Lightroom 5 disk wont read

just received lightroom yesterday and tried to insert and install on my mac running os10.10...the disk is comparable with windows and mac...it spins around for a bit and then spits out disk...any help?

Open the disk using Finder and see if you can start the installer. Or, you could download the trial version and activate it with the serial number included in your package.

  • DVR 109 wont read disks

Recently found a old G5 (DB 2.0 - June 2004) in a storage room.  Which has the DVR-107PB superdrive installed; web searching shows that later versions shipped with the DVR-109.  Coincidentally, I happen to have a DVR-109 in an old PC too ;o)
The firmware on the DVR109 was already upgrade to 1.58 (the latest from Pioneer (back in the day)).
I'd like to replace the installed 107 with the 109, however, when installed in the G5 the 109 wont read any burned or blank disks... just spits them back out.
Dual Layer would be nice, anyway to get the Apple A912 firmware?

Hi, tough to tell what the problem is but $33 my be the simple solution...

I am trying to import cr2files from the camera into lightroom 5 and keep getting an error message saying Lightroom can not read the files and therefore will not import them.  Has anyone had a similar problem….thanks

If you are having the same problem, i.e. a disk permission problem, open your favorite search engine and search on, "change disk permissions", and I think you'll find plenty of information on how to fix the problem. This is a Lightroom forum. Your problem is with your operating system. There is no sense in rewriting instructions that are already available if you do a simple search.

  • I am trying to dowload pictures onto my macbook pro, but it wont read the USB adapter were all the photos are on?

Hey guys i got a macbook pro and this is the first incident that has happended to me sence i got it i cant figure out why it wont let me download pictures off my usb adapter it wont read it? help

So from your description, the drive isn't mounting on the desktop?
Open Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities), and see if the drive appears in the left pane. If it does, but it's greyed out, highlight it and wait for a few seconds - eventually the Mount button should become live - click it and see if that clears the problem.
If not, it's possible that the drive has been damaged, usually by removing it without unmounting (ejecting) it first.
If you have access to a Windows machine, it may be possible to mount it on there, eject it properly and try again on the Mac. This has been known to work reasonably frequently.

  • Lightroom 5 wont download

Like alot of others lightroom 5 wont download. It freezes at 42%. Im running windows 8 on a quadcore A4. Any ideas

Try locating  the lightroom exe ( Executable) file into Temp folder and  install the product by running that executable file.
    To locate Temp folder.
Hold Win ( Key) + R to open Run window.
    Type %temp% press Enter.
Locate Lightroom exe file into Temp folder and Run it.

  • PC Using Macdrive Wont Read Macbook Firewire

So I'm about ready to give up. I'm trying to use a Data Recovery Program from a PC I cant get on a Mac so I connected a firewire cable 800 9 Pin to 4 Pin from the PC to my Mac. When I reset the Mac holding down "T" in firewire mode it wont read on the PC. I got Macdrive on PC and it wont read. I tried just about everything I could find online for help checking disk management to disabling the 1394 in Network connections and then restarting and nothing.
Is there anything I can do?  I checked the Firewire in MORE INFO in this ABOUT THE MAC and next to Firewire it says Warning: Unable to list firewire devices. Does that mean the firewire on my Macbook is turned off? Big thanks to any help.

Run disk utility on the hard drive to repair it, also repair the permissions.

  • Pb g4 disk wont show on desk top will not eject

pb g4 disk wont show on desk top will not eject

Resetting of PMU yielded no success.
Here is what I have tried so far.
    * First try the normal methods to remove the disc. Drag its icon to the Trash can in the Dock or select 'Eject' from the File menu.
      no icon located on desktop
    * If you are running a virtual machine, e.g. VMFusion, ensure that the CD is disconnected from the virtual machine. This will sometimes allow the CD to now show up in Mac OS X.
      mute point for me
    * Shut down the computer and start up whilst holding down the mouse button. This may take some time, but keep your finger on the mouse button right up until the disc comes out or the log-in screen has appeared.
    did not work
    * If you have Toast Titanium installed on your computer, choose EJECT DISC from the menubar.
disk did not show up in menu bar to eject
    * Sometimes you can successfully use the eject disc button in iTunes even if the disc is not visible to the Finder
eject option was available in itunes but no response
    * Open Disk Utility and choose the disc you wish to eject in the left-hand pane, then click on the Eject button.
    disk is not visible
Some Macintoshes have a paperclip hole that you can insert a straightened paperclip into, manually triggering the eject mechanism
no orriface thta fits this discription as far as I can tell
    * Restart the computer while holding down Command-Option-O-F, to enter the Open Firmware prompt. Type "eject cd" without the quotes, and press return. The disk ought to eject. To start into OS X, type "mac-boot" without the quotes. Press return, and the computer will continue with the startup. (This will not work on an Intel Mac. There is no Open Firmware on Intel Macs. )
    no luck
    * If your computer has an eject button on the keyboard, restart the computer holding down the Option key. When the startup disk selection screen appears, let go of the option key and press the keyboard's eject button.
    this did not work either
I can hear disck spinning but dvd player shows the following prompt:

Anybody know what to do ?

I'm having the same issue and the log out and back in trick is not working for me.
I've just installed and when I try and launch the application, i see the splash screen for a split second and then the application crashes.
It is happening on both of my Retina MacBook Pros.
    One is: Late 2013 Retina 15" MBP - 2.6 i7 - 16GB RAM - 1TB SSD - NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2GB
    The other is Early 2013 Retina 15" MBP - 2.7 i7 - 16GB RAM - 256 SSD - NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1GB
    Same behavior on both.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I've trashed pref files. Not sure what else to do.

  • I changed the date on my mac to 1995 now date and time or start up disks wont open what can i do?

i changed the date on my mac to 1995 now date and time or start up disks wont open what can i do?

Many system actions will misbehave, given an inaccurate date. If you cannot open System Preferences you can reset your system date and time using Terminal.
Please read everything that follows before proceeding. Write them down if necessary because the effects of setting a preposterous system date are unpredictable.
Quit System Preferences, force quit if necessary: OS X: How to quit an unresponsive application using Force Quit
Open Terminal - it is in your Utilities folder and looks like this
You can find Terminal by using the Finder's Go menu and choosing Utilities, then double-click the Terminal icon.
At the prompt, you will be typing a command resembling the following:
    sudo date mmddhhnnyyyy
... but you must substitute the actual date and time in the command that corresponds to the date format used for your location. In other words if your custom is to use a date like 16 December 2013 then reverse the mm and dd values.
Substitute numerals in the above command according to the following:
    mm = month
    dd = date
hh = hour (24 hour format)
nn = minutes past the hour
    yyyy = year
Each of those values must be two digits except for the year which can be two or four digits. As an example if the current date and time is December 16, 2013 at 9 PM your command will be the following:
    sudo date 121621002013
    or
    sudo date 1216210013
    Either one will work.
To recover from your inability to use System Preferences to set the date and time, the value entered does not have to be precise, it just has to be approximate.
Enter that command using the actual time and date for your location and in the appropriate format, then press the Return key. Terminal will ask for your Admin Password - the same one you use when you log in to your Mac. Type it and then press the Return key. What you type will not appear, not even with •••• characters.
To determine if your change was effective just type the date command and press the Return key. Terminal will reply with the date and time. If it appears correct and in the correct format, you should be able to open System Preferences > Date & Time once again. Selecting the "Set time and date automatically" and choosing an appropriate time server will adjust your Mac's system clock to the precise time.

  • No music in iTunes library and it wont read the content of my iPod? Help please!

So I recently updated to iTunes 10.7 and when I did, all of the content in the iTunes library was gone! i have tried many different things to get it to work, like restoring to a previous iTunes library, but it appears that all the previous iTunes libraries were also deleted when I updated! If there is no other way to get the music back than finding the original files and putting them into iTunes, I guess that will be ok.
The second problem I am having is that when ever I try to sync my iPod it takes a very long time to load, and then it says that iTunes can't read the content of my iPod and that I should restore to the factory settings, but because there is no music or apps in my iTunes library I dont want to do that, because then I will have no way of getting all of my content back on. And I can't restore to a previous backup because it wont read it as my iPod, it just comes up as an unkown iPod. This is very frustrating and I have tried everything I can think of. Please help!

    Try:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Try another cable and another USB port
    - Reboot the computer.
    - See if you can find the media by:
    - See if a third-party progtam like one of those discussed here will allow you to get the music off the iPod
    newer copy
    - I think you may end up restoring the iPod.
