Lightroom 5 Stand Alone????

I recently started using LR 5 as a Trial, and I now wish to buy it.
I cannot find any way to do that.   I can only find a link to buy LR 6, or to buy the full CC - which I do not need.
How can I get that Trail of LR 5 operable again by buying it?

Untrue: you said "Adobe doesn't allow that", it does allow you to continue using LR 5
You can puchase LR 5 at Amazon or B&H or Adorama and probably other places.
Can I buy an upgrade to use LR6? I didn't see that.
Yes, you can purchase an upgrade to LR 6 for 79 US Dollars at Products, click on Buy, change Full to Upgrade

Hi I live in Panama and I want to know how can I buy online the lightroom stand alone license
    thanks

The only contract-free iPhone 6 that is unlocked is the T-Mobile unit sold directly by Apple.  That is a GSM iPhone.  If the 4G/LTE bands are the same in Panama it should work.  But check with your carrier to see which system they use (CDMA or GSM) and can you just purchase a nano-sim to use in the iPhone 6.

  • Is Lightroom Stand-Alone?

I am an amateur photographer using Photoshop Elements. I am wanting to find software with some other options, but can't justify purchasing Photoshop. Is lightroom stand-alone, and would it be a good purchase in order to adjust and modify my photos?

LR's focus is on RAW files.
While it can also be used to manage and tweak your JPEGs and Tiffs, that
is basically a convenient addition. You just won't be able to edit your
images in the same way as you could from a RAW file, because only the
RAW contains the full amount of information your camera is able to
    record.
You also need to be aware that an image *needs to be exported* from LR
as for instance a JPEG or Tiff in order to use it elsewhere.
This step alone adds a considerable amount of time to the whole process
and I honestly doubt it's worth it, if you shoot mostly JPEGs and are
    happy with them.

If it is asking for a serial number for a previous version then you purchased an upgrade version rather than a standalone version.  You should be able to determine this based on the price you paid.  If you do not own an earlier version then you need to purchase a full version rather than an upgrade.  If you did purchase a full version but acquired an upgrade version then you will need to acquire the full version.

  • Lightroom stand-alone licensing problem

    Hi all,
I've been using Lightroom 5.6 on a trial basis for a couple of weeks and I want to go ahead and purchase a stand-alone license. So I downloaded the "full" version of LR from Adobe and started it up (no problems reading my existing LR catalogue). Then I get the "Welcome to Adobe Photoshop Lightroom" dialog. Two options: "I have a serial number and want to license Lightroom" or "I want to try". So I select the first option, then underneath it says "Need a serial number?" with a "Buy" button. At the bottom under "Country/Region" I select "Canada" where I'm from. When I click on "Buy" my browser opens. For just two seconds a screen appears at the URL http://www.adobe.com/store_selector/storeselector.html, where it looks like I'm supposed to identify my country/region again. But immediately the browser is redirected to the Product Catalog (http://www.adobe.com/ca/products/catalog.html). But here there is no option to buy a stand alone license. If I click on the Lightroom link it just takes me to the general product info page, with no option to buy except from Creative Cloud (which I don't want).
Anyone know how to buy a stand-alone license for Lightroom?
    Thanks,
    Alex

Go to your Adobe website (Canada), MENU, All Products and select Lightroom (Full or Upgrade - If you have a previous copy).

  • Lightroom Stand-alone Operation

I have Photoshop Elements 8 and I've just received an e-mail announcing a special deal on Ligthroom 5.  I do not use my photo editing SW often enough to warrant a monthly Creative Cloud subscription.  I've looked on like for Ligthroom specs but can't determine if Lightroom 5 can work without access to the Cloud.   Any answers?

    Hi StarPilot01,
If you do not want to switch to subscription then you have an option to purchase perpetaul license of Lightroom with serial number. Please go through the link for pricing details: http://www.adobe.com/products/catalog/software._sl_id-contentfilter_sl_catalog_sl_software _sl_allsoftware.html?start=50 .

  • Can't install Lightroom 5 on a second computer, I am NOT a creative cloud customer, I am a stand-alone user.  How do I enter my serial number???

I can't install Lightroom 5 on a second computer, I am NOT a creative cloud customer, I am a stand-alone user.  But when I try to install on my laptop, it always trys to sell me the monthly membership.  How do I enter my serial number in the second copy of lightroom?  It won't ask me for it, and I cannot enter it anywhere in the settings?  I am stuck

You probably downloaded the Cloud version.  Get the licensed version thru the following linked page...

  • How best to INSTALL my downloaded purchase of Lightroom 5 stand-alone ver. (NON-CreativeCloud) on my Macbook Pro OSX 10.9.5 ?

So, I’ve just downloaded my purchase of Lightroom Photoshop 5. I bought it via Adobe.com and it’s the full desktop version, stand-alone software version.
Important FYI:  Please note that I bought the non-CC Lr program to download.
Question: How do I properly INSTALL it after downloading it onto my Macbook Pro using OSX (latest Mavericks ver. 10.9.5) ??
I can only find installation instructions for Lr CC and mobile but not for the full, non-CC licensed desktop version which is what I have!
Perhaps the above is the same step-by-step install process as my said Lr 5 but for whatever reason Adobe doesn’t say so anywhere that I’ve been able to find.
    Any help?
    T.I.A.!
P.S. FWIW, I’m mostly asking because I’m just afraid to mess up something or install it wrong or in wrong place; I want to make sure I do it correctly so not to corrupt the installation or whatever, even though I’m fairly sure I know how. Double-checking for my own confidences/sanity…

  • Using Lightroom 5 as stand alone to convert RAW, then save to CS2?

I am a professional photographer, and I am perfectly happy with my CS2 version of Photoshop, as I can get it to do everything I need, without spending another $600 on the newest version.
Unfortunately the new camera I purchased needs either CS6, or Lightroom 4-5 to process the RAW files.  Can I simply purchase Lightroom and use it as a stand alone product, then save the file as a tiff to further work on it in my CS2?

Yes, you can do that. You can designate Photoshop CS2 as your external editor. When you choose to edit in Photoshop you will receive a warning that camera raw is out of date, and you can choose to render a copy with Lightroom adjustments. You can configure Lightroom so that the copy will either be a PSD or TIF image. I think most people prefer TIF. Then you can instruct Lightroom not to show that option anymore. From that point forward any time you choose to edit in Photoshop Lightroom will create the TIF image and pass it on. When you save the changes in Photoshop those changes will be reflected in the TIF image that is in the Lightroom catalog.

  • How can I get my stand alone Lightroom 5 to work in the Develop function? It's disabled

My Lightroom 5.6 is stand alone. I once subscribed to creative cloud, but I cancelled it because it was too complicated to use. Now, somehow the develop module of my stand alone 5.6 lightroom is disabled. It says please renew your to reactivate your membership. My software is stand alone, and I don't want to reactive creative cloud. I want to get rid of it. How do I do this?

You get the develop module to function properly by installing the standalone installation of Lightroom. If the develop module is disabled you still have the creative cloud installation. It will have to be removed. You can download from here:
Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1
Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1
Performing this uninstall/reinstall will have no impact on your images or the work you have done in Lightroom. The catalog and your images are left intact.

  • Lightroom 5.7 will not convert .nef to dng from my Nikon d750. Stand alone dng converter will not recognize or convert the files.

Lightroom 5.7 will not convert .nef to dng from my Nikon d750. Stand alone dng converter will not recognize or convert the files. Any know whats wrong?

I don't understand why you feel you need to use ViewNX to download your images from the camera. Lightroom has an excellent import process. I don't see that you gain anything by using the Nikon software. It seems to me that it has the capability of just creating more problems.
If you want to convert your D750 files to DNG using the standalone DNG converter thing you need to have DNG converter 8.7 installed. Once you have it installed, just choose the FOLDER in the DNG converter, but don't open it in the DNG converter file browser. If you open that folder then you will get the message that there are no files to convert. The converter works on the folder level, not the individual file level.

  • Where can I find the link to download the upgrade from 5 to Lightroom 6 (stand alone) version?

Where can I find the link to download the upgrade from 5 to Lightroom 6 (stand alone) version?

Just to be clear for others who might read this thread: There is a free trial available for both CC and standalone (perpetual license) customers.   The free trial for both sets of customers is called "CC"; but if at the end of the trial you want to convert to a standalone (perpetual) license, it's just as easy as with previous versions.  You pay $149 ($79 if upgrading), get a license key, and enter the key into the free trial.

  • Lightroom 6 stand-alone version and creative cloud desktop app

Will the stand-alone Lightroom 6 version install also "creative cloud desktop" application (like the cc trial) or will it be really a stand-alone software, without any other software (which will continuously and silently connect to the internet) "bundled" ?
    Thanks

Thanks, that's unfortunate.. I'm planning to update and I really hoped that buying the stand-alone version would have resulted in having a different installer but to me it's a selling factor not having additional software that does its things online without asking (which, if blocked with a firewall, prevents the trial of LR to work at all).
I'll try to understand if the cc will also be uninstallable afterwards keeping lr6 working correctly (if you'll try to uninstall it in a month, please let me know).

  • Student discount for Lightroom 6 upgrade (stand-alone version)

    Hi!
I was just wondering, if there is a student discount for the new lightroom 6? I would buy it as an upgrade and as a stand-alone version.
    Thanks in advance for insights!
    Cheers

JimHess: Yep, I just got LR 6 as an upgrade from LR 5 for $79. Thanks!
opdesigns: It is the upgrade which you can get for $79. However, the upgrade will only work if you have a valid licence key for your previous version. I faced the issue that I did not have mine with me, since I am travelling at the moment. But this page helped to find my key : Preference and other file locations in Lightroom 5
