Lightroom CC doesn't start

Hi,
I've just installed Lightroom CC 2015, but when I try to launch it doesn't start. I can see the splashscreen for less than a second, then it closes.
I tried to log-out and log-in from Adobe CC, uninstall and reinstall, checked the rights on the cache folder and also cleaned it, but no action solved the problem.
I also looked for crash reports in the Logs folder, but there is no (... so far, it seems it is not crashing, but it wants to close itself for some reason).
Any idea?

Following steps helped me get going:
Creative Cloud -> Preferences -> Sign Out
Start Lightroom -> Accept Agreement (wasn't showing before) -> Sign In to Creative Cloud from within Lightroom
at this point lightroom.exe process keeps on running and doesn't quit. after waiting for a while I killed it from the task manager
Started Lightroom again and finally got a prompt to upgrade my LR5 catalog
This is the solution that worked for me.  Thanks!
I just want to emphasise that after signing out from CC via the app, DO NOT SIGN IN!
Start Lightroom and then it will prompt you to log into CC, which is now ok to do.

  • I've 2 problems. I wanted to install Lightroom CC. On my desktop, the update of Adobe CC itself fails. On my laptop, Adobe CC updates, Lightroom CC installs, but Lightroom CC doesn't start. It flickers very briefly in Task Manager, but is gone immediately

    After several restarts the Adobe CC update worked on the desktop. Doing the LR CC install on the desktop now.

    Thanks for the reply Rave, but unfortunately that does not address my problem - my PC comfortably exceeds the minimum spec for the applications.
    Of the three onward links from that page -
    (1) "For additional information please see Creative Cloud Help | Missing CC apps from my Creative Cloud Desktop app" is a dead link (>"Sorry, this page is not available")
    (2) "If you have confirmed that your computer meets and exceeds all of the listed System requirements then please see CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed." I had already worked through the 'solutions' on that page, culminating in the (bad) advice in 'Solution 4' which is what has got me into this current mess;
    (3) "If you have already have Download Adobe Creative Cloud application you can use Download Center : Adobe Creative Cloud for your Product Download." isn't helpful as the download links send me back to the CC Desktop app, & it still won't allow me to download the 'CC' or 'CC (2014)' applications.

  • Lightroom doesn't start after entering serial number (PC)

    Hi,
    I've recently upgraded to Lightroom 2 then downloaded 2.4. All went well on my then PC.
    I then got a new computer a while ago and reinstalled Lightroom. Oddly, it asked me for serial numbers every time I started but worked fine.
    Today when I entered the serial numbers (upgrade and original from 1.0), nothing happens. The dialog box closes but Lr doesn't start.
    Any ideas?

    Ah, I should have mentioned that I tried deleting the prefs file as I'd looked at the support database first.
    It doesn't make a difference, unfortunately.
    Could there be another one than the one in Users/[Username]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Lightroom/Preferences?
    Any other ideas?

    Lightroom doesn't start after updating to version 5.6 this morning. (OS X 10.9.4). The splash screen only shows up for a second.

    I have the same problem with LR 5.6 downloaded through CC. Just see the LR splash screen and then a crash.  I now remember had the same problem with LR 5.5 and solved it by downloading directly as the note suggests.  When I get home will do the same with LR 5.6 and it will probably fix.  Really disappointing that the bug is still there.

    I have exactly the same problem. I was running on a 32 bit system without any problems, but after instaling Win7 in 64 bit, this is the result. Sometimes an error message appears when starting Lightroom, saying the application crashed, but most of the time it just doesn't start.

    If there is no loading bar, it's usually a problem with a third party kext file in OS X itself.
    You can press the power button down to force a hardware shutdown, then reboot holding the shift key down on a wired or built in keyboard, this will disable them and you go around and update your third party software.
    Gray, Blue or White screen at boot, w/spinner/progress bar
    Also take this time to backup your users files off the machine if possible.

  • Chromium doesn't start and suspend, shutdown don't work occassionally

    I have this problem on my laptop but since chromium doesn't start on my desktop either, I don't think it's specific to laptops.
    When I try to start chromium in a terminal, I get a blank window (I can tell because I use spectrwm):

    I temporarily resorted to using Firefox instead, but at times it just freezes up while opening some pages. After that point, even killing firefox doesn't help: the system load level keeps on rising. I used pidof to check if firefox is still running, but I had no output from pidof. After having firefox to freeze, shutdown, suspend, etc don't work. The laptop goes to a black screen state, but the power LED remains on indefinitely.
    These might be two separate issues, but they started together on my laptop.

    It started happening after upgrade:

    I was wondering if it has anything to do with some X-related upgrades:

    I tried to downgrade chromimu to 40.0.2214.94-1 and it didn't help. I tried to downgrade nvidia, xorg-server and xorg-server-devel to previous versions, when everything worked and X chouldn't start.
    Other observations are that if I start chromium, the ps command hangs and I have to reboot the system to be able to use ps command again.

    It's worth mentioning that I also run spectrwm, like SgrA, however i don't have other issues with freezing on shutdown etc.

  • Apple logo comes up but ipod doesn't start

    When I turn on the device the Apple logo comes up but the ipod doesn't start and go to the menus it just stays with the logo. When I hold down the play/pause on the click wheel to put it to sleep a symbol of a triangle with an exclamation point in the center comes up along with "www.apple.com/support/ipod." I tried rebooting it with Menu/select but nothing happens.

    Unfortunately, on a "classic" iPod that uses a hard drive for storage, the most likely cause is a faulty hard drive.
    You can try putting the iPod into Disk Mode

    If that works, connect it to the computer and run iTunes.  iTunes may prompt you to do a Restore.  This will erase the iPod, re-install its software, and set it to default settings.  If the cause is data corruption or a software issue (and the hard drive has no physical problem), the Restore should fix it.

    Update firefox, it asked me to update flash, I tried to update flash but it said I had to close firefox. A box came up and said the Flash install would continue when I closed firefox. I closed all firefox windows and no update of flash occurred. I tried relaunching firefox but got the "Doesn't start when starting as administrator. I rebooted the system, no improvement. I tried to run firefox as administrator and got the same message. Either I find a fix or I won't be able to use firefox and will have to go back to ie.

  • RT app doesn't start on power-up or re-boot

    Hi Again, Gang:
    This one is stumping me.  I've finished a cRIO application, and am now in the process of getting it ready for distribution.  The RT part of the app runs fine when I upload it from the host PC.  When I set the app to run at startup from NV RAM, it doesn't run.  Well, actually, to make matters worse--it DID run ONCE!  This morning I powered the cRIO, then did other things for a while.  I later looked at the unit and saw the user LED was flashing the sequence that says it's working.
    I've read through the troubleshooting stuff on the web site.  I've FTPd into the box and it looks like it's set up right.  The dip switches are all off.  I've waited for 10 mins to see if comes up after a while.  I've experimented with the FPGA upload settings to see if that's the issue.  (The RT won't get very far if the FPGA doesn't start)  Is it possible that something with the shared variable engine is holding it up?
    I'm about out of ideas.  I really hope that someone can give me some!

     Have you got any solutions. it seems there some bugs in lv2010. we are facing similar problems. some times every thing works but after restart it shows some error(blinking of yellow LED on RT).some time variable are not being published .i am working with mutltiple target in a single project. i have tried all options like auto deploy variable(ON/OFF)
    seperate libraries for each target eventhough applications is similar for all targets. Just shareing my experience(pain)
