Lightroom - as 64 bit native application

Hello All,
I searched but didn't find any information about this. Has anyone heard plans of a port of Lightroom to WinTel x64?
Thanks,
F

Adobe does not release their "plans", thus we don't know if that is in the works or not.

  • Run on a Windows 64-bit operating system either as a native application or under WOW64

I am using Visual Studio 2013 Professional, and need to compile my application in a way that it works with existing libraries on my system that are only 32 bit.
I read this someplace ....   "When you compile an application, you can specify that it should run on a Windows 64-bit operating system either as a native application or under WOW64 (Windows 32-bit on Windows 64-bit). WOW64 is a compatibility
environment that enables a 32-bit application to run on a 64-bit system. WOW64 is included in all 64-bit versions of the Windows operating system."
Can anyone tell me HOW I "specify that it should run on a Windows 64-bit operating system either as a native application or under WOW64 (Windows 32-bit on Windows 64-bit)."  ?

  • How to use 64-bit native libraries on Solaris?

This question has probably been asked many times, but I couldn't find the answer in my searches.
How can I get Java Web Start on a Solaris client (Solaris 10 in this case, with JRE 1.5, both 32-bit and 64-bit versions installed) to run a java application that includes a 64-bit native code library? The application runs fine when invoked directly on the workstation.
The application downloads properly with Java Web Start, including the jar file that has the native shared object, but when the native library is loaded by the java application, I get a "wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64" error.
I assume that is because Web Start is invoking the 32-bit java VM, which can't load a 64-bit library. I tried configuring Java Web Start to use the 64-bit VM (by setting the path to java to ".../jre/bin/sparcv9/java" in the javaws console) but then I get an error that says "Can't load library: .../jre/lib/sparcv9/libdeploy.so".
Does Java Web Start support the use of 64-bit native code libraries, and if so, what am I doing wrong?
    Thanks.

So, it may be better to create links in $APP_HOME/bin/java that point to the binaries in /usr/jdk/version-you-want-to-use/bin/sparcv9 rather than copying binaries.
To see current java links: (I edited all non-java-related links out of listing)
    -> ls -la /usr/bin/j*
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root other 15 Oct 1 2007 /usr/bin/jar -> ../java/bin/jar

BTW, on my machine (SunFire v445, Solaris10, 64-bit)
    isainfo -v produces this:

    64-bit sparcv9 applications
    vis2 vis

Does Java Web Start support 64-bit native code, and if so, what do I need to do differently?
    Thanks.

No it can't. On the Sun download page of the JRE it says that 64 Bit systems need to use the 32 Bit JRE to execute Plugins - this might be the same for Web Start apps.

  • WebLogic Server 9.2 MP3 x64 (64-bit) does not contain a 64 bit native dir

I downloaded 9.2.3 MP3 from edelivery.oracle.com. I made sure to select "BEA WebLogic Media Pack for Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit)" and selected WebLogic Server 9.2 MP3. When I installed the server from the downloaded file, I do not have a 64 bit native directory - instead I have weblogic9\server\native\win\32.
Did I install it incorrectly? Can someone offer guidance?
    Thanks

First of all you should check out which products are supported on 64bit :- http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/bi/hyperion-supported-platforms.html
If you are planning on using windows 64bit EAS then you will have to manually deploy the web application, it cannot be automatically deployed.

  • Running a Windows 32 bit C++ application

    Hello,
I have a Windows 32 bit VC++ application installed on my hard disk. I want that this application should be run when I click on a link on a web page. Can I do this using java web start. What i want to do is deploy this application on a client machine. I will then have a web server on his intranet. When he clicks on a link it will launch the client application on his hard disk. What i want to avoid is any sort of messages like " Do you want to save this file to the disk or run this program from the current location" and hence i would like to use java web start. Do you have any suggestions?

    I have a Windows 32 bit VC++ application
ication installed on my hard disk. I want that this
application should be run when I click on a link on a
    web page.
Can I do this using java web start.Perhaps it is technically possible (eg writing a little java wrapper that pulls the exe over and then launches it with runtime.exec("foo.exe")) but it misses the point.
Java Web Start is intended for use with applications written in Java (plus perhaps same native libs), that are executed using the standard JREs.
The other problem adressed is that nobody wants to have foreign code, that resides on some visited server, to execute without restrictions on one's client.
That's why the security stuff is in there.
Another problem is versioning, to sync server versions and the versions in the client cache.
want to do is deploy this application on a client
machine. I will then have a web server on his
intranet. When he clicks on a link it will launch the
client application on his hard disk.It is possibly easier for you to buy some other deployment tool that has been made for this purpose or to write some launcher yourself.
Let's say your launch descriptors are put in a .mld (my launch descriptor) file.
It might contain some hints on the application you want to start, or might contain even nothing and just acts as trigger for your launcher.
You register the .mld mime type with the browser to start up your launcher whenever an URL ending on an .mld extension is hit.
You launcher will then connect to the server, download the app (e.g. via secure copy 'scp') and starts it.
This could be done even with perl or python scripting.

    Marc

  • Calling 32-bit native DLL hosted on Azure

I am looking for guidance on how to call 32-bit native DLL through WCF service hosted on Azure. I've been unable to find a tutorial but the path appears to be...
    * Register DLL using Startup task
    * Write WCF service hosted in Azure
    * Enable 32-bit for the application pool
    * Add reference to 32-bit COM server to my WCF service
    * In my WCF service, create instance of server and call method
Am I on the wrong track or am I missing anything?
Would it be possible/easier to use PInvoke to avoid having to register COM server?  I'm not sure how to reference the DLL for PInvoke DLLImport statement.

    Hi,
There was an blog detailed how to use 32bit Native DLL in Windows Azure,  in this blog, the author demonstrated how to use a 32bit dll in the Cloud by means of hosting it under a 32bit process and then use WCF communication to do the
    marshaling.

  • How to view *.eml files in Lotus Notes as native application?

Using Desktop Integration for Lotus Notes, and using Contribution Folders via Notes:
I can drop-and-drag an e-mail from lotus notes inbox to the contribution folder (in Notes) ok. I can view the *.eml file in Contribution Folder (Notes and Explorer), when I select "View" from the Contribution Folder it first attempted to open the file in outlook, I then changed the "view with" attribute,to Notes. Notes attempts to open the file and throws an error message: Invalid Directory Name or device not ready.
Has anyone come across this before? If so, how did you ensure application consistency that e-mails declared as "documents" are accessed again via the native application (Lotus Notes not Outlook)?
    Many thanks,
    A.

Not entirely. At least we came to the conclusion it doesn't make (much) sense to block the save option of PDFs if you want to allow printing them
Anyway; there is of course another possibilty: you could always write your own java bean PDF reader; there are plenty of java PDF libraries available:
Open Source PDF Libraries in Java
The easiest way would be to choose one which can open a PDF from a URL and render it; I would retrieve the image via mod_plsql using WPG_DOCLOAD and simply use the PDF library to render the PDF. No tempfiles anyway, and if you don't implement it there is also no save button.
    cheers

  • How to open file in their native application

How to open file in their native application form web browser?
if associated .txt file should open in editplus then from web browser if I try to open .txt file it should open in editplus rather then open in notepad(default), If on other computer if I associate .txt file should open in word, it should open in word. I am using Tomcat Web Server.

that's nothing you could influence from a servlet or jsp.
all you could do is specifying the content type of your response.
Next you might hope that the client requesting your content uses a browser that relates the given content type to a special application (e.g. "text/plain" -> editplus or notepad or kedit or word or ...)

  • Opening a file in its native application from Flex.

Is it possible to open a file on whatever native application the user runs it as?  Or even, at that, to simply open the directory it's in, in an explorer window?
We have a search application and the frontend is in Flex, and I'm trying to find a way to do this, such that when a use double clicks on a result (in a datagrid - but that's trivial), it opens the file or at least the location of the file on the OS.
Any system call where I can say system("explorer.exe " + filepath); or something?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Dear BillBlalock ,
thank you for answer!! You are very kind and helpful!! I would like to inform everybody that I have finally find another way of soilving my problem and I announce it to the forum in case somebody else encounters the same problem. Well, I soved the nproblem by using the following code:
