Lightroom catalog in Creative Cloud

Does anyone have experience with putting a Lightroom catalog in the Creative Cloud folder to use for multiple computers?  It seems like it should work well for photographers who are on the road a lot and would like to avoid merging catalogs after each trip. 

well it does not even work in a local network....

    I have just upgraded from Lightroom 5 standalone to Lightroom 6 standalone. I appear to have been automatically enrolled for a 30 day free trial of Lightroom Mobile and Creative Cloud. Reading the FAQ, it appears that after the expiry of the free trial, if I do not sign up and pay, I will only be able to view my pictures on the desktop but not edit them - surely this cannot be true. How do I un-enroll for the 30 day free trial of Lightroom Mobile and CC?

    When I was signed into Adobe (which was a requirement for installing the upgrade), Lightroom 6 told my at the top right corner that I had 30 days left of my free trial of Lightroom Mobile and Creative Cloud. In parallel with this forum posting, I am chatting with Adobe support. he is away to find out how to prevent any synching with Creative Cloud during the 30 day free trial. I do not think that Creative Cloud is an application that gets installed on your PC. I think Lightroom 6 has it built in, and can use it if if you are signed up to the Creative Cloud and Lightroom Mobile (which I am for 30 days)

        I'm having trouble installing Lightroom 5 from Creative Cloud. The file seems to download ok, but once it goes into it's installation I get the following error message:

    I've had this issue since upgrading to CC a few months ago. Anyone have any idea how I can fix this issue? Thanks.

    I just buy CC, download Ps ok, but i can't download Lightroom 5...it says error: DW006 code 7. I've already try download again but nothing, the same error.

  • Sharing Lightroom photos in Creative Cloud

    I am trying to find tutorials on how I can share Lightroom photos in Creative Cloud. We make client presentations on a tablet so I would like to be able to log in to my cloud account to show clients photos of ideas that correlate with their design/sales presentation. Can I create a collection in Lightroom and have that synched to Creative Cloud? Any other suggetsions on how to make this work?

    Victoria, you're absolutely right about the post.
    However, Adobe should make some sort of overture to people who have bought into the Creative Cloud and want to have LR4 as well. After all, they announced that it is coming SOON. That leaves people like me out on a limb not knowing where to turn. Should I spend the money (waste is the proper word!) to upgrade from version 3 or should I just let the trial version expire and wait until they finally added to CC. Adobe should give their customers a little guidance!

    Solution 1: Sign out from Creative Cloud desktop app and sign back in
    Sign out from, and back in to, the Creative Cloud desktop app. Click here for instructions
    Launch Lightroom.

    Possibly you have a LIghtroom trial or perpetual license version installed. Uninstall Lightroom, this process will not interfere with your files, catalog, preferences etc. Then reboot your system and open the Adobe Creative Cloud application manager and Lightroom should be available to download. The software is identical but the license process is different.

    Hello friends,
    I have a LR4 trial that has expired. When I downloaded the trial I had a good feeling I would buy so I spent a fair amount of time organizing photos to use LR as well as get some editing done. Of coarse I loved LR and decided to buy the creative cloud membership. Problem is of coarse my 30 day trail has expired. The only way to license LR now is with a serial number. My understanding is that Creative Cloud doesnt give serials.
    Is there a way to keep my LR as installed and activate a license with creative cloud. If not what would be the most pain free way to download it again through the Creative Cloud interface and keep everything as it is now in LR.
    It may be important to note that I cant access LR, as soon as I open the program it prompts me for a S#

    Hey Dale,
    When you have a paid Creative Cloud membership Lightroom will appear in the Adobe Application Manager. If you choose the option to install Lightroom with an expired Lightroom trial currrently installed it will just update that installation so it is licensed as part of Creative Cloud. Any catalogs or work you did with the trial will still be available and it will no longer prompt you to enter a serial number.

    Hello, it seems (according to support) that I have a corrupt version of Lightroom 5 and I need to delete and reinstall.  I actually have a version that is not corrupt but when I try to do a Edit it, such as open in layers or merge to hdr, it will default to the corrupt version.  So bottom line how to I end up with one version that is not corrupt.  I read something about accessing uninstaller in utilities but I don't see Lightroom listed.  I do see Creative Cloud listed.  Is that what I am supposed to uninstall?

    Thanks for your help here but I resolved this problem but created a much larger one by not backing up my Lightroom .lrcat properly. While  working with Adobe support I didn't do a Lightroom backup (my mistake) and I lost the current 2014 edits that were in that catalog. I had to revert to a much older catalog backup.  I was under the (wrong) impression that if I was doing daily backups with Time Machine and Drobo that my catalog was intact.
