Lightroom does not Recognize Capture Date

I have a lot of slides that I am scanning into Digital images.
The Nikon CoolScan does not include a capture date in the .jpg file so I add one using the ExifPilot program.
All other programs that I have tried correctly recognize this EXIF data, including Adobe Photoshop Elements. But the Lightroom does NOT recognize it and the file gets put into the library under "Unknown Date" Attempts to change the date with the Metadata/Edit Capture Time command do not work.
Any Ideas on what could fix the problem?

Yes, this is a problem, not only with files from scanner. I started a threat
called "Date/Time, Exif and Lightroom" on March 6 about that - have a look
there. Alas, no solution.

Lightroom says that I have the latest version, but Lightroom does not recognize RAW captures from my new Panasonic DMC-GH4. When will an update for this camera be available?

The GH4 must be very new as it’s not listed in Adobe’s supported cameras, so wait until the next version of LR.  Usually there is one every 3-4 months with a release-candidate available at Adobe Labs before that:  http://labs.adobe.com/

  • Lightroom does not recognize the raw format of files loading from my Nikon AW1 and loads them as jpegs. I know there are updates that would allow this camera to be recognized as shooting raw but I haven't been able to work it out. Any help out there?

Lightroom does not recognize the raw files (necs?) coming in from my Nikon AW1. It loads them as jpegs. I know it is possible to update Lightroom so it knows my Nikon but I can't get it to work.
I would like files to be loaded as .dng.

update by downloading the files directly and then applying them for lr 4 and earlier,  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/
for lr 5.7.1, the last lr 5 update, use the below link:

Thank you for your response. I fixed the problem by simply importing the
images using windows rather than the Nikon Transfer.

  • Importing clips from iMovie HD does not preserve capture date

    Hi,
I am importing iMovie HD projects into iMovie 09.
The clips in iMovie HD (originally imported from DV) have the correct capture date/time on them.
However, when I import these clips into iMovie 09, it does not preserve these dates for the events but instead chooses to use the "file create date/time" as the event date time.
Is this info lost forever in iMovie 09 or is there some setting that can use the original clip capture date info as the event date/time?
    Thanks.

  • EPM SP18 does not recognize input data

    Hi,
we migrated from EPM SP12 to SP18 and face the following problem. When I open a report full of input sheets in order to save data I received from a company without any access to BPC, EPM does not recognize the input data. The data is still there in the input cells, but not recognized as new data.
When I refresh the same report my input cells are empty and now I can type in the values manually and save it. EPM does recognize the data.
    Is this only SP18 behaviour?
Thanks in advance for any helpful advice!
    Sandra

    HI Andy,
yes this is right. The sheet is offline. But as soon as you log on it is automatically set to online mode again. The input data is still there then, just not recognized as data to be saved...
    Thanks
    Sandra

  • Lightroom does not recognize Photoshop CS2

I installed on my notebook and all is well.
However, I installed on my desktop and Lightroom does not see that Photoshop CS2 is installed.
I'm sure a full re-install of CS2 then Lightroom would fix it...but I'm hoping for a less painful way of fixing this?
    Thanks!
    Greg

Ok - right after posting the message, I found my own answer back on the beta messageboard.
    Here's how to fix it:
    1) Run regedit.exe from start menu->run
    2) Look for this folder:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\photoshop.exe
In that folder, there should be a key "Path" and its value should be the folder where Photoshop CS2 (or any other Photoshop version) is installed."
My registry didn't have that folder, so I created it and added a "Path" key with the value being the path to Photoshop CS2: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\

  • Lightroom does not read DR data from Fujifilm X100

NB this also applies to ACR.
If I use the Auto DR setting on my Fujifilm X100, and that then chooses DR200 or DR400, the raw files are underexposed by 1 or 2 stops respectively when Lightroom imports them. Apple Aperture however reads the DR data and adjusts accordingly. Will Lightroom/ACR be fixed to do the same?

I am not too familiar with the Fujifilm X100, but it might be worth checking if under Camera Profiles Lr includes profiles for DR200 and DR400. For old Nikons it includes 3 profiles for Camera D2X Modes 1 to 3, plus other profiles for other settings under Picture Controls.
P.S.: I know somebody is bound to say that when you shoot RAW this does not matter.

  • Lightroom does not recognize external disk in some backups

    Strange thing:
I have opened LR (5.3)  today. Last time was a few days ago.
I have 2 ext harddisks. 1st is called WDPhotoDrive with station letter 'F' and 2th is called WDPhotoDriveBackUp with stationletter 'G'.
This is so since a couple of years. Suddenly LR does not see F anymore in the latest backups. It sees the folders in G, that's a bit strange because they are not there. G is only used for import backup.
And there are question marks everywhere.
When I open a backup catalogue from two weeks ago or older then LR recognizes both drives and the folders in the wright drive (F). But then I miss some work from the last weeks of course.
I really don't know what happened. Last time (few days) ago I just closed the program like always  and with backup.
    Anyone??
    Regards,
    Michel
    The Netherlands

    Thanx.
No, Windows (or I) hasn't changed a thing. It sees them as F and G.
Strange is that LR sees F and G correct in an older backup and not in backups from the last two weeks. Then it sees the exact folders (but with ?) but on the G drive. And they are on the F drive.

  • Extrnal drive in after a shutdown and it came up a different letter. Now Lightroom does not recognize any of my photos..

I plugged  my external drive in after removing it to clean the computer. HP PC. When I plugged the external drive in again the drive letter changed and Lightroom could not find any of my photos 11,000 or so of them. I have tried the usual recommendations of locating etc and nothing has worked. The only thing I can do is load them one sub folder at a time. What is the easiest way to re locate all of my photos. No one so far has an answer, only the easy recommended ones which have not worked for me.Please help, i am soo frustrated have spend all afternoon trying things to no avail. If you haven't already guessed, I am not very computer literate

. Can I simple "Import them" back into Lightroom?
    No
It is very disappointing that Lightroom can be so adversly affected by simply disconnecting tlhlen reconnecting a  drive. The computert runs much better, by the way, now that it is relatively dust free.
It should be a simple fix. But if you start moving things in Lightroom instead of changing the drive letter, it becomes less simple.

  • Lightroom 4 does not recognize raw date images from lumix gx7 or canon 5D mark III

    what am i doing wrong

Using a version of Lightroom that's too old to recognise your cameras, most like.
FAQ: Will Lightroom work with my camera, or Why won't my raw files open?
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
The 5D Mk III needs at least Lr 4.1, and the Lumix Lr 5.2.

  • WebDynpro Does Not Recognize the Data Type

I've had this problem happen to me before, but I can't remember how to resolve it. Basically, there is an SAP tutorial on the GeoMap that says to create a contect attribute with a type of com.sap.ide.webdynpro.uielementdefinitions.GeoObject
When I go to the properties on the context attribute, and click "..." I select "Java Native Type". Then I enter in the type above, and I get an error saying, "Type not found in the scope of the current project".
Do I have to do something prior to assigning the type so that it recognizes the GeoObject. If I search the Java Native Types, there are other GeoObject, but they are not the right ones.
Any help in this one would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Tom

This is a Java DDIC type. You may assign it to the context attribute by selecting "Dictionary simple type", choose package com.sap.ide.webdynpro.uielementdefinitions" and here you find type "GeoObject".
For reasons of backward compatibility, the DDIC types for the UI element libraries Core, Standard and BusinessGraphics are all located in this package. For every other UI element library, the package is "com.sap.ide.webdynpro.uielementlibraries.<libraryName>".
General rule: Context attributes to which UI element properties are bound must have DDIC type, not Java native type.

  • Lightroom does not recognize serial number...help!

    Hello,
I had the same issue on my other computer, which was resolved a few months ago. I download Lightroom and when I type in my serial number, it gives me a red X, indicating that the number is incorrect. I triple-checked it, and it is not. When I spoke with the customer service rep, she guided me through a process in which I had to uninstall my current version (5.4 I believe), install an older version (4.something), and used the serial number with that version. It worked! However, I lost the transcript of our conversation and I can't remember which version I was supposed to download, leaving me unable to use Lightroom on my other computer. Anyone know what I should do?
    Thank you

I tried anouther part of the site and was able to get it,  am thinking the instructions were just wierd and seemed to say that I should append the two small numbers but I really should just of used the singular 7 digit SN.

  • HELP FAST! Need to go to my wedding-Lightroom 4 does not recognize Nikon D800 files

I try to import my d800 nef files and Lightroom does not recognize them and will not import.  I looked on the site and it SAYS it supports them but nothing. I looked for a raw plugin but when I clicked the link it would not go anywhere.  HELP! I don't want to shoot my wedding with this camera if LR can't support it and I have to return it to the camera store FAST if not.

    Nidhaal Halid wrote:
Nikon D 800 is supported in the latest realease of camera raw. Make sure that you update the software to the latest version or download and install the latest version of Camera Raw 6.7 from the Adobe website.
But the question is about Lightroom. And Lightroom doesn't use any version of ACR. Lightroom 4 is somewhat compatible with ACR 6.7, and fully compatible with ACR 7.x. ACR 6.7 will read Lightroom 4 adjustments when an image is transferred to Photoshop, but it will not provide access to process 2012 sliders in ACR.
