Lightroom 6 healing brush

It seems like Adobe updated the healing brush in Lightroom 6 and now it seems to be adding noise to the areas it heals. Please fix this or revert it back to the previous version because it's very annoying.

Turn it off hit O on your keyboard.

  • Does photoshop have a healing brush tool like lightroom v5 ?

    Hi
i have photoshop cs6 , and i was watching a video about the new lightroom features
it was amazing how in this video lightroom v5 brush tool work
does cs6 have such feature ? or is included in cc only?
at minute 9:06 there is an amazing review about this tool
    thanks

You really should think about a CC subscription Hudders.  There is something very liberating about using Camera RAW as a filter in an opened image document, and you can do it on a Smart Object.   The new features in each new version of PS have a habit of creeping up on you.  You start out thinking , ‘yes this is nice, but is it really so very much better?’, and before you know it, you become utterly panic stricken at the very thought of not having those new features.
The new spot removal tool in ACR 8.# is like a Patch tool that automatically choses the best possible source pixels to fix a blemish, and I love it.

  • Healing Brush in Lightroom 5 not active over entire photo

The healing brush is only active over certain parts of the photo.  Therefore, I am not available to use the healing brush on all parts of the photo.  What gives?  Thanks for your help

  • Copy and Paste clone and healing brush?

Is it possible to copy clone stamp tool and healing brush effects from one image to another?
I.e. I edit an image in Lightroom, then work on it in Photoshop CS often using clone and healing brush tool. However, if I then change the original in Lightroom, as I often seem to do, I have to re-do all my work in Photoshop. Is there a way I can copy my Photoshop work from the old to the new image?

I'm not familiar with CS2 and don't even know whether it has an Options Bar. However, look for Window > Options to see if there is one that just needs enabled.
Here's what it looks like for Clone Stamp Tool in CS6.

  • Problems using the Spot Healing Brush

I've tried to use the spot healing brush on a number of photos but it doesn't work at all - I've watched the video tutorial, but wehen I try and use it nothing happens - it appears to be the only part of Lightroom 5 that doesn't work.
How can I solve this problem?

    Keith,
This is what happens when I try and use the Spot Healing Brush:
I can select spots to heal/delete/duplicate - both single and multiple
After selection and hitting "done" nothing happens.
Consequently the spots I jhave tried to heral appear on the exported picture.
I would expect the Spot Healing Brush in Lightroom 5 to acxt the same as in Adobe Photshop Elements 10 - ie. you see the spot disapear, but for some reason it is not.
Hence the question, as I am wondering whether I'm doing something wrong-I've wateched the tutorial and it doesn't give me any clues as to whether I am doing anything wrong to erase/remove the spots.

  • Where is the spot healing brush?

    Hello Everyone,
I've been a Lightroom user for a couple of years now but very new to photoshop.  Still figuring out all the cool stuff this program has to offer.  I want to use the spot healing brush to touch up a few images but I'm not able to locate it in Photoshop CS5.  I've looked in what I thought were the most logical places, looked thorugh the documentation and did some searching online but I haven't yet found the icon/function I'm looking for.   I do see the healing brush and I have been able to use the content-aware fill function successfully
The format of the working image (raw, jpeg) seems to make no difference.  I read online that the spot healing brush only works with jpeg images.  Is this true?  I was able to use content aware fill on a raw image.
Here's a screenshot showing all the tools and the various tool presets.  I'm running CS5 version 12.0.4 x64 on Windows 7.  Would appreciate it if someone can let me know what I'm missing here?
    Thanks,
    Dini

The spot healing brush is located in the same tool slot as the healing brush, just
click and hold on the healing brush icon in the tool box to see the hidden tools.
As far as i know the spot healing brush works on most other images besides jpegs, so
no it's not true that the spot healing brush only works on jpegs.

  • Healing brush in 3.5RC changed?

Has anyone else noticed that the healing brush in 3.5RC now leaves a visible "circle" behind?
It's not always noticeable ... but it's a LOT more noticeable than I ever remember any previous version of Lightroom. I've tried this on 3 different photo shoots since 3.5RC was released and I keep ending up having to avoid using the healing brush because of the visible circle it leaves behind.
I used to do most of my healing type work in LR because it was a lot faster than in Photoshop.  But now I'm afraid to use it.
I'll drop back to LR 3.4.1 for now.  But please get this information back to the developers.

I experience this circle, too (sometimes).
Yes, it's less obvious with the Healing tool.
But what is missing and what I've asked for as a feature request long ago, is a feathering option for the clone / heal tool.
The missing feathering is the reason why these circles appear.

  • Delays with Wacom Intuos pen and spot healing brush

This problem has been discussed a lot both on Adobe forums and elsewhere, in conjunction with previous versions of LR. This thread is typical: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5272942. The gist of the problem is that the Wacom pen tool (not limited to Intuos tablets, by the way) is almost unusable with the spot healing brush -- LR freezes for many seconds when you try to reposition the selected replacement patch. It eventually catches up, but the delay makes this feature extremely hard to use. There seem to be no similar delays doing the same function with a mouse or touch interface.
Wacom is aware of reports of problems, and went so far as to include a "use Windows ink" checkbox on their latest Intuos driver, with the suggestion that you uncheck it to avoid these delays. I've done that, installed the latest Wacom and graphics drivers, and tried every tip anybody has suggested, to no avail.
Of course, I don't know whether this is a Wacom problem or a Lightroom problem, but it's certainly a problem to use them together. I had hoped that LR 5.2 RC would have fixed it, due to some references in the announcement of fixes related to the spot healing brush, but it's still there, no change at all.
    Anybody have any ideas?
    Windows 8 64-bit
    Latest drivers for all devices

Well, here it is January 2014 and the problem is still around. I too, have tried everything I could find with no solution to the problem. Seems that Wacom is blaming Microsoft, which is probably where the blame belongs, but it seems that somewhere in Adobe, Wacom, and Microsoft someone could find a solution to this nagging problem. I took the statements by the Adobe people that once you tried a tablet you would neveragain be satisfied with a mouse as truth, but for now, I regret wasting my money on a tablet.

  • Healing Brush .... why?

Something I've wondered about for forever.....
When I'm using the Healing Brush to get rid of acne and the entire area around the brush is free of acne except one spot next to it - WHY does the healing brush always seem to choose THAT spot as the one to copy from?
I'm serious, I can have clean skin all around a big zit except one spot and the healing brush always clones the zit instead of the clean area around it.
It's aggravating because it makes fixing skin a two step process:
    - Click and WAIT for LR to pick a spot and WAIT for it to complete the healing process
    - Then move the selection and WAIT again for it to finish
Why not just let me pick the source in the first place and get rid of one of the two waiting periods?  It would make fixing up skin so much faster....

Yes, you can make it a one-and-a-half step process. Click-and-hold and drag
    to choose the source area.
If you just click, Lightroom selects that area automatically.

  • Advanced Healing Brush on Laptop Forward Slash " / "

Using the healing brush on a LapTop how do I switch between the several alternatives/ results. I have seen that presing " / " offers other results. But in a laptop you don´t have the "/ key" (only shown on top of the "7", so what key I need to press?
    Sorry for the stupid question
    Roberto

It sounds more like a hardware problem with how your keyboard is used to get that character. Because you need to press shift key with the 7 Lightroom may see it as either Shift-7 or Shift-/ neither of which is what you want.
    1) Try pressing the Fn key together with the zero key. As there is another  / key available there on your keyboard (the tiny symbols in bottom right corner)
Not sure though if your Fn key will act either as a toggle letting you use each of those characters in the bottom corner or if it is just press and hold it then press the desired other key.
    2) Look for Windows software that may allow you to reprogram/reassign just one key (ie the upside down ? ) that you could enable while using Lightroom and then disable when using other apps. (something like "keyboard layout manager" never used this myself...  so just a possible solution)
    3) Possibly change the Lightroom shortcut key to something different than / key...   look at the some of the solutons to do this mentioned in Julieanne Kost's Blog: http://blogs.adobe.com/jkost/2012/02/lr3-customizable-keyboard-shortcuts.html
Ideally #1 would be best fix.

  • Clone / Heal brush locking up in LR3 on a I7 Windows laptop

    Hello,
This is my first post to the forums so this may have been ask and answered already. (Did not see my specific issue during a quick search) Recently purchased a Windows I7 laptop to upgrade, replace my desktop running Vista. Using LR3 and have started having the clone / heal brush lock up on me. Lightroom stops responding and I have to restart the computer and LR. It does remember where it left off, but it is a major pain. Anyone else experience this?
