Lightroom 5 full version does not install [added: on Vista]

Hi, I have downloaded (3 times!) the full version of LR5. The .exe file I get (same name and size every time) will not run. Double clicking on it generates some hard disk activity for a while and then nothing. I installed and ran the beta version of LR5 with no problem at all but then this was a .zip file not a .exe and Stuffit extracted it perfectly. I am using Vista with latest updates, I am the admin on the computer (yes, i have checked this), I have rebooted, I have uninstalled the beta version, but still no useful action from the .exe Very frustrating as the beta has expired and I have paid for the full version but am "dead in the water". This is the first significant install issue I have ever had on this PC - which isn't great from a brand like Adobe. Can anyone offer any suggestions. I did note a previous similar question on LR4 but I have already tried the suggested answer (reboot, log on as admin and so on...).

Are you aware that although the LR5 Beta ran on Vista, the LR5 final version does not?

EasyWMV full version does not want to fully download, why?

I downloaded the EasyWMVdemo,I found here on apple downloads,and it downloaded and worked fine. So I decided to spend the $15.00 to get the full version. I got the confirmation e-mail with the link for the download of the full version and proceeded to start the download,here is where i am having problems. I have tried maybe 4 or 5 times to download the full version but usually at around 1.3 to 1.6 MB of the 4.3MB download it stops and says Mounting failed. I don't even know what that means? I am using osx 10.5.1,and quicktime 7.3. I don't understand why the demo worked but the full version will not even fully download? Anybody have this problem or know the fix? The whole reason for using this program is I have videos I downloaded and quicktime will not play them. They are .avi,and .flv. and EasyWMV was supposed to be able to convert so quicktime could play. I guess what I am looking for is a way to play any videos I download using quicktime. Is there a way to do that? I really do not understand what the difference is between .wmv,.avi,.flv,etc and why quicktime will not play everything!

These are the downloads and the settings you need in order to view/hear pretty much everything that the net can throw at you: The setup described below has proved repeatedly successful on both PPC and Intel macs, but nothing in life carries a guarantee!
It is known to work in the great majority of cases with Safari 3.0.4, QT 7.3 or 7.4 and OS 10.4.11. (If you are running Leopard, ensure that all plug-ins have been updated for OS 10.5)
Assuming you already run Tiger versions OS 10.4.9 or above (this has not yet been verified with Leopard) and have Quicktime 7.2 or above, and are using Safari 2 or 3, download and install (or re-install even if you already had them) the latest versions, suitable for your flavor of Mac, of:

Adobe FlashPlayer should first be uninstalled using the appropriate uninstaller available here: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157&sliceId=2 and then the latest version obtained from here: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash and installed.

In earlier versions than QT 7.1.3 in Quicktime Preferences, under advanced, UNcheck Enable Flash, and under Mime settings/Miscellananeous only check Quicktime HTML (QHTM).
You should also ensure, if you are running Tiger 10.4.11 or Leopard, that you have downloaded and installed the correct version for your Mac of Security Update 2007-009.1.1, which also deals with the Quicktime/Flash issues you may have experienced, such as the '?'. What happened was that both Quicktime as well as Adobe FlashPlayer tried to play the Flash video at the same time. This no longer happens. (N.B. Security Update 2007-009 1.1 requires both a restart and a permission repair.)
If you get problems with viewing video on a website try moving this file to your Desktop:
Hard drive/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/QuickTime Plugin.webplugin
and then restarting Safari. If all now works, you can trash that file.
In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them). However it should be noted that Perian is not an internet plugin and will not play DivX files imbedded on a website. For that you will need the DivX Player browser plugin available from http://www.divx.com/divx/mac/
Now go to Safari Preferences/Security, and tick the boxes under Web Content (all 4 of them) to enable Java.
Lastly open Audio Midi Setup (which you will find in the Utilities Folder of your Applications Folder) and click on Audio Devices. Make sure that both Audio Input and Audio Output, under Format, are set to 44100 Hz, and that you have selected 'Built in Audio'.
Important: Now repair permissions and restart.
You should also consider having the free VLC Player from http://www.videolan.org/ in your armory, as this plays almost anything that DVD Player might not.

HT5127 I had one day left on my trial version of final cut pro x so decided to purchase the full version. Now I have both versions and the full version does not have any of the events or projects in it. What can I do?

Patricl, please answer Russ's question; and fear not, deleting or installing a version of FCP X does not delete or move any of your media or projects.
If the trial was from an older version (10.0.x), there is a necessary update procedure. 10.1.x uses libraries to organize your content, and the older stuff must be converted to the new organizational scheme, but it is well worth it.

Version 18.0.2 does not load Roboform 7.8.6.5 as a Toolbar. The Roboform version does not install. Please help.

Lightroom 4.2 update does not install MacPro 10.7.5running LR 4.1

LR 4.2 update downloads and dialog .pkg opens. Click and Install Icon briefly appears in Dock and dissappears. No "continue" dialog opens. Adobe tech took over desktop X2 without sucess. Apple says cannot help. Tried uninstalling LR 4.1, Tried in Safe Mode, many work arounds did not help. MacBook with 10.8.2 installed update promply. LR 4.1 runs just fine, but why can I not install the update?

I find understanding this beyond my knowledge. Original effort was 10:05:00 but repeated at 10:43.

Lightroom update 5.2 does not install

I have Lightroom 5.0 installed on my MacBook. Downloaded update 5.2, as file "LR_5_LS11_mac_5.2.dmg" (without the quotes.) When I click on the file update file I get a message " LR_5_LS11_ma not recognized".
How do I update LR5 to version 5.2?

It should be 453.7MB in size.

Lightroom 6 standalone upgrade does not install - does not validate the serial number

Hi,
I have bought (Adobe store) yesterday and downloaded Lightroom 6 standalone upgrade (I own lightroom 4).
During the installation in Windows PC I get the following message: "We are unable to validate this serial number for Adobe Lightroom. Please contact the support"
- the Internetconnection is fine
- checked etc/host
- double checked both serial numbers
It is just impossible to install the LR6 upgrade on my Windows PC. There were no problems installing and running LR4...
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

http://www.adobe.com/go/kb403051 has now been updated to contain the 1.6 version of Digital Editions.
Note that the instructions remain the same. Only the download is new.

Acrobat Pro 7.0 does not install on Windows 7, how can I get a version that does?

I recently downloaded and tried installing the non-activation version of Adobe Acrobat Pro 7.0 on my Windows 7 PC. After researching the installation error I read some posts that Acrobat 7.0 does not install on Windows 7. What are my options?

AA 7 will install, but it will not run very cleanly. A lot of things require workarounds. However, it is strongly recommended that you upgrade to AA XI for use on Win7 or Win8. AA 7 is not fully compatible and playing with workarounds is not a great use model. Looks like the price just came down also. You will have to purchase the full version. The upgrade version requires at least AA 9.

I had upgraded to FF 4.0.1 a while ago. Last night I got a bubble telling me that FF 4.1.0 was available and I should download and install. This version does not seem to exist. What is this about?

I had installed FF 4.0.1 and have been using it for a while. I am running Win XP Pro, SP2. Last night a messge came up informing me that FF 4.1 was now available and that it would be advisable to download and install it. I did this and everything seemed to work fine but when I look at the 'About Firefox' info under 'Help' it still tells me that I am running 4.0.1. Everything still seems to be functioning well but this disturbs me as it does not seem to have been a FF message. Can you please tell me if such a message was sent out, and if so, why, seeing as the version does not seem to have changed?

There is no 'earlier' version that supports XP. iCloud launched with Vista/7 support only.

You should be able to Save as: iWork 08, but i don't know how it works on Mountain Lion. On my Snow Leopard the Save as window has a part looking like this
