Lightroom cc will not install because of vcredist
I'm trying to install LR CC, but the installation fails. The reason is that vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe won't install. I followed Adobe's suggestion of downloading these executables from Microsoft, but the installation from those failed. I checked Control Panel, and they are both installed. So, I unpacked one of the executables and tried to install from the msi program. That told me what is going on: Adobe's version is older than the one already on my computer (Adobe has packaged the 2010 versions), and current versions of windows won't allow overwriting the newer with the older.
I clearly have the functions, as LR 5.7 runs just fine.
It's impossible to get through to Adobe now; the phone support is out, and the chat line just keeps telling me that they are busy.
Does anyone know a way to solve this?

In case anyone else has this problem: Adobe support answered the question. All I had to do was uninstall the old versions of the two distributables via control panel and reboot. LR CC came right up after that.

One thing is the memory, and another thing is the hard disk space. You are telling me that you have 200 GB of free space on the hard disk, but the App Store is telling you that you have to install 2 GB of memory or more on your Mac if you want to upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.
First of all, open > About this Mac > More Info, and copy "Model Identifier" here, so we can know what Mac you have got and how much memory you can install.
We recommend to buy the memory in OWC or Crucial (Crucial is cheaper and offers the same compatibility warranty as OWC) because you won't probably have any problem with the memory you buy there -
I currently have iPhoto 8.1.2 on my macbook pro and am trying to update to the latest version. I have had to work backward, but I can only get back to 9.1, which will not install because it says I need at least 9.0 to install it. Is 9.0 available? Will I need to go back even further? Thanks
Upgrading from iPhoto 8 to iPhoto 9 requires a purchase. There are two ways to get to iPhoto 9:
1 - purchase a copy of the iLife 11 disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com or eBay.com.
2 - if your MBP meets the requirements upgrade you system for free to Mavericks. Then you can purchase the latest iPhoto version, 9.5.1, from the App Store.

I have windows 7 64 bit but the new itunes will not install because it can't find itunes64.msi. I have searched evertwhere on my pc. In addition, I can't uninstall the itunes and reinstall for the same reason. I can't upgrade for my icloud account.
Try the following steps:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:

Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.

Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
iTunes
QuickTime

3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch -
Since updating because it says i need itunes 11 however it will not install because i need a newer version of mac os, any ideas how to get round this ?

Lightroom CC will not install!
I am using the Creative Cloud Packager to build individual Adobe packages for installation through SCCM on Dell PC's. I have successfully built and deployed quite a few packages including Photoshop, InDesign, Fireworks, and Bridge, but for some reason the Lightroom package will not install.
We have an enterprise license and I am using the same procedure I used for all of the other packages. The Lightroom installation media downloads and the package is successfully built but running the .exe or the .msi is not successful. When the installer is executed, it brings up the normal dialogue boxes and appears to be working. However, after a few minutes the box goes away with no error message and nothing is installed.
The most frustrating part is the lack of log files, I found the page pointing to the Common Files folder but there is no Adobe folder in there. I have tried installing and running the CC Packager on two different machines with the same result. I also tried installing Photoshop CC first to see if maybe it was a prerequisite for Lightroom but the result was the same. Any advice?Hi Stephen,
Adobe Lightroom goes to exception folder once a package is created. You would need to install Adobe lightroom under exception folder using ExceptionDeployer.exe (WIN).

Under Windows 7 you will want to use the Programs and Features Control Panel to remove your installation. I would recommend verifying that Photoshop Lightroom is removed from the list of installed applications. -

Seems to be a somewhat common problem (by google search) for Adobe and Microsoft programs, but nothing on FMLE...
Everything I have tried (from google'd suggestions) has not worked.
I suspect that the installer is trying to install to an invalid path but I cannot find it in the registry or figure out why the error. The program was previously installed and working, but after having some issues I tried to re-install and find myself here!
Any help is greatly appreciated.

It would appear previous version could not be uninstalled because of invalid path {somehow over time windows had re-assigned drive letters such that previous location of install on external hard drive F: (as in registry), was now pointing to DVD drive F: and I assume generated the 1324 error, path has invalid character}.
Used Revo Uninstaller to clear all traces of former install and "voila", fresh install of FMLE proceeded successfully.
Hope this helps others with this error code. -
This is not Apple like, the installer for AirPort Utility 5.6 for Mac OS X Lion
will not install because it reports 10.8 is not supported. So how do I configure my older Airport ExpressAirPort 5.6 won't install under Mountain Lion, but it will run once it is.
Here are the basic steps to install version 5.6 under Mountain Lion using CharlesSoft's Pacifist:
If you haven't already download the AirPort Utility disk image file directly from Apple Support Download
Place the resultant AirPortUtility56.dmg file onto your Mac's Desktop.
Run Pacifist.
Click on the Open Package option. Find the disk image file that you just placed on your desktop, and then, click on Open.
The utility is located as follows: Contents of AirPortUtility56.dmg > Contents of AirPortUtility56.pkg > Contents of AirPortUtility56Lion.pkg > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility 5.6.app
Drag AirPort Utility 5.6.app to your Mac's /Applications/Utilities folder.
You can now run the AirPort Utility from the Utilities folder. -

Administrator will not install because it wont let me?
The only problem I am seeing this happen is trying to install Adobe Air I get the following
"An error ocurred while installing Adobe Air. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator."
I am admin account so I don't understand why it will not install. I tried other Adobe programs like ADobe Flash and Reader and they installed fine.
I even tried uninstalling it through Utilities>Uninstall Adobe Air but give me an error.
I am thinking this is now admin thing but an Adobe Air problem.

Unless you are trying to install on an external hard drive that actually has been used for Time Machine backups, this is usually caused by having a folder named "Backups.backupd" on your hard drive somewhere. It may be at the root level of the hard drive, but may also be elsewhere. Try searching for it, and then delete it. (You shouldn't need it.)

Hello, I have uninstalled all my apple files except those for QuickTime because it needs QuickTime.msi. Installing iTunes fails for the same reason. I have searched all of my C Drive and it does not exist. My laptop was originally running Vista and perhaps upgrading to Windows 7 is somehow involved? Can anybody put me on the right track?
This problem can often be fixed with the Microsoft Insaller cleanup utility.
Unfortunately The Microsoft Installer Cleanup utility has been with drawn by Microsoft because of compatibility issues with Microsoft Office so you will need to find a copy elsewhere – the installer is msicuu2.exe. You need version 3.

Check for malware before installing it.
To run the program – All Programs>>Windows Install
You may need to use "Run as Adminsitrator" if you get an error trying to run it.
I would try to uninstall all iTunes related programs using this method:

This will allow you to find which ones will not uninstall. Then use the Cleanup utilty to remove those programs
Then try installing iTunes again. -
What can I do about driver updates that will not install because of an "unknown error".
I have an HP p6530 Pavilion that is taking a while to startup. Not real long but longer then it should. I tried to install driver updates from Intel for the Chipset and RAID but when I download and install it will not finish the install because of an "unknown error" and then setup exits. I could really use advice from anyone that can help.
Have you tried to disable your virus protection and any running programs in the system tray? Turn off any programs that are not necessary before you run the updates. Make sure you run the updates as administrator (right click on the driver install program and click on run as administrator).
