Lightroom 6 serial number issues...

Purchased Lightroom 6 upgrade (already have 5.7 on my Mac) and while performing the setup, it asks for my serial number. I input the code and the error message I get reads, "serial number you provided is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer." As I said, I already have Lightroom 5.7 on my Mac, so not sure what the issue is. Any ideas?

Via customer service chat, I was told...
"You need to enter the serial number for lightroom 6 and then lightroom 5".
Will give that a shot...

Creative Suite 6 and Lightroom 4 serial number issue

Hi my name is Teresa.
I bought the student edition Creative Suite 6 and Lightroom 4 a year ago through the bookstore of my university in CD download format and installed it in my desktop. I got the serial number through an email that they sent to my university email address. I must have deleted that email by mistake because I can't find it anymore. I didn't register the two softwares on my Adobe account so I can't see the serial numbers on that.
I just bought a laptop today and I want to install the same applications but not knowing the serial number, it is impossible to install. I contacted Adobe Customer Service but they kept referring me to another person to another person, and eventually wasted 3 hours without solving anything.
Is there anything I can do? I am in a puzzle. I need help now.
P.S. I have the exisiting softwares on my desktop but not on my laptop.

If support can't help you, then nobody can. We don't have access to their databases here. Still, try to contact them again and escalate this to the higher levels.

2 issues - Invalid Serial Number issue & Lightroom 5 Trial vs full version folder hierarchy question

not sure if I should split these two questions...
1 - Invalid Serial Number issue
I'm helping out a friend with their large photo collection and they bought Lightroom 5 and received the serial number but when we add this to Lightroom it states that it's invalid - I tried leaving it until the following week (I visit them weekly) and it still refusing the number - when I went into their Adobe account and took a look at downloads the option to download the full version is greyed out (or an x - I'm not sat on their computer right now so can't double check) but it wouldn't allow me to do anything so we just had the trial version.
anyone know what the issue is - shall I get them to contact Adobe to get them to take a look - I also had issues trying to find a customer support email address lol. (I seem to faffing with lots of websites/software/companies this week so getting a little frazzled!)
2 - Lightroom 5 Trial vs full version folder hierarchy question
This question is linked to the above i- I am wondering if the folders in Lightroom are different in the trial version vs the fully paid version.
I had set up some greeting card templates and contact sheet layouts for my friend and tried to transfer them to her computer but whilst, LR 'sees' the folders it just doesn't acknowledge the templates - I tried it several ways but I've not had that issue before so will that sort itself when I get the serial number fixed?

Hi Lenny, the two questions may be related but the trial is actually the same as the full version. I would suggest getting the serial number issue sorted out first. There have been known issues where a paid for product still shows up as a trial.There is not a lot the community can do. You need to contact Adobe directly using the link below. Use the dropdown menu for boxes (1) & (2) to scroll down the list and choose:
1. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom

Serial number issue in STO PGR

I am facing serial number issue after doing PGR
i am into STO process . Oce PGI for outbound delivery is created and then MIGO (PGR) will happen at recveing pant
issue is after MIGO (PGR) the serial number status must be in AVLB ..but it is still in EDEL ESTO ...
The AVLB status must come automatically in the equipment master.

I am doing through PO...we don't have inbound delivery process ... so i do MIGO with reference to PO
We have equipment master IE01/2.. plant is assigned after MIGO reeving plant is getting updated in the equipment master but the serial number status is not getting changed to AVLB.... also the serial number profile is with MMSL procedure.

Its better to explain with the example.
Material Number : ABCD with serial number as 123456
There is a reservation for the Material ABCD from work order, now the warehouse person Goods Issues for the reservation ABCD with serial number 06-123456.(he issued wrong serial number)
Correction action - Reverse Goods Issue for serial number 06-123456, now Goods issue for correct number as 123456. But the systems doesnot allows the serial number, error Material ABCD 123456 is already installed. Thenin IQ09 the material ABCD with SNO 123456 is INSTL Status.
Now question.
1. In 1st place how system allows the Goods issue for particular reservation with different serial number?
2. Without issuing the serial number 123456, how the status changed to INSTL???
3. How to solve this problem, need to change the stauts of Material 123456 as ESTO, then i can do goods issue,. how to change the status??

Hi,
Ask the workcentre to give that materail with 202 or 262 mvt to you. Now with the new reservation issue the required serial number material to site.
System does not have the serial number in reservation slip.Manually u are assigning it diuring the MIGO.

Lightroom 5 Serial Number Woes

Have Lightroom 5 serial number, proof of payment, installation CD, etc Adobe registration doesn't accept it; hired computer expert who advises get new serial number - unable to contact Adobe by phone to get one - have had product for 8 days and still unable to use it - service please - has anyone got an Adobe service phone number that works or has encountered the same problem and got it resolved?

Live Adobe telephone help solved my problem: one digit of my validation
code was wrong. Upside: Lightroom working like a charm. Downsides: had to
wait 3 hours to finally talk to real person at client service centre in
Asia (but person was helpful and quite articulate), and had to accept that
Adobe insisted that it was human (my) rather than machine error (code flaw
that led to incorrect digit being generated). Not worth candle to try to
persuade them to fix coding flaw but I did point out that others might have
same problem. Good luck.

CS4 Extended Serial Number issue

while registering CS4 Extended I have a problem. As Upgrade Version only CS3 Extended is shown, not my valid CS3.
Any ideas?

Serial number issues can only be handled by calling Adobe.

Photoshop LightRoom Serial Number Issue

I bought Adobe Photoshop Lightroom a couple weeks ago from Best Buy in box format (with a serial number insert). I tried installing it on my computer and registering and using the serial number and all that, but it says that the serial number is no good, and I've checked it at least 5-10 times, and I typed it correctly every time. What do I need to do and is there a way that I could get a replacement serial number at all?? I need Lightroom to work ASAP so that I can finish a customers project that is soon to be DUE.

Lightroom 6 serial number does not work.

After buying the upgrade from Lightroom 5 to 6 and after installing I am asked for the serial number. When using the serial number received from the e-mail confirmation I receive the message that it cannot be validated?

I'm having the same issue. When I enter the serial number I get an error that says that it cannot be validated.
The solution posted is also confusing.. I originally bought Lightroom stand alone.. I don't think I have a Creative Cloud membership plan, at least I know for sure I don't pay on a monthly basis and the account page is not very clear at telling me if I do have a free one or I can try a free one...

Serial Number Issues - very frustrated!

I am amazed at how Adobe handles their issues. I have been working on this easy process of finding my serial number but it's been over a month now and after providing documentation that I am who I am and a ton of additional information - I swear the next piece they were going to ask was to finger print me. They finally found my order - yeah! They gave me a serial number and closed my case. It didn't work. I have re-opened this case and it was immediately closed stating it was taken care of (thanks which i Mohammed!). They tell you to re-open the case if you are still having issues, which I was...then they close it not even a half hour later stating it's been resolved. WHAT??? NO! I need the correct serial number to fix this!

Without knowing anything about your case, it’s possible that the serial number is for the correct product but for a different licensing type and to fix things you just have to find the correct installer for the product that matches the license type.
What product is the serial number supposedly for and/or what product are you trying to install?
What license type is it: individual, academic, student, teacher, enterprise, government, teams, cloud?
Do you have a chat transcript that you can review again, privately, to help determine what license type the serial number is for?
Don’t post your serial number, here, in its entirety or even most of it, because this is a public forum, but can you give us the first 4 digits (of the 24 digits) because some Adobe products, at least, have the same four digits for each product serial number at least of a specific license type and sometimes for all license types, and that would help validate whether the serial number you’ve been given matches what you’re trying to install. For example, all recent Lightroom serial numbers for the Individual license type start with the four digits 1160.

Acrobat 9 Standard - Invalid Serial Number Issue

I bought a new in the box photoshop elements 12 just before christmas new in the box from Amazon. I tried to install but it said the serial number was invalid. I talked to help staff for hours and could not get it to work. Did this issue ever get fixed? Is there a version of photoshop elements that will work? By work I mean when you enter the serial number on the package that you can install and the serial number will work. I am replacing photoshop elements 7 which says I have installed it too many times.

I am using Lenovo g50-70. When I type "wmic bios get serialnumber" on the command prompt.It is showing numeric values instead of alpha numeric. I already installed BIOS software, still showing numeric values. Please give me answers to my questions. 1) Is BIOS and Product serial number both are same? 2) Is BIOS serial number is numeric or alpha numeric? 3) Is there any possibility to put/change BIOS serial number as Product Serial number? Welcome to the Forums
As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with touchpad in your Lenovo G50 laptop.
Serial number will be alpha numeric, as you have mentioned it shows only numeric you can make a BIOS default, restart the system and keeps tapping f9 key and select make BIOS default option.
Can you share the snap shot of the BIOS through private message so that we can validate the issue.

Third Party replaced Motherboard under warrantee, did a great job. Serial Number issue

No, not a refurbished phone. Brand new in the packaging from Vodafone. I am currently researching the alleged "third party hardware" and believe it is the dock connector that Apple claim they didn't put there. These retail at about £4.99. Believe me, if I had had a third party repair of a £4.99 piece of kit I would just do it again not take it to Apple to try and fix. There is no logic to it. I'm not going to go down the cynical route of the fact that this "intruder discovery" was made whilst the phone was out of my sight being worked on by their repair staff!?!?
I have also discovered there is no one to email at Apple to complain. The only suggestions appear to be phoning or the Genius Bar. Obviously, I've been to the Genius Bar to be told that they won't do anything because of this mysterious intruder in their phone.
Further, I am now in a position where I cannot dispute that the phone has been opened as it now has; by Apple. The staff admitted that before they opened it "it didn't appear to have been opened before" but they stuck by their "we won't do anything" stance upon their discovery.
I've got a photo of the inside of the phone and to my untrained eye everything appears immaculate. None of of the screw heads, numerous of which would have to be removed and replaced for the "intruder" to get in there, are marked in anyway. Can't see why anyone would go to the trouble.
The phone isn't even under warranty so it's not like I'm trying to get a new for old - I just wanted it fixed by the "experts".
Rest assured, I will get to the bottom of this.

Trial mode and serial number issue with Creative Cloud

I recently bought a CC membership but I seem to be getting the same trial mode/serial number window others have been receiving when trying to open a Creative Cloud app. I've already spoken with two Adobe techs without any resolves. I've uninstalled and reinstalled CC, I renamed an OOBE file that the tech suggested I do and looked into the Language preferences. I'm on an iMac 10.8.4.
I'm really not technically minded but to me it seems like something continues to read my original CS6 trial I had previously. I've since uninstalled it but something remains perhaps My only thoughts at this point would be to make sure I have any recent files backed up then perhaps use Time Machine and revert back to before I installed CC then try installing again OR do the trial and hope once the 30 days are up it will read my paid account.
I would really appriciate any feedback. I've used far too many excuses at work having missed deadlines due to this issue.

Okay, I think I have it solved *fingers crossed* by following this:
Mac:
1. Please click on "Go" and navigate to /private/etc
2. Open "hosts" file and check out for any entries for Adobe.com
3. Remove the entries and save the file
4. try again launching any product from CS6

I did a backup of the hosts file and labelled it "hosts-backup" and put it on my desktop, then made another copy of the hosts file (since you can't alter the original). This time I removed ALL the Adobe entries and named the file "hosts", and saved that to the desktop. I then replaced the original hosts file with the altered saved version by dragging it into the etc folder.
I started up Flash cc and it worked! I've since downloaded PS cc and it's opened as well. I just hope it continues to function...
