I recently upgraded my MacPro 10.4 to 10.5.6. When I open Lightroom 1.1 it will only stay open for 3 to 5 seconds then shuts down. I have 1.1 on my MacBook which has 10.5.6 and never have a problem. Any ideas on how to correc

Can't really say, but I see this occurring on all of my Macs since the 10.8.2 update and keep reading about it at several other Mac user boards.
Bottom line: it's a general problem, but more of an inconvenience, than a serious problem. Probably will be solved with the next update.

This has happend twice to me in the past 12 hours since I just updated to iOS 7.0.2, but did not happen after I updated to iOS 7
Last night the operating system crashed to the Apple symbol (a reset) when browsing the settings menu.
Perhaps it's a bug with the movement tracking? Seems to be connected with sudden movements (I noticed it shut off when I quickly lifted the phone up to look at the screen) - perhaps the background parallax is glitching the system to a software reset? If my problem persists I may temproarily disable the parallax to see if that mitigates the resets.
To be clear, the update to iOS 7 didn't precipitate this problem, and I updated to iOS & on the day of its release (9/18).
This used to happen to me sporadically on my iphone 4s on iOS6, usually when my battery was anywhere at 40% to 5% - though I suspect that was because I was due to re-set the battery by completely draining it.
Is anyone else having this issue with their iPhone 4S?
I'm using a Verizon iPhone 4s 64 GB, still in excellent condition.

Is anyone else having Config error 16 issue when trying to start PSE 12 or Premier Elements 12 after the Mac upgrade to OS X Yosemite 10.10 on iMac. I have had a number of issues with software and things after upgrading to OS X Yosemite 10.10 and even 10.10.1. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both PSE 12 and Premier Elements 12 a number of times and everything goes fine until its ready to launch and then you get an error message. Numerous uninstalled and reinstalls don't removing the problem. Strangely enough PSE 11 still appears to boot up and I never owned Premier Elements 11 so I don't know if it will start. I thought with Apple dropping its Apeture software and greater integration of iPhoto and Apeture files into Lightroom 5.7 all would be harmonious between these two players. Im not sure where Adobe wants us to go it recently removed the plugin to allow you to update files from LR to Adobe Revel, whats up with that. I now own two version of Adobe software that no longer work with my Mac and now way of uploading pictures from Lightroom to Revel. Needless to say I am pretty reluctant to sign on to a subscription of Creative Cloud with long term financial obligations when I can't even get my current Adobe software to work independently much less integrate with Lightroom. Frustrated with it all!

Get rid of 'put disks to sleep when possible' and you may see a dramatic improvement (not necessarily a cure).
That specific problem is a multiple-Processor (including graphics processor) problem, where one of the processors lost track of whether it should be responding to interrupts. You may have a Hardware problem.

Forms closes abruptly after database upgrade to 10g

I recently upgraded my Oracle EBS 11.5.9 database tier from 8.1.7.4 to 10.2.0.5 by following necessary steps and required patches, now my database has been upgraded and I applied autoconfig on both database tier and application tier. Now after I logon to the applications and after choosing resposibilty the form suddenly closes down. I checked in the forms server log file. It just says : Abnormal Termination.
Could somebody help me out on this.

Have you checked activity monitor to see if any apps or processes are takin up a large percentage of the CPU?

IPhoto automatically shuts down after attempted upgrade

I have the latest version of iPhoto, but when I try to open it, I get the following message:
The photo library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto.
Your photo library will not be readable by previous versions of iPhoto after the upgrade. The upgrade process for very large libraries may take an hour or more to complete.
When I hit "upgrade," it just shuts down. No upgrade. No iPhoto.
Anything I can do?

As a test dpress and hold the option key while launching iPhoto and create a new test library - import a few photos into this test library and report back with the results of this test

ITunes "eats" memory and closes down after 4 hours use

iTunes plays alright about 4 hours, then it closes down and need a restart.
I have watched iStat and notice that free memory shrinks as iTunes plays.
It seems like iTunes is building up a buffer/file and when this file is bigger then the memory can hold - it crashes?
Do anyone know what this problem is and medicine?

DriveReadySeekComplete errors are either:
- IDE controler failure
- Bad cables
- Bad harddisk
Out of these 3, the last one sounds the most reasonable with nowadays harddrives. And yes, your system will hang when all your important processes are hanging while trying to do disk I/O.
What windows does is switching back to PIO mode and never report anything, until you hit the nice BSOD telling you to replace the floppydisk in drive C...

Elements closes down after opening picture

Working still with XP, updated my PS-Elements 11, plent free space on my HD's
As soon as I try to open any picture Elements closes down completely.

You say you have updated "my PS-Elements 11". Does this mean you now have PSE 13? If so then PSE13 is not officially supported on Windows XP.
Please clarify exactly your current version of PSE.

Upgraded & now Lightroom closes automatically after splash screen

I was using the Lightroom5 Trial version to explore moving from Aperture, successfully for 9 days when I decided to upgrade to LightroomCC and now nothing works.
I have tried logging out of CC and logging back in (yes, I am sure I did this correctly via Preferences)
I have uninstalled Lightroom5 (then logging out of CC and back in again)
I have tried uninstalling & reinstalling Lightroom CC
I have tried uninstalling & reinstalling Adobe CC & Lightroom CC. Again.
I have tried doing all this again & restarting my computer.
I have tried renaming the SLCache folder (SLStore folder not found)
I have deleted the contents of that folder
I have tried signing out of CC and opening Lightroom directly (I was briefly asked to sign in & accept terms but the Lightroom did not follow)
Seriously. How can I get Lightroom to launch again? Trying to reach live chat through Adobe support sends me in a viscous loop that keeps resulting in the same set of instructions that does not work.

All suggestions & feedback greatly appreciated (except the comments along the lines of logging off & logging in to Creative Cloud worked for you).

"C:\ProgramData\Adobe" folder may be hidden by default. you can search for the slstore folder and then open folder location.
this didn't help me one bit, and I've tried about as many things you have just to get the CC version to work.
I resorted to finding the download for 5.7 on adobe site and going back to the older version until the issues get sorted out.

Lightroom cannot read external harddrive after MAC upgrade

IMac randomly shuts down after Leopard Upgrade

My wife's iMac randomly shuts down since we installed Leopard. It wasn't doing this before the Leopard upgrade.
It takes about 5 mins. of inactivity after the machine enters sleep mode, then it shuts down. We've searched the Discussions but have yet to see an answer to our question. Nothing but an iSight is plugged in to the machine. Any suggestions?

Same problem with random shut downs that get more and more frequent making the computer unusable. Took to Apple Store where they did not recognise the problem - tried replacing RAM then power cable then power supply. Said problem was fixed but started to recur within a short time of using it back home. Used install discs to reinstall the original operating system (Mac OS X 10.5.2) and the problem resolved - on upgrading to Mac OS X 10.5.8 the problem immediately recurred. Have gone back to 10.5.2 now and all seems okay.
Seems strange that there are so many postings about this and Apple Store (Genius staffseem to be unaware of it as a problem).

CPU and GPU slow down after system upgrade

Ok, I can't find anything similar to the question I have...but this forum goes on forever
As my system specs appear below, my machine was running quite comfortably a week ago, with same setup...minus the acrylic case and second 120GB hard drive.
At that stage I had "nomal" benchmarking scores 3dmark03 - 5850, Aquamark3 41.000, PC mark 2002 - cpu7020 mem8438 hdd1050.
Life was good and I loved my system
Then I decided it would be cool to upgrade to an acrylic case (which has better cooling with 3 fans) and a second 120 GB HDD to make a striped raid array.
My first concern was the raid Array. I was carefull to buy the exact same seagate hard drive, size etc. the original was only a month old anyway. The second was to use the intel southbridge chip for SATA RAID or the Promise controller? After researching these forums I decided to go with the Intel as it has more possible bandwidth and doesn't sit on the PCI bus.
I got the new case and wearing those stupid white gloves, proceeded to move the components over and trash my "old" metal case.
The windows NTFS format (full) flew by in 30 seconds and I was really impressed.
Once windows xp and all it's drivers and updates were installed, incl sound and graphics etc. I did a 3Dmark 2001 test before upgrading to Dx9...what a bad mark! 3Dmark2001SE - 9950 (terrible for this system).
I thought it was a DX problem...so I installed Dx9
Then opened that corecenter program (the old one, the one that doesn't crash...)
and my CPU was about 5c hotter than usual, it was running at 40-42c (I have standard intel cooling fan). It went up to 55 at times when running PC mark 2002.
This didn't concern me too much a the system was stable at 32-34c and the northbridge read 60c (but we all know that's not true , more like 35ish.
My PC mark 2002 is now cpu4200 - mem4800 - hdd1800
(at least the HDD improved!) LOL
I ran Aquamark3 next...29,900 (ouch!)
Previously my CPU was 8,700 and GPU was 5300
now the CPU read 4400 and the GPU 4600
I don't really notice the speed loss when working, but games and benchmarks tell a different story.
So, My question: What has happened? Why is my CPU power cut in half? and the graphics card slightly slower? The memory speed stayed the same and the HDD speed improved....not a worthwhile upgrade IMO
What went wrong?
Here are my theories.
1) The CPU and system case is getting too hot
Does the CPU "throttle" when it overheats? this could be the reason.
Also both HDD get really hot and the fan in front blows air over them, this hot air could be going over the CPU or GPU. Maybe get 2 HDD coolers?
should I buy a better CPU cooler like the Thermaltake spark7+ ?
2) The PSU does not have enough watts
I couldn't find traces of voltage lack or spikes...but it could still be a problem
3) The RAID0 array is a strain on the CPU and chipset
I'm not sure about this.
My appologies for the lengthy thread, but I wanted to be sure that anyone trying to figure this out had as much info as possible

I'm using Intel RAID and it works perfectly, no extra CPU usage is shown and it's pleasantly fast!
And Install latest Intel INF updates and Application Accelerator from Intel site. That's what I'm using, and works fine.

ever since upgrading from Server 2012 X64 to Server 2012 R2 X64 my dns server keeps shutting down every several minutes before having to do a restart. When viewing the event log this is all I see..

I'm going crazy, I've upgraded my Server 2012 Standard to Server 2012 R2 Standard and now my DNS server keeps crashing since the in place upgrade. I have finally narrowed it down to it only crashes after several minutes if I load the data from
a file instead of the registry. As a test I:
-1- killed all my dns data,
-2- uninstalled the dns server role
-3- deleted the /windows/system32/dns directory
-4- reinstalled the DNS server role
-5- used the wizard to create a DNS server and a forward zone.
everything works okay, no crashes, then I change the advanced propertied of the DNS server to load from file, restart the DNS server and once again it crashes every 2 minutes..
Please help, this is killing me..
