Lightroom 6 and windows 32 bit

Hi,
I just wanted to start with the next level of photo shooting/editing.
Thus I purchsed Lightroom 6 and when I installed it, a error message came up ...
it needs obviously a 64bit computer.
What can I do now?!?!
I the only chance to buy a new desktop?!?!
Thx,

I also bought the download LR version 6 as an update of LR version 5.7 and tried to install it with the same error message of a 64bit windows version.
But this is not mentioned in the "Systemanforderung". They write following for:
Windows
   - Intel®- oder AMD-Prozessor mit 64-Bit-Unterstützung*
     - Windows 7 mit Service Pack 1, Windows 8 oder Windows 8.1
* Doppelkern-Prozessor für HD- oder AVCHD-Funktionen empfohlen
The same is mentioned for LR version 5
There isn`t given any directive to use a 64bit Win 7 version, only the recommendation for the processor *...
Does it really mean for LR6 is a 64bit WIN version necesary?
If yes, what can I do to reject version LR6 and get my money back?
Thx

  • Lightroom and Windows 7

Is anyone running Windows 7 Beta + Lightroom and CS4?.
I normally run Vista Ultimate plus CS4 and Lightroom 2.2.
Having just loaded Lightroom onto Windows 7 all works ok apart from when I use the crop tool, when using the crop tool the image rotates 90deg. anyone else experiencing this problem.
Obviously not a major problem as I can just boot to Vista.

    It is a known problem.
Here is a thread discussing the issue:
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b7ac15
If you have both the top menu (Library, Develop, etc) and the bottom thumbnails displayed at the same time, the crop tool acts funny. Close the thumbnails and it should work.

  • Photoshop Lightroom and windows XP

    Dear all,
I have just bought Photoshop lightroom and installed it successfully on my main computer, which runs on windows vista. I wanted to have also an installation on my laptop computer, which runs under winXP. The program told me i had to have Vista or later as operating system to run LightRoom 4.3.
With the license i bought, is it possible to have an earlier version of lightroom installed on window XP to solve this problem ?
    Best Regards,
    Pierre Barthelemy

No you are only licensed to use Photoshop Lightroom 4.  If you wish to obtain a license for Lightroom 3 you will need to find a reseller still offering the older version of the software.

  • Lightroom and Windows 8

Since I started using Windows 8, LIghtroom will only print 8x11.5 size paper, even when set for4x6 photo.  What to do?

If the upgrade runs as Microsoft promises: No. Normally all your installed programs run under Windows 8  as usual after upgrading... It worked with me till I got a blue screen after an automatic update installation. Then I had to reinstall Windows 8 and all of my programs. My advice remains: don't upgrade if there is not an absolute urge to do so (I normally can't think of any..). Just for the 'pretty' new UI or for just having always the newest, you can save yourself a lot of trouble sticking to Windows 7....

  • Lightroom and Windows mouse focus issues.

In one aspect Lightroom have been always behaving different from other Windows application: Its speed of grabbing mouse focus and moving window to the foreground is exaggerated. This problem will be observed only by people using their WinXP computers in "X11 mode", like with Unix, what allows to perform interaction with processes associated with windows without ever clicking on, or raising such window. Should you be working on large computer clusters as I do, this focusing feature its a blessing.
This how you can reproduce: Use Tweak UI to adjust the mouse behavior. Select "Mouse," step down to "X=Mouse" and check "Activation follows mouse." Do not select "autoraise."
Now your WinXP will behave similar to the real X11 xterm with mouse having the "no raise selection" policy. Its not quite identical to xterm, but it really works perfectly in most cases.
Except... well, except with Lightroom. Lightroom grabs the pointer and pushes the window to the foreground in splits of a second. For example, go to
"Help|About Adobe Lightroom" to see the credit window. It appears than as usual, but since the help menu will be dismisses, the pointer stands on the main Lightroom window, what makes the credits window vanish in split of a second. No chance to see it!
Another case: Assume that Lightroom uses almost the entire desktop down to the task bar, and your browser window is smaller. Select the browser on the taskbar and try to move mouse to it. No chance! Lightroom will take over and pop itself to the foreground again. The only solution is to minimize Lightroom. And than sometimes something happens that Lightroom will not restore itself anymore! The "Restore" operation is grayed out, one can only Maximize it. We have reported this numerous times before.
I am aware that this problem relates only to WinXP users with X11 mouse mode, but with Lightroom reaching now a high degree of maturity, maybe we could take a look at this problem as well?

In order to overcome most of the known navigation and/or focus issues you need to be using the following:
<li>Forms 10.1.2.3 or newer (latest is 11.1.2). If/when you are using 10.1.2.3 you would also need to install patch ID 9593176 as this contains additional fixes for focus issues.
<li>JRE 1.6.0_26 or newer (latest is 1.6.0_30). The latest is always recommended as it contains the most up to date fixes for both technical issues and security issues.

  • Lightroom 4 and Windows XP

I'm VERYdisappointed that Lightroom 4 is incompatible with Windows XP.  I've been using Lightroom since version 2 and am quite fond of it.  If enough people complain, will Adobe respond with a solution other than "upgrade to Windows 7" or "buy a MAC" or just plain ole "sorry"?
    Message was edited by: isom1920

Windows XP will not be supported.  It's 11 years old and Windows 8 is just around the corner.  They also dropped support for many Mac OSs and also for any 32 bit Macs.

  • 16 bit printing in Lightroom for Windows

According to a Lightroom 2 video from NAPP about printing, Scott Kelby states that 16 bit output is only available if you have OSX Leopard because it is an operating system specific feature, and Windows does not support 16 bit printing. However, Canon supplies a Photoshop plugin with the iPF5100 printer that supports 16 bit output regardless of the operating system in use. So I'm just curious why Lightroom doesn't support 16 bit output for Windows, but Photoshop does?  Or am I missing something?
I've also asked the question at answers.microsoft.com if Windows 7 is going to support 16 bit printing, and a Microsoft MVP said "If a 16-bit print driver is created for the printer, 7 will not stop it from doing that. How an image is converted to print is not an OS limitation. The print driver does that."  So who am I to believe?  I would imagine that if Windows was capable of 16 bit print output then Adobe would support it on the Windows platform right?  So if anyone from Adobe can answer this question, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Regards,
    Dean

When it comes to printing, LR talks to the OS, and the OS talks to the printer driver. Therefore, if LR supports 16-bit printing, the driver supports 16-bit printing, but the OS only supports 8-bit printing, then there's no benefit. The Canon PS plug-in is different because the OS is not involved; the plug-in is effectively talking directly to the printer driver.
That said, I do not know for certain which versions of Windows support 16-bit print paths, not having investigated the matter myself.
(I also humbly suggest that it's not as big of a deal as you might think. One the list of technical matters that factor into print quality, I'd have to rank 8-bit vs 16-bit printing as being pretty far towards the bottom.)

  • Windows 7 crashes when using Lightroom and Photoshop

I am trying to determine the cause of random crashes (bsod) when I run Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS5 (either individually or both at the same time) on my Windows 7 64-bit PC.  I'm begining to think the crashes might be related to interactions between LR4, CS5, and Windows 7 Services.  Does anyone know of a list of Windows 7 64-bit Services that are used by LR4 and CS5?

Applications can't cause BSOD's. Crash, yes, but not BSOD. The real cause is usually faulty or incompatible hardware (most likely RAM), or buggy drivers (most likely video card).
Photoshop puts a lot of stress on your computer, so any latent problems are likely to turn up. Lightroom I believe less so; but still it can push the wrong buttons.
I'd start by downloading an updated video driver, and next test RAM by removing or replacing one stick at a time.

  • Can I run the Photoshop CC and Lightroom with Windows XP professional as the operating system?

Can I run the Photoshop CC and Lightroom with Windows XP professional as the operating system?

The tech specs for Phtoshop CC and Lightroom indicate Windows 7 with SP 1 is required as a minimum, so XP would not be sufficient to run them.   Here's the Photoshop specs:
    Windows
    Intel® Pentium® 4 or AMD Athlon® 64 processor (2GHz or faster)
Windows 7 with Service Pack 1, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1*
    1GB of RAM
2.5GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on removable flash storage devices)
    1024x768 display (1280x800 recommended) with OpenGL® 2.0, 16-bit color, and 512MB of VRAM (1GB recommended)†
Internet connection and registration are necessary for required software activation, membership validation, and access to online services.‡

  • Dual boot WIndows 8.1 and Windows 7 (32 bits) from separated disks gives error 0XC0000359

    Hi all,
I have two disks, each with a (OEM) installed OS on it, a Windows 8.1 (64 bits) and Windows 7.0 (32 bits). The later came from mine old computer that unfortunately died to soon. So I have two disks and two OS in an brand new machine (with UEFI BIOS etc.).
Installing a dual boot option was a pace of cake. However booting into Windows 7.0 gives following error:
"Windows failed to start. A recent hardware of software change might be the cause.
      File:\Windows\system32\winload.exe.
      Status: 0XC0000359
Info: the application or operating system could't be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors".
There is lot discussions about installing two OS but that is not mine problem: both are already installed.
Also there is much rumour about the UEFI BIOS and support for older systems. In mine medion computer the Security Boot option is disabled (by the OEM), so booting from a old BIOS should be possible, must isn't.
Someone advised me to run the recovery disk (of Windows 7.0) and run Bootmgr. However the system refuses to boot from CD/DVD with the recovery disk of Windows 7.0 inserted, booting from the recovery disk of Windows 8.1. goes fine.
Removing the disk with Windows 8.1 installed on it  and directly booting in Windows 7.0 fails too with the message: "Reboot and Select proper boot device or: Insert boot media in selected boot device and press key". Also in this case the system
refuses to boot from the Windows 7.0 recovery disk.
    Could you please help me?

    Hi,
To rebuilt boot loader, I suggest we can try following command when you enter Windows 8.1.
Run cmd as administrator and type following command:
BCDboot [Partition Letter with windows 7 installed]:\windows
Note: if you installed Windows 7 on Partition F, the command can be write as: BCDboot F:\windows.
Then, restart and boot into Windows 7.
    What’s going on?

  • Oracle client 32/64 bit on Crystal Server 2013 and Windows Server 2012

I'm getting the error "Unknown Database Connector Error" when I run report on the server and it works OK on crystal designer 2013.
Been reading this thread 32&64 bit Oracle Client but not much help there.
    Here are the  details
    System
    Windows Server 2012
    Crystal Server 2013 SP5
Crystal Server has been installed and appears to work fine. I was able to develop a brand new report locally and saved it to the server and it displays ok. Of course when I click on refresh on the report, it will error out due to database connection it looks like.
We have installed both oracle client drivers 64 and 32. 64 was installed first and then 32.The path has been modified so that the 32 shows up first.
I even ensure oracle_home and oracle_home32 are specified and restarted the server. I still get the same error.
The tns entries are also located in both installs of oracle client...
    What might be the issue?

Oracle Database Client 12.1.0.2.0 (32-bit and 64-bit installed)
    Installation Type: Custom
    COMPONENTS INSTALLED:
    SQLPLUS
    ORACLE NET
We are currently not using an ODBC connection.
We installed Crystal 2013 Server SP05. This is the sole package installed (believe it's the latest version) without any extra patch package installed (believe no patch needed as it's the latest version).

  • How do I fix the Database Organizer Error when using Acrobat 9 Pro on desktop PC with Windows 8.1 and 64-bit OS?

After loading Acrobat 9 Pro on my desktop PC (Windows 8.1; 64-bit OS), opening and closing a previously saved pdf file, I constantly get a message pop-up that indicates a "database organizer" error.
    How do I fix this?
I have read multiple responses at various forums and they do not seem to apply, or have not worked for others, with regard to the details of my version of Acrobat and Windows OS.
I'm beginning to think that the only solution is to purchase the latest version of Acrobat Pro and install it on my PC, which, of course, I would prefer not to do, unless this is my only viable option.
Can this problem, specific to my version of Acrobat and Windows OS, be fixed or is the simple answer:  purchase the latest version of Acrobat Pro, because there is no fix for my version of Acrobat/Windows OS?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • ITunes and Windows 7 64 bit doesn't work together?

Running Windows 7 64 bit, iTunes is reporting it is latest and greatest, as is iPod touch. When I tried to move some songs I purchased today to my iPod via iTunes, my system crashed. Tried a few times and it kept crashing. It would transfer 1 maybe 2 songs then crash. I've not installed anything new, nor have I had this problem in the past and the crashes only occur when transferring music. Anyway, after the last crash I was checking my version on iPod touch and noticed it says I have only 2 gig left on space. Yet when I go to my Music I only have 3 songs. In addition, when I plug my ipod into my computer, iTunes sees all my old music from the iPod (listed under devices) AND it will play those songs. From my iPod those songs do not seem to exist but are still taking up space. I am in the process of restoring my iPod but I am curious if anybody has had the same issue, if so what was your resolution... as well as any suggestions. After restoring my iPod I had more issues. I installed iTunes to my XP machine, authorized it and hooked up my iPod and everything is syncing fine now. Seems to be just a problem with my Windows 7 machine. Any word as to when this is going to be fixed? My XP machine is not my preferred machine to keep my music on as it is my work PC.

I'm having a similar problem - my computer tells me that "one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it". I'm also using Windows 7 64bit.
