Lightroom 5 exe does not work

I downloaded Lightroom 5 to upgrade from version 4.4 and the exe file will not open. Has anyone else had this problem

I may have just solved my own problem. Right after posting this I googled bezel lightroom and found this: Flickr: Discussing The word 'bezel' appears in the taskbar. in Adobe Lightroom
I changed the setting in the view menu and now everything appears to be working fine. I cannot explain why it stopped working before because I hadn't made any previous changes to the view options.
Still am curious about the memory usage, though.

Problem/Issue: when attempting to activacte new Anti-virus program I purchased, the system is trying to use Internet Explorer in the Program Files (x86) 32 bit iexplore.exe (that does not work). The 64 bit - Program Files/Internet Explorer/iexplore.exe does work... How do I fix/install 32 bit version of IE back to my system (in this directory)?

Try the following.
Click the Start Menu and select Control Panel. Open Programs and Features, Click 'Turn Windows features on or off' and remove the tick next to Internet Explorer 9 Click Yes then OK and then when done, restart the PC.
When Windows has restarted, click the Start Menu and select Control Panel. Open Programs and Features, Click 'Turn Windows features on or off' and re-enter the tick next to Internet Explorer 9. Click Yes then OK and when this has finished installing, restart the PC again.

Make sure you are linking to the application and not a shortcut. If using Mac OSX you may need to reveal hidden folders.

BExAnalyzer.exe does not work anymore after upgrade to FEP 3

Dear all,
after installing FEP 3 I noticed the following behaviour:
If I try to run the new Bex Analzer from the Menue (Start -> Programs -> Business Explorer -> Analyzer) nothing happens at all. Neither Excel does start, nor the Analyzer plugin is loaded at all. A start from C:\Program Files\SAP\Buiness Explorer\BI\BExAnalyzer.exe) does as well not work.
But running the Excel macro directly from C:\Program Files\Common Files\SAP Shared\BW\BExAnalyzer.xla starts Excel and the plugin is working as expected.
So the question is: is it a bug or a feature?

I checked all components of the installation and everything seems to be ok. The only thing that I fell over is the statement
"Ensure that the BExAnalyzer Application has authority to create dll's in the user's temp folder"
Do I really have to take care of this? How? (I already disabled the virus scanner, but the result is the same - it's not working)...

Access to a website with a URL ending on .exe does not work

I need to access a website with a URL ending on .exe - Internet Explorer does not have any issues but with Firefox I only get the "file download" dialog box. Is there a setting where I can prevent this behaviour?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Oracle 11g R2 Install on Windows 7 64 bit setup.exe does not work.

I am trying to install Oracle 11g R2 on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. When I execute setup.exe as Administrator the command window flashes and exits. I could not even see what the message is. Also tried command prompt. Can anyone help me resolve this issue?

Pathname for java.exe does not work

Hi all,
on Windows, when prompted for full name to java.exe, I enter:
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\java.exe
Next, pressing OK, I get an error:
Cannot find a J2SE SDK installed at path: C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06.
What am I doing wrong here?

OK got it.
I now use D:\oracle\Raptor\raptor\jdk\jre\bin\java.exe from my latest beta version.
This appears to work just fine.

Lightroom 4 Help does not work

When I go to Help in Lightroom 4 the search panel only has references to Photoshop Elements and not Lightroom. Is that normal? The Lightroom help is in the panel to the right but how do I search in it?

Running 90201iDS_Win32.exe does not work for download of Dev. Suite

I downloaded all the Developer Suite files for Windows and
ran the file10.bat first then the 90201iDS_Win32.exe and
received this message.

This program cannot be run in DOS mode.
How do i get this to run?

I downloaded all the files as well, and when I run the 90201iDS_Win32.exe file, a DOS window flashes but nothing happens. I saw someone else recommended changing the file to a zip file, but that only froze my computer. Anybody else having this problem?

Lightroom serial number does not work

Hi there, just bought a lightroom retail box with serial number printed on it. Trying to register my test version it says that serial number is invalid. Any ideas? Thank you.

Are you using the correct serial number?
It’s usually comprised of 24 digits.
You may have a retail redemption code which needs to be used to generate the serial number. See this link for further information:

Trial version LightRoom 5.2 does not launch

Downloaded and installed with no issues, when I try to lauch the application I get a pop-up screen "Lightroom.exe - Application Error", "the application could not start correctly (0xc000007b).
I'm using Windows 7 64bit.

The error usually comes up if the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable dll gets corrupted.
Please download the dll files from the following location (in solution 1) : http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/error-unable-start-correctly-0xc00 007b.html
and Extract the package contents to the following location: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom\
If this does not work then you can follow the steps mentioned in Solution 2 of the above mentioned KB.

Ora10g_win64_cient Setup.exe does not start

I downloaded ora10g_win64_client (10.1.0.2) and I try to install it on Windows 2003 Enterprise SP1 for Itanium 2 but when I try to launch setup.exe then a black windows named Oracle Universal Installer appear on the screen.
On this window the following message are displayed...

After 5 seconds the window disappear and the Oracle Universal Installer does not start.
Do you have any idea to solve that problem?

Thanks for your reply to my thread but I already did what you suggested without success and after further investigations we found that the problem is in the jre. The java.exe does not work, it return an unknown error. We tried to download the jre from SUN in order to use it instead of the one delivered by Oracle and it worked the installation succeeded.
But now we have a new problem, the Network Configuration Assistant does not work an exception is throw by the oranjini10.dll

Lightroom 5.4, syncing photo settings edited in CS6 does not work. Maverick OS 10.9, Raw 8.3.0141

I recently updated Lightroom to 5.4 and noticed that when the file comes back from CS6, the edit/sycn settings does not work. Selecting the gray area of the source file, and selecting another, clicking on the sync produces nothing. When I select a source image and another that has not visited CS 6 the sync works fine. I have used this simple technique for years with previous versions and never had a problem. Something has changed with the update and/or compatibility with the file coming back into Lighroom. Any thoughts about this would be appreciated.

ssprengel, thanks for following up. I work with DNG files in Lightroom that have been converted from Raw CR2 files. They are exported from Lightroom to Photoshop as Tiff files and any files that i edited and traveled round trip could not be used to sync other files in Lightroom. Even simple edits like saturation or exposure have disabled the file from being able to sync the settings to other files. I do most of the syncing of develop settings in Lightroom, but occasionallly I will adjust basic settings in Photoshop for one reason or another and after updating to 5.4 I noticed that sync worked fine within Lightroom only. I have tried a few changes to preferences with regard to how develop settings are registered with the file and that hasn't made any difference. Any ideas?
