Lightroom Collapsible actions in panel.

This is driving me nuts.... Somewhere in Lightroom 1.0 I was able to set a preference for the side panels where only one collapsible action was open at a time. To click on another arrow would automatically close the open one. Anyone out there use this function? I am currently using Lightroom 2.0 and wonder if can be set on this version. Thanks.

Lightroom Export Action and Automator

Hi. Have an interesting anamoly that I hope someone an explain to me. I am trying to leverage Adobe Lightroom's export preset post-processing option to help in importing photos into iPhoto (where I can make easy use of the .mac photocasts). I created an Automator workflow comprised of the following actions: 1) Get Specified Finder items (with the export folder from Lightroom selected) 2) Get Folder Contents 3) Import Photos into iPhoto (with the delete source option selected).
I placed the Automator app, named "Import to iPhoto" into the Lightroom "Export Actions" folder and selected it in the post-processing drop down in my export preset. When exporting from this preset, the file(s) are exported as expected, however, for some reason the Automator action imports duplicate files into iPhoto for each photo exported. If the photos are exported separately without the post-processing export action, and then the Automator action is run manually, there are no duplicate files imported. Does anybody have any ideas what might be occuring here?

Actions Wizard Panel missing actions

How do I get the Action Wizard Panel to show recently created actions? Mine only shows the 6 default actions that come with acrobat. The actions I created are listed at the very top in the "manage actions" dropdown, but they do not display, and therefore, I do not seem to be able to run them! Has anyone encountered this before? Windows 7, Acrobat XI Pro. I've updated acrobat, repaired the installation, and checked that it is the most current version. What am I missing? Thanks!

Guess I'll answer my own question before I forget how to navigate to the forums. It may not be a total answer, but in a total fluke-move, I found out it appears to have something to do with screen real estate: if I close all my panels, and open ONLY the actions wizard, the actions are all listed. Maybe the panel populates actions from the middle one out ... or something.

Lightroom 4 Help Search Panel

When I go to Help in Lightroom 4 the search panel only has references to Photoshop Elements and not Lightroom. Is that normal. The Lightroom help is in the panel to the right but how do I search in it?

My Lightroom 4 Develop module panel is no longer in color.

My Lightroom 4 Develop module panel is no longer in color (as in the temp/tint, etc.) are all black and white. How do I fix this? I heard it is because I updated my mac software - but why would that change the color of the tools in lightroom 4??

The issue occurs after upgrading to OS X Mavericks.

Fixed in Lightroom 5.2 and later (current version is 5.6).
The only fix is to pay to upgrade to Lightroom 5.

In the far upper right of the Actions panel is a small menu icon. That includes the option for the menu-based route to turning the hidden characters on and off in case it ever happens again and you can't find this posting to help recall it.

Lightroom export actions crashes photoshop

This is a problem that has eluded me for a while. Im running Lightroom 3 and photoshop cs5 (both have the latest updates) . Now I've created droplets that run various actions. In lightroom I export images and use export actions dialog box to have lightroom run the droplet.
However now I get a "photoshop cs5 has stopped responding" and a "droplets can not communicate with photoshop.
Im running windows 7 64bit
Things I've tried
restarting both programs
rebooting the computer
running lightroom and photoshop as an admin
recreating the droplets and telling windows to run the droplets as an admin
Any help would be appreciated!!

Hide actions from panel

I have a batch of actions which are called from other actions and I would like a way to hide these from showing in the panel.

You can collapse actions sets to hide the actions within so navigating the Action palette is easier. Its not possible to hide individual actions within actions and action sets can not be nested. Navigating the Action palette can be tedious. However it much easier than navigating scripts. If you have a large collections of scripts. Photoshop menu File>Scripts>Large Script List... Photoshop only scroll that large list a single item at a time. So one wind up adding even more actions that use scripts into the Action Palette crowing the Actions palette further. For the Action palette is easier to navigate the scripts.

Lightroom Navigation and Develop panels are completely absent on first opening the program

I just downloaded Lightroom 5 from Creative Cloud onto my MacBook Air laptop, and I’m stymied. When I opened the application for the first time, neither the navigation panel on the left nor the development panel on the right appeared, and there is no hint of those panels existing. Also, the warning "An error occurred when attempting to change modules” appeared when I opened the program for the first time. Both issues persist each time I open Lightroom - so I'm completely unable to import photos or get started. I’ve search the web for fixes and tried many suggestions but nothing has changed either of the problems above. Also, in Creative Cloud, if I try to uninstall Lightroom, the message appears "Uninstall Unavailable" and there is no way to uninstall the program through the Utilities. By the way, I use Lightroom routinely on another computer, so I am quite familiar with the program. Help!!

Problem solved by following these instructions (from another forum):
Solution 5: Set correct permissions on Lightroom folder inside Application Support
The Lightroom folder inside Application Support could have the wrong permissions preventing Lightroom from writing to it which can cause this error.
Navigate to the following folder: /Users/[user name]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom
Highlight the Lightroom folder and chose File > Get Information
Under Sharing & Permission, verify that your have Read & Write Privileges. If not, click the padlock icon at the lower right, enter your password when prompted, then click the Read only entry and select Read & Write.

Lightroom & CS actions

Hi all
It would be nice for the workflow not to use photoshop unless you want to perform advanced editing that only it can do. For common task like sharpening & blending using third party plugin's like Noise Ninja & DRI pro it would be great if these would or could be run from within LR & not use CS at all.
Is this planned or what do you all think. I believe it was dicussed prior to the release version in the beta forums but things have now moved on or moving on so any new thoughts.

Such Third party actions would have to be rewritten for LR. The SDK has yet to be published, so it will be a while. Rumor has it that their will be a NN Module.
If you own NN Pro you can do a pointer to it in Export Action Folder now, for Export use.

Actions Panel does not open CS6 Flash Pro

When I open Window->Actions, the Action Panel doesn't open. I really need it to develop this app. According to

Thank you for answering my question. When I follow your directions, I still don't see the Actions Menu. According to
http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/actions-actions-panel.html it should appear in the middle in the Essentials Workspace layout. All I get are the following tabs [color-swatches] and [Align-Info-Transform] and [Code Snippets-Components-Motions Presets] and [Project] in the middle section. With [Properties-Library-Actions] on the left. [Timeline-Motion Editor] on the bottom. And the [.fla and .as] open in the top left.
I can't find the Actions Menu. The only reason that I know that the Actions Menu exists is that I had to work on another guys PC for a morning, and there is was! I is a bug help with older ActionScript 1/2 projects.

Help - Tech Support Lost my Actions and Custom Panels

Lord only knows what else I've lost. (CS6 - 64 bit) Anyhow, somehow my blur gallery (Tilt-Shift, Iris and Field) got screwed up. Whenever I brought them up, they wouldn't work and I couldn't get out of the gallery.
I called tech support and after taking control of my computer, he reset my Preferences and all was well - or so I've thought. Now I find I've lost my custom Actions and Panels.
Is there a way to retreive these and other things I may have lost, or must I start from square one?

Sorry I'm just getting back to you folks. I found where CS6 keeps my preferences. Then I went to my NAS to find the file backups and after reloading my backup program (long story) I eventually copied all the stuff back to where it was supposed to go.

Export Panel and Droplets

After running a droplet through the Export Panel in Lightroom the action is not save to the image, whereas before the 'upgrade' it did, same action/droplet as before... Why is it not saving now?

When transfering tracks across to ipod a sliding panel appears on the right hand side of itunes. after acknowleadging the transfer the panel does not slide back out of the way to alow another transfer.

I have an even simpler method. I use MyPublisher to print my books. I select their page layout for a two-page spread, drag and drop the image. DONE! I understand that most people have their favorite places to have work done. I have been extremely pleased with MyPublisher.com, so I haven't even tried the book module in Lightroom.
