  • Trial of Lightroom 4 won't open... help!

I just downloaded the trial of lightroom 4. It fully downloaded & didn't say anything about errors but now it won't open... need help!

Moving this discussion to the Photoshop Lightroom forum.  You may also want to reference Error "Unable to start correctly - 0Xc00007b" - http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/error-unable-start-correctly-0xc00007b.html.

  • My Adobe Lightroom 3 won't open.

I installed Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 on my computer last year. It downloaded without any problem. Only used it a couple of times. Later on when I went to use it is would not open. I decided to uninstall it and reinstall it last week. Had to do it at least 5 times. At first it wouldn't intall. It finally did, but it still won't open. I'm getting the message "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 64 bit has stopped working. A problem casued the program to stop working correctly " Can someone tell me why this might be happening? Any solutions to fix the problem would be very welcome. Thank you very much.

Hello,I once tried a trial version of Lightroom and decided to buy lightroom 3.I've search on forums and even chat with Adobe with no answer to my problem.I download the program and it's working fine on my boyfriend's side.(We are two adminstraters on my computer)When I clic to open lightroom a window appears "Lightroom-ouverture de cataloque:DSC_0738.NEF.lrcat" and I have another window at the same time from microsoft ..error...The letters and numbers I have are..
    10.0.40219.325
    appVer:3.6.0.10
    offset:0008d6fd
    ModName:msvcr100.dll
Then the program closed...I found the .lrcat file, double clic and LR still doesn't open.I saw on a french forum that I have to rename the cataloq but I still don't know how to do that.I started using a computer only five years ago and I'm not very good but I love photography and I'm sure lightroom would be fun for me.
I spend hours trying to figure it out and I don't know what to do ...I saw an answer on the forum of Adobe saying to click on the control button and open the program at the same time ...didn't work....
Is it possible that when I had the trial version I've created a catalog and this catalog(that no longer exists)gets in the new program so I can't open it anymore....I don't know what to do anymore...please can someone help me...thank you           Gisele

  • Lightroom CC won't open after install

I have a CC subscription, and I have just installed the new update for Lightroom CC.  It shows that it is installed, and "up to date" in the CC window, but it won't open.  Do I need to uninstall Lightroom 5 first?

    This works:
Start LR5 and sign out for sync with LR mobile (iPad en iPhone signout automatic)
Start Photoshop CC and sign out by " help"
Now go to Creative Cloud app and click on LR CC 2015. See what happens: it is working. Good luck everybody.

  • Lightroom CC won't open after installation

CC update installed new version of Lightroom today, but it won't open.  Not even by trying to run the lightroom.exe file directly.  Bridge and PS work properly.
    Windows 8.1, i7 processor, 16gb ram, 250gb ssd drive.
Anyone else having this problem?  I don't want to try it on my laptop until I get this issue taken care of.
    Thanks,
    Gary E

I am still having the same problem. Log-ou/log-in doesn't solve it. I have to uninstall and re-install Lightroom CC to be able to start Lightroom CC. That's ridiculous. Can't reach Support since they are only open in office hours and in the odd situation I can call, I end up in an endless queue. No e-mail contact address?

  • Lightroom 2 won't open

My Lightroom 2 has been working like a champ and suddenly won't open. Sez to contact the manufacturer. Tried looking up how to uninstall and Adobe has nothing. Found on a website to just trash the application. Did that. Closed all apps. Restarted the computer. Ran MacKeeper. Restarted again. Tried reinstalling from disk but it sez "An error has occured. Contact the manufacturer." WTF? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

In the directory where the catalog upon which you are currently opening, is a file with the catalog name and a .LOCK extension. This file is preventing LR from opening with the desired catalog.  It was likely left behind after an abnormal shutdown of Lightroom.
Locate this file and delete it.
Lightroom should open the catalog normally afterwards.

  • Lightroom 4 won't open.

Lightroom 64-bit on Windows 8.1 won't open. I get the following error message: "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application even log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail." Problem is, the sxstrace.exe tool won't open either. My copy of PSE Elements 11 won't open either. I haven't made any changes to my system recently so I don't know what's going on - it's extremely frustrating because my work is backing up. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Geoff ~ Thanks for the reply. The computer I'm having the problem with is my iMac using OS 10.9.4. I purchased Lightroom in 2008 and it was Version 2. Since then I upgraded (can't remember when) to Version 4.4. It's worked perfect up until earlier this month. I had used it a few days and then went to open it and it started normally and then the spinning wheel comes up and nothing happens - no windows open telling me there's a problem. If I open the Force Quit window it says that Lightroom "is not respoonding". I'm wondering it I uninstall it and then install the Version 2 CD can I then just upgrade it from the link you sent me?
OK.... not to make this long but before I was going to send the above reply I thought I'd try going to the link you sent and try and upgrade what I have now. Well...... IT WORKED! I've opened Lightroom twice so, as of now, problem solved. Thanks!
P.S. Do you l live in New Zealand? Got to travel there in my younger days surfing and playing. I dream of going back someday. Such an amazing country!

  • Lightroom program won't open with mavericks

Help! Installed and updated yet won't open even if i drag an image folder to its desktop icon

9.2.3 is not compatible with Mavericks.  You'll need to go to the App Store and download the iPhyoto 9.5 version.  It will be free. Move your current iPhoto version to the Trash bin and try the App Store again.

  • Image in Lightroom 4 won't open in Silver Efex Pro 2.

I just downloaded an upgrade version of Lightroom 4. Silver Efex Pro 2 is listed in the "Edit in" menu but does not open when I click on the link. I can open Silver Efex separatelly, but no image is included. Any suggestions?

This is a documented issue. It has been fixed in the LR 4.1 RC available for Adobe Labs. If you are unwilling to use the Release Candidate, LR 4.1 official should be along soon.
In addition, Silver Efex has released an update in the last thirty days or so you should probably download.

  • Adobe Lightroom app won't open

I signed up for adobe cloud after my free trial of lightroom expired.  I downloaded Lightroom and Photoshop and can not get either one to open.  I can find the app on my computer, but when I try to open lightroom it goes back to the free trial start up tab asking if I want to buy lightroom?  How can I bypass that notice and start lightroom now that it is installed?

Mtnlivin please uninstall your current installation of Photoshop Lightroom.  Once removed then please reinstall through the Creative Cloud Desktop application.  You can find more details at Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html.

  • Photoshop CS6 & Lightroom 4 won't open or save files after iMac update 11/2013

My photoshop CS6 has crashed a few times, and it wont open any files nor save them, the same goes for my lightroom 4 & 5. how can this be fixed. I am a mamber of adobe and pay monthly for both my programs. This started after my iMac updated in November 2013. I am a photogrpher and need this fixed asap. Thank you!

In addition to writing up a request for the ability to repair an installation, ask that the updater be made more robust - e.g., capable of fully updating no matter what the state of existing files.
Also make a mental note to be more careful about fooling around with the files inside the Photoshop installation area.
Most folks don't realize that if they change anything other than in the plug-ins directory that they are chancing making future updates fail as well.  Even Adobe themselves at some times have suggested changing files to work around problems.  But as you point out, the cloud updater ought to be more resilient.

  • Lightroom 4 won't open: Error 0xc000007b

Solution for Error 0xc000007b in Lightroom 4.4 with Windows 7 64 bit:
I have been having trouble with being able to load in Lightroom 4.4 on Windows 7 64 bit on a few occasions in the past few months, and I found a very quick and simple fix if you are in my situation.  I hope this works for you.
If you are receiving the 0xc000007b error immediately when you start Lightroom then, most likely you are missing a msvcr100.dll file.  If you don't have, or can't locate a  msvcr100.dll file on one of your hard drives, then go to the following link:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/error-unable-start-correctly-0xc00007b/_jcr_content/ma in-pars/procedure/proc_par/step_0/step_par/download/file.res/Lightroom_64-Bit_DLLs.zip
Download the zip file with two DLL files in it. The two files included are a msvcr80.dll and a msvcr100.dll
IT has been my experience that I ahve only needed the msvcr100.dll file. Once you have extracted the files from the ZIP file, copy the msvcr100.dll from that folder and do the following procedure:
Go to Start menu / all programs / right click on the Adobe Lightroom 4 icon at the top of your list of programs / left click on the "open file location" option / paste the msvcr100.dll file into that Lightrooom application folder / close it out and you should be ready to go!  Open Lightroom and see how it goes.
It's like Hooked On Phonics, "works for me!"  I have had to do this on two separate occasions and both times I coulld never seem to find the right forum answers that make the problem solving easy, I finally found this solution deep in a discussion after MUCH research, so my hope is to post this and hopefully this will work for you and make your day.  (...it did mine!)

  • Lightroom CC won't open on iMac

I downloaded Lightroom CC to my 6 year old mac book and 2 year old iMac. Macbook works. On iMac lightroom wont open. When you click the icon for it the startup window appears then just disappears.
Have uninstalled and reinstalled and same problem.
Lightroom 5 works perfect. Please help

SIgn out of Creative Cloud using the CC App, then sign back in. Adobe has posted a help file describing the fix:
CC applications close immediately after launch
    Hope that helps!

  • Lightroom CC won't open. Flash screen flashes, but that's it. Uninstalled and reinstalled (with CC) but got the same result.

I installed Lightroom CC with CC App on Macbook running Yosemite 10.10.3. It says it's installed, but attempts to open it get only a momentary view of the flash screen, then nothing. I uninstalled and reinstalled but get the same result.

I can confirm that sign out of Creative Cloud, and sign back in works, as the post above says.
To Adobe: Creative Cloud needs to die horrible death. Please bring back regular licensing of your products. CC has been nothing but nightmare.
