Lightroom 5.6 Won't Install

Hello! I recently purchased a new D810 and need to update the camera support for Lightroom. I download the LR 5.6 package and I can't install. I keep getting this error. I am running a Mac 10.8.5, I ran repair disks in Disk Utility, checked all updates falling short of installing Maverick. Here is the error message I keep getting. It also did this the last time it wouldn't install the update.

Also, Javascript is up to date.

  • Lightroom 4.3 won't install

    Hello,
    I'm running Windows 7 x64.
I can't seem to install 4.3. Gives me this error:
I had the 4.3 RC installed before and I believe this error is happening when LR is trying to uninstall the RC version.
I tried uninstalling RC manuallty, same error. Tried to Install RC again so I can uninstall, same error. Restarted, same thing.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

You will have to do some hacking to put the Adobe_Lightroom_x64.msi in the Use source location.
Start your setup64.exe install, watch it say Extracting Adobe_Lightroom_x64.msi and then when it pauses and waits for you to click Next, then go to your user-profile’s Temp folder, sort it by date and find the most recent gibberish subfolder, then copy the files in the most recent gibberish subfolder to the one named in your error message, which likely won't exist and’ll need recreated.
If your error occurs during the RC install/uninstall process, then the Adobe_Lightroom_x64.msi you want is the one you get from the setup64.exe that is associated with the RC installer not the final installer.
On my computer, my user-profile Temp folder is here and the gibberish subfolders are inside:
    C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Temp

I seemed to download the Lightroom 5 upgrade just fine to my PC.  But nothing happens when I double-click the application in my downloads folder.  And there's no LR5 icon on my desktop.  Is there a trick to it?

    Please check the system requirement.

  • Lightroom 2 won't install at all

    Hi, folks--
Could anyone suggest why my new version of Lightroom 2 won't install at all on my system? At first I thought that it was because my comp didn't meet the minimum requirements, but I believe it does, so I'm stumped. I received a Windows Installer error message stating, "This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package." I'm trying to install from a brand-new CD purchase made through Amazon, so I trust the retailer. I have a valid serial number and all that.
I'm running Win XP Pro, SP3.
    Thanks for the help!
    -Greg

My suggestion is to download the trial (which is the full version) and try that. You can then add the serial number on the one you purchased.

  • Lightroom 5.2 won't open after "successfully installed" - can anybody please help me understand why?

    Hi everyone
I've bought and downloaded Adobe Lightroom 5 for a new iMac 27" intel core 5 3,4 GHz. The machine is only three days old and no more updates are to be found when searching for it. However; after the message that "lightroom 5 has successfully been installed" I don't get to open the program. So I never get to the point where I can register the serial number / registration key for purchased product.
I've followed the instructions that comes with Lightroom 5, but no luck. Also tried to uninstall and reinstall.
No secret that I'm total incompetent when it comes to understanding of computers and software....
Hope someone can help me understand what I'm doing wrong, and sugest some good solutions :-)
    Thx

I think you may need to uninstall and then start over. There is no installer on the Mac for Lightroom so select it in Applications and send it to the trash.  I suggest you download again from a different source. You can use the link below to download the free trial and then validate the software after installation with your product serial number. Ensure you choose your language version and MAC platform from the dropdown list at the top of the page.
After you click download it starts by downloading or updating (replace) the Adobe Download Assistant. You then browse the products and select Photoshop Lightroom 5 to start the installation.

  • Lightroom 4.1 won't recognize my supported Nikon camera and lenses under "Lens Corrections"?

Develop Module-Under Lens Corrections, Enable Profile Corrections, Lightroom 4.1 won't auto recognize my Nikon D5000 camera and lenses even though they ARE supported.  When I manually choose Nikon in this widow, I can only get 8 of the multitude of supported Nikon lenses to show in the drop down.  Of these 8 lenses, none match any of my lenses.  How do I fix this?  I would like to be able to click the check box for "Enable Profile Corrections" and have it auto recognize my camera and lens.
    Here is my history:
    I shoot in RAW
This is a new install of Lightroom 4.1 on a new computer with all updates installed.
    I'm running Win 7 64bit
I previously used Lightroom 3 on a different computer and it worked great with Lightroom 3
I'm a REALTOR that uses Lightroom to edit my photos, not a pro.  So, please give answers that a non-pro can understand.  I am really hoping there is some simple answer to my problem.
I did search the help file first and couldn't find an answer.
Thank you in advance for the help!!

OMG... I'm such a nit-wit!!  I switched the setting in my camera to try something and forgot to swith it back!
I've been digging through this for more that an hour and never bothered to check the file setting.
    Thanks for the suggestion!

my photoshop elements and Lightroom serial numbers won't work for my new mac. I bought these softwares via download on my windows laptop but returned that laptop because the quality was not great. I decided to buy a mac and now can't use my serial numbers to download the software.

Moving this discussion to the Downloading, Installing, Setting Up forum.
Stephylei you will want to download the Mac versions of the installation files.  If you purchased the software from Adobe, and choose the download option at the time of purchase, then the download will be available under your account.  You can find more details at Find a download link on Adobe.com.

  • AAM Won't Install - Admin Rights Required

    Hi Folks,
    Win7 64bit.
I've just signed up for Creative Cloud and am trying to install the AAM so I can access a few Adobe installers and get setup.  I just crossgraded from Photoshop 5 CS and Dreamweaver, both of which previously installed no problem.   To access CC applications, you have to download and install the AAM.   When installing, it tells me admin permissions are required.   I've tried right-clicking and running as administrator - same error.   I've tried to run the MS fixit tool - no change.   I've tried to install Adobe Air, it won't install - it hangs on the EULA screen by opening more of the same screen over and over.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?   This is a new-ish machine and nothing has changed on it since installing PS CS5 and DW a few months back.
    Many thanks in advance,
    Rob

    Hi Taurn,
The issue seemed to be resolved until I tried to open the AAM today, when it began again to do it's self-update process, and again it's failing due to admin priviledges.      I have a trial of LIghtroom that was the work around until it was added to the Creative Cloud offering - and now it's expired, and I can't install through the AAM because it won't, again, update itself.  I've tried all of the suggestions found on the forum - firewall off - entry in the firewall for PDAPP.exe, new Admin account on my system.
Would you have any suggestions for me?  I simply want to use the software as it was intended.
And I'm going to miss a deadline while I try to get this working again.....   I will be glad when the Creative Cloud (brilliant idea on paper) system works as it should.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
    Rob
EDIT: (removed - sorry for the whiny tone - just frustrated)

Couldn't open "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.pkg".
My system is an iMac 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo w/ 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Just upgraded to 10.6.3 Snow Leopard and the HD has 893GB available.

Thanks. I was able to use Apple updates to get Snow Leopard up to date
    and have now installed LR4.
However...... I purchased the LR4 upgrade and I have gotten to the part
where it asked me for the serial number and I have input the new serial for
LR4 upgrade, but I erased the serial in the next set of boxes down thinking
they were asking for the name number duplicated in. However it wants my
serial number from my LR2 which I cant seem to find.
Is there a way to lookon my LR2 program and get the serial number?
Or can I access it through myAdobe account somewhere on the Adobe website??
    Thanks,
    Lenn
