Lightroom Creative Cloud - Access Anywhere?

Can you access lightroom files from any computer at any time with the creative cloud system?
Can you just pay for lightroom Creative Cloud?
Is there a one time fee option?
Will new software automatically be uploaded with the creative cloud?
What are the benefits of using lightroom for a blogger?

Thank you Deto,
A couple more questions to get some better clarification.
I'm not as familiar with the creative cloud system, if I'm using it on my home computer, could I log in on a different computer, online, with the cloud and access my photos from there?
It sounds like I can't pay the one time fee with the cloud, that the cloud is a monthly fee, correct?
Is it easy to upload existing photos to lightroom from iPhoto?

  • I am looking into Lightroom (Creative Cloud) to allow a Team Member access my Catalog to keyword search which images will work for our Social Media platforms.

I am looking at LR Creative Cloud to allow a Team Member access my catalog so she can keyword search which images will work for our social media campaigns. My catalog has both personal and business images (which are in separate folders), however, I only want them to access the business images. What is the best way to do this?
and a second question as I am new to the Cloud LR product. I am assuming that my images still stay on my external drive...how am I or her able to view these images if I am out of town on another computer?

I think the only way in Lightroom to make this happen is to use two catalogs, one for business and one for personal, and then prevent access to the personal catalog via putting it on a disk or location that your team member does not have access to.

Situations like this require you to put the catalog file AND photos on the external HD and then move the external drive to whatever location and whatever computer is needed. An alternative is to put the photos on a network drive and the catalog file on a local disk and access the catalog locally and the photos via network, but that limits you to using a single computer.

As far as I know, this does not require Creative Cloud, nor does Creative Cloud help in this situation. Furthermore, if you are thinking about a situation where you and your team member have simultaneous access to the catalog(s) of interest, this is not possible in Lightroom. Lightroom is a single user application.
If you are interested in a true multi-use application, where more than one individual can access a catalog at the same time, you might want to look at Daminion. Note: I am not endorsing or recommending Daminion, as I have never used it; I simply point out the that it has the feature being discussed.

  • Lightroom 5 With Lightroom Creative Cloud?

I have Lightroom 5 installed on my computer.  If I purchase a Creative Cloud version does that mean I will have two copies of Lightroom on my computer?  Can they share the same library at the same time?  If I later decide to end my Creative Cloud contract, can Lightroom 5 be used with the library that was used by the Creative Cloud version and would it read the photos that were modified with tools only available in the Creative Cloud version?
    Thanks!

I haven't gone to the Creative Cloud yet. However, I can tell you that Lightroom is the same program regardless of whether you have Lightroom 5 standalone or Lightroom 5 CC. The only thing that's different is the licensing. You will have to uninstall Lightroom 5 in order to install the version from the Creative Cloud. You will still be able to use the same catalog that you have been using, and everything should run normally. Lightroom will continue to be upgraded. Eventually I believe there will be a Lightroom 6. Historically, each new version has required a conversion of the catalog to a new updated format. If that happens to your CC subscription, that new catalog will not be usable with Lightroom 5. So you will have to start over at the point you left off. Other than that, you should have no problems.
I just happened across an article published by Adobe that explains what will happen if your creative cloud subscription ends:
What happens to Lightroom after my membership ends?

  • Lightroom/ creative cloud.

Lightroom is not an option to download in my creative cloud. What do i do if I am paying for subscription?

It sounds like you installed the trial versions of the software instead of the Creative Cloud versions.
    Uninstall all trial versions.
Install the Adobe Creative Cloud app and then install Photoshop and Lightroom via the app.

  • Is Lightroom Creative Cloud (CC) the only upgrade option from LR 5.7?

I currently have LR 5.7.  When I start LR a dialog box is displayed indicating that there is an upgrade available.  When I click the upgrade button it takes me to an LR Creative Cloud web page.  Am I to believe that if I want to upgrade, I have to subscribe to creative cloud?
    I really hope not!

Thank you for your response JimHess,
Please allow me to explain how I got to this spot:
I have always done that method in the past as you described. But for some reason for me to receive this update of Lr5 to Lr6 (which now I see technically speaking is termed 'upgrade'), I was being directed to the page as the original poster of this thread indicated. I followed the directions by signing out then back in and had to Install Lr on to my computer. Confusing for me because I thought I could just update / upgrade from a current Catalog I have created and then follow suit as you instructed.
Now I found the Catalog I originally updated and continued on again "File->Open Recent and choose your other catalogs" and it is working. Thank you. I now see my error by not opening the other Cats from the one that was 'upgraded'.
Now, before I complete my other Cats with the upgrade I went to investigate the folder structure of the upgraded Cat and I see the title of my 'Cat' followed by '-2lrcat.lock' and the '-2lrcat.journal' so I have double of the files with the appended '-2' as the new to be used. Is this correct? If so what can I do with the original, can I delete?
I am also seeing Adobe Lightroom CC 2015 no longer the LR version. Why?
Finally, when I go to right click the Lr icon in my doc to select the Cat I wish to work from I am seeing more than I need to choose from and they are doubles. What can I do to clean this? Is it clearing the list and then going into the program from Explorer to select the newly created '-2lrcat.lock' and opening from there to start a new list for the icon in my doc?
    Thank you advance.

  • Lightroom creative cloud update missing

When running creative cloud on my desktop to update lightroom, it does not show up on the updates list, or the "my apps" area. Instead it is listed below as "Install" under "New Apps". I already have lightroom downloaded, and just want to update it, and have it reflected in my creative cloud under "My Apps". Anyone have the same problem, or find a fix?

I'm facing the same issue.  The Creative Cloud App needs some serious work.
With the last update, I had to uninstall and reinstall Lightroom to deal with the bugs, which I did through Creative Cloud.  Yesterday, it showed my two versions of Photoshop, Bridge and Lightroom installed and up to date.
Today (after the update to the creative cloud app), I show updates available for both Photoshops, and Bridge, and I'm offered the option to install Lightroom.  Yet when I start Lightroom (which definitely was installed from the cloud, not stand-alone), Lightroom offers me the option to update to v. 5.6, just as would have before creative cloud was initiated.  (I have the Photography package.)
I think I'll just re-install Lightroom from the cloud, and see what happens.

  • Lightroom creative cloud requires an additional account beyond the creative cloud account that I already have?

I says my trial has expired.
I've had creative cloud through my school since its inception, so I do not understand what that means, but when I click the button, it takes me to a Lightroom only version of Creative cloud. Is this a separate fee?

I get the message, welcome onno, you're already subscribed  ... blah blah blah ...   would you like another copy of the same product?
So in the mean time, I cannot even try the lightroom mobile feature because my trial has expired.
How do I get rid of that?

  • Creative Cloud Access Denied ??

I am continually getting the message "access denied" when attemping to download creative cloud.  I have received confirmation emails stating to download etc....hit the links....put in the access and passwords - which are accepted but then I receive the message that I am not able to access any area for download????

No I put in my correct birthdate I think - unless I slipped with the

  • Reactivate Creative Cloud access

I purchased access to the Creative Cloud for PhotoShop CS 6 and messed up when I first opened it.  I hope someone can tell me how it can be reactivated?
    I work on a Mac, OS 10.8
    Isabel

I'm not sure what you are getting everytime you open Photoshop, but if you get the "license this product" popup, just sign in with your Adobe ID, and agree to the terms, or open the Creative Cloud App, and sign into your account there, and it should also activate your product.
A third way is to go to Photoshop's Help menu and look for your email address and click on it if (sign in) is next to it.
Worst comes to worst, call Customer Support and they will help you with the activation part.

  • Lightroom Creative Cloud app location?

I downloaded the LR Creative Cloud app.  Where is the application on my Mac? No where to be found. I see LR5 in my applications folder, but no LRCCloud?  When I downloaded Photoshop Creative Cloud, the application appears in my applications folder.

Just a quick update to my previous reply from 4:58am.   I downloaded/ installed LR creative Cloud on my iMac and it exhibits the same issue.  the LR splash screen appears for about 1/10 sec., and then it goes away.  The app does not launch.

  • Creative Cloud Access

I am trying to use Creative Cloud to transfer files on my tablet (Toshiba Trive) from Adobe Proto to Adobe Dreamweaver on my PC Computer.  When I open Creative cloud in Firefox on my computer. For some reason The adobe table apps that I use (ideas, and Proto) do not connect to Creative Cloud anymore.  I have a Toshiba Thrive tablet.  Does anyone know how I can make the apps connect to Creative cloud again or how I can transfer these app files from  the tablet to the computer without using Creative Cloud
    Thank You
    Ethan

I want to do that but I can't find the folder that Proto and Ideas are saving the file into on the tablet.  If you know where it is and can tell me I would be bowing down to you with gratitude.

  • Re-installing Lightroom (Creative Cloud member) on a new PC

I have lost the original license key. What's the procedure for installation?

https://www.adobe.com/account.html for your Adobe orders page
HOWEVER Cloud programs do not use serial numbers... you log in to your paid Cloud account to download & install & activate... you MAY need to log out of the Cloud and restart your computer and log back in to the Cloud for things to work

  • When does a year of Creative Cloud access/use begin?

I won a year of CC use in a competition recently, but I don't have an Apple computer to use it with. I know I can use it with other brands and operating systems, but I learned to use the software on Mac computers and want to keep everything consistent. It will take a while for me to save up for a Mac, so I was wondering if the year of CC membership/use starts from the date I enter the activation code or from the date it was sent to me?

what's creative cloud 6?  do you mean cs6?
what version of acrobat pro do you have installed and what are you clicking to start it?

  • Missing Camera Calibration Profiles in Lightroom Creative Cloud

I am missing the ADOBE SUPPLIED Nikon D700 and Olympus OM-D E-M5 camera calibration profiles in Lightroom. They were there until I had to reload the apps from CC. I looked in the forums already and haven't found any answer. I have tried to get support from Adobe through Chat and the person there had no clue what I was asking.
I found this answer on a similar question but it does not explain why the Adobe-supplied profiles are missing. To be clear, I am not talking about custom profiles.
"If you are asking about Adobe-supplied profiles, they will be installed every time you update the software so there’s no need to copy them, anywhere, and the reason for not seeing them would be that the current photo is not a raw file since most profiles are only for raw not jpg."
Can anyone help me out? Thank you.

There is no uninstaller. Just drag the app to the trash and reinstall it from the CC app. That should fix your issue. If you want to know, on Mac OS X and starting with LR 4, the profiles are installed in the app wrapper inside the Applications folder for some reason so they are hard to find. you control click on the app, select "Show package contents" and navigate to Resources > Camera Profiles
