Lightroom 5.6 hangs after using for few minutes. MacBook pro, Mac os 10.9.5. Colour wheel (beach ball) appears continuously and machine is frozen.

I have been using Lightroom successfully on my MacBook pro for the past few weeks and been pleased how much better it is compared to iPhoto. Especially its speed.
This week a few minutes after starting Lightroom the spinning colour wheel appears and the machine is effectively hung. Nothing responds. Sometimes after many minutes the mouse pointer reappers but the colour wheel immediately reappears if the mouse is moved or any attempt is made to do anything. Only recourse is to force a power down and re-boot. But then the same thing happens.
System is MacBook Pro (15") from late 2008, 2.4 GHz Intel core 2 Duo with 2 GB RAM (Have tried 3 GB but this makes no difference.) Running Mac os 10.9.5 (Mavericks)
I have checked file permissions and file system with Disk Utility, it found no problems. Have optimised Lightrooms catalogue. All made no difference.
I completely stuck now so any help appreciated,

It looks like you have a 15" mid 2010. You can try the SMC reset. If that doesn't work, see the free repair program for similar issues:

I have latest version of firefox. Every time I start my computer and the first url I enter in firefox makes the whole computer not t respond for few minutes. I have only installed firebug to debug my website stashcity.com. No other plugins has been installed. Please let me know how I can resolve this. I have tried clearing cookies and other details in firefox.

I have a keyboard, mouse, and printer that I connected to my 13" MacBook Pro through their provided USB cables. I wanted to know, do I need to "safely" disconnect these specific devices or is it ok to just pull them out? My reason why is that I had put in my USB blood glucose meter to charge on here and without thinking pulled it out––a message had popped up saying that I need to safely disconnect devices or they could become corrupted or something like that. I looked up information on how to disconnect a usb and they said that there would be an icon in Finder that I could drag to the trash and that would allow me to safely disconnect the device. I use a usb adapter so i can have my mouse and other things plugged in all the time - i can safely disconnect the mouse and keyboard anytime with out having to eject - i would eject things like devices with IOS and external hard drives.

I suspect that you'll have to mount that volume at boot time and not at login time as you're doing now. If you can arrange that, then the volume should be available to all users.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to do a boot-time mount. I tried searching for "mount drive startup mac" (without the quotes), but most of the results described how to mount a volume at login time. Ignore any advice that mentions "Login Items".
I did find this discussion, but it's very sketchy. You also have to be careful that any advice you find applies to the version of OS X that you're using.

LOUD iMac after using for 30 minutes or so...

I can't figure out if it's the fan or the hard drive that gets loud but something does. When the computer is turned on it's fine. After about 30 minutes or so of use it gets loud. It's in the family room and bugging everyone! Where do I start to figure out what the problem is or if it's normal?

Downloaded the iStat and have been using the computer until it started getting noisy again. I don't know what the normal temperature and fan speeds should be so here is where my machine is at now when it's noisy.

Boot into single-user mode. After startup is completed you will be in command line mode and should see a prompt with a cursor positioned after it. At the prompt enter the following then press RETURN:
/sbin/fsck -fy
If you receive a message that says "***** FILE SYSTEM WAS MODIFIED *****" then re-run the command until you receive a message that says "** The volume (name_of_volume) appears to be OK." If you re-run the command more than seven times and do not get the OK message, then the drive cannot be repaired this way. If you were successful then enter:
reboot
and press RETURN to restart the computer.
There is no guarantee this will fix the problem. Normally you must boot from another drive in order to repair the startup volume. If you can't use a Snow Leopard DVD then you would need to use some other bootable device like a backup drive or another Mac connected via Firewire - Target Disk Mode.

What's the year and model number? If you go under Apple menu->About This Mac->More Info->System Report, you can find the model number - something like "MacBookPro8,3".

Take a copy of RA01 in M/06 as YA01(as Discount) and keep it as following;
Cond. class A Discount or surcharge
Calculat.type A Percentage
Cond.category Blank
And Plus/minus - A (Positive)
Use this in Pricing Procedure ( M/08 ) after Gross Price ad Discount conditions (before Subtotal) and assign Subtotal "6" against this condition type.
In OBQ3 - Tax Procedure, assign AltCBV 363 to CST/VAT Condition Type (JIP1/JIP5)
Now check the calculation will happen as following;
Gross Price = 10000 INR
Discount (as -ve/+ve) = 1000 INR
BED 14% = 1400 INR
ECS 2% = 28 INR
SECess 1% = 14 INR
CST 2% = 248.84 INR

If your phone is still not powering on, I would next try and reset the device with these steps from the article about that sort of issue:
