Lightroom 5 download from CC

If I own Lightroom 4.4 and want to download Lightroom 5 from my Creative Cloud membership, will the CC version 5 install as a seperate program or will it update my 4.4 version?

I haven't installed from the CC, but every new version of Lightroom is a complete new program that does not depend on a previous version for anything. So you will still have your Lightroom 4.4 installation as well, and you will be able to use it separately.

Problem Downloading Trial Version of Lightroom 4 from Adobe Site

I am having problem downolading a trial version of Lightroom 4 from the Adobe site. It appears that I can download trial versions of any other digital photography-related product but not of Lightroom 4. About 2 weeks ago I downloaded the trial version of Adobe Elements and I have been getting familiar with it. I have to make a decision on the best product for my needs.
I went to Vistek shop in Ottawa yesterday and one of the specialist told me that maybe Lightroom would better meet my needs. Prior to purchasing, I am trying to test both product to understand the fundamental differences. For some reason, when I go to the download site ( https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_lightroom) and click on the download button, nothing happens. Given that I am a System's Engineer by trade, I thought that perhaps I cannot install 2 trial copies of adobe products on a single workstation so I tried downloading Lightroom 4 from 3 different PC/laptops but got the same results...
Can anybody help. This is a bit frustrating given that the Adobe element trial is coming to an end (about 2 weeks) and I want to proceed with purchasing the RIGHT PRODUCT...

The link, just above, is the latest update to LR 4.2 which may work fine.
About the original trial download page you had issues with, it does take a few seconds for the download button to become active, and once you click it, it takes a few more seconds for either a login pop to come up or the download, itself, to start, so maybe you have a popup blocker enabled or some security that doesn’t allow the download to occur. You might try a different browser. The following link is what the download attempts to use, but you need to have signed in to your Adobe account before trying to use it, I think:

I can download (from cloud) Adobe Lightroom 4 but it will not open - error 0x000007b

I can download, from Cloud, other Adobe products BUT when I download Lightroom 4 it will not open and gives an error message "This application was unable to start correctly (0x000007b).
Previously I had purchased, singularily, Lightroom 3 and it worked well for almost a year but suddently when I would try to open I received the same error message as above. I have tried MULTIPLE courses to try to fix this but cannot.

Thank you for your reply. Other adobe apps are not a problem, i.e., Adobephotoshop, Adobe Acrobat Xi, etc. The version 3 that was initially purchased worked fine for several months and then reverted to the error message agove. When I purchased Cloud and downloaded LR4 the download was fine but again would not open. I have spent hours on the phone with tech help from India and it was a massive waste of time.... I ran a repair on Windows, downloaded 32bit version of LR3 and it seems to work some...could not find 32bit of LR4. I have installed and removed the program more than 10 times. I do not know what "event viewer" is nor where I would find it. Disappointed in the system and appalled with tech support.

Lightroom 3 won't recognize RAW downloads from canon 6D

I just purchased a canon 6D, and took some RAW test shots. I wanted to see what they looked like on the monitor, tried to download them, but it doesn't recognize the file. I think the version of lightroom I have isn't "new" enough to manage those files...I have lightroom 3...what do I do?

Yes, that's right, Lightroom 3 will not recognize the RAW from a CAnon 6D.
You can either purchase Lightroom 6 from Adobe, or use the free Adobe DNG Converter (I'm not sure what the latest version is but I know Version 8.8 had previously been released and will work) to convert the RAW to DNG and then import them into Lightroom 3

I have Lightroom 5 downloaded from the creative cloud. Lens profiles are not working for raw files. Canon 50D with EFS 10-22, EF 100 f2.8L macro and other Canon lens. None showing in lens profiles

When I first downloaded Lightroom 5 from the Creative Cloud lens profiles were working OK
Now it does not seem to recognize my camera - Canon 50D and lens - various Canon EF and EFS - All were recognized previously

I don't use these features, since I don't have such a cam, but could it be that you may need to input settings for filmback and distance of the lens mount somewhere? If the program operated based on wrong assumprions, the best profile in the world would be wrong...

Over exposure downloading from Nikon D300 to lightroom 2.3

Following upgrade to Lightroom 2.3 when images are downloaded from my Nikon D300 (raw or jpeg) they are all overexposed after quickly appearing in preview. How do I correct this. Is this a camera or software problem

I had the same problem with a D700.
Applying the Standard profile will correct the colors but not exposure.
Another thing to check is that you have not unable Advanced D-Light on your camera. Automode is the worst case because you don't even know how much over exposure is set!
This camera option is a tricky one: it overexpose your photo and make a built in camera process to recover details in the over/under exposed zones.
LR is not able to read this information (proprietary info in the NEF raw file) so the photo is over-exposed.
One way is to use the exposure LR cursor (-0.25 can simulate a light ADL..) but you will never have the same photo because Nikon processing is different and specific for each over/under exposed zones: sometime using the LR exposure brush is necessary on this zones (darken a sky for example).
Antoher thing is to desactive the Nikon ADL. You will then have nearly the same picture between LR Raw and your embedded Jpeg, you only need to apply the Standard or Neutral LR profil to correct the colors.
Then, if you want to recover some details in the over/under exposed zones, you can add a LR exposure brush on these zones. The good thing is that you control manually what Nikon ADL do automatically...

Question - recently upgraded my OS to Mavericks on MacBood Pro and can not download Lightroom 5 from Cloud, get continuous wheel effect (not the dreaded colored pinwheel, but a continuous circle of dashes). Anyone know how to fix this?

You description is far too vague to make sense of it. You have not explained what the problem actually was/ is, i.e. what warnings you get/ got, which functions didn't work properly and so on. Win 8 per se is not an issue and there is no general flaw in the software. Whatever issues you have are specific to your system and we would need to know much, much more to even begin to guess.

Masher please use the uninstaller located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder. Once Photoshop Lightroom is removed then please download Lightroom 5.5 from Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.5 and reinstall.
