Lightroom doesn't recognize PS Elements 6?????

I have been using Lightroom 1.3.1 and PS Elements 4 with good compatibility. Now upgraded to PS Elements 6 and Lightroom doesn't recognize the program when I try to go from Lightroom to PSE6. The drop-down menu under "photo" in the Develop module has the command "edit in Photoshop" grey and not functioning.
I know that there is a fix mentioned to add photoshop itself but I need to add photoshop Elements. Any suggestions?
Thanks

    Sure the laptop know's that the Nikon D800E is connected, but lightroom doesn't recognise this camera. Two weeks a go it wasn't a problem at all.

  • Lightroom doesn't recognize 32 bit image processed in ps hdr pro. what can i do to get lightroom to recognize image?

    how can i get lightroom to recognize a 32 bit image which was processed in ps hdr pro?

    What do you mean "recognize"? Do you mean it will not import? Or it was imported but doesn't produce a thumbnail?
    What format is the file? What is the file size?

  • Lightroom doesn't recognize D750 files

    Do you have an update coming for this soon?  I saw a post not to blame adobe but blame the camera manufacturer.  Come ON!  Between Adobe and freakin Nikon I spend this much money between the two of you and I can't even upload my images from my first shoot with this camera.  This is absolutely unacceptable on both of your parts.  What a crappy experience.  I'd doing my best to now to figure out how to make the conversion manually with the converter but obviously prefer the typical method of Lightroom recognizing the files.  My $500 Phottix Odin doesn't work with the Nikon D750 either.  Maybe I should have stuck with the D90 and saved some cash.

    Thanks guys for your feedback.  So I was able to get the images into Lightroom manually using the dng converter.  Obviously I would like to not have to do this every time.
    Next question; I'm running LR 3.6 and it's up to date.  Your note says the D750 was added on version 5.7.  I'm perfectly happy with my desktop version of 3.6, not wanting to pay for an upgrade, not wanting to move to the cloud!   ...just want my little ol version 3.6 to recognize my D750 files.
    Why wouldn't that functionality to recognize those files in V5.7 be available to download and install in V3.6?
    Thanks,

  • Lightroom doesn't recognize ACR 5.5 and my D300s RAW images

    Lightroom 2.4 does not recognize my Nikon D300s RAW images. I downloaded ACR 5.5 and after install both Bridge and Photoshop CS4 handle the D300s RAW images but my Lightroom 2.4 will not import them saying that it is a damaged or unrecognized file type. I have rebooted my entire Vista system and the problem persists. Any suggestions on how I might make Lightroom recognize ACR 5.5 and my D300s RAW images? Thanks in advance.

    You don't want Camera Raw 5.5 (unless you want to use Photoshop CS4), you want the DNG Converter 5.5 which can convert the D300 raws into DNGs that are compatible with Lightroom 2.4. The next version of Lightroom (presumable 2.5) will have the support built in without needing the DNG Conversion...

  • ITunes doesn't recognize Photoshop Elements 4.0

    After upgrading Photoshop Elements from V3.0 to V4.0, iTunes (5.0.1) no longer finds Photoshop. The iTunes documentation says it support PE 3.0 and higher, but apparently 4.0 breaks it. Any ideas?

    OK, I found a way to solve this problem. Hopefully is going to be fixed in a new version.
    Basically the problem is that the registry location of the catalog is different between 4.0 and 3.0. Luckily iTunes doesn’t have any problems reading the Catalog file for 4.0.
    WARNING 1: If you have never used regedit before, then this trick is probably not for you.
    WARNING 2: Is a good idea to make a backup of the registry before changing it.
    1) Create the Key "3.0" under HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Photoshop Elements
    2) Create the Key "Organizer" under the Key "3.0" you created in the last step
    3) Create 2 String Values under Organizer:
    CurrentDatabaseName
    CurrentDatabasePath
    4) Enter the name of your catalog file in the first one and the path in the second one.
    Tips:
    1) You can copy the values from the Key for 4.0 if you didn’t change the default location of the Catalog, otherwise you have to look in HKCU for the right ones (or in Photoshop Elements)
    2) If it doesn’t work, try with or without the extension .psa for the "CurrrentDatabaseName" Value
    ENJOY!

  • Windows doesn't recognize WD Elements all the sudden but Ubuntu does

    Hey guys A couple of months ago I bought a WD Elements HDD and everything worked fine up till a few weeks ago. All the sudden the drive became unreadable. It does show in "My Computer", but not with the name I gave it. It has the name "Local Disk (I)" and nothing more. And what's even worse, when I doubleclick it, my explorer crashes. The same goes for device management. The drive is basicly unreachable. Some crucial information though. From the moment I bought the HDD I intended to split it in two partitions. One partition (250 GB) has been formatted to a EXT4 file system so I could install Ubuntu on it and another one was formatted to a FAT32 (250 GB) file system so I could use that space for both Windows and Linux. For like 2 months that worked perfectly so I do not believe it has anything to do with the split-up. However, what I do think is strange is that I can boot to Ubuntu without any problems and even acces my files on my FAT32 file system. I do not use Linux often and I do not want to keep porting files to my USB stick just because the HDD is not being recognized by Windows. It really gets ennoying and I'd like to solve this. Thanks in advanceRuben Labruyere

    It's possible for Windows to have a file system conflict. How is the hard drive detected within Windows Disk Management?

  • Lightroom 4 doesn't detect Photoshop Elements 9/10 for external editing

    Hi,
    I own Photoshop Elements 9 and recently decided to install trials of Lightroom 4 and Photoshop Elements 10.  For whatever reason, Lightroom doesn't detect Photoshop Elements 9 or 10 for external editing.  I need to make sure this functionality works before proceeding with purchasing Lightroom and possibly Photoshop Elements 10.  Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?
    Thanks,
    Matt

    List of supported Nikon cameras. I think you're out of luck for tether-shooting.
      Nikon
    D3
    D3s
    D3x
    D90
    D300
    D300s
    D700
    D5000
    D7000
      Notes on Nikon cameras
    If you trigger the shutter with the tether bar capture button, the image must finish downloading before another photo can be captured. Triggering a capture with the shutter release button on the camera does not have this limitation.
    Images do not save to the compact flash card. They are only downloaded to the computer.
    Only one Nikon camera can be attached at a time.
    Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Mac OS X 10.6 are not officially supported for the D3x, D90, and D5000, but they can still work.

  • Parser doesn't recognize schema namespace

    I've got the following bit of code:
                    org.apache.xerces.parsers.DOMParser parser = new org.apache.xerces.parsers.DOMParser();
                    parser.setFeature("http://xml.org/sax/features/namespaces", true);
                    parser.setFeature("http://apache.org/xml/features/validation/schema", true);
                    parser.setFeature( "http://xml.org/sax/features/validation", true);
                    ErrorHandler handler = new MyErrorHandler();
                    parser.setErrorHandler(handler);
                    parser.parse(name);The schema file I want it to parse (and validate) is below. Its a simple example taken from the w3schools web site. I have almost no doubt the file is a valid schema file.
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    targetNamespace="http://www.w3schools.com"
    xmlns="http://www.w3schools.com"
    elementFormDefault="qualified">
    <xs:element name="note">
        <xs:complexType>
          <xs:sequence>
            <xs:element name="to" type="xs:string"/>
            <xs:element name="from" type="xs:string"/>
            <xs:element name="heading" type="xs:string"/>
            <xs:element name="body" type="xs:string"/>
          </xs:sequence>
        </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    </xs:schema>Below are the first few errors generated. The real head scratcher is having no clue about the URI I gave it, and then suggesting the SAME one as what I really should use. Getting these parsers setup to do validation has been a major pain. Anyone know what I left out?
    Error at 5 : org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: General Schema Error: Grammar with uri: http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema , can not be found; schema namespace may be wrong: Xerces supports schemas from the "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" namespace or the instance document's namespace may not match the targetNamespace of the schema.
    Error at 5 : org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Element type "xs:schema" must be declared.
    Error at 7 : org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Element type "xs:element" must be declared.

    Thanks for the replies, but I don't think we are quite connecting. I do eventually want to be able to validate an XML file against a schema (which I can't do either), but first I want to be able to validate the schema file itself; i.e. to confirm that the schema I designed is a valid schema file. As I understand it, it should be possible to tell the parser that the schema to validate against is the "schema for writing schemas", http://www.w3.org/Schema/schema.xsd (or whatever it is). That's where I'm getting stuck, that the parser doesn't recognize the elements for actually defining a schema.

    I have Lightroom 4 and a new 70D camera and when I try to important my photos Lightroom says it doesn't recognize my CR2 files.  Can someone help?  I have downloaded 8.3 from Adobe, but still doesn't work?

    Lightroom doesn't use the Camera Raw plug-in. All of the Camera Raw technology is part of the Lightroom program. You will either have to upgrade to Lightroom 5 or use the DNG converter to create digital negative copies that can be used with Lightroom 4.

  • Lightroom 4.4 Trial not opening on Mac OS X 10.6.8 - "doesn't recognize disk"

    I'm trying to download a trial version of Lightroom and nothing seems to be working. I have Mac 10.6.8 and apparently LR5 isn't compatible. Adobe support suggested I download LR 4.4, which I did, and tried to open but it is telling me it doesn't recognize the disk and cannot open it.
    Not sure what I can do at this point. I was really hoping I could try this out as I'm trying to expedite my current editing process and was hoping LR was the answer! HELP!

    v2.8 still works on Mountain Lion, you don't have all the latest features, but a better user interface.  At least you will have a working Skype, with audio in preference to video conference calls.
    v2.8 is available from the Skype needs 10.5.8 warning at the top of the Skype Mac download page.  If you want to run both 2.8 & 5 (theoretically you can by putting one of the Skype applications in a separate folder in the Applications folder), however, v2.8 & v5 handle chat/IM data differently, going from v2.8 to v5 will mangle the datestamps on every chat / IM in v2.8. Ideal & faff solution is to have a separate user account on the Mac to preserve chat data....

  • Using Photoshop Elements to edit raw.  Doesn't recognize file type

    I recently downloaded photoshop elements to use as my editor within Iphoto. I've set it up as the default editor in preferences, and made the appropriate change in the advanced settings within Iphoto so that it exports edits in RAW. When I attempt to edit by double clicking, Photoshop Elements gives me a msg that it can't open file because it does not recognize the file type. Does anyone know why this would be? I am using a Nikon D60. I haven't downloaded the Nikon software onto the computer (not sure if that has anything to do with it). Does photoshop elements need anything additional? Any help appreciated.
    Thx
    Richie

    Richie:
    As Terence mentioned we can help with using PSE within iPHoto but why PSE doesn't recognize the D60 files is an Adobe issue. I believe there are Adobe plugins available to handle RAW files. Check the Adobe site for those. For using PSE to edit jpgs within iPhoto this may be of some help:
    Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
    1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
    2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
    3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
    This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
    NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.
    If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
    Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

    If that is the case and Customer Service has no idea of what you were given as a Product Key and how to use it, have you considered asking
