Lightroom And Other Adobe Products With Direct X 10
I am just curious about whether or not Abobe products use Direct X as well as OpenGL and if in the future it will make full use of Direct X 10 on Vista machines. Direct X 10 seems to have some of the gamers positively drooling.

The GTX 650 would be priced slightly higher than the GT 640 - and then, the OP would have to "settle" for only 1GB of graphics RAM instead of 2GB. The GTX 650 is currently not available with 2GB of RAM.
Both the GT 640 and the GTX 650 are based on the same GPU - the GK107, with 384 CUDA cores. The two major differences are that the GK107 on the GTX 650 is clocked higher than the one on the GT 640, and that the GTX 650 has almost triple the memory bandwidth of the GT 640 (80 GB/s versus 28.8 GB/s).

We purchased Photoshop CS4 Extended for our educational use as Volume License...
When we purchased the following products:
1. Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended
2. Adobe Dreamweaver CS4
3. Adobe Page Maker 7.0
4. Adobe Flash CS4 Professional
we only got the "SERIAL NO. (VL) with Licence Certificate". We didn't get any Application CD/DVD media or Manuals.?
Then we downloaded and installed the product with the serial supplied. product is working fine.. but if Adobe is charging such amount for their product, then the Applicatio Media & Manuals should be issued for the client.

Downloaded files should be backed up on a blank DVD.
Your purchasing agent should have been aware that a license and media are two separate purchases for volume customers.

Adobe is not 'charging such amount'. You have the cheapest license available and have the same product as a retail user. Appreciate it. -
Issues with flash and other adobe products.
Ok, so i've been using flash player for quite a number of years now aswell as other products like acrobat reader when i used windows, over the years flash player has developed into a totally inneffecient and almost unusable product. on top of the security issues of past with flash player and especially acrobat reader, with remote code execution vulnerabilities, i have, as have thousands of others noticed a very large decrease in performance with flash.
i should note that a year or two ago, i could play HD flash content no problem, both 720 and 1080 resolutions, full screen without any issue. i would expect it to take up a decent portion of cpu cycles, which it did, i use to be able to run flash content at 720 with about 30 - 50% cpu usage. now it seems with flash 10 my AMD Athlon 4000+ struggles to play even 720 videos. My cpu is by no means a top performer, it is however capable of handling somewhere in the region of a billion instructions per second. for video content to require that amount of data to be handled is rediculous.
HD content played back on my local machine using a different codec, my cpu barely even uses 5 - 10% cpu time, not only that, these videos have roughly about the same compression rates as flash videos. i just don't understand how flash can require so much resources without taking into account innefficient and bloated code.
today i tried to access a web page that required flash content to display images, it was not a video, but an image database, going from one page to the next took somewhere in the region of 20 - 30 seconds, while my cpu maxed out at 100% and firefox stopped responding, which is totally unnacceptable.
it wouldn't normally be a problem if there were good alternatives, but there aren't any, im stuck with this piece of crap software if i want to view any flash content. the only real alternative is to upgrade, which i am not prepared to do if the next version of flash is just going to push those boundries even further for features i don't need.
my proposal is to:
1. rewrite the code with effeciency rather than new features in mind, if that means getting able programmers in, then so be it.
2. make flash modulous, where the basic package provides capabilties to play flash content and separate plugins to provide for all the individual unnecessary features that are not required for basic flash content. surely you can build a package that provides all those plugins for regular users and a basic package + optional plugins for those who know what they want or need.
it really makes no sense why such a large corporation with all this experience to provide a product that quite simply.. sucks, well it does actually, either your programmers are incapable of creating a stable, efficient product or you are purposly trying to push hardware upgrades onto people. lets not forget that flash content is huge business on the web, adobe flash player has a strangle hold on that market, it would be naive to think that hardware vendors have not approached adobe with specifications to further make the money wheel go round.
sort it out, because i for one, am in the process of completely removing my dependancy on adobe flash, if the right product comes along, others will do to, in droves. it's a bubble that is going to burst and there is no way back when you have millions of lines of quite frankly, amateurish code.Eric,

Problems installing photoshop and other adobe products
hey! i recently make a clean windows install. (xp pro) and wen i try to instal photoshop cs3, i run the setup.exe but nothing happens, so i cant make it work,
and with illustrator cs5, i was able to make the install, but when i try to run it it says to me that there is an invalid image, with a file named AIRes.dll
any ideas?Not much point in your post. You did in no way provide enough info. In particular it would be relevant in which order you are attempting to install and what otehr Adobe products are on teh system. Anyway, based on your post it sounds like you already made a mess of things, so run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and start over...

Using bootcamp to install XP followed by Photoshop and other Adobe products
I just got MacBook Pro and am about to use Bootcamp to install Windows XP so that I can use Photoshop and other such Adobe programs. Anybody, who has done this, what can you tell me about it? Does it work well? How much of a partition do you recommend? Have you encountered any problems during this process? Are there any major dangers involved with installing XP on my mac?
I have done all of the above with No Issues thus far:
1) Boot Camp/Windows partition I use is 50MB for XP SP2
2) I have Adobe Photoshop 7.0 installed
3) No problems on my side
I printed out the Boot Camp/Windows instructions and followed them exactly.

Poorly Designed Lightroom and other Adobe Forums
When is Adobe going to overhaul their forums? All Adobe forums including Lightroom are painful to navigate and read. With so many great formats out there on the net not to mention Adobe's deep history of quality design software, why can't they come up with a better format? I almost never use these forums for this reason. It's very sad. Come on Adobe get us something that wasn't designed in the mid 1990's.

How can I migrate data from a form to complete a pdf fillable form (such as a contract) and then send to echosign in an automated process?

If it is about FormsCentral, there is nothing in FormsCentral that supports automated data migration.

I installed indesign CS5 on new macbook pro and keeps freezing with spinning wheel once the app opens. Is there an issue with OS Mav or font issue or a plist I can pull. All other Adobe products work.
Migration should never be done with any Adobe program.
If you have done Migration, you have to UNINSTALL first (if even possible) and then download Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool and run that also. When this is done, restart your computer and install the programs from an original Adobe Installer.
Other question is, if your OS is supporting that version. You can try it, it is not officially supported, but it might work.
But CC will work, upgrade to CC2014 (without additional cost), use that as it is better anyway. -
I am a long-term user of Lightroom as a standalone product with a perpetual licence. As a retired person on limited income, it is very disappointing to me that Adobe have introduced the 'Creative Cloud' (CC) subscription service in order for me to be able to continue upgrading this excellent product. It will be for me too expensive at the minimum cost of £9 per month. The additional services that CC brings are personally of no relevance or usefulness. Adobe should be prepared to support existing users who are, like myself, non commercial, amateur photographers by giving them the simple opportunity to upgrade to Lightroom 6 as a standalone, perpetual licence product. As a member of a camera club I know my co-members who use Lightroom are equally disappointed by this move to a subscription-only service.

Yes, but when I bought my standalone license and clicked on the "Download" button it took me to the LightroomCC page. The downloaded file is named Lightroom 6, but in the CC app the installed program is LightroomCC (2015). -
Familar with other Adobe products but new to Encore...

I'm completely new to Adobe Encore but have worked with many other Adobe products such as Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and I am currently learning Dreamweaver. I recently picked up the Adobe Production bundle and am planning to put together a Demo Reel. I have heard that encore would be the best place to put everything together for a DVD. Since I am new to the whole program though, I don't exactly have a firm grasp of even where to begin. Does anyone know of some good websites I can venture to, to help get my feet wet with the program? I would greatly appreciate any sites that someone could posts or even books that I could read up on. Sorry if there is a huge faq page some where on the Adobe website here and I've missed it. Thanks!I would also strongly suggest Jeff Bellune's Encore book, A Focal Easy Guide to Adobe EncoreDVD 2.0, Focal Press. Though the name contains "EncoreDVD 2.0," 100% of the book will apply to ALL versions of Encore, from 2.0 to CS4. Now, the Adobe Dynamic Link in CS4 is not covered, but that is a minor point, and the CS4 Help files (plus this forum) cover that very well. Though there are no AV files in the book, it is very clear, and will step the reader through both Encore and the DVD-specs, by which we all must live. This is my go-to reference for anything related to Encore and is just as useful now, as it was with the introduction of En 2.0.

In famous products like AfterEffects or Director, No way to
type correctly arabic text or (rtl) generally - The only way is
converting the text to a graphic format in an external program !!
And there is no Middle East versions for these products.

Since several Adobe products such as After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator use the same text engine you might want to try copy-pasting Arabic text from the Photoshop CS4 template provided in this blog post to After Effects CS4 and see if it works. AFAIK Director uses a different text engine from PS, AI and AE.

Yes, the s4 is compatible with music and photo transfers between your imac. I don't have experience with the cloud, but it should be the exact same thing.
Now, there will be a few differences between how you get the files onto said device. With the iPhone, you may be able to do it wirelessly, but with the s4 you will have to plug it in.
The s4 will not work with iLife or iLife applications either. However, bigger screen, more customizable ui and experience with samsung phones personally, I would recommend the s4 over the iPhone 5.

Hi. I was wondering how many computers I can install a purchased version of Photoshop onto (or other Adobe products)? Can I install one copy onto two systems I own, eg: my desktop and laptop? I would like to say that being able to add software onto 2 systems, especially software for productivity and fun, is highly important. This is something Adobe needs to keep doing and a lot of other companies too. Plus it is something some companies need to look into if they can set up the system right. This is one reason I am planning on buying one companies software for music production over the other (which also requires the usb key/lock or company #2's product doesn't work). It is a good selling point for someone like me with a desktop and laptop, cost is a factor with double programs. -

MobileMe deleted calender and phonebook on Mac and iPhone
I synced my iPhone to my Macbook Pro, and it deleted the Address Book and iCal from both devices. All my software is up to date, so that shouldn't be a concern... You would think it would delete one or the other, but not both at the same time. If som
