Lightroom 5 adjustments not showing in Photoshop CC

Until a few days ago, when I choose "Edit in Lightroom" my RAW files (NEF) would show up in Photoshop with the Lightroom adjustments (without a warning dialog), but somehow this changed. When I open an image in Photoshop from Lightroom it does not show all adjustments. Also when I open the image as a smart object the Lightroom adjustments are ignored. As far as I know I didn't change any settings myself. I have the most recent versions of Lightroom 5 (5.3) and Photoshop CC (14.2). I've read some older solution for this problem by resetting the warning dialogs, but that didn't help. Anybody else experiencing this problem?

Hi Geoff and all pf you. Here my idea about the problem that me too  I am experiencing . Now, this is what I think, after a litlle recap:
-If I crop an image, this will "simply" not be open in PS  at all via CMD +e .
-If I use a graduated filter in LR , the exported image in PS is almost all black.
-If I use some brush, the image opend in PS  wont show the edits made in LR
-If I export the image via "export button" to create a Tiff or PSD file and open this file  with PSCC, then (SO FAR )  it opens in PS in a correct way i.e with all edits had been made in LR 5 or 4
I run a
maverik 10.9.1
LR5 5.3
LR 4.4
PS CC 14.2 x64
Cam Raw 8.3.0.141
The interesting thing came to my attention when I tried to replicate my (our) problems on 2 friends machines . They had no problems at all
1 friend has a
Mac 10.8 lion
LR 5.0
PS CC 14.2 x64
Cam raw 8.3.0.141
2nd lucky friend has
Mac 10.8 Lion
LR 5.3
PS CS 6
Cam raw 7.7
my idea? I hope to be completely wrong but this sounds to me  like a MAC Maverik problem. If this is the case we can kiss our back a nice goodbye because none ( apple -adobe) will find a solution. I hope that some Win user or Mac lion installed machine comes up saying they have problems too. I ll be sorry for them , but this could be the worst ever scenario.
PS Just noticed Simon G E Garret up the thread here has NO problem and he s running a window machine.....

  • Lightroom Adjustment Brushes not showing in Photoshop Camera Raw

I hope someone can answer this for me please
I prefer to do my RAW editing in Lightroom (that's just the way I like to do it) but now I want to send the image off to photoshop to build a poster with the same image.  So I open Photoshop and then choose Place Embedded from the File menu.  The Adobe Camera Raw 8.6 Dialouge opens and I was expecting to see all my develop settings the same as well as the Adjustment Brushes but for some reason the brushes aren't showing???
Why is this and is there a way to fix it simply?
    Many thanks
    Alex

You could open the file in photoshop as a smart object from lightroom.
Or in lightroom you could go to Photo>Save Metadata to File, which i believe overwrites the original xmp file if you've already
opened it in photoshop camera raw or creates a new xmp file in the same folder as the camera raw file.
Either way, when you place embedded in photoshop the adjustment brush settings should be there.

  • Windows Fonts not showing in PhotoShop CS6

Newly built Windows 7 Machine, installed the fonts and they show in all office Apps but not showing in Photoshop CS6, can you tell me how to get them to appear?
    Thanks

Photoshop lists all fonts that are present in 'Fonts' folder in Windows.
If PS is not listing some fonts:
Either those fonts are not located in 'Fonts' folders (Windows keeps it in a secret statsh as they're proprietary to Windows 7)
One or more of those fonts are corrupt. Adobe doesn't list corrupt fonts. In fact, often times Photoshop hangs when you have one or more corrupt/ invalid font registries on your system. Scan for corrupt fonts and remove them
Can you post the 'fonts' that are 'missing', so we can see if they have any associated known issues with Photoshop?

  • Lightroom 5 is not showing previous sucessfuly imported images and images are not identified as missing, there are no images shown in the library, how do  I reconnect missing images?

lightroom 5 is not showing previous successfully imported images and images are not identified as missing, there are no images shown in the library, how do  I reconnect missing images?

If the images are not identified as missing ... then you can't reconnect them
But I'm not really sure what is happening, as I don't understand your description of the problem, could you show us a screen capture? Or describe what appears on your screen in much more detail...

  • When I open an image in Photoshop from Lightroom it does not show any adjustments, without restarting photoshop between each picture.

I am using Macbook Pro, Photoshop CC, and Lightroom 5.
The problem is: When I start edit in photoshop from Lightroom, the adjustment in Lightroom does not showing up in Photoshop. This has never been happen before while using Photoshop 6.
I have tried to reinstall the products several times, including OS Yosemite. But it does not help.

The problem with write permissions for the OneDrive folder only shows up in Lightroom 6's export dialogue, that's why it's to irritating. Lightroom 5.7.1 is not having that problem nor does the file explorer. The problem also exists on both of my machines. I will try to check for other problems with the OneDrive troubleshooter though: Running the OneDrive troubleshooter - Windows Help

  • Radial filter does not show in Photoshop CS5

    Hi,
I am using the trial of LR5. I have made some adjustments with the Radial Filter. When "opening as a smart object in CS5," the radial filter adjustments do NOT show up. Crop does, basic exposure adjustments, but no radial filter.
Anyone know why? Would it show up in CS6? I do not want to go to CC.
    Thanks much for your help.
    MF

Just so you understand, LR5 can pass the Radial data to ACR 8.1 in CS6, but you won't be able to alter the radial filters (or any of the LR5 only features) unless you go to ACR 8.1 in Photoshop CC. So, a SO in ACR 8.1 in CS6 will still be limited in terms of what you can and can't do in CS6.

  • LR adjustments not showing up in Bridge CS2

When working with .DNG files in LR, it seems that Develop settings show up in Bridge CS3 (beta), but only some show up in Bridge CS2; the same is true for metadata, but only sometimes -- keywords tend to show up, Location, City, etc. don't. Using the "Export XMP Metadata to File" doesn't seem to make a difference.
For example: if I adjust the contrast, then export xmp, I can see the difference in Bridge CS3, but not CS2. But if I change the white balance, the change shows up in both versions of Bridge.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Martin

Brilliant, Geoff! I had downloaded ACR 3.7 for the DNG converter, but apparently hadn't installed it for Bridge/Photoshop CS2, which were still using 3.6. I used "updates" in the Help menu, and 3.7 was installed automatically. All of the LR adjustments now show up in Bridge CS2.
    Thanks!

  • Lightroom 5.7 Not Showing Camera Profiles from DNG File

    Hello,
I just installed Adobe DNG Converter 9.0 and converted some Nikon D7200 fles to DNG for import into Lightroom 5.7. This works fine except for the Camera Specific profiles not showing up. Only Adobe Standard shows up.
When I open the same DNG file in Adobe Camera Raw in Photoshop CS6, [it] properly shows all the camera specific profiles for the D7200. What am I doing wrong?
Here is what the develop module Camera Profile drop down menu looks like in LR 5.7
And in Photoshop CS6 Adobe Camera RAW ( ACR ) 8.7.1.311
    Thanks for your insight.

gonzalu,  the reason is because the profiles are installed separately for Camera Raw vs Lightroom.
If you're using Lr 5.x, then to get the extra D7200 profiles visible in Lr, you'll need to manually copy/install them.  Try looking here:
      C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Camera\Nikon D7200
and copy the contents of that folder to here:
      C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles
(where you should substitute your actual username, above).
Then restart Lr and the profiles should be visible now.
(You don't need to do this step if you're running Lr CC, because the new profiles are included with that installation.)

  • Camera raw adjustments not showing in prints

I received a call from a technician with a professional processor about an issue I am having with prints that are much darker than what I see on my calibrated screen. The technician was wondering why I would send files that looked exactly like the original files. So he decided to open the files in Adobe Camera Raw and discovered that there were a number of changes in Camera Raw, i.e. brightness, exposure, etc. that were not showing up in the prints, or upon initial inspection of the file! I've been dealing with this issue of dark prints for a couple of years now and I don't know what else to do! The adjustments made to exposure or brightness levels are mostly very subtle in nature because I like to get it right in camera as opposed to major adjustments in Photoshop, but the reason I purchased Photoshop to begin with is to have a tool that will help present my vision as opposed to getting in my way!

When you're able to distinguish between ACR and PS Image Processor,
    kenmb,
You have no reason and no right to be posting snide comments, as you have failed to give us the most elementary information requested.  Your posts so far have been the antithesis of a model of clarity, so we are still in the dark both as to what you have been doing and as to what the exact nature of your problem is.
Please take a step back and try to calm down.
At the risk of being insulted by you once again, I'm going to try once more.  After all, I have a thick skin and can hurl insults back with the best and the worst of them.
So far you have written about "Adjustments" that the lab workers can detect in Camera Raw and are not being "reflected" on your prints.  This is indeed the Camera Raw forum so, given the paucity of information received from you so far, we can only assume that you are indeed performing adjustments to your images in ACR.
You then speak of saving your files through the Image Processor.
Here's the rub: we are missing one step.  Unless you Open an image in the Camera Raw panel (dialog box) by using the OPEN button in ACR after making your adjustments, the adjustments WILL NOT BE applied to the pixels, they will be just stored only in metadata.  That's what happens when you use the "Done" button in the the Camera Raw panel (dialog box).  That does you no good, especially since your lab will be using a non-Adobe application that cannot read the adjustments embedded in your file.  When you do that and then proceed to use the Image Processor to batch process your files and save them for the lab, you end up with files the pixels of which have not been touched, despite being saved by the Image Processor.
Let's for a moment forget about batch processing and let's concentrate on what needs to be done to a single individual image:
First, you need to use ACR to perform your adjustments on the image.  When finished, you need to click on the "Open" button in the ACR panel (dialog box).  <—— THIS is the step that actually applies your adjustments to the pixels.  Then the image will be opened by Photoshop and kept in RAM only until you actually save it in Photoshop, before using the Image Processor on that file.  You now have a saved file to the pixels of which your adjustments have been directly applied.  ONLY THEN can you use the Image Processor on that and other files similarly saved already.
If you run the Image Processor on files with adjustments embedded in metadata as opposed to adjustments applied to the pixels themselves, only Adobe software such as ACR, Bridge and Photoshop can detect the embedded adjustments, but non-Adobe software (like the one used by your lab to print, e.g a RIP) will not be aware of the existence of the embedded adjustments.  That's why the lab staff can see the adjustments when they use Adobe software (ACR) to view the images.
It's a combination of the missing step of Opening and Saving the image files in ACR before using the Image Processor and the lab using non-Adobe software that is generating image files with embedded adjustments in metadata which are being ignored by the printing application used by the lab.
If you disagree with any of the above, I would hope that you take the time to explain exactly what you're doing, rather than resort to throwing tantrums and insulting people who are only trying to help you.

  • Font not showing in Photoshop (works in non-Adobe programs)

    Hi all,
One of the fonts I want to use in Photoshop CS6 is not showing up. I installed the font, it is working in Word / Gimp / Paint.Net etc, though not in Photoshop or Illustrator. In the picture below you see the font preview, the installed font properties, a preview in Word and the absence of the font in Photoshop.
Does anyone have a clue how to fix this?
    Thanks in advance.
    Bram

There must be something in the font's encoding that Adobe doesn't like. If you run the font through an application like Font Validator it shows several errors. I guess Adobe apps are more stringent with fonts than other applications.

  • When I open Photoshop CS6, the image does not show in Photoshop. The image IS open, i.e. the filename is shown on a tab and the image layers show in the layer panel. What is going on?

Both Photoshop and Bridge open as usual. But when I open an image, the image does not show in the image area. The image filename does show in a tab and the layers show in the layer panel. What is going on and how do I fix this.

I resolved the problem. It was somehow related to my using Microsoft
theme pictures. I set Windows to use the basic theme and the problem
went away. Thank you for the suggestions.

  • ACR adjustments not showing up in Bridge

I've done some searching but have not found an answer to my ?  So hope it isn't a repeat.  I'm on a iMac with 16 gig of RAM and updated graphics card running the latest version of Lion.
After downloading the beta of CS6/ACR7 I have noticed that if I'm working on a photo in ACR and click "done" (not save image), the ACR adjustments don't always show up in Bridge.  Sometimes it might show the adjustments and other times it doesn't.  Doesn't seem to matter if the raw file is NEF or DNG.  It is very hit and miss.
I did an update on CS5 before I downloaded the beta of CS6 and I've noticed that it does the same thing.  Went to my lap top with none of the latest updates and all adjustments in ACR show up in Bridge.  I compared ACR and Bridge Preferences and all was the same between the machines.  (Lap top is a MacBook Pro 15").
Anyone have any idea what needs to be changed so all adjustments in ACR show up in Bridge?  If the adjustments in ACR are all I need to do, it is frustrating to have to do a "save image" and make a duplicate just to get the adjustments to show up.  I can use LR and have it work this way, but I prefer ACR.
    Thanks,
    Sue

Thank you Ann!!!!!  That was the problem.  I sure appreciate your help.

  • Tools not showing in Photoshop CS6

Some of the alternative tools in the tool box are not showing, I already restar the program  and try to clean the catche and is still not showing. DO not what to do

    Hi TSDF,
What operating system are you using?
Does that mean when you click and hold on the icons in the toolbox, the the pop up menus don't appear?
Some of the tools in the toolbox don't have any hidden tools (zoom and move tools) and you can tell which tool box icons have
hidden tools by the small black or white kinda side ways arrow next to the toolbox icons.
Is there a particular tool you can't find in photoshop cs6?

    Matthew,
Oh I found what the problem is.  I tried to edit images that cannot be found  because the external drive where these image reside was not connected.  I realized this when I tried to crop the images and a message says "the folder cannot be found".  Phew!  :$
Thanks for your prompt response.  I really appreciate it.
