Lightroom 6 Help PDF?

Is there a downloadable manual for LR 6? I have LR6 installed on a partition that I don't like to connect  to the internet, except for registering S/W and suchlike. It would be useful to be able to educate myself on the ways of LR6 when I'm away from my PC, or 36,000 feet in the air.

Its here.   https://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/lightroom_reference.pdf

  • Is there a way to download the Lightroom Help info to my laptop?

I'm running LR4 on a PC, windows 7 64-bit.  Some times I work where I cannot be attached to the Internet, but still need the Help function.  Is there a way to download the Help info so that it can be used when I'm offline?
Thanks for any assistance with this.

Use the "View Help PDF" in the top right of the Help page. You can save this PDF to your computer for future viewing.

  • PE 9 and 10 Help PDF Invalid List View Descriptions

Bottom line: Has anyone reported on these problems, and, if so, what is being done about them?
Until proven otherwise, I believe that Premiere Elements 9 and 10 Help PDF requires editing of its List View Descriptions which are appropriate for at least version 8.0/8.0.1, 7, and 4, but not versions 9.0/9.0.1 and 10.  Please refer to the Help PDF Projects/View Clip Properties
    for version 10:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premiere...B-312BB3F13B11
    for version 9:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Premiere...355c-7f98.html
Problems in this regard for Premiere Elements later than version 8.0/8.0.1 and not for versions 8.0/8.0.1, 7, and 4:
    1. List View Properties display in text for export video file, no Data Rate Analysis graphs
    2. List View Columns, no ADD to add your own columns, so only Adobe built in ones, and none of the Adobe built in ones, like Client, allow for editable text.
    Comments:
    Data Rate Analysis
I had read somewhere that these graphs appear for tape based rather than non tape based imports. Mini test: Premiere Elements MPEG4.avi import and DV AVI export of the MPEG4.avi. Results: Version 8.0/8.0.1 Properties for import in text format (file properties) only and Properties for export in text format (file + export properties) as well as display of Data Rate Analysis graph. Versions 9 and 10 Properties for import (file properties) and for export (file + export properties), both import and export text only.
    List View Columns
    1. If I look at the project.prel WordPad documents and the Client Column information there in each, I do not see any difference.
    2. If I create a Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 project, set List View column choices Comments and Client, type in the comments and client information, and save/close/and re-open the project in:
    a. Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1, the Comments columns and its information will not appear; the Client column will appear, but its information will not be editable. (The 9.0/9.0.1 version does have Client, but not Comments, as a built in choice under Edit Columns)....the latter might explain why no Comments column except...
    b. Premiere Elements 10, neither the Comments nor Client columns and their information will appear. (The 10 version does have Client, but not Comments, as a built in choice under Edit Columns.)
    One of the Potential Problems:
It is well accepted that, if you edit a project from an earlier version in a later version, you cannot go back to the earlier version for editing. So, one potential problem that I see in all this is the loss of this type of information on upgrading from 8.0/8.0.1 and earlier....
    a. If you create a Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 or earlier project which includes Comments and Client information in these List View Column choices, you will lose all that information in version 10 and have only non-editable Client information in version 9.
And, yes we have filed an Adobe Feature Request/Bug Form on this one.
Any comments about what I may have overlooked in trying to get those Help PDF List View Descriptions to work for me would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

I definitely agree that the Help files could use some updating, Tony.

Encountered an error when attempting to open Lightroom for the first time. Went to Lightroom Help and searched for the error "An error occurred when attempting to change modules". Non of the solutions helped. What now?

I am getting this error message as well. I have just downloaded Lightroom recently. I try to click on Lightroom / preferences....and nothing happens. I tried to uninstall and it is greyed out so I can't do that either. Suggestions? Please help?

  • I have used lightroom for years on my PC and just installed it on my new iMac.  I cannot import NEF files from iPhoto or from my Lacie hard drive into Lightroom.  I have tried Lightroom Help but still cannot import NEF files.  What am I doing wrong?

I have always used Lightroom with a PC and now have installed Lightroom 3.6 on my new iMac.  I cannot import raw (NEF) files from iPhoto (or from my Lacie drive for that matter into Lightroom. I have tried Lightroom Help to no avail. How do I import NEF files from the iMac into Lightroom?

If they are the same nef files that you were importing into your PC, see if the reason is an error message like the thread above this one. Permissions issue.

  • What's happened to downloadable help pdf for Premiere?

How do I download a help pdf for Premiere? When I open the help topics page, there is message bottom right which says that this info can be downloaded. But how?*

Thanks and sorry it took so long to reply.. I don't get notified of your reply. It's not really about the pdf version to be honest....
and I would do that...  except that 1. I shouldn't have to do that to get answers or when I use it as a reference. and 2. the help (more often than not) isn't for myself. I help other people with Photoshop and I used to be able to direct them right to the page at adobe.com for help. For that the old help system was PERFECT!  I use it more as a reference for msyelf, so the downloaded pdf is fine for that. But when I need to help others it's EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. I was literally almost in tears earlier today (hence me revisiting today.... to complain some more).
Sorry for your frustration. The new Help system takes some getting used to, as there are no page numbers or indices, only search and a Help and Tutorials page. I would suggest using the html version of the Help when dealing with others, as you can refer your clients to specific URLs.

I honestly and truly, hate with all my heart and soul, hitting F1 and getting that new help system page. Not only the new help system but a help system for a version I don't even have! I'm pressing "F1" within CS5 and someone thought it was going to be a good idea to send it's user to the lamest help system ever, for a program we may not even own! I can hardly find answers to just about ANY problem/question as the search results are a joke. They RARELY are even close to what I typed in!
Sorry you don't like the new Help system. Maybe I can help? Help for Premiere Pro is now "versionless" and is for CS5, CS5.5, and CS6. Every page is marked with the proper version. We still have the previous Help system in PDF format. Perhaps that would work for you? If so, go here: http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/archive.html
If you are having trouble searching for articles, I agree it isn't exactly intuitive. We're working on it. In the mean time, I wrote this blog post which should help you with better search results: Better Searches for Community Help.

  • Why is the "Lightroom Help"(F1) and the "Map Module" Offline?

I ask because everything requiring Internet connection thru Lightroom appears fine, such as the Web Module! There is nothing wrong with my Home Network nor any usage of the Internet, except when it comes to the Map Module and contacting "Lightroom Help"(F1) from the HELP Menu within Lightroom! I have been using Lightroom for a couple of years without encountering this issue and am baffled as to how to address solving it. Any input would be appreciated!

This is a well-known issue with Lightroom. Lots of adjustment brush usage on a particular photo will cause high CPU usage.
If you need to do a lot of brushing, you may be better off doing these tasks in Photoshop.
By the way, I have no idea what SSBOD means, I have never seen that acronym before.

  • Lightroom Help Causes App to Lock-Up

I am a new user of Lightroom and have loaded it on a Windows 7 64bit Home Edition laptop.  Whenever I click on "Lightroom Help" or "Lightroom Module Help" in the Help menu, the application locks up.  I get the same results with version 3.3 (which I downloaded) and version 3.2 (which is what was in the package I bought).  The application loads Lightroom 64bit by default, but I also loaded the 32bit version to see if it would work there as well.  No combination I try seems to make a difference.  Being that I am a brand new user of Lightroom, not having help available is a big deal to me - and I am not always connected to the internet whenever I am using the app so online help isn't a suitable substitute either.  Additionally, I am concerned that there is something else lurking in the background that is going to cause the app to lock-up that I just haven't discovered yet.
In the System Event Log, I only see this message accompanied by a 1002 Event code:
The program lightroom.exe version 3.3.0.10 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.

    Report Id: 5aafeb02-110f-11e0-954d-971ac3510a69
Any ideas on what to do to correct this?

  • Premiere freezes when opening Help PDF file

When I click help in the help menu, the PDF opens right away, but then Premiere freezes for about 40 seconds. I suspect it is trying to download some Internet content, but this behavior needs to be fixed. My Mac Pro is connected to an AirPort Extreme via wifi, but this network is not connected to the Internet, it's just for internal file transfers. If I turn off the computer's wifi, this problem does not happen. I get the same symptoms with Premiere, After Effects, an Media Encoder. All of the help PDFs are downloaded already and show current in Adobe Help.

    Hi, spookybathtub,
Just confirming that you're running Premiere Pro CS6?
    Thanks,

  • Help PDF Document for Photoshop Elements 7

When I was using Photoshop Elements 6, I was able to download a file named pselements_6_help.pdf which was a pretty good help manual for PSE6.  It had much more information than was available in the online help documents that you go to when you click on Photoshop elements Help in the Help menu, and it is searchable.  I was unable to locate a similar document for Photoshop Elements 7.  Is such a document available, and if so, how do you get it?
    Many thanks,

  • Cannot find Lightroom help

When I try to access Lightroom help from the help menu I get a windows message that "windows cannot find.............adobe lightroom\resources\fr\help\help.html".
I guess the problem is that I use an English version (the ....en\help\help.html is actually present) on a PC in France.
How and where can I correct the path to the English help menu?
Thanks in advance for help on this.

ok, I think I solved the problem. I changed the en folder name to fr and it seems to work.

  • Elements 8 - Help PDF

Can anyone provide a link to the Help PDF for Elements 8. I am getting an error 404 when I try to access via the help menu
    Thanks
    Mike

Thanks Bill, what I was looking for was just the reference, I have Premier Pro 1.5 and it works a tad different to PE8
But this seems to be an ongoing problem with Adobe, changing the location of legacy Help PDF's - happened with a few of the Photoshop CS versions - guess they think everyone will upgrade to the latest and greatest

  • Acrobat Standard help pdf

    Hey all,
After getting terrible support trying to find out why adobe acrobat help function was not working behind our work proxy and finally getting a response "we do not support the use of our apps behind proxies"
I have made the decision to make the help file offline by downloading the help docs and creating a new shortcut in the Help menu to point to it...I have done this in reader with no problems but with Acrobat I am having two issue....
    1. Where can I get a local copy of Acrobat Standard help pdf? I see plenty of support sites pointing to the professional document but none for Acrobat standard.
    2. How do I disable the Acrobat X Help meny item? I have done this in reader with teh following js command -
              app.hideMenuItem("HelpReader");
But in Acrobat it must be different and "HelpAcrobat" doesn't work either...
    Hope someone can help!
    cheers
    Davooo

    See: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/standard/using/index.html
There's a link in the upper right corner for the PDF.
To find out the menu item names, see: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.151.html
Run the example 2 code in the interactive JavaScript console and inspect the results. The Help menu item names will be near the end.
    Edit: corrected link

  • Adobe help and help PDF

My Adobe help app have some problem - i try to updated the file but they are always out of date?
    What is the problem?
NB: when the help PDF file could be ready in gr/fr/it (photoshop/indesign/illustrator)?

The screen shot shared by you  is not good enough to see the issue.
What happens when you go to "Local Content" section and then update th help file there, does that help.

Wie weet waar ik de Illustrator CS5 Help PDF (gebruiksaanwijzing) kan downloaden? Op de verwachte plaats verschijnt niets

    Hi Silkrooster,
Thanks for your suggestion. I've used the Adobe Remover Tool a while back (which, as far as I know, is supposed to remove all of your cached settings, etc.), and it seemed to clear out my errors for a while, but I've been getting quite a few again. Nevertheless, I've removed the "AIPrefs" file as you suggested in hopes that it will reset everything.
I'll see how it goes and update this discussion in a few days.
Thanks for your reply! And any other thoughts are still welcome.
P.S. I was able to remove my AI Preference file using these two tutorials in case anyone else needs to know as well:
