedErrrm, yes it is actually...
    SQL> select 1 from dual where '' is null;
    1
    1
    SQL>
... if you use the correct condition for checking nulls.
