I have sort of the exact same problem. Extremely far away from user friendly
I have an second issue as well: When I hook off all-day it comes up with an 8 hour event!
And then if I put in a late start hour it pushes end time to next day due to the 8 hour event suggestion.
All in all this gives a lot of changes just to enter an event.
    Command N
I learnt from your input to use this fuction. At least that comes up with a one hour event as default.

  • Lightroom can't find Photoshop CS3 to edit files?

I installed Lightroom, and then the 1.1 update when I had Creative Suite 2 installed on my Sony Vaio laptop.
I've since installed Creative Suite 3, and uninstalled CS2...
Now, when I try to edit a photo from Lightroom, it can't find Adobe Photoshop. The only way I can edit in photoshop from Lightroom is to set Photoshop CS3 as an 'external' editor.
How can I reset Lightroom to recognise that I've got Photoshop CS3 installed?
    Cheers,
    J.

    Hi Wick,
The 'external' editor is called by CTRL-ALT-E.. Lightroom appears to keep CTRL-E purely for Photoshop, and this isn't editable...
However, I have solved the problem.. well, at least found a workaround... I don't know what caused it - perhaps the uninstallation of CS2 AFTER installing CS3?
If you have this problem, you'll need to add the following key to the registry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\photoshop.exe
create a new string value called "path" that contains the path to your photoshop.exe file.
Then Lightroom will find photoshop and you can edit using CTRL-E again and still keep a secondary editor!

  • Windows can't find photoshop.exe

I had CS5, Worked well for like 1 month, then, I had this problem so I tried installing CS6 (I STILL HAVE CS5) and the same with CS6. Not only photoshop, I can't open any ADOBE's applications.
    PLEASE HELP ME!

Well, does it work? That's the 64-bit executable. If it works, you can just make a new shortcut to it.
There may be some mixup of 32-bit and 64-bit versions here. Old desktop shortcut that no longer connects to anything?
Program Files is the directory for the 64-bit versions. Program Files (x86) ditto for 32-bit versions (and that's what the error refers to).

  • Old Problem/New Problem: Lightroom can't find file, then finds, but won't edit it.

    (Lightroom 2; Macintosh G5; OS X (10.4.11))
First, the old problem which, though unresolved, is here mostly for background:
    A little over a month ago, I posted a question (at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/480423?tstart=0 ).
The short version of that problem is that certain previously accessible images were not able to be opened in Lighroom. The preview image appeared in the main window accompanied by this message across the top of it:
"The file named "[name of image/file]" is offline or missing."
When I right clicked on the image and selected "Show in finder" I got this message:
"The photo '[name of file]' could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?"
Below which was shown the original path to the file. In the middle of that path, one or more folders appeared with colons in their names in place of the slashes originally part of the names (some folders have dates in their names). Following the path via the Finder, the file was exactly where it was supposed to be, although, of course, slashes appeared instead of the colons that were in the Lightroom summary of the original path, but Lightroom couldn't find them.
I was convinced that Lightroom was renaming the folders (but only in its interface; the original folders had correct names in the finder -- which is the only way they could have been named, since colons are illegal characters and won't be accepted as part of a file name). But I see now that there is some weird thing going on in the Finder itself. Even though I see the correct name on a folder when I search for it, or navigate through the hierarchy, if I click on the file at the end of that hierarchy (the file that Lightroom said it couldn't find) and ask for file info (via Command - I, or other method), the path to that file shows colons where slashes should be, but only in the names of the folders that were so named in Lightroom. All other folders with slashes in their names are listed correctly. So it's a Finder problem. Though this is still a mystery, I have been able to work around the problem. But how is this happening? (Note that I will be reformulating the question and posting it on the Apple discussion groups soon; I don't expect this forum to deal with Apple system issues. Just thought that others here may have had the same problem.)
Now, the new problem, possibly related to the old one:
In the same collection where I noted the previous problem, I selected an image that I wanted to print. The preview came up with this message:
"The file could not be found."
But when I right click on the image and select "Show in finder" it opens the correct Finder window with the file in question highlighted. The file, a TIFF, opens normally in Preview or Photoshop.
So why does Lightroom think it's not there? (even though it can show me exactly where it is)
I have edited this photo in Lightroom before. I have printed it from Lightroom before (as shown in the Lightroom history). But today it can't be edited, won't print and "could not be found"!!!
I know I can print from Photoshop, or re-import this photo into Lightroom (along with any others that Lightroom "can't find"), though both would require time and re-editing the original. I would rather understand (if that's possible) why this is happening in the first place, so hopefully I can avoid such wackiness in the future.
I realize that may have to burn some sage and hire a Shaman, but any ideas that won't smoke up the house or scare the cats would be most welcome.
    Thanks for reading.
    Leonard B.

If you have an old goat around that's not doing so well, consider the sacrifice.
The one thing that occurs to me besides the Gremlin, is the use of colons or slashes or some other character that the OS or LR doesn't like in some file name or other.  I think you'd have to change same in Finder, then show LR where the images are.

Can't find Photoshop on my desktop. Lightroom is available.

  • On a clean Firefox download I consistantly can't open Firefox because "Windows can't find Firefox.exe" - doesn't look like it's being downloaded.

I have used several download sites including Mozilla's to try and download Firefox. In every case, when the download is "complete", the Firefox icon appears in the taskbar. When I click on it to open Firefox I get this message "Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again." I've searched my computer and FIrefox.exe is not there. When I looked at the files that were downloaded in C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox there are quite a number of files including one with the Firefox icon and the name "Firefox". Clicking it once again brings up that can't find Firefox.exe dialog box. I'm on an Acer Aspire with Win 7 32 bit. I did have Firefox on the laptop but a virus forced me to restore the laptop to its original configuration. I've reloaded my programs with the exception of Firefox.

I just got a new Mac Mini, and now when I try to import photos into Lightroom, iPhoto ties to load them first, then Lightroom can't find the files.  Big problem.  What to do?

    Simple:
File -> Export to get your photos out of the iPhoto Library. In the Export dialogue you can set the kind to Original and you'll get back exactly what you put in.
Apps like iPhoto2Disk or PhotoShare will help you export to a Folder tree matching your Events.
Once exported, you can then trash the iPhoto Library - just drag it from the Pictures Folder to the trash and empty it.
After that, if you're entirely neurotic about it, just put the iPhoto app in the trash and empty it.

  • Can't find Javac.exe

I'm new to Java (presently taking a class). I'm very confused and not getting too far. I'm running Win XP and have downloaded the latest version of Java J2SE1.4.0_01 (actually because of repeated problems, I've uninstalled and installed it a few times).
I can't find javac.exe anywhere on my c drive. I read a past forum posting describing the same problem which suggests downloading the latest version of SDK1.4. Isn't this what I have been downloading? Where can I find this download? If it isn't what I've been downloading, why do I need both and how would I have known this? I understand how to set the path once I get javac.exe but I'm becoming frustrated trying to obtain this file and move forward with my study of java. Thanks for the help.

If you need only to run a java application then you just need a JRE (Java Runtime Enviorment ). It contains everything that you wanted to run it.
But, if you want to develop some java application , then you needs something more... you need to have to compile those source files first... For this what you want is a SDK (Software development Kit)... Both is free.. You can download the 1.4sdk from http://java.sun.com/Download6
After downloading and installing it, set the path corectly to include the bin directory of the installed folder..
    Hope it helped

  • I can't find OPatch.exe

I will plan to install CPU Patch on Oracle 9.2.0.7 but I can't find opatch.exe and not OPatch folder on any drive.
What's wrong and how to fix problem?
    Thank you

Since you declare you are in 9.2.0.7.0, you should be aware that at the companion readme file there is a note that clearly states as a post install step you must install an additional patch which relates to the opatch:
9.3.3 Download the Latest Version of OPatch
You must install OPatch version 1.0.0.0.53 in order to apply patches on top of 9.2.0.7. Download and unzip patch 2617419.

  • I have move all Pic to new drive, lightroom can't find PSD pictures?

I have moved all pictures and LRCAT to new drive, Lightroom can't find any PSD pictures?  Is this a problem with Lightroom?

    1.        I exported all pictures using export as a catalog  to a new external hard drive.  I’m using lightroom 5.  The file was large.  I have about 3000 missing pictures after to import to new drive.  sing find, I try to find the pictures.  I discovered that lightroom could not find any pictures with .PSD extension.  I would go to the prior drive and do a search using window explorer, I would find the picture with the PSD extension and go back to “find” again,  I would get to the correct folder and Lightroom would say there were no pictures in the folder.   I’m using the “!” on the corner of the missing picture to start the “ find”  and I work backwards until I find the correct folder that I identified using windows exployer.  Normally this process works great. Suggestions?

Where can I find photoshop elements 10 to download

If you registered your copy with adobe, you may find download links by going to the main page of adobe.com and clicking on My Adobe and working through the links there. If they're still available there, save the downloads this time, don't just run them, since adobe only makes those available for about 3 years.

  • Can't find nmake.exe

I'm currently running MatrixX 6.2.2 on Windows XP SP2.  When I try an run a simulation I get an error message, "Can't find nmake.exe" or something like that.
I've viewed some previous posts and the suggestions where dealing with VC compiler and running vcvars32.bat.  I've searched for this file on my PC and it doesn't exist.  It appears I don't have VC++ installed on my computer.  Does a version of this compiler get installed with the MatrixX install?
Where should I go from here?

    Hi Jim,
nmake.exe is part of Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0. So in order to run you simulation (probably with UCB are C code) to need to have Visual Studio installed and be sure that you register the environment variables when installing. In the help of the software, you can find the recommended compilers. We have try we a free bordland compiler and another make and it was not working. Visual Studio is the best.
