Lightroom 5 Incompatibility with Windows 7

Hello, I am fairly new to Lightroom.  When I tried to install Lightroom 5 on my HP with Windows 7, I got a message it had not installed properly.  I re-installed and got a "Installation Successful" at the end. But, when I closed the program, I got a message box from Windows saying that there were compatibility issues and that Windows had made some adjustments.  Has any one had this issue?  By the way, I have never had an issue installing any other program on my computer which is about two years old.
I have created only on catalog so far with just a few photos.  I have not yet imported any of my other photos into LR5.  Should I just uninstall and reinstall.  How do I handle?

I’m not sure what the issue is as I’m running LR 5.7.1 on W7 without problem and I have over 50,000 images stored on hard drive and external hard drive.
I seem to remember some strange Windows message about latest compatibility and I just ignored it.

Lightroom 6 Install Problem - Resolved
Hey lucartl - try this. The trick might be, like me, you were hitting "Quit" in Creative Cloud rather than Preferences / Sign Out. I did the sign out, then started Lightroom - it asked me to sign in again to install it, then went through converting my catalog and now I am good. I haven't even signed back in to Creative Cloud yet, but my Lightroom (6 or CC) is good to go.
Have another go and watch out for Signing Out instead of Quitting.

What version of Lightroom would work with Windows XP?

Adobe does not sell Lightroom 3 any more, you might be able to find on-line sellers that have a copy

  • Does Lightroom 4 work with Windows Vista?

Hi, I can't find Vista mentioned anywhere in association with Lightroom 4. Before I purchase this software, could someone please tell me if I will have compatability issues between LR4 and Vista. Thank you

When LR4 was announced, they said it worked with Windows Vista with Service Pack 2. See: http://thelightroomlab.com/2012/03/adobe-photoshop-lightroom-4-now-available/
Since then, Adobe has un-helpfully removed that from its website, and now the website says you need Windows 7. see: http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom/tech-specs.html
Nevertheless, I believe that there are many people in this forum using LR4 with Windows Vista. Perhaps one of them will speak up.

  • How do I use CS5, Lightroom 5 & PSE11 with Windows 8?

I am about to purchase a new Windows 8 64 bit computer. I own copies of PhotoShop CS5 and PSE10 (also PSE11, not used yet) and want to buy and run Lightroom 5 once I have the new computer. Your website says CS5 is not Windows 8 compatible What are my options?

If you check the Moicrosoft site for Windows 8 you can see that Photoshop CS5 has been found to be compatible with Windows 8:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/CompatCenter/Home
You should search this forum using "Photoshop CS5 Windows 8" as search terms to see if there are any issues that have been addressed to help make installation easier.  In one case it was recommended to install in compatibility mode.

  • Is Lightroom 3 compatible with Windows 8?

I currently have Lightroom 3 (version 3.6) for my Macbook, but I am planning on buying a small PC laptop to use for traveling, and some of the PCs I'm looking at only come with Windows 8. I haven't been able to find much clear information about whether I will be able to run Lightroom 3 on Windows 8 - any help is appreciated!

You won't know until you try. Tpp many specifics involved. Same as with any legacy versions: Works for some, not for otehrs, may never work at all.

  • Is LightRoom 3 comaptiable with Windows 8?

I'm looking at upgrading my wife's current windows 7 laptop to a newer system but everything out there is running Windows 8.  I have been able to find any information on whether LightRoom 3 is compatible with Windows 8 or what the migration process is.  Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

Ask for specifics about migrating catalogs in the LR forum. On a more general level I don't think LR3 will be compatible with Win 8 and you may need to upgrade to LR4.

  • Is lightroom 5 compatable with windows xp

Hi,i was using photoshop elements 11 to resize and print my pictures to canvas  using windows xp but the printed size was never the same as the dimensions put into photoshop so i discussed with a friend who told me he had the same problem and he had changed to lightroom and that solved his problem. He was using windows 8.I purchased lightroom 3 to use with XP but i cant seem able to resize (larger or smaller) my images,ca this be done using lightroom 3,also, is lightroom 5 compatable with XP and are you able to resize in this latest version,i would appreciate any comments or advise, thanks

There is no resize option in any version of Lightroom.  If you need an image that is sized differently then you need to export a copy and specify the dimensions for that copy.  Your other question about Lightroom 5 running on XP; the answer is no.  Lightroom 5 needs at least Windows 7.  But if your motivation is to have Lightroom 5 and so you can resize your images, that feature is not there.  Your only option is to export copies sized to your liking.

  • Itunes incompatibility with windows vista

Itunes versions 7.1 and 7.2 do not work with windows vista correctly. Both versions interfere with uploading the DVD drive when booting up the computer. The DVD drive can not start.
Is there a solution for this?

It's possible that the song your playing does indeed have a little audio distortion in it, some media players are capable of filtering it out in a silent way, others play a beep, hence with one song I have, if i play it in windows media player it goes on and then for a split second theres a beep, iTunes doesent seem to do it, so instead of filtering out the missing data, it plays it.
This is more likley a problem with the song than iTunes

  • W540 - nfc incompatibility with windows 7

While there is are nfc and nfc-smBus drivers for the W540 with windows 7, there appears to be no utilities to connect the device to the OS for configuration.  The corresponding utility is called NFC quick connect for windows 8, and is consipicuously absent for win 7.  I'm surprised to find no prior messages to this problem, but considering all the other problems with the W540, I can see why this relatively minor issue has been overlooked.  However, I would like some verification from Lenovo that while you have supplied the drivers, you haven't gotten around to writing the utilites to actually implement using the device for win 7.  You do charge for the NFC hardware, so I'm hoping you actually provide the means to use it, and the hours that i and Lenovo tech support spent trying to find those means unsuccessfully, was just that we were looking in the wrong place.

    I have W540 too and I've downgraded from windows 8 to 7.
I still want to use NFC on my laptop, but application is avaliable only on Win8 in App Store (http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-us/app/848073fb-8410-47f6-8917-f751584fa96c)
Could you make version for Windows 7?

  • Lenovo G405 Incompatibility with Windows Vista-32 bit

Hello I'm new here so I wasn't so sure if this is properly posted here but thanks.
I bought a Lenovo G405 laptop that came with dos 6.22 or 6.2.2 or something. Then I performed a clean installation of Windows Vista 32-bit. The problem is that, I can't find any drivers for lenovo g405 that is compatible with windows vista .. Even the AMD Auto diagnostic tool refuses to install the detected driver since it was Hardware/Software Incompatible. Any suggestions? or Links for Win Vista Drivers for Lenovo g405. Thanks!

If your model is lacking the correct Vista drivers from Lenovo and Vista doesn't offer native support then I see upgrading to Windows 7 as your only option.  Here is a link to what Lenovo drivers are available.......

  • TS1388 Touchp pad problem (Incompatibility with Windows 8)

    Hello;
In addition to the Mac OS, I also use Windows on my Mac computer.
Everything was OK with Windows 7, but I updated the OS to Windows 8.
Everything worked fine in general; however the touch pad is not
supported in any way. Even though I can get the required driver (Apple
Multitouch) online from device manager, I am getting "Code 18" error
when installing it. The touch pad on Mac is not working in any way
    with Windows 8.
As another issue, I am also having problems with "HID Non-User Input
Data Filter". It says I have the current software, but it is not
installing and this device can also not be used. I guess it is not
    supporting Windows 8.
I do need your assistance to resolve both of these problems. I
contacted Microsoft previously and was adviced to get in touch with
    you.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,

MDT 2013 requires the ADK for Windows 8.1, regardless of what OS you are deploying (Windows 7, 8, 8.1).
You can use the ADK for Windows 8 to deploy Windows 8, but you would have to use it with MDT 2012 Update1.

  • Security Suite Incompatibility with Windows 8

My daughter bought herself a laptop, and upon attempting to install the Security Suite, that I pay for monthly through Verizon, she and I discovered that McAfee is not compatible with Windows 8. We tried to utilize the compatibility wizard, but that didn't work either. When will this issue be resolved, as I imagine many other people may purchase new computers and laptops running on the Windows 8 platform over the holiday season?

McAfee themselves do have a security suite that is compatible with Windows 8. I recently installed it for someone who asked me to do it while working on a new Windows 8 laptop they needed help setting up. I don't know if the Verizon Security Suite has been specifically updated for Windows 8 myself, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone out there does actually have it working.

  • Elements 3.0 incompatable with windows 7

I've recently changed O/S from XP to windows 7.  Tried to reinstall my photoshop elements 3.0 but I'm told there are compatability issues. Could someone please advise me. Thanks

To be honest i've never had much luck getting pse 3 to work right on a windows 7 system.
Probably your your best bet, if you want to to stick with photoshop elements, is to upgrade to photoshop elements 11, which
    works fine on windows 7.
