Lightroom 5 exports with a significant change

Hi guys.
Okay, so after tons of hours trying to fix a problem that just does not seem to fix - and I have tried pretty much everything.
I just updated to Lightroom 5.6 - and I had the same bug on Lightroom 4 as well. Not on every picture, but it wasn't the first time experiencing this.
So here is the deal. So when I am done in Photoshop, I import my pictures to Lightroom to give it it's final touch. But when I export them, I see a clear difference - and not in a good way!
It seems like that there is no change at all. NR - definitely not, the picture look over sharpened and the colors have changed too. And then they get lighter and the quality is humongous. The images looks way flatter too. I have attached my image right under, so you can see the differences.
This is a screenshot I took in LR. It looks all fine - no problems.
This is the exported JPEG from LR.
So I tried some research in hope for solving my problem. Seems like I was not the only one having problems - and it also looked like it was a little bit of different things going on. And there was some solutions, but I never really found anything that answered my question. But I tried exporting it in all kinds of files and different color profiles. Nothing worked.
I use the normal Image Viewer on Mac. When I open it, it changes just one second after in the viewer. I then tried to import it into LR again to check if it really was LR that caused the problem. It was. I tried uploading it too. Nothing worked either.
So now I am stuck with the problem and pretty much desperate to get some help.
Please, can someone tell me what the problem is and does anyone have the solution?
Thank you!

Yes.

  • Lightroom 3 export with file limit

    Hi,
exporting to jpg with file limit set to 399KB sometimes produces larger files up to 450KB. Am I doing something wrong or is it a bug? Need this file limit to upload the files on a website with limitation to 400KB.
    Thanks
    Gerald

It's a bug. The file size limit seems to be fixed in 3.2RC but if you choose both file size limit and watermark, the watermark won't show up.

I would like to use slideshow in lightroom to export my video as a full screen 1920x1080 video with text overlays.  I am using text overlay in lightroom as it reads from the metadata that is easy for me to input in the library screen.  When i export from lightroom slideshow and choose the 1920x1080 resolution the end product is a very small video in the middle of a black background.  i have double checked and do not have any borders turned on.  Another option would be to export from the library but lr mogrify does not seem to put text overlays on video either.  Any input would be welcome.

I dont understand anything you said in your post.
Do you have a specific question about video production?
The forums are for individual technical or creative issues that users have with video production. I am sur someone will be able to help you, but and to get a response it is best to ask a specific question.
Is this about a technical problem you have or something about setting up a web site? If its the latter this is the wrong forum.

Hi! Why is the version file smaller than the original file, although I didn't make changes in the file? And why is the keywords don't exporting with original files?

Wild guess: you're using the the wrong export settings. You'll need to tell us more before we can help you - like the export settings you're usng, the size and format of the originals etc.

  • HR master data change export with Interface-Toolbox PU12

    Hello out there !
I implemented a HR master data change export with PU12 at one of my customers.
It works fine - with one little problem:
It is only possible to export one period (actual or selected).
Is there any possibility to export more than one period (also periods in the future) ?
The request is to export also master data with validity start date in a future period.
    Thanks for any help.
    Greetings, Holger Mächtig

    Dear Holger,
I am very curious about your problem last year. Is it possible to do a future export with PU12?
I am now working with PU12 for the first time and I have set up a export file in PU12.
But when I am doing an update without filling the name for the file layout I have the following error:
"An error occurred when opening the "export file"
When I am filling the file layout I have the following error:
"An error occurred when writing to an export file" (Error Number E107).
    "File processing: end of file".
When I am not doing an update the export file runs and seems right.
Do you know what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance!
    Kind regards,
    Yvette

  • Lightroom 5 doesn't export with a maximum long edge as instructed

What is going on with Lightroom 5?  I upgraded from 4 and now it doesn't export with a maximum long edge of 2166 pixels even though that is what it is being told to do.

    Hi Jim,
It fails to shorten to the maximum long edge requested, leaving longer-edged files in the exported folder.
Never had this problem with Lightroom4.  Just upgraded to 5.  My operating system is Windows Pro 8.
    Thank you for your time.

  • Lightroom not exporting changes

    Ok...
LIghtroom is not exporting my changes!
I have Export set to JPEG, not original.
maxed out LUMINANCE just to see if there was a big difference
or not. Still seems to be exporting the original for some reason.

Are you saying that LR is not exporting all of your changes (Exposure, Contrast, White Balance, ...) or is not exporting noise reduction and possibly sharpening changes?
What version of Lightroom? What operating system?

  • What will be the significance change I will experience with 2GB memory!

Currently, I am using a SONY VAIO with 256 MB memory. I honestly felt that things ran pretty smoothly. I've had many applications open at the sametime. However, I do recall working with video usually was a pain. So IMAC with 2GB is like 8 times the memory I have with my SONY right? Can anyone explain to me the significant change I will experience with 2GB of memory versus 256MB? I'm expecting for things to run even faster/smoother (if that's possible). As mentioned, I've been content with my Sony. But it's so outdated, that I needed something new.

the 256mb video card makes a huge differance for me using Maya and Photoshop. Rendering and filter effects are dramaticly faster. Maybe later i'll go with 3gigs of ram, but for now the gigs is working great.
if you're coming from 256mb of ram I think you will be hard pressed to find a single thing that isnt many times faster on a core 2 duo with 2 gigs of ram.
for example: on my prior G5 imac 1.8 ghz w/ 2gigs of ram it would take almost 3 hours to encode a full dvd to mpeg4 format. on my core 2 duo with 2 gigs of ram it took 35mins.
    hope this helps!

  • Lightroom CC exports Jpgs in wrong orientation ONLY when Overwriting WITHOUT WARNING

This is the first time I post so please bare with me, I will try to explain as much as I can because it is an specific issue.
The computer I have at work uses Windows 7 pro (Brand New Computer). I import pictures from a network drive, manipulate the pictures and then save them to the same drive. When I see the pictures in the folder browser on windows the pictures have a landscape orientation (even though they should be portraits because they are head shots). Once I import those pictures to LR they appear with the right orientation (portrait), so I play with the pictures and export them to a JPG file. The issue I'm having is when I export with the setting "Overwrite WITHOUT WARNING", I see the picture in the file explorer (Windows) and I can see all the changes I made, but with the old picture's orientation (the wrong one, Landscape) . However, If I choose to create a new file (not overwriting) it will have the orientation I viewed in LR. (The correct one, portrait).  Anyone knows how to export overwriting with the orientation I was seeing in LR?
    Thanks,
//UPDATE: Also, I just noticed cropping is NOT working when exporting with the same setting "Overwrite WITHOUT WARNING". I had to create new files on a folder and the move and replace in Windows File Browser.

Yes I have been trying to use my main catalogue, not the back ups - I thought the main catalogue was updated in synch with the latest back up - the reason you can fall back on a back up if all goes pear-shaped. .
I have managed to resolve the issue as follows:
I accessed an external hard drive (bootable back up of main computer) and the main Lightroom catalogue. Upon launching Lightroom it gave me the option to use the last saved back up Catalogue and as the default one. This workaround didn't work the same on my main computer as recent image imports and work done were missing.
I had to delete the main catalogue on my main computer and drag the one from the external back up HD to rectify the situation.
I have no idea why this has occurred as all I did on my main computer was delete 10 redundant back up folders after which Lightroom failed to launch citing one of the oldest back ups as missing.
I wonder why Lightroom saved the most recent back-up (upon closing Lightroom) in a Zip folder only? - not noticed this behaviour before.

  • When I export an image with a Green label, it exports with a "Green" keyword! How do I prevent this?

I've added a Green color label to an image. When I export the image as a JPEG and then upload it to Flickr, I find a "Green" keyword that I don't want. How can I turn off this behavior -- i.e., exporting color labels as keywords -- while preserving the ability to export all the keywords I added manually?
I know the keyword is coming from Lightroom because I temporarily changed the Color label's legend to "GGreen" and the keyword "GGreen" appeared in the Flickr upload dialog.
I inspected the IPTC data of the exported JPEG image with a 3rd-party program (Irfanview) but could not find "Green" (or "GGreen") in the file, but all my manually-added keywords are there.
I've tried all of Lightroom's Export dialog Metadata settings.
    Thanks,
    -- Sam

New information and some screen grabs!
The new information is that the unwanted label "Green" (or whatever color label is selected) appears as a Flickr Tag only when no manually entered keywords are attached to the image in Lightroom. Adding even one keyword in Lightroom and repeating the export-from-Lightroom-then-upload-to-Flickr process results in no "Green" tag in Flickr.
The images are a) the Flickr upload screen showing the "Green" tag; b) my Lightroom Metadata presets -- everything unchecked; c) my Lightroom Export dialog panel.

  • Is lightroom 5 compatable with windows xp

Hi,i was using photoshop elements 11 to resize and print my pictures to canvas  using windows xp but the printed size was never the same as the dimensions put into photoshop so i discussed with a friend who told me he had the same problem and he had changed to lightroom and that solved his problem. He was using windows 8.I purchased lightroom 3 to use with XP but i cant seem able to resize (larger or smaller) my images,ca this be done using lightroom 3,also, is lightroom 5 compatable with XP and are you able to resize in this latest version,i would appreciate any comments or advise, thanks

There is no resize option in any version of Lightroom.  If you need an image that is sized differently then you need to export a copy and specify the dimensions for that copy.  Your other question about Lightroom 5 running on XP; the answer is no.  Lightroom 5 needs at least Windows 7.  But if your motivation is to have Lightroom 5 and so you can resize your images, that feature is not there.  Your only option is to export copies sized to your liking.

  • Error message ''Disk Full' when trying to export with CS6, works fine in 5.5

I get an error message when I try to export media in Premiere CS6 that I don't have in CS5.5
I use export media for a AVCHD 60fps sequence with a few photoshop images on top of the main track. In the export settings I choose ''match sequence settings'' which gives me a .mpeg I- frame, 1920 x 1080 P, 60fps, quality 50, and a I tick the ''use maximum render quality'' check box at the bottom.
It used to work fine but now I get a message: Disk Full where there is 1.5 TB free on the disk?
I have the exact same sequence made in Premiere Pro CS 5.5 and it exports fine.
It started to act weird after I used the queue for the first time and it went to the CS6 encoder.
Since I used that once and it gave me that message for the first time, even when I try to do the same thing directly in Premiere CS6 , I always get the same error message.
Question 2, is there a place to change the settings from 50 to 100 for the quality of this export profile?
By the way I can export with other profiles without problems but this setting is the only one that I've seen that lets me keep my 60 frames per second in the export
process. (Example: I can export this sequence in the H.264, 1920 x 1080, 30fps, high quality preset, using the maximum render quality in CS6)

    Hi Guys,
Thanks for the input but if you read my message correctly and until the end I already can export to other settings and I want an answer to this problem. There's no logical explanation to why this suddenly wouldn't work with the same sequence that it used to do fine with and that CS 5.5 handles fine.
As I said earlier this is the only setting that lets me export my sequence with the 60 fps, that I know of, for further and easier manipulation. As my main camera provides me with these 60 fps I'd really like to be able to have them left in that transition phase and, no, I'm not gonna give up until I know, really, what's going on and solve that problem. If this is a bug it needs to be fixed, if not I want to know what's happening.
Also there's no answer to my question 2: Question 2, is there a place to change the settings from 50 to 100 for the quality of this export profile?
So for you experts out there the question is still hanging.

  • How do I stop Illustrator automatically adding numbers to file name when exporting with artboard?

I need to export with artboard. Illustrator automatically adds a number to my original file name. It won't even let me replace the old file. It is extremely annoying and makes flow with other programs really hard because they can't auto update, since the file name  changes. When you have multiple files, you can't be manually renaming all the time. Anyone knows how to fix this? Thanks.

This has been discussed a few times, and here is a summary of the usual solutions.
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2989508#2989508
What is it EXACTLY you are trying to do. Are you trying to export a single page from filename.ai  and make it filename.psd, (without any number afterwards). In that case you could delete the extra artboards prior to export, and then you won't have to checked use artbaords as there is only one page. Otherwise I would plan ahead so your end result will be filename-01.jpg,  filename-02.jpg, and then everytime you use export artbaords those names will replace.
I am happy with the function as is, and would prefer to have a serial number automatically after the name when checking use artboards. But sounds liek you and others desire more options and thte ability to turn off adding to the filename.

  • HELP! What are the settings to export with the highest quality (I will show my project in a cinema.)

    Hello,
I have a project I will be showing at a local cinema, and I need to have the best possible quality for that......
My source footage is SD, so I am exporting it as a MPEG2-DVD project, the first time I exported (with the default MPEG2-DVD settings) and burned it, it looked good (at least on my 34" TV) but I am not sure if that quality will be as good when projected on a cinema screen...
So, what I need to know is, which of the MPEG2-DVD export settings I must change in order to get the quality I am looking for.....
BTW I am using Adobe Premiere CS4 and the whole Creative Suite 4....
    Thanks in advance
    Al

If it looks good on your tv it will look good at the cinema.
The resolution will still be 720x480/576 if a dvd player is hooked up to the projector.
