Lightroom 5 with Canon in Pack and Nikon DSLR

Good day. I would like to ask you whether Lightroom 5 supplied with Canon DSLR is fully functional without restrictions and whether that supports Nikon cameras. Or it is blocked only for Canon DSLR and Nikon DSLR not supported. I have the opportunity to purchase this version, but own Nikon D300. Sorry for my English :-) Thank you very much Rosta A.

Do you mean someone is offering to sell you a disc that was bundled with their camera?
I doubt LR, itself, is crippled, but there could be some restriction for licensing or some hoops to jump through to get the serial number, which might only work if you have the camera’s sales receipt or know other details about the purchase.
There may also be fine print that says only the person who purchased the camera can use the LR serial number.  I don’t know how Adobe would enforce that restriction, but maybe they have some way, especially if this LR version is for a camera purchase in a different country.

  • Does anyone use Cineform Neoscene with Canon t2i footage and Premiere Elements 10?

I'm wondering if its worth the $100.00 investment - not looking to spend more money but I really want to avoid the hassle I've had with other editing programs...... I will be using MOV H.264 footage from Canon Elph 500 and Canon t2i and looking ffor the easiest workflow and I came across this item and am wondering if people have used it.
    Thanks!
    Maureen

QT Pro can do Cut-and-Butt editing, and if that is all done, can Export without Retranscoding the footage.
For much more than that, however, it lacks the capabilities.
I do not know how well CineForm's NeoScene works with PrE, but before PrPro got full AVCHD native support, was very popular with the PrPro users. I cannot recall anyone having an issue with it, in that program, but might have missed a complaint, or two.
    Good luck,

  • I bought lightroom 5 last december I install on my old PC. But today I buy a new Mac and I try to reinstall my lightroom with the serial number and it's said it 's wrong number.  Can have a new number?

I bought lightroom 5 last december, I install on my old PC. Today I buy a Mac and I try to reinstall my lightroom with the serial number I have.  It's said wrong number can I have a new number?

This is a user to user forum so there is no one here to provide you with a new serial number or to reset your serial number.
It is possible that you are trying to activate an installation of the Creative Cloud version of Lightroom. It is not possible to do so with your License Key. You need to uninstall the existing version that you have installed. This will not interfere with your catalog, Preferences or personal files, it will just remove the application.
Then download the perpetual license from the link below. Install and it should accept your license key just fine.

  • Using Lightroom with HP B9180 printer and WIN Vista

Does anyone have experience using Lightroom with the HP 9180 pigment printer and Windows Vista? I'm considering moving from a dye printer to a pigment printer but have noted in discussion groups there seem to be some difficulties of getting good prints out of Lightroom with various printers.

Using Vista with B9180 via Ethernet, works great! If you upgrade the B9180 firmware, do it via USB.

  • Does Photoshop work better with Canon EOS 7D or Nikon D7000?

    18.0 megapixels - Canon EOS 7D
    16.2 megapixels - Nikon D7000
Also, I keep reading the best digital image format to work with in Photoshop CS5.5 is RAW.
    Is this right?
    Thank you.

You should know that the sensors are made or at least created by the same company it is a question of specification by the manufacturer that determines which sensor and advance standard the sensor is made.
That being the case Canon has traditional jump the gun to select the more advanced technology rather than wait for that technology to be 100% perfected as in a full frame 35mm format sensor.
Also they have consistently favored larger pixel count over quality of the pixel itself and use software (the firmware) to smooth the result giving it that slightly soft quality.
They do this with their lenses as well in particular to their Shift Tilt lenses which had to be updated since Nikon waited and were very successful with that update as well.
It is not that the cameras as not popular or good but if they wait they might be able to give their customers the better product.
Like the sensors the Shift Tilt lenses seem to be made by the same company but with different specification and perhaps different glass.
The two cameras you are speaking of are not their high end cameras but like all the products both companies make they are good depending on what you need.
And counting pixels is kind of ridiculous these days as the New 1DX has a lower pixel count then its predecessors because they found that making larger pixels enable them to control the noise better as Nikon discovered.
I still use the D3 and my client in Paris often enlarges the images to over a meter in hieght with amazing detail and it could easily be resampled much larger.
And you are talking about 12.1 megapixels to start with so the game of pixel has some meaning but not much.
When they perfect the noise control for smaller pixels then the technology for a larger pixel count will have some weight right now that is not the case although from what the they claim about the 1Dx might prove to be an indication that they hav made some strides in this direction it reamins to be seen if Canon has jump the gun again which I suspect they have done.
Doing things in a rush is often the slower way to a goal.
Let see if Canon jump the gun again. I would think Nikon woud have been on it if they thought the tehnology was finished they get the sensors from the same place.
So far all I have seen is that the body looks good?

  • Issue with Canon Legria HF20 and iMovie 09

I am having an issue with using the Canon Legria HF20 (which is the PAL version of the Canon Vixia HF20) with iMovie 09, and I am trying to confirm whether other people experience the issue.
I recently purchased the video camera, and while I am having no issues shooting in 25p, I am having an issue with 50i. When I shoot in 50i and import into iMovie at 'Full-Original Size" the footage displays with a horizontal interlaced combing effect, whereby if the camera moves left or right, horizontal lines appear, which causes the edges of things to look jagged. This is difficult to see in the small preview box, but is easy to see if you preview in full screen. I have been told that this shouldn’t occur as iMovie should recognise that the footage is interlaced and adjust the footage when being previewed (thanks Steve Mullen for confirming that). Again, there is no problem with shooting in 25p.
This link has an example I found on the internet of what I am seeing: http://media.photobucket.com/image/deinterlace%20video/jlatenight/deinterlace.jp g
Also, when I export the footage from iMovie using 'Export using Quicktime' at either 1080i or 720p, the footage remains interlaced even though I have selected 'Deinterlace Source Video'
So far I have been unable to get to the bottom of this issue. I have spoken to Apple and they are saying that while the Canon Vixia HF20 (NTSC Version) is on the official list of cameras supported by iMovie, the Canon Legria (PAL Version) isn’t, although they couldn’t say whether this could have something to do with the issue I am having.
Therefore, I was wondering if anyone could confirm whether they have experienced this issue. Can you please confirm that you are using the Legria version and not the Vixia version of the Camera.
I would really appreciate your help.

Well, it seems to me that it looks the same. I am not an expert here, but it occurs to me that you can either shoot in 25p or de-interlace it from 50i. I think it gives the same quality but the latter is more complicated unless you have the Final Cut.
Here I got an intersting link on that matter:

  • How to make my card reader  open in camera raw when I insert  sd card with Canon 6d images and also link to CC version Ps?

How do I make camera raw and photoshop cc open when I insert sd card from 6d canon. this canon code was not supported in my cs5 Ps.

I could see you wanting LR ,Bridge or some other image organizer to open.  ACR is not a start able application and Photoshop has no feature to import images from your camera's sd media to computers storage devices.  I just use Windows File explorer.  Look at your OS learn how to change you card reader's autoplay settings. On windows you will find information like this.

  • Jam Packs and "Garageband Instruments" when reinstalling Logic?

What's the proper procedure when it comes to Jam Packs and 3rd party Apple Loops libraries when reinstalling Logic and OS X?
I'm keeping my Apple Loops on a separate drive and know that I can just drag them to the Loop Browser after reinstalling Logic. However, by doing so, I don't think I'll be getting the "Garageband Instruments" that are installed with the Jam Packs and some 3rd party Apple Loops libraries. Is that correct? If so, what's the best way to deal with this? Always installing all Apple Loops from the disks or perhaps saving a folder (which one?) with the Garageband Instruments before re-installing OS X?
When I last installed Logic, and told the installer to install the Jam Packs on an external drive, they were still installed on the system drive! Does anyone know why? Now what's the best way to move the Apple Loops? What I've done in the past is installing them to their default location, and then creating an alias in Home:Library:Audio:Apple Loops folder that points to the new location on the external drive. Is that the way to go or is another way better?
Any input or help would be greatly appreciated.

Jam packs consist of two types of content. Loop content will go to where you choose to install it (an external drive if you wish). Instrument content has to go to the GB library, for a number of reasons, and the GB library will be on your system disk under Application Support/Garageband.
So backup your GB library in addition to your Logic related stuff.
It is possible to move much (but not all) of the heavy Instrument content to an external drive too, but there are gotchas with this.

  • ADF Faces with NetBeans Visual Pack

    Hello all,
I have NetBeans 5.5.1 installed with the Visual Pack and I am looking to try out other libraries with it, in particular ADF Faces from Oracle.
Does anyone know how to import the components into the NetBeans Visual Pack? They download from oracle as[b] adf-faces-impl-10_1_3_0_4.jar and not as a complib extension, which NetBeans prefers.
Please if anyones has any experience with getting this to work let me know. Or if you think it can't work let me know as well?
Hoping to hear from someone soon. Thanks in advance.

    Hello again,
Anyone out there using ADF faces with NetBeans Visual Pack who can give some feedback?
I want to be able to use the drag and drop capabilities of the Visual Pack with the ADF faces components, but I don't see how to configure this as they do not come pre-configured as a complib extension.
    Any feedback would be appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards.

  • Final cut 4 with F/W cable and SB2 fitting

I have a friend who insists on using a firewire cable with a SB2 fitting with Canon GL2 camera and Apple computer. I have only used a firewire cabel with 6 & 4 pins.
    Questions:
    1 - what is a SB2 fitting?
    2 - does Final Cut Pro 4 really require a SB2 fitting?
Thanks is advance for any response.

There are adapters which convert FireWire to USB.
But what practical purpose would it serve? FireWire transfers at a constant data rate which you need for tape based cameras such as the GL2, because it plays back at a constant frame rate.
USB transfers data in packets, so the data rate will vary. Final Cut Pro will interpret that as dropped frames.

  • Lightroom 4 with Windows 8 and Nikon D3, no camera detected

I updated my windows 7 to Windows 8 and now as I try to use Tethered Capture in Lightroom with my Nikon D3 camera, there's it that No camera detected. But, no with that other computer, where I have Windows 8. Can anyone has some information what should be done?  Or, should I just instal Windows 7 again?
I am very pleased for answers that could help me. Thanks in advanced.

I'll take that bet, Butch - I've been in the Capture One club for a long time, and they do take their time with stuff like this.
Bear in mind too that you only get any tethering support if you use the $299 Capture One Pro - the stripped-down (at $99, closer to Lr's price of $149) Capture One Express has no tethering support whatsoever.
And with either Cap One product, you've got to put your hand in your pocket again for a DAM solution.
    You lose! ... as of Jul 17, 2012 ...

Keep in mind my reference to C1 was not that it was a direct competior or exact match to Lightroom ... or Aperture for that matter ... but all three apps claim to offer support for tethering ... and thus far Adobe has failed to make the effort and produce an update ...
At this point in time Apple supports tethering for 60 camera and C1 supports more than that spanning five different brands ...
I take no pleasure in gloating I was right on this wager ... rather I am quite disappointed that Adobe (as well as several of my fellow Lightroom users) feel tethering is too unimportant to maintain ... yet Apple (and Phase One) didn't feel my needs were quite so insignificant ...

  • Lightroom compatibility with Canon DSLR 70D

Canon just realised the latest DSLR - 70D which uses Dual Pixel CMOS AF Technology - it appears the currently Lightroom is unable to read the CR2 file generated by this camera.  Does anyone know how to make Lightroom read this new CR2 file?

I’m holding out for the 7D.2 late this or early next year.
The support for the 70D in LR5.2 RC is listed as preliminary so there will be a different, more correct camera color profiles when LR 5.2 is released in its final form.
The RC is available at Adobe Labs:  http://labs.adobe.com/

Looking to invest in a DSLR to use as a "B" camera for interviews and was wondering which model from Canon, Nikon or Sony would work best with our SONY EX-1. Price around $2000- $3000.
Obviously, I don't want it to match perfectly just something that has a fairly smooth and stable workflow.

Canon 7D, or Panasonic GH3.  With the Canon you can Log and Transfer the footage into FCP as ProRes, with the use of the Canon EOS Log and Transfer plugin.  But you can also use MPEG STREAMCLIP or Compressor to convert.
And you can use those with the GH3, if you shoot H.264, but it also shoots AVCHD...in which Log and Transfer should work. Or you can use ClipWrap2 to convert that footage.
