Lightroom 5.5 update unusable:( I downloaded the 5.5 (not CC) update yesterday on my PC and now most functions are EXTREMELY slow to the point of making Lightroom unusable. It takes several minutes and appears to freeze when cropping an image, an export of a single image takes several minutes, and every click or action of any sort takes 10-20 seconds to respond. I didn't have any problems with the 5.4 version and would like to go back to that. My questions are: 1. How do I get back to 5.4? (do I just uninstall 5.5 and reinstall 5.4? and in that order?) 2. Will going backward mess up my catalog? Will I lose all of the work I've done since my last backup? (sadly, last week...arg!) 3. I also updated CS6 Camera RAW...if I go back to LR5.4 do I also need to go backward in Photoshop updates?
I've got 3 projects that require Lightroom and need to get done (like yesterday!), so any help you can provide would be great.

Just re-install Lightroom 5.4; you lose nothing.
You do need to make regular backups (weekly or more frequently) regardless of this issue.

Ever since I downloaded the last itunes and quicktime update ( a week or so ago), I can't access any movies or video podcasts i have store in itunes on my pc (vista). iTunes crashes and my error reports tell me it is a quicktime error. Wild guess but if your WinXP system has formatted your drive(s) as FAT32 then the maximum file size is 4GB. Could be that the download in 1080p is >4GB? (if formatted NTFS then this should not be a problem).
Again just a guess with iTunes on WinXP but something easy to check first. -

Make sure anti-virus and other security software is disabled.

If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

I'd also like a possible explanation as to why the new version will not work. I know that Microsoft downloaded a bunch of changes (12) that also seemed to screw up my computer. As for why your version does not work I do not know but suggest you look at:

Your System details show you as using version 3.6.12 of Firefox, that is not the latest version, it would be normal practice to update to the latest version, which is why you are being offered the updates. See also [[Software Update Failed]] -

I downloaded the ios 7.0.2 update and it's asking for a passcode. I have tried my 2 passcodes, 0000, 1234, and it's locked up. I have never used a different passcode. HELP!!!
Not sure if this applies to your region, but in Australia the SIM password is often written on the "credit card" sized plastic card that the SIM was provided to you with the phone by the telco. Do you still have this? It could be in the iPhone box?

I tried updating my iPhone with the latest update. It downloads the update to my computer fine, but when it tries to update the phone, I keep getting a fault code of 3014. I've tried it four times.
Try taking it to the nearest Apple Store. They should have computers there that they can use to get your iPhone out of recovery mode. Make an appointment first.
