Lightroom 5 help please

I have just purchased lightroom 5 to replace my lightroom 4 and I'm running windows 7 64 bit system. after it has installed and i double click on the icon to run the program it comes up with application error and doesnt work can someone please help. if i download the 32 bit system it will work but i want to the 64 bit system?..

We probably need to know exactly what the error message is, or we can't help you.

Merging folders in Lightroom - Help please

I'm a wedding photographer who just switched to MAC. I have three separate folders (one is mine and 2 that I got from dropbox from my second shooter) I had incorrectly imported them into lightroom as three separate folders. I put them all into the same folder in my finder (4,000 images omg) and now I'm trying to re import them into LR so they will be in one catalogue that I can edit from. It's saying they are already imported and only imported 800 images into my new folder...can anyone help I'm pulling my hair out over here and lost all the edits I did from my first import. Feeling frustrated...Kelly

Ah yes, playing hide and seek with Lightroom by moving files in the Finder. A common problem but not a major issue for you.
Lightroom has a record of the images in the catalog it just doesnt know where they are since you moved them.
You should see an ! on each of the thumbnails that are technically "missing". Click on it and you will be asked to locate the file. Follow the steps to find the file in the Finder.
Be sure that the Find Nearby Missing Photos button is checked.
Lightroom will find all the missing images.
No need to re import.

Open the folder containing your catalog. In that folder you will find another folder with the extension .lrdata, and you need to delete that folder. After you do that, Lightroom should start normally and will create a new preview cache.

With regards to your .arw files:
You need to either purchase and install Lightroom 5.4 -- OR -- download and install and use the FREE Adobe DNG Converter version 8.4, did you actually launch and use the DNG Converter?
There should be no problem importing JPG files into Lightroom from your camera, what happens when you try? Is there an error message?

What OS are you on?
First step: go to library, and make sure LR knows the location of your files. In grid form, a question mark will appear in the border. If you have masses of red folders, go to the highest level, and ask LR to locate it. (sorry forget the command just now, and I have to split now. Er, Jam. Uh, I have to leave the computer for a while..

I need help please. Raw photo's.

Ok. I took some sunset photo's in Raw. I downloaded them on my computer. I couldn't view them on my PC. It wouldn't let me. A friend recommended lightroom 5 to view Raw photo's. I purchased and installed and it own't import my raw photo's. It said at one point that i don't have an updated software. This is the newest one they have.. Can anyone help please?

You shouldn't post the same question in multiple forums. But here is the list of cameras that are supported by Lightroom and Camera Raw. Locate your make and model and it will tell you what you need.

Trouble with importing .NEF files, help please?!?!

I am trying to import my .NEF files into Lightroom and keep getting a message that pops up stating "The files are not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom.". I have never had a problem importing .NEF files before. Does anyone know why I keep getting this message? Help, please and thank you!

Either the NEF files are from a camera newer than your LR version – each camera must be supported explicitly, OR your NEFs have been corrupted by using new camera NEFs with older Nikon software.
So either upgrade your LR to a new version or stop using obsolete Nikon software with your NEFs. You can use the following utility to fix the corrupted caused by obsolete Nikon software:
