Lightroom 5.6 keeps crashing when it is opening

Hi, everytime I try and open Lightroom 5.6 on my Windows 7 laptop it crashes and will not open.  Windows searches for a solution but cannot find anything.  This has not always happened as it worked the first few times I used it.  I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling through the website directly and through Creative Cloud but I am having no luck.  Can someone please help?

Does it help to:
On the Internet Explorer Tools menu, click Internet Options.
In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
In the Security category, check Use TLS 1.0, Use TLS 1.1, and Use TLS 1.2 (if available).
Note It is important to check consecutive versions. Not selecting consecutive versions (e.g. checking TLS 1.0 and 1.2, but not checking 1.1) could result in connection errors.
Click OK
