  • After updating to Lightroom CC 2015, it will not launch when i click on the icon.

After updating to Lightroom CC 2015, it will not launch when I click on the icon. A window gets up: "__crtCreateSymbolicLinkW" not found in DLL "MSVCR110.dll". Same failure occurs when I start Photoshop CC.
    LR 5.7.1  Starts without Problem.

Have you tried logging out of your CC desktop app, then logging back in again? Quit/Restart won't work, but logging out and back in should. See here: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/sign-in-out-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

  • Lightroom 2.0 CD will not run

I have a brand new Dell Studio 1525 laptop with Vista Home running on the 64 bit.
I have installed Photoshop Elements 4.0, Acrobat, Home Designer Stuite 8.0, Microsoft Programs etc. from CD's and had no problems.
When I place my Lightroom 2.0 cd in the drive and allow it to Autoplay my whole computer freezes, until I finally manually boot it down.
So I turned off autoplay and chose to "Explore" the cd and I could get to the folder with Setup 32 or Setup 64 and by then my computer freezes, before I can click anything.
Tried copying the contents to the desktop, it copied all the way up until 2 files were left then froze, those two files Setup 32 and 64.
So next I tried run as administrator, froze. I tried every trick, safe mode, turning off ALL other programs. It will let me see the contents of the cd then it freezes, thought it was the Flash autoplay that was doing it, but I think I'm wrong. Anyone have any suggestions?
I thought maybe the person I bought it from gave me a fake copy (I bought it off of another website) so I ran virus check, checked the MB on the cd and even downloaded the trial version and registered it with the serial number on my box. Everything checks out just fine. The case cover and sticker on the cd was somewhat lower quality than I think it should be, but I have no other Lightroom case and cd to compare my copy too.
I'm at a lose, I'm new to vista and maybe there is a back door somewhere that I can trick the computer into installing the cd. It makes the noise of the cd drive spinning the cd and does this about twice then I never hear it spin again. But it locks up all of windows completely, even task manager won't fix it. All my other cd's work fine, I plan on trying the cd on another computer that is running windows xp to see if it is just Vista giving me problems. But maybe someone on here could shed some light on my problem.
I have the Trial version download working fine and registered, but someone said that not all the features are there that are on the cd, so I wanted to install the cd to get everything that comes with the program.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
UPDATE: I ran the CD on another computer that is running WINDOWS XP and it worked perfectly. So it is something with VISTA that is giving me trouble.

Thank you, I have been running the Trial 2.1 version with no problems. I just entered my serial # in, since I couldn't get the CD to work I had no other choice but to download the trial and enter the serial. Glad to hear they are the same, I'll just keep my registered trial version download, I just was confused that the CD was 695 MB and the download was only 64MB, I figured something major was missing from the trial version.
But still can't get the CD to run, hopefully I won't have this problem again with another cd, atleast with Lightroom I had the option to download, thanks Adobe!
    Thanks Again Everyone!

  • Firefox will not open on startup and takes over system resorces. Uninstalled. When attempting to reinstall, installer will not run from website, and can not save file to HD. No error message, it just never appears.

After a system reboot, Firefox would not open. I opened the task manager, and saw that Firefox was using alot of memory, and was using 50% of the CPU. I ended the process, and restarted. The situation just repeated several time.
I uninstalled Firefox using uninstall programs from the control panel.
I then tried to run the Firefox installer from the website, it would open the download window, then the "run the install" window. After clicking "Run", the window just closes. So I attempted to just download the install file, and clicked "Save". I tried to save the file to several different locations. A download window would open, and run, but the file would not be there.
I was running 3.6.12, the current version. And that is was I tried to install. After that failed, I also tried to install the beta 4, with the same results.
No error messages have opened, and I have run scans for malware/spyware, and didn't see anything that jumped out as a problem. I am running Win Explorer right now. And it is running fine, but I much prefer my Firefox.

  • Lightroom upgrade 1.1 will not run

I purchased and installed Adobe Lightroom 1.0 on my IBM Thinkpad X31 with 1GB of RAM, running Windows XP. I was able to start the program without problem. I received an Adobe message that I could upgrade to Lightroom 1.1. I downloaded version 1.1 and installed it following the instructions. The upgrade installed without a problem. When I clicked on the Lightroom 1.1 icon I received the following Microsoft error message: lightroom.exe "The application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."
I uninstalled Lightroom 1.1 and then installed the Lightroom 1.1 download without installing version 1.0 first. I got the same error message when I tried to run the newly installed Lightroom 1.1.
There is clearly a problem with Lightroom 1.1. What do you suggest I do at this point?

  • Installation will not run

    Hi,
Yesterday i downloaded the Developer Suite 10g installation pack but when I try to install I just get to one of the first screens where it shows my ORACLE_HOME and the installation path. When I click Next it "thinks" for a few seconds and then shows this screen again.
I try to install on win2000 with a 10g database running.
Anyone who has an idea of what going wrong here?
    /Michael

    Hi,
Download and follow the following patch:
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL40390/oj-98352-1/HPAMDC50PATCH.exe
Once you being prompt to select the installation folder click both the Windows Logo and the R keys of your keyboard to launch the run dialog.
    Type %temp% and press OK.
Locate and open teh HP installation folder which starts with the 7z characters (ex. 7zs1234)
Right click teh top address bar and select Copy address as Text.
Paste the copied path into the 'Extracted path' within the patch dialog and click OK.
The installation should begin, otherwise open the installation folder and try running the Setup.exe file after following the patch.
Please let me know if that helps,
    Shlomi

  • Lightroom 5.7.1 64-bit will not run will not uninstall.

Suddenly Lightroom 5.7.1 will not run. I get:
    Followed by:
However, trying to uninstall just gives:
    ... and it never uninstalls.
I'm getting very frustrated with this. Any ideas?

Have you successfully Signed Out and back in to CC (or do you still have an error message on CC)?
Sign out, Sign in | Creative Cloud Desktop app
If not and you can't I'd guess it's still the CC that is the problem.  There have been similar issues preventing LR starting here on the forum in the past (do a search, it might help)
After that I'd try the Technical Chat if you can't find anything on the CC forum (IMHO the forums are more likely to be able to help but it might take time).

  • Installer will not install .pkg and .mpkg files.

    Help!
    My specs:
Machine Name: Power Mac G4 (AGP graphics)
    Machine Model: PowerMac3,1
    CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (2.8)
    Number Of CPUs: 1
    CPU Speed: 400 MHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 1 MB
    Memory: 640 MB
    Bus Speed: 100 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: 4.2.8f1
I lost my version of iTunes and attempted to re-install via free download off of Apple.com. Unfortunately, regardless of what version I attempt to install, my Installer will not run .pkg or .mpkg files. It bounces, then disappears without any results.
I do not have the Tiger disk - as my father gave me this computer a few years ago without it (as it was his old computer).
I am absolutely distraught without my iTunes and do not know what to do to rectify the situation with my Installer.
    Can anyone help me please???

    Try moving:
Home (or your user name) > Library > Preferences > com.apple.installer.plist
to the desktop and restart your computer. This file saves the settings for that service and may be come corrupt. Removing it from the Preferences folder will result in a new file being created with default settings. If this helps you can trash the file but you may need to reset other things covered by that preference. If it doesn't help you can replace the newly created file with the old one and restart to regain the old settings.
If that doesn't work you will probably have to copy Installer from your backup drive. You absolutely must have a backup, especially if you are going to try to survive without the Tiger discs (which are, strictly speaking, a legal requirement if you want to run Tiger).

I can't say personally since I never used AW, but see if these articles help:

    http://www.cultofmac.com/248546/convert-system-os-9-appleworks-6-files-to-os-x-p ages-files-os-x-tips/
I suggest that you clone your current drive with 10.6.8 to an external drive. If you have any issues after upgrading to Mavericks, you can boot back into 10.6.8.
Both of these applications can be used to create a clone. If you need help creating your clone, let us know.

You have permissions problems on your installation drive. Hold down Ctrl+Alt+Shift while the program starts to reset prefs and configure your scratch drive. And verify your user privileges and file permissions....

What seems to be working for many users (myself included) is to sign out of CC and then sign back in.  After signing back in, LR will run.
