created by golman75 in Creative Cloud Download & Install - View the full discussionHi everybody,
I live in Poland and use Polish version of Windows 8, but I don't mind using English Photoshop, Lightroom or whatever. I even prefere English version as it's easier to find tutorials etc.
Just a bit more info from Adobe would help or maybe even just highlighting such hot topics. Current Customer Care is a joke.
There are five or more sites linking to each other to finally ask you a question of "Still need help?"
This issue is probably a nightmare and takes place in 75% Ligtroom 5.3 CC installing sessions in EU where guys are using other languages than English.
I was struggling for two days with this issue. Funny thing is I was very close of fixing it in first hour of my way but....
If I didn't accidently find Mystad's link I'd probably spent rest of week trying to fix it.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/error-installing-lightroom-53.html    says:
Any languages chosen that aren't listed below can cause this error to occur:
English, Dutch, Spanish, French, Italian, Gernan, Brasilian Portuguese, Swedish, Japanese, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Korean.
But it does not say there are 4 types of English on the list and in my case switching to English International does not work.
It does work with English (North America).
    Good luck!

  • Lightroom 4.3 to Lightroom 5 fails

I recently upgraded and found to my dismay that only the photos  in Lightroom 4.3 were passed into Lightroom 5. Everything else failed to come in, keywords, presets, identity plate, etc. Did I do something wrong when I upgraded?? Thanks, Jennings

Did you upgrade your LR 4 catalog or just re-import your photos?

  • On start up lightroom 4 fails with this message "Assertion failed" anyone have a solution?

    Thanks

After talking to Adobe support, they say that because LR4 has so many new features the catalog update doesn't always operate correctly!
Nice one adobe, provide an update path that "doesn't always work"!!!
The only way around it is to create a new catalog and import all the pictures from the failing catalog. In the process losing all published services! Not ideal but I'll have to live with it.
Surely the "assertion failed" message could write out to a log stating exactly what caused the fault. In the apple console all you get is
"31/05/2012 13:49:23.006 Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4: Oops! An untagged string (assertion failed!) got thrown far enough that we display it to the user. This shouldn't happen."
Come on Adobe this is poor!!!

  • Lightroom, Assertion Fail, and my utter frustration and disappointment with Adobe

Right now it is after 3AM and I have been trying for hours to get my very expensive Adobe software to work because it decided break even though I had not changed anything since it all worked correctly last weekend.
I have been using Lightroom since it initial beta and rely on it to do my job as a photographer. I upgraded to 5.4 the day it came out, which has not been several months ago. It all that time I have not had any problems. Specifically, a week ago it was working just fine. In case this is relevant, despite having full Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CS6 licenses, I went ahead and signed up for CC while the photographer bundle was still available. Anyway, tonight I came home after photographing and event and went to start the import process only to find that Lightroom decided it wanted me to register again, and then did two "Assertion Failure" popups before completely failing to work. This happens if I just launch the application or click on an individual catalog to open it. My deadline which requires the processing of almost 800 photos is what is now this afternoon.
    So far I have:
    * Run through the entire Adobe provided steps listed here: Error: 'assertion failed' | Update | Windows
    * Tried running the application as admin
    * Rebooted the computer
    * Uninstalled and reinstalled 5.4 using CC
    * Uninstalled and installed 5.3 manually
    * Manually installed the 5.4 upgrade on top of 5.3
    * Tried Chatting with a "Customer Service" rep. This name is completely false. As a customer, the service I need is for the software that I both bought and subscribed to to work when I need it to work for my job. The person I was selected to chat with told me that they had no way to help me with any sort of technical issue and I would need to call tech support starting Monday at 5AM. This is completely insane. Why are they even available on the weekend if they can't solve technical issues? Who sits around on Friday night with issues important enough to contact support immediately that aren't technical in nature?
This is made even more fun by the fact that it would appear all or most of the Adobe website is offline right now.
At this point I am at a complete loss for how I am suppose to make this work. Any suggestions for solutions other than was I have listed above would be greatly appreciated. If some technically capable Adobe person happens to see this, I would be more than willing to provide any debug output that might be helpful.

Try deleting your preferences file (I mean: rename, or make a backup before deleting). This page has location info:

  • LIGHTROOM INSTALL FAILS. Data Image Corrupted. All Adobe fail. MAC

I am trying to install Lightroom 5.6 trial on my MacBook Pro Early 2011 running Mavericks 9, latest.
Actually any Adobe  installer is failing that i try. I tried the Illustrator one to see if it was Lightroom only error, it' isn't.
I have used the SAME DMG file as my friend did with no problems whatsoever on her Imac, same version of Mavericks.
I have turned off disk image checking in Disk Utiliites.
This allows installer to extract, mount and begin installation before it fails with another error.
I have gone through removing anything and everything Adobe, Creative Cloud etc as per the Adobe guidelines.
Even went as far as 'reinstalling' Mavericks, although this was through recovery so as far as i know isn't a full and total erase and start again as it keeps all personal data etc.
Stumped. Someone else must have had the sane problem and/or an answer !

Cofl if you Mac does not meet the system requirements listed at System requirements | Lightroom then that would prevent installation.  It should not affect mounting the DMG successfully.
If you are running Mac OS 10.9 then it is likely you have a Mac with a 64-bit processor.  If you have worked around this requirement for your OS to allow Mac OS 10.9 to be installed then behavior in general may be unexpected.
If you can mount the DMG file on another Mac you could try copying the content of the DMG to a USB drive.  Have you verified that you problems with no other DMG files?
As for your last suggestion.  If you are facing difficulties with multiple DMG files in multiple User accounts then it may be a good idea to back up your documents and settings and reinstall the operating system.  This is after you have confirmed that the DMG files themselves are not corrupted.

  • Lightroom mobile failed to sync

modified photos on my iPad . They failed to sync and the changes are gone?

    Hi,
unless you have reset the changes they should still exist in Lightroom mobile.
Can you please let us know what failed to sync means? Are these images originating from Lr Desktop or Lightroom mobile?
Do you have sync problems with Lightroom Desktop too?
    Thanks,

  • Installation Lightroom 6 failed

Tried to install downloaded Desktop-version of Lightroom 6 on Win 7 64 bit.
If I start Set-up.exe after some seconds appear error message: Installation failed. installation program not initialised. may be a file is missing...
    Any ideas?

I did not get a solution up to now.
The message you get, did not appear at my computer.
Friday I reached support via telephone (was very hard to get the number and if I got the number, it wos hard to get someone to the line) Support ask me to delete a certain directory but that changed nothing at all.
Today I'll try to get support again.

  • Lightroom 6 fails to provide GPU acceleration support for my AMD HD6950 OpenGL version is 6.14.10.13283 (accordingly AMD CCC).

Is there any way to make GPU acceleration to work with this? Driver is up to date:
Graphics Processor Info:   Check OpenGL support: Failed Vendor: ATI Technologies Inc. Version: 3.3.13283 Core Profile Context 14.501.1003.0 Renderer: AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series LanguageVersion: 4.40.

Apparently downgrading to driver version 14.4 has worked for some. See this lengthy message thread: OpenGL Failure in Lightroom CC

  • Windows 8 lightroom installation failed

    Hello,
The installation of the latest version of Lightroom 5.7 failed. The reason see below.
I tried to delete the folder in windows but I cannot delete them because I do not have enough rights. I tried to take over the ownership of the folder but that also doesnot work because the owner is not changeble.
Has someone an idea what to do?

ERROR: Third party payload installer Adobe_Lightroom_x64.msi failed with exit code: 1603

If you are logged on as an administrator you can use this solution to take control of the folder.
To take control of the folder that you cannot delete create a text file called “delete.bat” and add the following lines to it:
    SET DIRECTORY_NAME="C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7\Resources\CameraProfiles\Camera\Sony ILCE-5100"
    TAKEOWN /f %DIRECTORY_NAME% /r /d y
    ICACLS %DIRECTORY_NAME% /grant administrators:F /t
    PAUSE
You will need to change the directory path to match your requirements e.g. “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7\Resources\CameraProfiles\Camera\Sony ILCE-5100y”if it is not correct.
Right click on the file “delete.bat” select “Run As Administrator” and you should now have full control of the directory and all sub directories meaning you can do what you wish with them.

  • Lightroom export fail with errors

    Hallo,
with export of LR 6 I have the following problem: When I select a couple of pictures to export, the export fails after a while with the error, that some pictures - not all - can't be read. After multible tries with the pictures failed, export has done successfully.
    Regards
    Gerhard

    Hi,
This problem only happens in LR6. I had the issue for days.
I happen to have Adobe Bridge opened to the same folder that LR6 was exporting to. When I clicked on a different folder, the problem disappeared. It seems to be some sort of a file lock issue.
    best
    Wesley
