that's what happens when you treat your "customers" like potential thieves before they even get the program installed.

Lightroom export order

I am exporting a set of wedding pictures to a file. In Lightroom I have moved a number of pictures around so that they are in chronological order. When I export the pictures end up in their original order. I guess they are in numerial sequence. Any suggestion in preventing LR5 from resequencing the pictures?

You need to make the sequence number the prefix, so files are named:
001 my first file.x
002 my seond file.y
etc.
Lightroom exports in order (first one first, second one second, and last one last), but the device you're using to view them (e.g. OS) is displaying via alphabetical order, or can.
So the prefix assures alphabetic order is same as exported order, and hence same as order in Lightroom.

Lightroom 4 order still pending after 17 days, no support via phone

March 8th I chatted with tech support about returning lightroom 4, they said I was eligible for a free upgrade and placed an order.
I chatted again a few days ago with someone because it is still pending and they said someone would e-mail me within a few days to tell me why the order is still pending.
I called them today and after 26 minutes and 52 seconds on hold I heard a click and the line went dead.
What can I do?

If you already have a ticket number, you should be able to reference that either by phone or online.

Lightroom Image Order Help

Not sure how to word this. In the develop module all of my photos are in order via image number. When I send it to photoshop and make edits I select stack with original, and when I save it and it comes back into lightroom is has always left the image in order in it's place. I don't know what I did but today it is moving the orignal and the edited photo to the end of the line of images and I just want it to stay in it's place. Please help!

It sounds as though you've (inadvertently perhaps) changed the sort order from "Capture Time" to something else, likely "Added Order". Go back into the Library module and check the sort order (in the toolbar) of the collection/folder that you are working in.

Can I transfer Lightroom education version 4 between an old computer and my new computer

Can I transfer the education version of Lightroom 4 from the old computer to my new computer, or will I have to purchase a new version of lightroom?
Lightroom would then be removed from the old computer.

Tthe Lr licence allows you to install it on two computers at any one time. If you need to have it on both, that's okay.

How to find Education order number

I'll post here the question, as I don't know where else I could post it. Purchased Lightroom educator version for use on Mac with Yosemite and it won't open. It crashes overtime I try to open it.

I purchased Lightroom for use on a MAC using the new operating system of Yosemite, and it crashes every time it tries to open. I have removed and reinstalled it, but it does not help. Is this program mac compatible? How can I get it to work?

This should not be so difficult, and really does not require a screenshot, or a chain of a dozen email.
The message says “Lightroom quit unexpectedly. Click report to send a report to apple.” There is no error number or any other message. That is it.
It has been installed, removed and reinstalled.
IT DOES NOT OPEN.
How do I resolve this. I have now spent hours on this issue and I am in the same place.

"the given account only is valid for a different country logoff and logon again with an account fot this country"
i have no idea what that means im from germany and just want buy the LR 6 Upgrade not the Fullversion

I have completed this form and attached a copy of my student ID on June 24th (5 days ago) and heard nothing from Adobe, despite claims that a customer service advisor will deal with the form within 24 hours.
I have spoken to two customer service advisors via the "chat" fuction who have both promised that it will be looked at soon and I will recieve a serial number via e-mail but this has not happened.
Is there anything further I can do to aid this process and to be able to use the software I have paid for?

Educational Order Fulfillment - No response from Adobe

Lightroom 3 EDU Order Cancelled in Error by Adobe Customer Service

On June 5th, I purchased Lightroom 3 Student Teacher Edition from the Education Online Store. On June 21st, I also ordered Photoshop CS5, but later that day decided to cancel it. When I chatted with customer support, the person I spoke with canceled/refunded my Lightroom 3 order in error.
I called after discovering the error, and they told me just to go ahead and re-order Lightroom, but when I did, the order was canceled becuse their database indicated I had already purchased it (only one edu purchase per title per year). I have been on chat with them for most of an hour hoping to clear it up, and have again reordered.
My question is this -if/when the reorder processes and they assign me a new serial number, can I just type that over the old serial number, or do I have to backup my catalog and do an uninstall/reinstall?
I've only had it for a couple of weeks but have process about 300 vacation pics that I don't want to loose.

If you uninstall, your catalogue won't be uninstalled with the program. Re-install, use your new serial number, and you'll be fine.
Actually, if you already have a running lightroom with serial number attached, you'll be able to continue to use it. Lightroom isn't like Photoshop: there is no conversation between your computer and Adobe when you apply a serial number. It's all done on the honour system.

I have just ordered and paid for Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 4 but when I go to download I only see downloads for 2 Lightroom 4's and No Photoshop CS6. Perhaps I put in Lightroom 4 twice by mistake but I ordered and paid for CS6 and Lightroom 4. PLEASE HELP ME GET THIS STRAIGHT!!!

Converted to Lightroom from Elements 5

I installed the trial version from a link found in a message on this forum and imported from Elements 5. Luckily, I only had something less than 3000 images loaded into Elements and hadn't done serious tagging on most of them. I decided to use this trial version of Lightroom because I only decided yesterday to switch from Elements to Lightroom and ordered the shipped version so, being impatient, I would have to go with the trial version tomorrow anyway.
How did the import go? Well, not perfectly. It went well until the end when Lightroom crashed just after it finished importing. I wasn't even touching the computer when it did that. However, when I brought it up it looked OK.
For some reason it decided to have some of my keyword tags nested and some not. In other words, the same tag would appear nested under something and not nested. I had no idea how to merge tags (surely this is something one would want to do?) so I think I ended up losing some tagging, but I can live with that. Some other tags had lost their hierarchical structure but at least weren't duplicated.
Folders also had lost their structure but that looks to be just an issue of dragging and dropping to fix it. They aren't physical folders in Lightroom.
My most serious issue for me is the capture date. Elements supported not knowing the day and/or month. They are coming in here differently. July 1952 is June 30, 1952. I had previously checked and Exifer does display just what I entered in Elements: if only the year, then only the year, if the month and year, then the month and year. This is not coming over in Lightroom.
I have thousands of slides we are scanning and I almost never know the exact day any slide was taken. I'm lucky to know the month. I was overjoyed that the capability existed in Elements to specify what you do know and not have to make up more that you don't know. I don't know how that is actually stored in the exif info, but like I said, Exifer did understand it.
Any suggestions about what to do? Elements can't simply have used the last day of the month before or the last day of the year before because surely you could specify those dates explicitly.
I'm going to have to get used to working with Lightroom. I was able to do things pretty quickly in Elements. Lightroom has a lot of stuff displayed on both sides and I have to figure out how to move around quickly. In paricular, the metadata area doesn't stay put to type in location, for example. The use more metadata fields and not just tags is one of the major reasons I am switching to Lightroom. I have lots of tags as well. I guess recent keywords are going to be very important.
So now I have to go read the help, which so far doesn't seem very helpful.
I had played around with Beta 4 so I know something about Lightroom.

Can't be physical folders because they came in structured incorrectly compared to my disk. OK, they are physical folders in the sense that they contain what the corresponding physical folder contains but they do not need to have the same structure as your physical folder system.
I was able to drag a couple of folders into the same relationship as my physical structure and it didn't do anything to my actual file system. Hum. I'm going to have to play around with this. The help is not very good.
Version sets did not survive together in any way. Stacks seem to be stacked. I had more version sets, though. I guess I stack them.
