Lightroom 5.7 64-Bit VERY slow loading

It seems like the performance of Lightroom is getting slower every new version.
How can I speed things up?

  • Firefox very slow loading most pages, sometimes error message :"can't find server for......." ....."

Firefox is very slow loading pages, some pages never load, sometimes error message stating "cannot connect to server" Router is not an issue I don't think as other computer connected to it has no problems. Used Malwarebytes to clean up problems, only 5 found. Internet Explorer does not have the same problems.

The default of the pref network.http.max-connections has been increased from 30 to 256 in Firefox 6+ versions.
Try to decrease the value of the pref <b>network.http.max-connections</b> from 256 to 30 as used in Firefox 3 versions.

w/ this latest version, getting MANY "the connection was reset" pages, plus VERY VERY VERY slow loading. I'm running Windows 7 on a new Dell. What is up w/ that?
I don't know how else to phrase that. I'm a pretty good user, but after defragging, backing up, and getting rid of a bunch of files that "may" slow down performance of firefox, the fact is, "the connection was reset" comes up five or six times a day--AND the browser is going slow as molasses. I haven't had this much trouble since before I got my new dell.

hello whatagem123, it is never a good idea to stick with outdated versions of firefox just for the sake of addons, as this will put the integrity of your system and your the personal data on it at risk - there are various [https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html known security vulnerabilities (some of them highly critical)] that were fixed in later versions!
so please [[Update Firefox to the latest version]] & [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ update your plugins] (your java plugin has security vulnerabilities that are actively and widely exploited on the web).
afterwards i'd recommend resetting firefox - this will keep your bookmarks and passwords but will get rid of most other customizations. this might well fix both the issues you've described in your question...

  • Ipad Air & Ipad mini very slow loading websites

    Hi all
Im experiencing very slow website loading issues on my Ipad air and my daughters Ipad mini retina. When this occurs the devices even stop loading the site completely. When i open the same site on iPhones 4s or iMac it loads instantly,  WiFi is provided by 2 AirPort express stations, since iPhone &amp; Imac load instantantly.  During these issues speedtests on both Ipads are showing download speeds in the range of  44 mb/s. All of this leads me to believe there's nothing wrong with WiFi signal.
All mobile devices are running on IOS 7.1, loading apps is no issue, just loading sites is giving the problem
Any help or advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated
    Kris

That's weird. Have you tried to reset the network settings on them?
Go to Settings > General > Scroll to bottom and Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Try and see if that helps.  You'll need to put your passwords back in but it may help

  • Why are some websites very slow loading and others not

Some websites are very slow to load and others not. Doesn't seem to be any logic as to. The affected URL below is one that is very slow. I can understand if it is not an Aussie website. Having said that New York Stock Exchange website "http://www.nyse.com/about/listed/lcddata.html?ticker=DJI" loads quicker than the subject URL

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • PP suddenly very slow loading files, generating peak files

Project from yesterday suddenly extremely slow loading, syncing files and generating audio peak files. Using PP 2014.2 on HP Z800. SSD system drive, internal raid and three USB 3 drives connected to USB3 pci-e card. Suspect drive could be hanging up but not sure how to test since all was fine last night. Files are HD 23.98 quicktime prores

I also notice my CC connection needed to be reset several times. The Control Panel internet settings keep switching back on LAN from Automatically detect settings to Use a proxy server. My computer is dual 5650 processors, 24 g ram, so don't see that as problem, especially since this worked yesterday.
    Could really use help ASAP
    Thanks

  • Safari (and other browsers) very slow loading "content rich" web pages

    Hi,
I'm a very "light" user of my mac, using it basically for surfing the web, uploading pictures and music, etc... and recently any web page that has a lot of content (examples are nfl.com, nba.com, nhl.com, mlb.com, united.com, continental.com) takes a very long time to load (most other web pages load normally). Safari (and Firefox as well) gets to the web page in an instant, but then sits there trying to load content (mostly high res pictures and ads I suppose), which sometimes takes minutes or just never fully downloads the content. I'm connected to the internet via ethernet (high speed cable modem from Time Warner), and they've already come out and verified that everything on their end is fine. I've followed the instructions posted on some of the other similar posts (emptying cache, deleting cookies, disenabling add on's, reseting safari, logging in as another user, etc..), and this has not helped. Since this problem is persistent with both browsers, I'm wondering if this may be an OS issue as opposed to a browser issue. If someone can walk me through a solution (keep in mind that I'm a novice), that would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

    HI and welcome....
Since this problem is persistent with both browsers, I'm wondering if this may be an OS issue as opposed to a browser issue
    Could be.
Since the problems exist with multiple browsers, login to another user account on your Mac. Try Safari there. If you see the same behavior with Safari there, then follow the instructions here. You will need your install disc. The startup disk may need repairing. Even if Safari is ok in another account, it's still a good idea to check the startup disk. That way you can rule that out.
Insert your install disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu and launch Disk Utility.
(In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first from the installer menu)
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your startup disk and click Restart
While you have the Disk Utility window open, look at the bottom of the window. Where you see Capacity and Available. Make sure there is always 15% free space.

  • Regular crashes and very slow loading of certain pages

Basically, Firefox closes itself (crahes) VERY regularly; often after turning on the browser for less than a minute.
Accessing my account information on play.com is next to impossible, due to a MASSIVE increase in loading times. Same for accessing any of my email accounts. Since this loading time is so large (anywhere from 1-10 minutes), it almost always crashes before the page loads.
I have been using Firefox regularly ever since January and have NEVER had any problems or difficulties with the browser. Problems only began occuring since Friday 6th/Saturday 7th September, 2010.
Also, these increased loading times are similarly affecting my other browsers, including Safari and Internet Explorer. If I try and download a new browser I get a message explaining how the setup has failed every time.
    HELP!

Your plugins list shows outdated plugin(s) with known security and stability risks.

  • Very slow loading time - Crystal Reports Viewer 2008

    Hi,
I search this forum to find another thread regarding this issue.  Since I've found nothing in particular, I started this one.
We are currently developping a new report engine based on the .Net Crystal Report Viewer. This engine will be used in our applications to show, print and export reports.  We based the engine on the Crystal Report 2008 version (12.0.2000).  The code is in C#, targeted on the Framework 3.5 SP1.  For the CR runtime, we tested on machines with the SP2 and SP3 versions, as well as on a computer with Crystal Report Developper installed (v12.3.0.601) with no runtimes.  Since the runtime is in x86 only, the engine is compiled in x86 (not ANY CPU)
When we try to open a report in an application, the first report loading is unusally slower than the others.  If I open a report, close it and open it a second time, the second time is much faster than the first.  While reading the threads, I realized that the first load implies some assembly loading from the Framework (which is normal).
But since i can take as long as 20-30 seconds to load the first report, I ran some test.  Using the System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.AssemblyLoad event, I've tracked the assemblies being loaded when opening the report and the start time of the loading.  I've discovered that, while most of the CR assemblies takes less than 500 milliseconds to load, there is one that takes at least 3 seconds (20 seconds sometimes) to load : BusinessObjects.Licensing.KeyCodeDecoder.  Each time I ran the tests, it is the assembly that is the slowest (and by far) among them all.
Prior to this, we were using Delphi with the Crystal Report 10 runtime.  We never had such issues.  Now, some customers are complaining about this behavior.
For you information, we are using the ReportDocument.Load() method to load documents.  Our reports are all dynamically linked to the database with the DataSourceConnections.SetConnection() method.  The report is being loaded in the viewer using the CrystalReportViewer.ReportSource property.
Why does it takes so long to load/execute ? Is there something implied with registry keys or Internet access ?  Is there a way to speed up things ?
      Thanks !

Thanks for your help Don ! :o)
I know that the CR10 runtime was built on win32 and while I knew that the .Net version of the runtime would be slower due to the Framework and .Net architecture, we did not expect such differences between the two methods.
You are right that the hardware could play a great factor here, but since I work on this machine for a few years now and I saw the performance from the old CRPE32.dll and the new .Net counterpart, I am really surprised that there is such a difference.  Most of our customers have entry-level desktops and our application always ran well on it, until now.
So, if it is the way that the CR 2008 runtime works, do you know if your developpers optimized this part with the next version (CR 2010) or it is based on the same engine ?
Thanks again for your time !

  • Aperture very slow loading the next image...

OK, I've trawled the forums but I can't find a specific answer.
Firstly, I'm using a low spec iMac (2007 2.4GHz C2D with 4GB RAM, Radeon HD 2600 - 256MB VRAM on 10.8.2) but I'm not convinced this is the issue.
When I navigate through photos (Sony Alpha and Canon EOS RAW) there's a major delay of up to 20 seconds when the image shows "Loading" with a spining gear wheel-thing (not a colour wheel).  The delay is worse on the 17Mpixel Canon files.
I've check what the activity monitor is doing during this and the memory seems fine, I still have over 1GB free and no pages in/out or RAM activity of any kind.  The CPU goes ballistic - 180% on Aperture - it's really working.  Given the file size/delay difference, I'm assuming the image is being generated with adjustments composited etc.
I thought the previews were supposed to address this by providing a cached image so my question is; is there any way of checking the previews are being accessed?  I've deleted the previews from a selection, re-generated using a couple of size setting in prefs, they've been generated but still no speed-up.
I've also done a permissions repair both in disk utility and cmd-option launch of Aperture. No difference.
Thanks for any help in advance, Dave

I've also done a permissions repair
If you have a corrupted library the permission repair alone may not suffice. Have you also repaired or rebuild the library?
Repairing and Rebuilding Your Aperture Library: Aperture 3 User Manual
if that does not help, check, if you have incompatible video codecs installed:
Aperture 3: May be unresponsive or have slower performance with third-party video codec

  • Images from Photobucket very slow loading or do not load at all

My website is graphic intensive. All the graphics are stored in Photobucket. If I used IE they instantly load and appear but if I use Mozilla Firefox there is a long delay in their appearance and sometimes they never show up. I contacted PB and they said to clear your cache, refresh, close your browser window, then flush your DNS (your computer system's cache) and reboot your entire system, including the modem and router. I did this but Firefox is still loading images very slowly and sometimes not at all

You can try to check the loading times via Firefox > Web Developer > Web Console (click the Net button)
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Very slow loading of Acrobat Win forum

The main page of the Acrobat Windows forum is taking extremely long times for loading. To my ignorant eyes, the problem seems to be related with this user and/or his/her avatar: ;sadklhasd;flkj

Phillip, the problem I reported (t
he extra long loading time of the Acrobat Windows forum main page)
is solved, at least for me. This coincides with the disappea
rance from the list of messages of the name of
the person whose avatar took a very long time t
    o download.
If you are still unable to get at that person's profile, that's another problem, although it's most probably related with, and perhaps even the cause of, the one I reported.
Extra line breaks kindly provided by the non updated software of the forums.
