Lightroom 5- beyond installation limit

I have lightroom 5 on 2 computers.    If I deactivate on one, will I be able to load a new copy on my newly purchased laptop?

Not for Lightroom, you must be installing some other software.

Lightroom 3.2 Installation Problem on Windows 7 64-bit
I can't install Lightroom 3.2 (German) on my computer (Windows 7 Professional 64-bit).
While copying the extracted program files the following error message appears:
An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {6435B7C0-E0C8-3EA2-91AE-7640034EAFCE}. HRESULT: 0x80070002.
I found out that other users had the same problem, and couldn't find a solution.
Perhaps it is a Microsoft .NET Framework related problem. But after installing .NET Framework 4 nothing changed.
Thanks for ideas to solve the problem.

Thanks for your advice, Mr. McLion.
I downloaded the 3.4.1 version and started the installation as administrator. Unfortunately the same error message occured again.
Then I tried to install the 32-bit version (although I prefer a 64-bit program on a 64-bit operating system). A similar error message appeared at the same point of installation progress, but with another combination of numbers and letters in brackets.

  • PSE 9...exceed installation limit...

I have owned PSE9 for over a year and it is installed on two computers only.  It has never been installed on any other computer other than the two at present.  Out of the blue and a year after the initial installations it now tells me I have exceeded the installation limit of two computers and must now deactivate one or but another license.   Again, it is installed on ONLY two computers and NOTHING has changed since the original install other than the normal Adobe updates.  Furthermore, deactivate is greyed out and is not even an option on one of the two installations.
Any and all feedback is appreciated.

The message should have given you a way to contact adobe and you will need them to straighten this out for you.

  • Lightroom 4.3 installer hangs in Win 8

I'm having no luck at all installing Adobe products in Win 8 64-bit.  I downloaded LR 4.3 and tried to install it.  The Photoshop Lightroom 4.3 Installer window opens with "Preparing files," and says that the downloaded files are being extracted.  According to the progress bar, nothing is being extracted, and it just sits there doing nothing.  I have another message here describing how the CS6 installer will not initialize on this computer. Could these be related?  Any ideas would be appreciated.

Well, after several retries of getting the LR installer to work, it suddenly just worked.  LR3 is working in Win 8 for me now.  All I need is for Epson to finally release Win 8 drivers for the R1900.

  • Lightroom 5 updgrade installation fails

I just downloaded a lightroom 5 upgrade from adobe and tried to install it.  The default installation parameters failed with either insufficient disk space or a directory permission problem (it wasn't specific).  I have 45gb of free disk space, so it wasn't that.  Tried moving the "unzip" directory to computer/local disk/users/myusername/lightroomtemp. This time the installation went 100%, but then failed again with the same message.  Are there any log files?  any other ideas?
    thanks!

Thank you for your reply. I realize that this is a user forum;  Adobe support was closed until Monday, and the site "highly encouraged" users to use the forum as "the best place to get answers."
I read the "Readme" that came with the Lightroom 5 installation. I checked compliancy with everything except for the graphics card (Lightroom 3 works fine, so I'm expecting Lightroom 5 to also work fine.)
Here are the system requirements out of the readme:
    Windows
     Processor: Intel® Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon® 64  ( I have an AMD Phenom II 4 core, 3.2ghz)
 DirectX IO-capable or later graphics card (I'm pretty sjure my graphics card is compliant)
     OS: Microsoft® Windows® 7 with Service Pack 1 or later (Yes)
     RAM: 2 GB (4 GB Recommended) (I have 4gb)
 Hard Disk: 2 GB of available hard-disk space (I have 114gb free now out of 465gb on my hard disk drive.)
     Display: 1024 x 768 Monitor Resolution (yes)
 Internet connection required for Internet-based services (internet is connected)
Here are the messages from a screen shot from the failed installation:  it says:  (title bar) Photoshop Lightroom 5.3 installer
Error message:  a problem occurred while extracting some files.  Check available space on your computer and write privileges on the destination folder.
I ran the installer using all defaults, and again in a higher level directory that I seemed to have write access to.  Both times it failed after about 87% through the installation.
Thanks for any suggestions that you might have;  I really appreciate any ideas.  I'm pretty computer savvy, and am usually able to sort out a problem, but the lack of log files and specific error messages is limiting my ability to debug this problem

  • Lightroom 4.2 Installation Issue

Leaving this around in case anyone else has the same problem -- Solution found -- Windows installer issues / registry issues -- used the Microsoft Fix it tool (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2438651#reso3) to correct.  4.2 install ran fine.
I've read through the posts in the Lightroom forum regarding  LR 4.2 install issues. I will list here the things I've done to try to get the install to work:
    1) Downloaded the installation software twice.
    2) Ran the setup program in admin user mode.
    3) Ran the install in admin user mode.
    4) Get the following error in a Windows Installer window:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click ok to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'Adobe_Lightroom_x64.msi' in the box below.
    Use source:
    c:\Users\RMJF\AppData\Local\Temp\{...}
What I have found (after displaying hidden AppData folder):
The location where the .msi file resides is different from the one defaulting in the above window.
I select this alternate path, but still cannot complete the installation.
Furthermore, when I cancel the install, I get this error:
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.2 64-bit Installer Info
Error 1714. The older version of Adobe Photoshop Lightoom 4.2 64-bit cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group
I have been running LR since the beginning of time and most recently LR 4.1, so there is no 4.2 installed.
Also, I tried to fix the install of 4.1 via the programs in Control Panel. I cannot repair it and get this error:
The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.
All versions (except the 1.0 version) were downloaded and installed from the Adobe LR site.
    So, looking for suggestions.
Seems like there are some missing files from the 4.1 version that are hindering the install of 4.2???
All quite frustrating.  Hope you can get me to a speedy solution.
(System info:  Windows Vista 64-bit Home, SP 2, 20 GB of disk space to spare!  Also, I have set the install program to be allowed by the anti-virus program. I have run a registry clean-up, as well.  No other apps are running during the install.)

  • Lightroom 5.7 Installer Fails on Win 8.1 - Windows compatibility reports incompatible

Have had a case open since 15.2 and getting nowhere (0186366824). Was wondering if anybody here has encountered this issue and resolved?
New PC, clean install of Windows 8.1. My old 3.6 version of LR returned an installer failure and was advised it was incompatible and I needed to upgrade. 5.7 now behaves the same.
To date I have been instructed to downland full versions of LR - 5.5, 5.6 and 5.7. All fail at the installer running as Admin.
The last direction from support was a little scary considering I own numerous Adobe products:-
Please follow these steps to remove all Adobe folders from your computer and then retry to install it back:
    Remove Adobe Folders:-
    > C:\Program Files\Adobe*
    > C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe*
    > C:\Program Files\Common Files\Macrovision Shared
    > C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe*
    > C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe*
    > C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Macrovision Shared
    > (Hidden) C:\ProgramData\Adobe*
    > C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet
    > C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\
    Roaming\Adobe*
    > C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Roaming\com.adobe.*
    > C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Local\Adobe*
    > C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\LocalLow\Adobe*
    > C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe*
    Remove Adobe folders:-
Registry Editor (Type "Regedit" in Run windows)
    > Go to Hkey Local Machine\Software\Adobe
    > Hkey Current User\Software\Adobe
Now install Lightroom 5 from the below mentioned link:
      http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5741
And then Enter the serial Key of Lightroom 5 and then Lightroom 1
It will install and activate the product.

    Thank you very much.
I did uninstall Adobe Air, Adobe Reader XI and another Adobe product, rebooted, and after this the installation was possible with no problems!

  • Resize detached panels in framemaker_9 (beyond default limit)...

    Greetings,
I was wondering if anyone knew how to increase the size of detached panels beyond what seems to be a default limit. Is there a .ini or .inf file somewhere that controls this? Or perhaps a hidden setting somewhere in Framemaker 9?
I have noticed that after a reinstall and transition to a new PC (same OS and versions of FM, same monitor sizes and resolution, different PC), the panel resizing is smaller than what was, by about 1/2. The panel used to be able to be resized to about 1/3 the size of the monitor... now it's about 1/4. This happens with all detached panels, but the main focus is for the "Structure View" panel.
    Thanks in advance!

    FOUND IT!
I found out where the panel settings are held (in Windows 7):
    %SYSTEMDRIVE%\%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\FrameMaker\9\WorkSpaces\Structured\Struc tured Authoring.cfws
if you open up that file, there is a line in there that handles the size of the detached panel:
    data=#quot;5 10 #quot; minimum-size=#quot;400 80#quot; pref-unc-size=#quot;960 712#quot; pref-c-size=#quot;480 580#quot; maximum-size=#quot;1920 1160#quot;/>" host-cached-sizes="false"/>
the bolded part will set the maximum size of the detached panel in pixels. I noticed that the more panels/things you open in FM the more lines get populated in Structured Authoring.cfws.
I also assume that the first part of the line: "data=#quot;5 10" is the identifier for the panel. That part seems to not be replicated in any other part of the file. I'm not sure if these are univeral identifiers or are specific to my system upon creation.
How I found the specific line: I used this (http://www.cthing.com/Meazure.asp) tool to measure the panel maximum detached size in pixels and then looked in the file for corresponding numbers.
How I found the file: had the old OS drive that had FM installed that had a larger maximum size detached panel. Copied over the user specific files from the above directory to figure out if I was right. Then tried the files one by one until I hit the right one.

  • Lightroom 4.2 installation error - missing *.msi pathway

    Hi
I am having some problems installing the upgrade to Lightroom 4.1
I ran the install from a 'check for updates' and experienced an error that there was a network error and that Adobe_Lightroom_x64.msi could not be found.
I cannot find this file anywhere on my system, and it appears to prevent the deletion of lightroom 4.1, as when I go to uninstall through control panel I have the same issue.
At present I have tried uninstalling in safe mode, and system restore, neither have helped.
Unfortunately the end result is that I cannot remove the products from my system to reinstall and I have not found an answer through forums of from anyone online.
Can you possible offer up some advice?
    Rob

Could be permissions issues with the windows system restore and/or install cache. Dunno, since I don't use LR, but if this is the case, you might wanna check the relevant sub-folders in your Windows\Installer and Program Files\Uninstall Information directories. By default they are invisible system folders, so you need to use the respective Extras --> Folder Options or Organize --> Folder and Search Options to unhide them first.

  • Lightroom 5.3 installation fails (Windows 8.1 x64)

I had Lightroom 5.2 installed. I ran LR 5.3 installation from Adobe CC applications to update it. Installation failed with the following in log file:

I removed LR 5.2 from Windows Control Panel and tried to install 5.3 once again. Same error occures.
Is there a way to fix this issue?

  • Lightroom 1.4 Installs Adobe Downloader on Vista Again

Just a reminder to the Lightroom team that the Adobe Downloader with Lightroom on Vista is defective/incompatible and causes Lightroom to either fire-up or crash when one plugs in any USB device on Vista. The downloader is incompatible with Vista please fix this or do not reinstall on Vista based machines please.

It seems that your 10.1.4 installation is corrupted; do the following:
uninstall the corrupted Reader using http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
download and install Reader 10.1.4 from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
download and install the Reader 10.1.13 update from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=10&platform=Windows
disable Protected Mode using the registry script from https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/ec0f495a-e618-47c7-9ee8-c2d294b2aca7

  • Lightroom 5.2 installation fails - Javascript warning

I've tried to install Lightroom 5.0 and, just now, Lightroom 5.2. The installer fails with a warning: "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.2 can't be installed on this disk. An error occurred while evaluating JavaScript for the package." Not exactly clear. It also displays a warning for my primary drive and for the installer volume.
When I look in the installer log I see the following entry:
Oct 12 13:34:26 TM-MBP-2.local Installer[721]: JS: Package Authoring Error: Exception thrown while running volume check. TypeError: 'null' is not an object (evaluating 'my.target.systemVersion.ProductVersion')
This is also unhelpful. When I look into the console for errors I found the following entry:
10/12/13 1:34:23.000 PM kernel[0]: HFS: Vol: Lightroom 5.2 Very Low Disk: freeblks: 1084, dangerlimit: 1178
Apparently the Lightroom installer is complaining about the amount of disk space available. The drive I'm trying to install it has 134 gb of space available.
Any suggestions about how to get LR 5.2 installed?
    Tony

I also found a weird problem with VMware when I tried to start a virtual machine. After trying to track that down I found the following article: https://communities.vmware.com/message/2297745
According to this article the VMware problem is caused by the 10.8.5 update and can be resolved by:
    Solution to the issue is:
    1. Download the update package from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1686
    2. Create an empty mach_kernel file (otherwise the update installer won't work) using Terminal command:
    sudo touch /mach_kernel
    3. Install the OSXUpd10.8.5Supp.pkg from the downloaded file. It should restore the proper mach_kernel file.
After installing the update (and before restarting) it's possible to verify that the file was installed correctly:
    ls -l /mach_kernel
It should show the permissions -rw-r--r--, owner root, group wheel, and file size 8244640 bytes.
To prevent the mach_kernel file from showing up in Finder, run the command:
    sudo chflags hidden /mach_kernel
I tried this and I could start a virtual machine. I thought I'd try the LR 5.2 installer again and it worked! Yay!

  • Lightroom 6 stops installation. "Installier cannpt be initialized, please download Adobe Support Advisor"

Second day of the misery. No idea how to fix this. I downloaded the upgrade from Lightroom 5 to 6 and got serial and everything. However while running the setup, the installer stops with the error message  "Installier cannpt be initialized, please download Adobe Support Advisor". The link to the Sode Support Advisor just tells me that the Advisor is discontinued.
Anyone got an idea where the problem could be? Is Adobe somehow not supporting Lightroom 6 as stand alone any more?

would like to attach a log file, but can't figure out how, except in text. here it is:

  • Lightroom 5.3 installation fails

    Hello,
I have a brand new HP computer and I don't succeed in installing Lightroom 5.3.
The installation always stops at 42% and then I get the message "Installatie is mislukt" (installation failed)
"fouten tijdens installatie (7)" (errors during installation (7))
When I click on "meer informatie" (more information), nothing happens.
I had no problems during the installation of Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC and other programs of the CC suite.
    I have a HP Z 230 workstation with Windows 7 Professional (Service Pack 1).
Up to now there is 12 GB RAM installed.
It has a  i7-4770 CPU @ 3.4 GHz and I try to do the installation on a ATA Samsung SSD 840 SCSI Disk.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Yours sincerely,
    J D (Belgium)

Try locating  the lightroom exe ( Executable) file into Temp folder and  install the product by running that executable file.
    To locate Temp folder.
Hold Win ( Key) + R to open Run window.
    Type %temp% press Enter.
Locate Lightroom exe file into Temp folder and Run it.
