Lightroom 6 - 64 bit only

I finally found a way to get the desktop update to LR6 (from 5.7). Bought it and went to install it, but it won't install because it's only for 64 bit. Is this a mistake?

It's not a mistake. Adobe made an announcement in January.

  • Lightroom 5 64-bit stops with 0xc0000005

Lightroom 5 64-bit just stops.  Window 7.0 puts up a window that says " Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 64-bit has stopped working.  A problem caused the program to stop working windows will close the program ..."  When I looked at the Windows event log I see the following:

This has happened to me several times.  I see at the time the memory is only 43% used(apx 8G)  The Lightroom program has a working set size of 3.1 G.
I have seen it happening during Exporting, but today I had left lightroom doing nothing(sic) and when I returned, I saw the old Lightroom has stopped working.
Windows is current in all its service.
What is happening to cause Lightroom to stop?

Was this ever solved? I'm experiencing the same issue. Here is my event viewer log:

Why can I not import pictures any more?
Lightroom says "Your Lightroom 5 64-bit does not work correctly"
    Technical informations:
    PC with Windows 7 64-bit, Lightroom 5.7.1 64-bit installed.
    What I have done:
I downloaded the newest LR 5.71 and installed it again - mode repair; without success
I checked my PC with Norton 360: full scanning and optimizing registry
I restarted the PC and than I installed the LR 5.7 again - repair
    Trouble 1:
Two days ago I could work with my LR 5 and to import pictures from a SD was no problem. Now I can start LR 5 and I can watch/modify pictures, but as soon as I try to import new pictures LR 5 stops and gives the message "your LR 5 64-bit does not work correctly - searching for solution". I have not changed anything in my computer since lasttime LR 5 worked properly, only the registry was optimized by Norton 360.
    Trouble 2:
I live in Switzerland and my language ist German. I dit not find a place where I can present my problem in German, e.g. a phone number oder email-address oder german-chat. My English is to week for a discussion for computer problems and do understand it.
    Help:
I would very appreciate if anybody can help me, either to trouble 1 or to trouble 2. Thanks.

  • Is it still possible to create a 32-bit only iOS app?

With the latest AIR release (17), is there any way to still create a 32-bit only iOS app for testing on the iPad 1? It's currently not possible to install an app with 64-bit support on an iPad 1 to test the app. My understanding, however, is that Apple will do something on their end that will allow apps submitted to the App Store (with 64-bit support) to still be downloaded and installed on an iPad 1. Having a way to test on the iPad 1 before submission to Apple would be nice.
Is there a compiler switch or something that can be used for this purpose? If not, could such a switch be added easily? If we had such an option, we could continue testing on and supporting the iPad 1. Being in the education market, this is kind of critical to us.
    Thanks,
    Chris Sheffield

Because an app built with 64-bit support *cannot* be installed on an iPad 1 device for testing purposes, whether using iTunes or Xcode. It simply doesn't work. This is the message generated by Xcode:
This is when trying to install an app built with Flash Builder 4.7 and AIR sdk 17 beta.
As I stated before, my understanding is that Apple will still allow installing apps on an iPad 1 through the App Store, but *only* through the App Store. In my opinion, this is too late. We really need a way to continue testing on the iPad 1, if at all possible. That's why I'm asking if there's a possibility of adding a compiler switch of some kind that would allow building 32-bit only apps, for testing purposes only.
    Thanks.

  • I have a new (mid-2011 27" Imac with 2 Thunderbolt ports each driving one 27" Thunderbolt display. The 3 displays work perfectly in OSX Lion but in Bootcamp 4.0 with Windows 7 (64 bit) only 2 screens come up. everything is up to date. Anyonce who can help

I have a new (mid-2011 27" Imac with 2 Thunderbolt Ports each driving one 27" Thunderbolt display.
Graphic card is AMD Radeon HD 6970M  with 2Gb of VRAM.   All works 100% in Lion but
in Bootcamp 4.0 running windows 7 Professional (64 bit) Only 2 of the 3 screens work not all three.
Tried updates, calling Apple etc. But no luck.  Windows doesn't recognize the 3rd screen while
checking on the driver in windows is tells me it's the latest and best available. ?  In VMware
Windows 7 also works fine over three screens so windows can do it. But I need it natively to
work. (i.o.w. in Bootcamp). Does Anybody know how to solve this, or if Apple is working on a
solution for this ?  It really hurts to have one of these expensive screens staring at you being dead.

  • Hi! i took black and white pictures in RAW, but in Lightroom i see these only in color. what to do? thank you

hi! i took black and white pictures in RAW, but in Lightroom i see these only in color. what to do? thank you

You may want to read this I imported a mix of color and black and white raw files but lightroom changed all the black and white file to color?
The Black and white you see is just the cameras representation of the "raw" pixel information straight from the sensor. The RAW file format has yet to undergo demosaicing, and so it contains just one red, green, or blue value at each pixel location.
Lightroom, or any other RAW processor, doesn't recognize the in-camera processing because it is unique to the camera.

  • Can I upgrade from Lightroom 3/32 bit to Lightroom 5/64 bit?

I'm considering the purchase of an ASUS Republic of Gamers laptop using a Windows 7/64 bit OS with 16 gig of ram.  So far my research tells me a 32 bit program running on a 64 bit OS will be limited to, I think it was the use of no more than 4 gig of ram.  Therefore there seems no sense in using my current version of lightroom (v 3.6) since I would not be able to take advantage of the greatly increased ram.  can I upgrade from Lightroom 3.6/32 bit to Lightroom 5/64 bit?

    Yes, you can.
Installation software for Lightroom for Windows normally comes with both a 32 bit and a 64 bit installer packet. This means you can also, without upgrading install the 3.6 64 Bit version.

  • I need help finding photos just downloaded to Lightroom...they only show up in "previous downloads" and not in a folder in my pictures

I need help finding phots just downloaded to lightroom...they only show up in "prevoious downloads" and not in a folder in my pictures.  what can I do to correct this?

Also, please be aware that Lightroom is not a file browser like your operating system Finder or Explorer is. If the photos are not in the folder you expected them to be in, it is because you (accidentally) imported them into a different folder.

  • Win 7 x64 - possible to install CS4 64-bit only?

Is it possible to install only the 64-bit version of CS4 on Win7 64-bit ?
I do not really need to keep both versions (I do not use many plugins).
    Thank you

The general advice is to install both 32- and 64-bit version but there is a read-me on the installation disk which tells you how install CS4 64-bit only.
    Quote:
If you want to install ONLY the 64-bit application follow these steps:
    1. Run the Photoshop CS4 installer.
    2. Enter your serial number. Click Accept.
    3. On the right side of the Options panel under the 64-bit heading, uncheck the box for Adobe Photoshop CS4 (leave the “Adobe Photoshop CS4 (64-bit)” option checked).
    4. Finish installation.

  • Istall Lightroom 5 32 bit (CC)

Hi! I've used the try-version of Lightroom 5 (I had problems with the 64 bit version so I needed to install the 32 bit). Now the 30 day trial went out and I got a CC-membership instead but I can't find any way to install the 32 bit version; the CC only want to install the 64 bit but I just got problems (http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/error-unable-start-correctly-0xc00007b.html). I've tried the Solution 1 but it didn't work and I won't reinstall Windows. Somebody who knows how I can install the 32 bit version?

    Hi A_Esp,
    Welcome to the Community!
Please download Lightroom 5 from this link http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-direct-download-links.html and check if it has 32 bit version.
Please read/follow the Very Important Instructions section or else the download will not start.
    Thanks!

  • Lightroom 3 64-bit Issue

I just bought a new 64-bit Windows 7 laptop upgrading from a 32-bit Windows 7 laptop where I used Lightroom 3.  I just downloaded and installed Lightroom 3 on my new laptop.  It installed the 64-bit version by default.  It runs but I cannot view my photos even though the catalogs are in place.  What do I need to do to make the photos viewable?

Can you retake the screenshot so that it shows the top of the Folders Panel, like this:
Also, you didn't really answer any of my questions, so could you do that? The reason why all the thumbnails are blank is likely that you only copied the catalog (the catalogname.lrcat file) to the new laptop, but didn't copy the associated previews folder (catalogname Previews.lrdata) which resides adjacent to the catalog. You can either go back and copy them over (if you still have access to the old laptop), or you can have Lightroom rebuild them from scratch....but it can't do that until we reconnect it with the photos.
So where are the photo files now?

  • Strange problem in PS CS4 32-bit only

I'm having a rather odd problem and haven't been able to find any discussions of something similar. I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate 64 SP1. I have both the 32- and 64-bit versions of PS CS4 installed with the latest updates.
64-bit PS works like a champ. I love it. Were it not for a variety of plug-ins I use which are not yet 64-bit enabled, I would never use the 32-bit version of PS. However...
When running 32-bit PS, the program acts as though I have some key or mouse button either pressed or like I'm repeatedly pressing a key. Sort of. It doesn't try to do something on its own - that is, if I open a file and sit here doing nothing, PS won't do anything on its own. I will, though, see the cursor flashing oddly.
If I attempt to do anything, I end up fighting with the "phantom" keys. Sometimes, I need to press a key several times before it reacts. Often, I'll get warning sounds like you hear when you press a wrong key for a particular state. Certain actions won't hold sufficiently long to let me do something. I just ran into a stubborn problem like this. If I click the crop tool, I cannot type into the width, height, or resolution boxes on the tool bar. I can click there, see a vertical cursor appear for an instant, then it's gone.
This is driving me nuts. I wish my plug-in vendors would get their acts together and add 64-bit compatibility, but so far only Imaginomic has done so with Noiseware (and I'm grateful to them!).
Other info: I'm running with a bluetooth mouse and keyboard as well as an Intuous 3 tablet. I have an nVidea GeForce 8600 GT video card. I've tried disabling OpenGL in PS without help. Note again, 64-bit PS works brilliantly with all these. I'm running plug-ins from OnOne (Plugin Suite 4) and Nik (Viveza) as well as Noiseware mentioned above. I tried logging in with my wife's ID to see if any of my settings might be to blame, but it behaves the same with her ID. I'm not sure if this problem showed up with the PS update or if it was there from the start. I'm thinking it did not show this problem when I first upgraded to CS4. I was using CS2 previously, and it's still installed on this computer. It does not exhibit this problem.
    Any ideas or suggestions?
    Tony

Mylenium - thanks. I also was suspicious of the tablet, but the tablet is not in use when this problem shows up. Nevertheless, I uninstalled the Wacom driver, removed the tablet connection, rebooted, and the problem persists. But, I did get a chance to install a new version of the driver (April 2009).
Like I said - strange problem. Since it doesn't crash PS, there's not much data. No error message, no stack trace.
One other tidbit. I still have the crop tool selected. If I load an image and place the cursor over the image window, the cursor changes between the crop cursor and the big white arrow. Back and forth. When it's doing this, if you want to use the selected tool, you have to click right when the tool's cursor is showing, otherwise you get the "bing" noise.
