Lightroom 6 Export Fail - Workaround Found

Hello,
I have had LR6 failing to export certain files over and over again even though the RAW files were not corrupted.
This happened all the time with Adobe Bridge. I found that it only fails the export with Adobe Bridge opened to the same folder that the files are exported to.
As a workaround, I tried clicking on another folder in Bridge. It worked, the files are exporting as usual.
Hope this helps someone. It was driving me crazy for a while.
Wes

Hi,
This problem only happens in LR6. I had the issue for days.
I happen to have Adobe Bridge opened to the same folder that LR6 was exporting to. When I clicked on a different folder, the problem disappeared. It seems to be some sort of a file lock issue.

  • Blocking bug with 10.8.3+Adobe Lightroom+Canon iPF5000 (but workaround found)

    Hi all,
since I have updated my MacBook Pro (early 2011 model) with 10.8.3, I have a blocking bug with Adobe Lightroom (either 4.3 or 4.4) for launching prints on my Canon iPF5000 (firmware 1.33, either MacOS driver 2.67 or 3.06, connection through USB).
When I was under 10.8.2 with the Canon's driver 3.06, everything works fine.
Basically, after clicking Print a Copy or Print... in Lightroom, the file spooled to the driver stays in MacOS printer queue. Within the printer queue window, the printer is in pause mode, and each time I try to resume the printing processing, the driver put it on hold immediately. When I look into the history on the Console, the driver complains about an unknown error... The data stay within the driver, as my Canon iPF5000 "Data" led indicator stays unlit.
My print settings are 600dpi or 300dpi, print sharpening Standard/Glossy, 16 bit output. And Color managed by printer (because I let the Canon driver managing my B&W prints).
Strangely enough, when I launch a print from Preview application, the drivers does its job and sends it successfully to my Canon iPF5000...
As this was driving me crazy, I have tried a clean install of MacOS 10.8.3 (as 10.8.2 is no more available from Apple servers...). No success, same blocking issue.
Eventually, I've found the workaround: using the imagePROGRAF Advanced Preview. You have to click on "Print..." in Lightroom in order to see the driver settings window, and then check the "Preview before printing" option in the main tab of the driver settings. Then I can preview my Lightroom printing work and then launch successfully my printing.
Simple workaround, but very strange bug...
For me, the root cause could be multiple and not very obvious.
Is it Mac OS 10.8.3 ? But why can I make prints from Preview application for instance, and not from LR ?
Is it the Canon driver ? But this lead me to the same question.
Is it Lightroom ? Does it send corrupted data that make the driver crazy but not the imagePROGRAF Advanced Preview ?
So, if any user of Canon iPF5000 + Mac OS 10.8 + Lightroom is around, please share your experience.
And if any Apple, Adobe or Canon engineer read this, please try to fix this.
    Happy printing,
    Amaury

It's different how applications write print data. If you use Advanced Preview from the driver then it calculates already the output which afterwards is only sent to the printer.
Have you once tried to print with fast graphic process switched off (option of advanced settings)?
    Hope it helps

  • Sync for Notes & Snow Leopard fails - workaround found!

Sync for Notes for Snow Leopard 10.6.8 fails with iOS 5.  Any changes in an existing note on either the computer in the Mail notes or the iPhone Notes app and then a sync results in the old note version being on both computer and iPhone.  All changes are lost.
If I create a new note on the iPhone and sync, it does transfer over.  If I then change this on the computer and sync, then the change goes over to the iPhone.  If I then change this new note on the iPhone and sync, then the change does indeed go back to the computer.
So I guess the workaround solution is to copy and paste all the old notes into new notes and sync.  This works either on the iPhone or the computer.

    Thanks for this tip!
I´ve been looking for a solution to this issue for some time now.
It seems that mountain Lion comes with all new technology to sync todo's and notes.

  • Export Fail - Lightroom 5

    Hello:
I recently downloaded Lightroom 5 on my new work laptop and had no issues exporting while at work.  Brought the laptop home and connected it to my external hard drive,  worked on some images and as I try to export, I'm getting this message as I'm trying to export and there's a "Failed to Export" folder in my Library Catalog. Can anyone help?

  • Lightroom 5 - reimport fails after exporting to Photomatrix

    Hi,
I'm a user of Lightroom 5 and Photomatrix.
In Lightroom 4, when I select "automatic re-import" into Lightroom libary it functions perfectly.
However after upgrading to Lightroom 5 this function has seized to work. An error message "Export Error: Error Saving File"
And when I tries to a perform a manual save from Photomatrix, the original folder seems to be locked/read-only.
For Example,  the image is located at .. /photo2014/DSC1001.jpg, after editing in photomatrix and reimporting, the folder ../photo2014 is locked, i can't save into that folder from Photomatrix.
However I was able to save into a different folder and then later use Explorer to move the image file backinto ../photo2014. ie, it seems like when Lightroom to export to Photomatrix - using plug-in. Photomatrix places a restriction on Photomatrix - but not any other programs - to reimport / save back into the original folder.
    Please help!!

    Hi ssprengel,
Thanks for the suggestion. Sorry it took so long to get back to this, I had other fires crop up after I posed this query. Unfortunately, no joy. I have like 14GB available on the C: drive I tried dearcing it on another drive, even on several other PC's and then tried to install it from a flash drive and it still fails with the exact same error. I have re-downloaded it like a dozen time on multiple computers and no joy. The only thing I haven't tried is installing it on a different computer, but that's because I don't have another machine available that will run it.
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks

  • QuickTime Export Failed 11

I've got a 106 MB Sorenson Video 3, 640 x 480, Million, 30 FPS clip that plays fine, but cannot be re-exported with any codec using QT Pro 7.0.3 or 7.0.4 on MacOS X 10.4.2, 10.4.3, or 10.4.6. (Incidentally, this clip was created by our MacPyMOL product using the Carbon QuickTime API...for what it's worth).
QuickTime always returns the error "Failed <11>" about a minute after starting the export process...
Temporary workaround found: Re-export the original clip as a lossless sequence of PNG images (thankfully that works!), then open the sequence of frames recompress under the new codec.
Does anyone know what is going on?
PowerMac G5 Dual and Quad tested   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   QuickTime 7.0.3, 7.0.4

I have a very similar 210MB Sorenson Video 3, 640x480 @ 30fps. Plays fine but can't export using any codec, error is "Failed [11]". However, I can "share" the clip to email, and then drag the attachment into a finder window before sending. Unfortunately, none of the sharing presets are at the quality level I need. I successfully exported a few seconds of the clip using copy and paste into a new quicktime window. Copying the whole clip into a new window and exporting doesn't work.
I don't know what would be different between 'share' and 'export', but since share exports successfully, while export doesn't, the source video's codec and other details can be ruled out, right? This issue seems like a Plain Ol' Bug to me...

  • Export failed in Folio Producer

I'm having repeated export failure in Folio PRoducer on a folio that I've already exported 4 times with no problems. I can't figure out what is different since there was a minor fix, then I updated, and now it won't export. the message is just "An error has occured while exporting the folio."
any ideas for what I might do to get past this??

    Hi Michelle,
I've exported this folio and built an iPad single viewer app just yesterday.
The folio is changhed, but we made only some minor changes like text correction.
There is no problem to view this new folio on the Adobe viewer
The download of the zip file doesn't start, but the error message is generic.

Adobe engineering has looked into this and found that the server queues appear to be functioning properly at this point.  I’ve also tried export from test accounts and seen it succeed.  Thus we are not encountering the same problem as we were a few days ago.
Can you provide specifics of the error or failure you are receiving?
Have you successfully exported this folio previously?  Have you made changes since?
Are you able to preview the folio without warning messages?
    Thanks,
    Michelle

  • PDF Export fails because of "bad" TIF files

I'm having this problem with InDesign CS3 on MacBook Pro, OS 10.5
PDF export fails occasionally, becasue of some "bad" TIF files. The weird part is that those files are completely good TIF files, which are perfectly readable by any other program! After I resave the supposedly bad file again, it helps, and the PDF export works fine. BUT - imagine me working with a project with 800 images?!! Thanks to some good scripting and forum people, I have found a way to locate the bad images quite fast by using a script that exports each page as a separate PDF, then at least I know at which page it fails. But it's a hassle to do that every time!
Last time I found about 60 "bad" files out of 862.
Why the heck InDesign treats some TIF files as bad? Even if it does, it could at least create a log file, that will tell me at which page the export failed! this could be a real help!
I've asked this question in Photoshop forums, but one of the employees replied that Photoshop doesn't produce bad files. Well, I'm not sure I can belevie that, but that's what they say.

What settings do you use when you save as TIFF ?
On PC platform sometimes InDesign treat TIFFs as "bad" when they are exported with "for Mac" settings.
Or maybe you should switch do PSD format ?

  • Export fails

    Hi
Im trying to export my project as .mdl file. However, after 87% of the project is exported it suddenly says 100% completed. The show statistics button remains disabled. When i try to import the file it throws an error.
I checked to see the contents of MDL file using winzip,(i have changed the extension to .zip), but the file doesnt open. I looked into the log but the log is empty. With this i assumed that the EXPORT might have failed.
I read the Help files and found that only 1 user should be logged in at the time of EXPORT. I did follow that but found no change.
Please let me know what could be the issue!

    Hi
I suspect the Metadata export is failing purely of Memory related issue.
When im exporting, suddenly the export process slows down, i have seen in taskbar that memory consumption has increased. after some point of time, a message box appears. It reads.
"Virtual Memory Minimum Too Low : Your system is low on virtual memory. Windows is increasing the size of your virtual memory paging file. During this process, memory requests for some applications may be denied. For more information, see Help."
Once this message pops up, the OWB export progress bar suddenly ssays 100% comlpeted. With this i assume that while the page file size is being increased the memory is deallocated from the OWB processes. Due to this the Export fails without errors.
If my above assumption is true then I may have to increase the my Memory. But now the question is What could be the size that i have to increase and that would ensure that this problem doesnt arise in future?
Also, I would like to know why OWB is not throwing any memory related Error?

  • I use Adobe lightroom to export images to Facebook - I am now getting error message related to this process address not understood- how to correct?

I am using Win & Home edition / Mozilla Firefox on my HP laptop. On Oct 8 I used Lightroom to export images to Facebook. Now when I try to repeat this, authentication fails as The address wasn't understood
Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (lightroom) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.
The export process was working, but isn't now. I have ben having problems with Firefox - I wasn't able to retain the settings for opening with my own Homepage (kept going back to Firefox default. So I have done a reset. Seems that this has somehow disrupted the authentication process. Can you help please.

I just dropped into the forums to see if other people were getting the DVD burning verification error (Error code 0x80020063). I've been holding off on the Tiger to Leopard upgrade until very recently. All of my must-have apps were anecdotally stable and I was under the impression that 10.5 was too. Apparently reliable DVD burning is Tiger only, at least on my systems.
We've been burning Taiyo Yuden DVD's almost daily with Tiger with incredibly low failure rates. After what seemed to be a smooth upgrade of a Mac Pro tower & 2 MacBook Pro laptops (one is a Core Duo and the other is a Core 2 Duo) I've spent the entire afternoon troubleshooting until I ended up here. Some searching on the board leads me to conclude that this will be a bigger headache than I imagined.
I've done all the obvious stuff (varied the burn speed, moved the files to a different drive, reset PRAM & SMC, used a different account, deleted finder.plist, tried repairing the system with DU on the Leopard install disc and then I tried burning on different computers with different media). What I'm finding is that over 50% of my DVD's are throwing the error code during verification across 3 different models all running Leopard 10.5.2. CD burning seems to work as before (but we don't use this as much so ?). I saw that some people had posted that closing the finder window helped, but that didn't improve my overall failure rate. The DVD's appear (indentical byte size and item numbers) to be burned correctly and usable, but I need to be sure so I can't trust them.
We need reliable DVD burning for our business and this is a real problem. I was going to trudge over to the Apple store, but it doesn't sound like there's a real fix yet.

  • Export fails with auto generated name containing ' || etc...

    Hi,
If I try to export to "TEXT" from a query that has a autogenerated name containing the following:
    select 'select count(*),'||COLUMN_NAME||' from ' || table_name || ' group by ' ||COLUMN_NAME||';'
The export fails with an ORA-00904.
The obvious workaround is to name the select parameter as in
    select 'select count(*),'||COLUMN_NAME||' from ' || table_name || ' group by ' ||COLUMN_NAME||';' text
But I thought I should mention it.
    Thanks,
    Orjan

I'll pass this on for someone to look at.

  • MPEG2 Export failed

    Hi all,
i´m running in problems generating MPEG2 (m2v) with compressor.
That´s what i´m usually doing (worked 100 times before, last time 28.03.2008):
I´m rendering out a video MJPEG A PAL from AfterEffects.
Then I´m using a Compressor Droplet to generate a approval Version for my clients (QT Sor3 halfres) and a MPEG2 file as final delivery.
But now the MPEG2 Export fails. Find the error report at the end of this thread.
I tried it with the last files when it worked, also failed.
I tried another MPEG2 Preset (the apple ones) -> failed.
Playing MPEG2 Files using QT-Player and VLC works fine.
    Any help highly appreciated.
    Thanks

The source frame rate is 23.976, so I guess I would go with 24p. My intention is to upload the file to a streaming video website. They have their specs laid out for me, I just happen to be new to all of this so I am having a tough time meeting them.
My question right now is, if i have selected the MXF OP1a XDCAM option with XDCAM 50 NTSC (4:2:2) video codec, will the export be in mpeg2 and what will my bit rate be? I have no way of viewing the bit rate with this configuration.
Here is a screen grab of their required specs:

I would like to use slideshow in lightroom to export my video as a full screen 1920x1080 video with text overlays.  I am using text overlay in lightroom as it reads from the metadata that is easy for me to input in the library screen.  When i export from lightroom slideshow and choose the 1920x1080 resolution the end product is a very small video in the middle of a black background.  i have double checked and do not have any borders turned on.  Another option would be to export from the library but lr mogrify does not seem to put text overlays on video either.  Any input would be welcome.

I dont understand anything you said in your post.
Do you have a specific question about video production?
The forums are for individual technical or creative issues that users have with video production. I am sur someone will be able to help you, but and to get a response it is best to ask a specific question.
Is this about a technical problem you have or something about setting up a web site? If its the latter this is the wrong forum.

  • Error while rendering: Export file not found - what to do?

    Hi,
I have been editing my video in four different premiere pro projects (as I got adviced to do from these forums because it's AVCHD clips). I have rendered these four projects and burned to four DVD's (total playtime is around 1.5hours) - which is working fine.
But then I try to import all four projects into one big master project because I want to make a blu-ray iso. The import goes fine (I import like this: File > Import > Choose project > Import entire project)
I export to encore, make the menus etc. and click "build" to start rendering. The problem is that after some time I get this error:
Blu-ray Object: "sequence-name-here/project-name-here.prproj", Export file not found
I have seen this error before while rendering some of the four individual projects - but when I saw them I simply just tried again by exporting to encore from the projects again. This seemed to work - but with the big master project I have tried several times with no luck.
Can anyone help me fix this issue? :)

    Yes, I got this too:
For posterity, here is what I have found that completely fixes this error, repeatedly:  Clear Encore's cache.  Specifically:
Close your Encore project and exit Encore
Go to the cache subdirectory named for your project (ie. if your save file is c:\projects\mymovie.ncor then go to c:\projects\mymovie\cache)
    Delete the file "mlf.cache.v10"
If your Encore project contains any Premiere Pro dynamically-linked assets, start Premiere Pro and load at least one of the projects used in Encore.  (I have found that this reduces memory usage -- for some reason, Premiere Pro takes up less memory than if Encore spawns the PProHeadless.exe media server to serve the same function)
Restart Encore and load your project
...and wait, patiently, for Encore to re-scan all of your assets and build up the cache again and don't touch it until it's finished.  I use Process Explorer (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653) to watch my disk activity and CPU to know when Encore is finished (just hover on the cyan-colored graph and you can see what program is performing the most disk activity).  Once it's all finished, I save, then immediately try to build my project again.  For proof of concept, my 40GB BD-50 project just built last night after getting this error yesterday afternoon.
If any of your assets are not transcoded before you begin this process, transcode them all, then start this process over again from step one.  Clearing the cache does not clear the transcodes.
I hope this helps someone.  I was not looking forward to completely re-authoring my project, which I've been working on (on and off) for a few months.
